Usually I don't start with service but I'm going to. This is a little take of how two things can be true at the same time. 1. Our waitress was Bry. She was attentive and friendly. She made menu recommendations, including drink selection. We were very pleased with her. She helped save this review. However, we almost didn't meet Bry, because of the bad service we encountered at the front door. We came in and there was no one there and no sign. I saw a bartender engaged in conversation with friends/patrons. It looked like they were headed out as they had boxes and were standing. I gave her time to see us. She didn't acknowledge us and just kept right on laughing. I waited another beat then said, "excuse me, is it seat yourself?" The bartender first did a eye roll and then just stared at me like I had rudely interrupted. So I stared back. After a good while, she said, "is it seat yourself? Yes." I should have left but we had just gotten off the road after driving to Wisconsin and we were hungry and didn't want to brave the cold so soon again. Her bad attitude could have and should have cost them customers. The food was very mid. If you go here it's for the vibes and drinks but not the food. Atmosphere was nice. Screens, hookah, it wasn't too loud, so that worked well. They have Happy Hour until 7 on Saturday's and I thought that was nice.

The ambiance is just what I wanted. Driving from Chicago to celebrate my 46th birthday in Milwaukee. This was the place to be. Catfish was delicious Hookah vibes were great and the service was excellent

SERVICE: Once again, my waitress was Bri. She was fantastic as usual. I came here to meet up with some friends for some Cinco de Mayo festivities. She was very timely and getting us our food and the bill. FOOD: Given the holiday, there were a lot of specials. I got the three tacos for $10 special. It was really good. The tacos were loaded to the brim. And it came with guacamole, sour cream, green salsa, and red salsa. DRINK: City Social had a drink special of a $25 margarita flight. They had a wide range of flavors. I believe I got the pineapple, strawberry and mango. For the margaritas to be from a premade mix they were very strong drinks. In total, I spent $56 on this meal. Was well worth it.

I took an Amtrak trip to Milwaukee for my birthday and this was the first meal. I walked to the public market but it was pretty busy so I walked to City Social. I was immediately greeted when I walked in, the bartender was friendly and even gave me recommendations for my trip, the vibe was nice. It was lunch time and also happy hour (12-7) so I ordered from that menu. It was my first time in Milwaukee so I had to have cheese curds and they were excellent, I also got a shrimp and catfish basket which was delicious. Perfectly fried and seasoned and the perfect amount for $8, I came back and had it again before catching my train back to Chicago. The bathroom could've been cleaner and I wish hookah was in a designated area, I don't prefer hookah smoking especially while I'm eating. There is auto gratuity while I didn't mind because service was great both times, I also loved the ease of scanning the receipt to pay. Overall I would certainly return.

They do a tremendous job of explaining the menu and food options in detail, and ensure you have a great experience from start to finish. The drinks? Nothing short of amazing. They vary the featured cocktails menu every 8 weeks, so most likely you'll get a different experience every time you go. However you can always get your classic cocktails like Margaritas, French 75 and Martinis. They also can do any drink NA which is the first of its kind in the US. They have an option called dealers choice, where you can pick the spirit and flavor profile of the drink you want: spicy, sour, floral, smoky etc. no limits! You write down on a card what you want and they craft you a cocktail based on your selections. They also offer a variety of food pairings to go along with the select, featured drink you order. We got spring rolls, a braised, pork infused doughnut, and an incredible bone broth that still has me in a tizzy. Fair warning: it's small and difficult to get a reservation - don't try your luck walking in, this place is a hot ticket and you won't be able to get in without a resy, which could be weeks or months out. This is a true gem of a cocktail bar, and is as good as anything you would find in New York or Chicago.

Sunday winter evenings seem to be a slower time at the Crossroads Collective, so we were able to easily get a seat right at the bar. The service was completely lovely and the prices are pretty reasonable. Get to it!

It'll turn you into a cheese connoisseur if you're not already one. I fell in love with Gouda cheese as soon as I took a bite. We tried a classic cheese flight board and red wine only flight to pair with the different types of cheese. They made it into a gluten free spread so we had four types of cheese in lieu of the seasoned dried meat and gluten free crackers. The place is inviting, has nice decorations, great for going on a date or a casual catch up with your bestie. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They knew so much about wine and cheese, I would want a whole Documentary on cheese. You can also purchase cheese and other goodies to go! Come on Thursdays, they have a discount on cheese boards!

The space is cozy and dim and well decorated. The staff are always kind. some are more helpful or informative than others. You can pair the cheeses with every drink on the menu or try pre-paired boards. You can also buy cheeses from the dairy and others, as well as assorted related products at a small retail section or cut fresh from the cheese case. Parking is on the street and can be a pain in this saturated area. The reason for the drop in stars? Prior visits got you more wines and more food to pair it with. This visit had prices steady but fewer wines, less cheese and $1 upcharge for some wafer crackers. I know the economy is not great right now, but this now seems like an expensive place to bring friends, not a reasonable day outing.
