This time I came in looking for a "dremel' type tool to do some grinding. Was checking it out then a clerk came over and offered help. Then asked if I had a drill and suggested the bits with grinding stone on it. Duh it never even crossed my mind to go this route, saved me a lot of money. Came here and this city mill needs help they are so under staffed there was one cashier while the other workers was on the floor i think they need some help I was stuck thier so long i told the guys at my job to take an early lunch because they could not start the roof without the propane and even waiting for the person to come and fill up he took very long maybe they were really busy but I think they are short staffed i really hope they are helped good thing i shut the job down for lunch was about 47 minutes read more

This is the worst store that has ever existed! I live across the street from this store and their store alarm goes off EVERY SINGLE NIGHT! in the evening when we are trying to sleep. Tonight it has been going off for 1 hour and 3 min. I have called the cops numerous times. How can we get this to stop!?! This is so disrupting and right in the middle of a very residential neighborhood. I have video from tonight and will be bring legal action in the near future. Boycott this store! read more

Grand Opening Day. Let the festivities begin! We didn't stay for all the giveaways and hoopla but we did manage to find some really great deals in a fairly large store. Aisles were large and everything was clean and neat. Plenty of customer service everywhere you turned. They randomly asked me if I needed help. My husband was rather excited at their selection of electrical hardware. I dunno how to even elaborate on that, but he doesn't get excited about anything...so this must be impressive. =) I did wish they had more selection. I understand it's not a home depot or lowes, but it would be nice to have a high end and low end of choices. I felt like City Mill only carried the low end models of everything. So I guess if you're looking for good deals and don't want to drive too far for the bigger chains, then City Mill is a good place to stop. read more

It happened to be my birthday, and I needed my sliding screen door repaired. I took it to City Mill in Ewa. I was helped by an associate by the name of JP. As I'm completing my contact information, signing and dating the form, I realize I've dated the form with the year I was born, instead of 2015! The associate sees this and we both chuckle. He wishes me happy birthday. He quotes store policy of 3-5 days for completion of my screen door and I leave, not expecting to get my door for days. About 5 hours later, my phone rings from an unknown number. I pick up and hear a man singing happy birthday to me, followed by, "This is JP at City Mill and your screen door is ready." My experience there was fantastic as this sales associate went above and beyond his normal day to day job description by singing happy birthday to me, but also with the quick efficient service he gave. This is the third time that I've attempted to say hey I'll try citymill instead of Home Depot or Lowe's and this is the third time where I walked out with nothing. I don't understand the store what are they trying to be. The quality of the products they have a pretty bad. Today I wanted to get some moving packing paper something that Lowe's and Home Depot both carry and I try to find someone help me locate it after I looked around the store which in my opinion is chaotically setup. once I found the person they had no idea what moving packing paper was. when I asked the second employee they said why would we have that. Admittedly, I've never stepped foot inside a City Mill until this one was built conveniently down the road from my house. I must say I was quite impressed. It's like a miniature version of my favored Home Depot. However, I'll probably be more inclined to frequent City Mill as opposed to driving to Home Depot in Kapolei. Not only was City Mill clean (thanks in large part to it being brand new) but the employees were seemingly nice and helpful. More than one employee asked if I needed assistance, and in a hardware store, 9 times out of 10 I probably do. Needless to say, I am now a fan and will come here more often than not. read more

This review is based solely on their customer service. I've never had a reason to go here until I couldnt find a specific light bulb for my daughters' ceiling fan. I've searched at other hardware stores (further away from home, btw) to no avail. Came here on a whim and actually found the exact one. Although it was at the bottom of the shelf, all the way in the back, we managed to find it. From the moment we entered the store, til the time we left we felt very welcomed. Literally (well not literally) but every (other) turn into an aisle, I ran into an associate that asked if we were ok and if we needed help finding something. Being it was our first time there, we asked where a few things were and we went on our merry way. The store was very neat and items are easy to find. I would definitely come here again, cause it is much closer to home than the other hardware stores. Not sure how their prices are compared to their competitors since I don't go to these kinds of stores too often, so you can make your own judgment on that. Located in the back left corner of Laulani Village (if you're on the main road), City Mill is one of the new stores we have here in Ewa Beach. There is a LOT of parking. The place itself (Laulani Village) is incomplete so I'm assuming they made parking to accommodate for all of that. The set up is pretty clever. One way in, one way out. And it's very much like a maze to get out (unless you jump counters lol). The staff is very attentive and even though not all of them know exactly what you're trying to look for is called, they will follow us around and help in any other way that they can. I appreciate that a lot. This store is pretty big, I think. I could walk around in there for a good hour falling in love with all the ceiling fans and grills lol. They have some good deals every now and then, so be sure to keep an eye out for em! I absolutely love the smell of the place. It smells so..handy. LOL, I'm a tinker. /geek I have only used cash there but I know they do take card as well. read more

You know what's great about City Mill? It's like a Home Depot except it only carries the stuff you actually want to buy. Sometimes you just need one light bulb - not 505 different varieties over several aisles - you know? I'm always in and out of this store quicker than an Oreo dunk. Stuff is easy to find and the workers are friendly. This is also the go-to place in the area for grill tanks. Very easy service and you don't have to walk 10 minutes through a parking lot to get the job done. You ever notice how many handicap spaces they have at Lowe's? I'm not sure what I'm missing here. Seems like more than necessary. Unless people are getting bored quickly when they're hurt and decide ah heck with it - I'll just start building stuff. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!! Don't waste your time at City Mill Ewa Beach. Went to return an item that I just bought, the guy at the return desk made me feel so insignificant and disrespected. He helped more people in the purchase line that arrived after me. This experience continued to disturb me after leaving the store so I called to speak to a manager to explain the situation, and after being on hold for 8 minutes with no answer, I didn't want to waste anymore of my time and hung up. I've always been a loyal customer. I'll never shop at City Mill in Ewa Beach again. I'll drive to Home Depot or Lowe's no matter how far the drive. read more

I love supporting Local Hawaiian businesses and even more Ewa Beach based businesses. I just wish they offered some more competitive prices with Home Depot and Lowes. They need a website where you can price things to compare. This store is in an area with a ton of military. A military discount would bring lots of business instead of losing it to Home Depot in Kapolei. I admit that I only buy very small minor things here and not any big ticket items because of their lack of price match and military discount programs. A few changes can bring much more revenue here! read more

Ever called a business establishment to ask a question only to be placed on hold? That should be the norm since your call may have to be transferred to the right department so you can receive an accurate answer. That should be expected however being placed on hold for 8 plus minutes without anyone coming back to assist you is not acceptable at all. At first I gave them the benefit of the doubt that they are busy or may be short handed but no one came back on the phone to help. You want to help support the local Hawaii businesses as much as possible but this type of customer service is very poor. You'd think that every customer should be very valuable especially in the competitive home improvement industry but this City Mill obviously doesn't think so. This type of poor service may be isolated to this location but I wouldn't recommend calling or visiting this City Mill since this exhibition of poor customer service may be evident in person as well. read more

Since this City Mill Location is Fairly New, there's not really Much to say, Except it is more Convenient for People who Live in the Ewa Beach Area! This location is located right across from the Hawaii Prince Golf Club, and at the Other end of the Shopping Mall. Safeway is at the Beginning! They do have the "Basics" if you're just doing Minor Repairs on your Home, there is a Garden Shop, but it is Small. The Workers are Helpful, The Store is Clean...Like I said it is a Fairly New Store so I'll give it a few Months to a Year to do an Update on this Store. If you are looking to do Painting, or Major Repairs the next Home Repair Store is in Kapolei which is The Home Depot! read more

I went to 4 stores looking for a security door because I bought a house that had a cheap, crappy, puka-kine plastic mesh one. In Lowe's (Waikele) a worker who was sitting at a desk with some chick that obviously was his acquaintance, not customer, only asked if I needed help when I was visibly frustrated (trying to find a *reasonably* priced one.) He made me feel like I was interrupting his sit-down-and-socialize time. I whipped out my smartphone to compare with Home Depot's prices. They were about the same, and even though I had a 10 percent Lowe's coupon from moving addresses, I still didn't want to give them my money. I went to Home Depot Kapolei, and female workers were right beside me just talking amongst themselves and ignored me. Strike two. I don't go to Ewa Beach often, but I went to the new City Mill in Ewa Beach, and I'm glad I did: I got greeted as soon as I walked in. And as I made my way through the store, I was greeted and got a genuinely warm smile from EVERY employee I passed and wasn't made to feel like I was bothering anyone. I recently had paint mixed there with a sample from my ceiling and after I painted the spots on the ceiling, the paint doesn't even remotely match. I'm going to be going to home depot from now on for paint. Also when I need hardware the bolts I need are always out of stock. They don't seem to replenish the hardware bins when they get low. read more

I live a few miles from the City Mill in Ewa Beach. I frequent the store regularly although for more unusual items I don't try and head straight for Home Depot. Well yesterday I needed some paint thinner. Pretty simple so even though I was in Kapolei, I skipped Home Depot and headed home to Ewa Beach to stop at City Mill. We when I got there I found a sign on the door saying they were closed for their employee holiday party. There were three other customers standing at the front door trying to figure this out too. Great! Disappointment all your customers so you can party. Look, I work in retail. I know it means long hours and little opportunity to get everyone together for an event. It can, however, be done without inconveniencing and disappointing your customers! I will never trust them again and will probably choose Home Depot first next time! read more

I was up against the gun to create custom wooden floral vases from scratch. Armed with just a sketch and dimensions on a notepad, I entered unfamiliar world of building supplies. Dizzy with wood choices, I felt overwhelmed until a knight in shiny armor came to save the day. His nametag read "Chris D." but it should have read "Jesus Christ" because he pulled off a miracle! He helped me choose the wood, corrected my measurements, found the right nails and not only cut every piece I needed to make 5 40" tall boxes to display my floral arrangements, but he checked to be sure they would be sturdy enough to stay standing in the approaching storm predicted to come on the day of my outdoor event. He even went beyond his duties by helping me build one sample box to be sure it was going to be perfect, and it was. I purchased $150 worth of supplies which he helped load into my tiny kia rio 4 dr car. KUDOS to CITY MILL Ewa Beach for their excellent training and hiring regime which helped bring Chris D. to the rescue. On July 30th at approximately 2:30PM I shopped at the Ewa Beach City Mill for aluminum rivets & washers and folding chairs. As I entered the area where I thought the rivets and washers would be a young man approached and offered to help me. I asked about the rivets and washers and he took me directly to where they were and assisted me in selection of the correct size for the project I was working on. I then inquired about the 4-pack chairs which were advertised. Again he guided me to where they were, confirmed that I wanted 1 4-pack and told me that he'd meet me at the cashier station. While I was paying for my purchase he volunteered that he would take them to my car for me. I told the Cashier; if this guy is not the Store Manager, he should be! Max stars simply because of the anti big box experience. I don't feel semi-lost; there are clear overhead signs telling you which product is where. I feel I am a customer: someone will ask you if you need help, eventually. I am not overwhelmed; the place is small (relative to the orange store and the blue store), cozy even. Also the place is not overstuffed with things I don't really need. It's convenient; I am an Ocean Pointe resident, so this place saves me the trip to Kapolei to the orange store. Handy, as when I'm in the middle of a diy and find I don't have a part or a tool. It might cost less, but factor in the fuel cost of the drive, it's all the same. The small town feel. Yeah.
