I got the club sandwich which was one of the best clubs I have eaten. No processed thin sliced meat here. The ham and Turkey were carved thick slices with Amazing flavor. Enjoyed the French fries which were well seasoned. Being so busy you would think service would be slower, but our server was on it we lacked for nothing and all the staff looked to be on warp speed! When I first moved to Sherman in 2000, I worked at the midway mall at VS for several years. The other ladies and I would stop in quite regularly after shifts. Since about 2015, I'd probably had only been here once or twice. Well, my little sister came in to visit from NYC, and I really wanted to get her out of the house and introduce her to a few of my Texas friends. First, of all it took me forever to think of a place to go where we could have some good drinks and decent food. The Sherman/Denison options are so slim! It's ridiculous. Any whooo- the four us get to city limits during the Texas VS Alabama football game. Due to the large crowd because of the game, we first decided to sit outside. We had a margarita and chips and queso, as the temperature rose we asked our friendly waitress if we could cash out and possibly get a table inside. Since the football game was nearing towards the 3rd quarter some people were clearing out and more inside tables were available. The time is now, approximately 3:00pm, Saturday. We are now settled in, placing our meal orders and other margaritas. The place is VERY lively. Mind you, the Texas game is in full swing. Our waitress brings us our meals, which everyone begins to enjoy. Soon after, the waitress comes back over to our table and informs us- that we are too loud, and everyone is complaining about us. I immediately survey my surroundings. It is at this point, I realize the only difference between my table and the other patrons was, the table were I sat, Sat the only 3 African American people in the restaurant, I'm being racially profiled!!!!!! I asked for a to go box, and my ticket and to speak to the manger, We wrapped our stuff up, and the manager comes over and gives some silly excuse, that the table who complained was gone.... So my thought was- if the table who complained is gone, why bother us with the complaint? The place was so loud, I couldn't even hear her excuses. Everyone is the place was loud! This was during a Texas football game, on a Saturday afternoon! In closing, city limits will never get a dime of my money. I will post this review and tell every person, I know to avoid this place. If I have to go to 54th street grill in McKinney every weekend, I will. I'm so happy Sherman is growing. I can't wait for more businesses to open in Sherman/Denison so this good ol boy sh*t hole can go outta business! read more

Came back today for the first time in 28 years when I was a student at AC, and this time was even better. The food is still delicious, the staff and fellow diners are still as friendly as before, but this time I was actually able to enjoy some fantastic margaritas as well. This place has been a Sherman legend and will always be the place to go for a great time. And the grilled turkey tacos are still amazing. So I came in here on a Friday evening in the middle of the dinner rush. I was surprised at how quickly a part of 4 was seated given how many cars were outside! So upon entry I realized this is exactly what I would expect from a small town watering/hole divey diner in north Texas. The inside was super cool and decked in out in retro sports gear and polaroid photos of patrons from what looked like the 70s and 80s. Super cool and super local! the service here was also pretty darn good. Everybody was super friendly and attentive. All get high marks from me there. On to why I can't rate this location above a 3 star. 1.) I'm in Texas. I should be able to get sweet tea. Fresh brewed tea was available but only in un-sweet. When in TX I want some sweet tea! 2.) I ordered a steak and baked potato which came with a salad. The salad was good enough. The baked potato left room to be desired and my steak thought it was cooked to order, had ZERO flavor. Like none. No salt, pepper, garlic, or even meat really. I was so sad! A huge steak came out and looked so good, just no flavors. I am one who doesn't use steak sauce, but I found myself reaching for A1 to have some spice in my life. The rest of the group all ordered chicken fried steak and fries and they raved about how good it was. So that's a plus. Overall a cool spot that I'd probably try again if in Sherman, TX, I just won't ever get a steak here again. As always, don't just take my word for it. Give it a shot and formulate your own opinions! Service was great, quick, and efficient. Place looks like a friendly local place. BUT Chips were greasy, the salsa was bland and watery (Pace would have been better), and the queso was little league ballpark quality. The burger was bad, and the meat was ok, but the bread was grocery store quality (generic, not the name brand) and the cheese was the shredded kind that you get from a cheap fast food place for your salad.. We were just passing through town on our way back to Houston, and since it was dinner time we yelped this place up and gave it a shot. Its an interesting place with a sports bar kind of interior and friendly staff. So not a bad start for the road trip weary. Then we get to the food. We started with Jalapeno strips, and I found them to be perfect! Nice and crispy and jalapenoy, if that's a word, with just a touch of spice. I had the cheddar burger with a half order of wings instead of fries. I have to say the wings here are much better than expected since it's not really a wing joint, but if said it was a burger joint I wouldn't argue because my burger was excellent! Not sure if we will be back this way, but if we do I'll be trying the chicken fired steak. read more

This place feels like a time travel to the 1970s, complete with little woodgrain salad bowls and a basket of saltines abd club crackers to go with your salad. We had the steak and also shishkabobs-- each cooked perfectly to order. Baked potato was giagantic. Ice tea was so good, just like the old days-- haha. The fish and chips was very good. The atmosphere was a early lunch time. What really stood out for me today was my server Carlee, she greeted me when I walked in the door and let me know I could sit where I liked. Luckily I chose one of her tables. She had such a great attitude, very friendly she made me feel right at home, that was nice since I was by myself. Great service and she wore a smile the whole time. We come here every time we are in the area. We love the chicken fried steak and gravy. The fries are never good. Never look fresh or hot. Very limp and greasy. Third time here and have had the Hickory Burger twice. Flavor is good but the bun is so thin it falls apart and makes the burger hard to eat . In fact the first pick up of the burger out of the basket and half the bottom bun fell off. Buns are way too thin. Beer is good, service ok. BLT and tomato Gouda soup is great. I got here to meet some family for a birthday dinner, it was late and dark outside. Parking was scary, they need some lights since it seems like a frequented place and I parked near the very back of the gravel lot. It was packed for a week night. Stepped inside and it was freaking loud! Seating was quick though, that was awesome. Walking to our table I noticed a chalk board that said they have the Beyond Burger! Score! It's not on the menu though. Food is served in paper plates, waitresses are super cool, but they had no idea what the Beyond Burger was. Maybe need to let them in on it. :) It was tasty! Everyone loved their food. We were happy when a table of 12 tipsy patrons left so we could chat, but looked like they had a great time! We stopped in here on the way back to Dallas from Memorial Day weekend on Lake Texoma. It is only about a 3 min detour off 75 and it is totally worth it. The chicken friend steak I ordered with the gravy on the side was awesome. They even made it extra crispy for me. I had an ice cold shiner and my babe got the Denny's margarita. I had to follow suit after tasting one sip of hers. I chugged my beer and ordered one. They are badass. We got the jalapeño strips which are the perfect amount of spice and the ranch is off the chain. My babe got the fish and chips and they were really amazing too. This is a place we eat at often, at least once a month. For years. Great food, great prices and up until recently l, fantastic service. Last month we were there, and waited over an hour for our food. The waitress apologized and explained they weee short staffed in the kitchen, and honestly I was fine with it. Stiff like that happens. No big deal. We paid out full bill with a generous tip and chalked it up to just a rough day at the restaurant. Today we went in for lunch (got there early to avoid the rush). Ordered our food and then proceeded to wait nearly an hour (53 min) before I finally had to ask for our food to be packed up to go. Several other tables had come, eaten and left after us. Not much of an apology other than "it's not my fault!! We had a big to go order!" We paid our check before the food came and then had to eat in the car on our way home. I'm taking a long break from this place. Love your food. Can't see paying $50 for a lunch that I have to wait an hour for and eat in the car. Sorry it is like this. About fifteen minutes after ordering, the "expo" comes to tell me they ran out of buttermilk and an owner went to get more. They said it wouldn't be long. So I waited. My fiancé went ahead, at my insistence, and ate. Forty five minutes later I finally was told they could make my dinner and I asked for it to go. Initially they forgot my salad.
