But the most unfortunate part of the experience was some male employee trying to rush us out the door before we even paid. Pretty place with excellent service. Welcoming and comfortable and clean. Fairly limited menu (their wine and cocktail list is far more comprehensive than their menu) but interesting. The appetizers were good and a nice size for sharing. The risotto was delicious and the greens were very fresh. The meatloaf was okay, a little over complicated for my taste and heavy on thyme, but okay. Our tab was $150 and I would definitely come again and would recommend to others. read more

This restaurant is very close to where I live and I've wanted to try it. Me and a couple friends ate a early dinner, the portions are decent size and all the items we tried were good. You will probably need a reservation just to be safe.. we had the truffle fries, fried green tomatoes, pork chop ( tender and juicy), a pasta dish (it was green), and a salad. I may go back again I just enjoy going else where to eat because people in Covington like to stay in Covington so it's always crowded. Not to say the food isn't worth it but I don't like crowds. We have wanted to try this forever as we are locals. Covington, on the Square, has atmosphere that can't be beat. We made a reservation because every other time we have come by, it was packed. The best part of the meal was the peel and eat shrimp. It was nicely spiced and the cocktail sauce was unique and just enough zip! It was also served with what seemed to be tartar sauce, which was very odd for steamed shrimp. Just horseradish on the side would have been better and made more sense. I generally am a plant based eater, and online the menu showed a cavatini pasta which I would have selected but it was no longer on the menu. I didn't even see any good choices for vegetarian, vegan or plant based eaters. Sad. I chose the pan seared chicken. The white meat was very dry and tough but the leg portion was tasty. It was served over Gouda grits which were pretty thin. Lots of large whole olives. I honestly can't put my finger on the seasoning and we cook A LOT! My husband chose the stuffed trout. It was pretty heavy on the cream based sauce. Other than that it was just "fine," he said. We skipped on out and probably won't be back. I'm sad but the food at R.L.'s, which is no longer in business, was much better. We did have two nice wines, an Argentinian Malbec for him and an Italian Rose' for me. The service was good and the waitress even allowed us to taste the wine before we committed. I appreciate that. I came here with a group of 6 for brunch last Saturday, and oh man City Pharmacy blew me away! This location is in downtown Covington, which is a super cute area with plenty of parking. We got there right at 11am and were seated right away. They were able to accomodate my group of 6 and our waitress was super sweet. We all had brunch cocktails, and they checked each of our IDs. I had gin/berry drink and it was pretty good, just a little too strong for a Saturday morning. I had the jalapeno cheddar biscuit and it was so good! The cheddar biscuit was flavorful and buttery. The fried chicken on the biscuit was some of the best that I've had. The biscuit also has pimento cheese, which is super creamy. The potatoes were pretty good as well and they come with onions and bell pepper. Portions were large. I couldn't finish my meal, so I took half back with me. My boyfriend had the meatloaf, which he really enjoyed. Everyone at our table seemed to be content with their meals. Definitely recommend! read more

The restaurant was setting up for a semi-private event. But, it didn't disrupt the regular service and experience. Now, let's talk about the food. It's brunch time and it was my first time experiencing their brunch service. The bacon was made perfectly! I believe it was baked which is the way I prefer. It's a thick cut and very tender. Chicken sausage was a little too bland for my taste. I also prefer a more seared sausage. The BBQ Shrimp and Grits were good, but I'd prefer the gouda grits alone. The BBQ sauce and sausage were sweet and i prefer a more savory shrimp and grits. I like to get out of my comfort zone, so I tried it anyway. I would definitely get the gouda grits again without the accompaniment of the shrimp, sausage, and gravy. They were creamy and well made with enough gouda to flavor without overpowering the grits. Finally, the coffee was good. I tried it black first to check its standalone flavor. I could definitely drink it black. It's strong with a nice flavor profile, but not bitter. Just had a fantastic evening at City Pharmacy! 5 in our party with a 6:00 reservation. We did have a wait but the craft cocktails were delicious and we enjoyed that time, being seated at 6:40. Once seated, our server Amanda was friendly, took good care of us, and showed attention to detail. We had casually mentioned that my son and future DIL had recently gotten engaged. Amanda brought them champagne! We shared raw oysters, fried green tomatoes, and salmon croquette as appetizers. All delicious! The entrees we ordered were two burgers, pork chop, meat loaf, and ribeye. Each of us thoroughly enjoyed our choices!!! The accompaniments were perfect, and we ordered extra sides (smoked grits, roasted brussels, potato purée) which everyone liked as well. It was our first time we were super excited for my husband's birthday, but the experience was not what we expected. Our food took about an hour with reservations. We ordered two harvest salads, chicken and rice special and the short rib plate. The chicken and rice was crunchy and when they remade it, it was worse the same crunchy rice drenched in sauce. The salads were wilted with hard, dry, taste-less room-temp chicken, the short rib was OK, was warm after all that time it could've at least came out hot! We won't be back. read more

The waitress was very friendly and answered all our questions on specials. We started with draft anchor steam and pilsner beer. We had the following and shared: Fried chicken with waffle and collard green- the sweetness of the waffle went well with crispy chicken and salty collard green Smoked salmon special - salmon went well with the cream cheese crackers and watercress salad Mac and cheese with roasted cauliflower and sausage- was very creamy and it went well with roasted cauliflower Local mixed green- liked green was served with a slice of brie cheese We finished off with coca cola float and banana cream pie and African nectar tea. We understood they are busy, but we didn't have any update on our food or wasn't gave more water after we ran out. I asked what I should get for a drink and he responded "no clue, just met you" I was just wanting a recommendation. It was a pretty place to eat. The servers were just not friendly, and made us feel stupid for being there.
