I placed my order online, I arrived 14 minutes before scheduled pick up time. I was told I was early. They've been open since 6am, to complain to a customer that they are 14 minutes early is ridiculous. I ordered a bakers dozen (13) bagels and pastries. I received 11 bagels thrown in a large sack, no bag, no container, just chunked into the sack. Whatever happened to customer service? We ordered a bread bowl with corn chowder and a sandwich. Two drinks and a cookie and it was 30 bucks plus tip. When we got the bread bowl my wife was like look at how little soup is in the bread. There was literally about 3 spoonfuls of corn chowder. I went to the manager named Carlos and showed him the size of the bread plus. He said sorry. Nothing I can do. I ordered a bowl of the corn chowder which had at least 10 times the soup for the same price. True, we did get a loaf of bread but guess what came as a side on the bread bowl and the bowl of soup? I have always loved Panera. I have to admit I haven't patronized this establishment as I have in the past because of the 20 minute drive. I love their breads, soups and sandwiches. I was sorely disappointed with the Sherman Tx location. The food was fine but the selections were limited because they were out of most breads. I wanted a bagel loaf but they did not have any available. They were out of sourdough and ciabatta bread also. I was told it would be 2 hrs before they had any bread ready. I ordered what they had left; it was good. I also ordered coffee, it was warm not hot. The cream craft was empty and no stir stick available. The ambiance was fine but they need a facelift and cheerful atmosphere. I later looked up the reviews and in the last 2 years this place has steadily received lower and lower reviews. I think Management needs a change. When reviews steadily go down and employee moral is low it's time to totally revamp the location from the ground up. read more

Recently, I stopped into this store to order food for myself and my girlfriend. My girlfriend was enroute to the restaurant and I was going to order her dinner for her, but she asked if I would send her a photo of the menu so she could pick what see wanted to have for dinner. The manager on duty took issue with me taking photos of the menu in her store. I politely told the lady at the counter (not the manager) that I would go order lunch from some other restaurant. I will never go back to this place again. Had a really bad experience with one of the staff. Now before hand I am 300 pd guy 5'8. I walk up to the register to place my order and ask for a grilled cheese sandwich and add turkey (wanted some protein). I then ask for a small thing of Mac and cheese. The guy said "are you sure that's a lot of food already". I said yes I'm sure and he made the statement again. This Panera was pretty rough. Granted, it's probably the last shift and employees are ready to go home. But the floors were disgusting, tables not wiped off, and bathrooms pretty gross. I've got four kids (so I've seen gross- but this was GROSS). The manager (?) took our order (2 of us) and forgot to ask if we wanted bread, chips, or apples. We forgot about it too- as we'd left a long work day and were driving at least another 6 hours! While waiting, I made myself the hot tea that I had ordered, and the entire coffee bar was STICKY. The handle for the hot water... the lid for the tea canister... the half-and half carafe. All sticky. Not to mention that there was no way to dig out the tea bags (unwrapped in the canister). I basically had to finagle a stir stick to grab one without touched ALL of them. Ten minutes later (the restaurant only had one other couple there eating their food already), my boss had to go to the counter to ask for our food. They said they had called our name twice (but I had been waiting and hadn't heard them call it out once). The kitchen had a lot of laughing going on, the entire time- and then erupted in laughter like it was funny that we had to ask for our food? ‍ When we got our food, it had bread on the plate- and since we both have food allergies, I politely requested apples for both of us instead. The manager seemed annoyed and glared at me, told me to throw away the two bread loaves in a grouchy way, and handed me ONE apple. Again- ‍. My boss while finishing our dinner, ordered a latte thru the Panera app to go. We actually heard a employee conversation (as they were hollering to each other from the kitchen to the dining room where we sat) about the younger employee not wanting to make the latte. The older employee shouted back and told her to wait until the customer showed up to make it. He said, "You never know how long it's going to sit there!" My boss and I were giggling at this point of the ridiculousness of the situation, and then she got up, when to the kitchen window, and said, "I'm the one who ordered the latte and I'm already here." As we left, we talked that at least our food was good, and the latte was well-made. But I mean- really? Where has customer service/cleanliness gone to? First of al the lady at the window was very friendly. Second, the young lady taking the order was not friendly and almost seemed put out. She didn't enter the order right. I don't eat meat so I ordered the citrus Asian chicken salad without chicken. She didn't put it in the order we didn't want the chicken so the cooks added it. We were traveling so I had to pick all the chicken out in the car. It was a very good salad once I could eat it. The steak and cheese was very very dry. The steak itself my wife enjoyed. Sunday morning was a nice, relaxing time to visit Panera Bread. We were greeted upon entry, and thankfully, not rushed in making our decisions. The coffee was hot. Almond milk, 2%, 1/2 & 1/2 and skim milk were available. After a chilly motorcycle ride, the a/c was too much - so we ate on the patio, as did other couples. Asiago cheese bagel sandwich was fine. I like to go to Panera for fresh bagels in the morning. I usually like to bring my iPad and check email, news and so forth. I know when I walk in the door in the morning that there is about a 50% chance that there will be no morning blend coffee, or worse the coffee will not be hot. The bagel is usually consistently good and hot. The workers are for the most part just cordial and not overly polite or accommodating. When I pointed out this morning that there was no morning blend coffee, the lady said "well, I will have to go make some." Her look and tone of voice made me feel bad for asking, as though I was causing her a problem. They have an "unlimited sips" club which is ironic because the sips are very much limited. Sorry but why would anyone pay $12.99/month for hit or miss service and hit or miss coffee? I waited ten minutes for the coffee to be ready and finally after seeing that the slot for the morning blend was still empty, I went to the counter and asked for a refund of the coffee. The manager came to the cash register and I think he has had to do this multiple times, because he said, are you wanting to get a refund for the subscription? I said no, I don't have a subscription (I know better). He refunded the coffee to my card and offered a very weak apology after competing the refund and handing my receipt to me. A quick "sorry" was what he said. I took the receipt and walked away. So now I am on the hunt for a new morning coffee routine with better service. read more

We made a mistake in our order (on our part, not their's) and not only did the woman (I didn't get her name) make it again, but she upgraded it!! The food used to taste fresh, but the last two times we have ordered it tastes stale. The pizza crust was dry and the tomatoes were overly ripe on Margherita pizza. The Baja bowl was supposed to include chicken and extra avocados. It had neither even though I was charged extra for both. I will say they are speedy getting your order ready. I love that all pastries and bread (even for the sandwiches) are made fresh daily; unfortunately, this means there a potential of them running out of yummy goodies before your arrive, but hey that's how it goes with excellent food!
