This restaurant has been part of our lives for a long time, so it honestly makes me sad to write this review. I understand that prices have gone up everywhere, and I don't mind paying more when the quality of the food is still good. Unfortunately, I feel like the food quality here has gotten worse recently. The last time my son and I came, our meal for two people was almost $100 with the tip. On top of that, a very small container of orange juice was $5.99, which felt extremely expensive. Today, we came back hoping things would be better, but unfortunately the bacon was completely burned, just like the last time. I'm really disappointed because I have so many good memories of this restaurant. When I compare the food to other restaurants nearby, I feel that there are now places serving better-quality food for a more reasonable price. It makes me sad to say this, but after being a loyal customer for so many years, I may not be coming back. I truly hope the restaurant can improve the quality of the food because I would love to see Patty's return to the place we enjoyed for so many years. ****************** Thank you for taking the time to explain. But what I don't think should be overlooked is that when customers are paying higher prices, they should also be able to expect their food to be prepared with care, attention, and consistency. That's a lot of years and a lot of memories, which is exactly why I took the time to say something instead of simply walking away. I wasn't trying to attack your restaurant or tell you how to run your business. I was simply sharing my honest experience as a longtime customer. The wait staff here are very friendly and service is quick! I noticed that George, one of the owners, treated the staff with respect as well as the customers. Everyone who came in to dine knew him - great neighborhood vibe. The menu offers breakfast and lunch with vegan/vegetarian options. You can't go wrong with anything here. All made to order and served promptly. Eggs, waffles, pancakes, salads etc all on the menu...I have been here several times and it never disappoints! *BTW - The latte's here are very good! And the regular drip coffee is also very good. *Parking - there is a tiny lot in the back but mostly meter street parking - and side streets ~ and that's all I have to say about that...

We walked in with my son today around 3:15pm and were greeted by Nick, who was the only other person in the restaurant other than us. On a sunny and HOT day such as today, the A/C wasn't working and they only had 2 giant ceiling fans spinning, which were barely providing any relief. We were so hot and sweaty the entire time and it was very uncomfortable. My son stayed with water and I ordered their freshly squeezed orange juice, which was delicious. They have a very extensive breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner menu ranging from omelettes, breakfast plates, French toast, pancakes, sandwiches, wraps, pasta, paninis, burgers, salads, and much more. They also had a big refrigerator full of bottled drinks, juice, sodas, etc. Limited dessert menu options, but we skipped dessert. We were too full. We got a couple of different menu items to try, starting with the Goat Cheese and Spinach omelette that came with sun-dried tomatoes and mushrooms. It was absolutely DELICIOUS and made to PERFECTION! They also didn't skimp on any of the ingredients. It came with a side of sourdough toast and I opted for a fruit cup instead of fries or hashbrowns. The next item was the Caprese Panini, which comes with your standard mozzarella/tomato/basil, but I added chicken breast to it. Got this one with garlic fries, but it came to the table with regular fries. Nick said it was his mistake and offered to take it back, but we were too hungry and told him to just leave it. Also got their Avocado toast which came on a thick slice of Sourdough bread. It had over-easy eggs on top of the avocado, with arugula and sriracha mayo. This was also very tasty and the eggs were cooked exactly how I like them. My son had the chicken burger but asked for it to be wrapped in lettuce instead of the standard brioche bun it comes with. He said it was fine. The place was super dead and the decor was mostly just framed photos of iconic LA buildings/landmarks and there was a pretty cool mural on the ceiling of different legendary artists, such as Michael Jackson, Prince, Selena, and Tupac. Some of the furniture seemed pretty old and the fluff was coming out from inside the sofas. They also had 2-3 TVs playing, but the volume was off. Also have 2 bathrooms, one for each gender. We didn't use them, but hopefully they were clean. The restaurant was clean as well. Overall, it was a pretty decent experience and the food was really good. Service was good too, although Nick seemed to be checking on us too frequently, maybe since we were the only people there. Also, I'm not sure what's up with their hours, because Yelp, Google, and their website all say different things. I thought they close at 5pm, but he turned away a couple at 4:20pm, saying the kitchen was closed. After we left around 4:45, he locked up the doors and went home. Then on their website, it says they're open until 9pm. I'm not sure where the disconnect is here. I would probably come back if I'm in the area again, and I recommend this place for a quick lunch (if the A/C is working).
