Loved the Italian Hot Dog (2 wieners, fries, onion, green pepper, mustard ketchup), and very liked the Wood Street Cheesesteak (garlic, mushroom, onion, American) and the small standard cheesesteak (simple @ $6.99). There's a pound of beef in a whole sandwich, and half pound in the halfer. The rolls are soft and pliable from Old World Bakery in Southampton. Service is personable and friendly. Always a story to be heard over the steel grill. Be sure to ask about Burlington Island and the amusement park that occupied the 90 acre parcel midstream in the Delaware River at the turn of the 20th Century. It is quite a story of amazing local color. Five well grilled Stars for this great piece of local history and cuisine.

I decided to try the chicken Wood Street cheesesteak. So much meat. The roll was fresh. I loved the mushrooms but the fresh garlic was strong. I liked it. I wasn't expecting the flavor. It was dry and I didn't realize I was out of ketchup at home. I used the marinara sauce from the mozzarella sticks. That helped. It wasn't bad but there wasn't too much juiciness or cheese. But that happens with chicken......not a lot of grease. Lol BTW the mozzarella sticks were awesome. That will be my go-to! We picked up and brought take out home. And they were still gooey!!!!!!! I would definitely get them again!!!

    Simply amazing!

First things first, the customer service is unmatched! Kim was friendly and exudes professionalism! The ambience in City Steaks reminded me of a nostalgic feeling of when I use to visit the sandwich shop on the corner to get a hoagie and cheesesteak! I ordered a cheesesteak w fried onions and ketchup. I couldn't wait to get home to try this sandwich--just to see what the hype was all about! Let me just say... the hype is right! Seasoned well, delicious, the bread was soft and moist. Talk about melt in your mouth! My steak was juicy and the flavor...mmmm mmm good! If you haven't visited City Steaks you're missing out!

OMG!!! This was my first visit to City Steaks In Burlington and I LOVED it!!!! I was hungry and wanted to treat my Sister to lunch and she wanted a steak sandwich from City Steaks. I drove past many places just to get to City Steaks. She kept saying "Sis they have the BEST steak sandwiches and the bread is so good", you're going to love it! The one thing she didn't mention is the staff is AWESOME, FRIENDLY and they have their OWN soft BEVERAGE drink as well!! I had a chance to meet and talk to Kim (the Owner's wife and really the Boss, she was super friendly, welcoming and brought out my energy to want to do this post. I, also, talked to the owner, their son and, Kim's friend too. They all were in the kitchen cooking, packaging and getting my foods ready!!!! EXCELLENT SERVICE!!!! YES!!!! This is THE BEST steak that I have had in New Jersey!!! I WILL go back again soon to try their American Hoagie because it has all the meats on it that should be on an American Hoagie!! I do recommend City Steaks to my family, friends and, NOW, the World too!! Thank you City Steaks for making my foods with sooooo much love and great service!!!

Best cheesesteak I've had. Great bread, excellent flavor and it was giant!

This is clearly a hometown favorite. And I'm glad I spotted it in my time around the area. The family running through place appears to know just about all of their customers name and order and by the time I left I felt like I was one of them. Be prepared for a little bit of a wait as they appear busy most evenings. But don't let that steer you away just call ahead.

Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich - This was the biggest disappointment. The chicken breast was extremely thick and had a grainy texture that made me wonder if it was chicken breast with rib meat. If that's the case, it gives the impression that quality isn't a priority. The breading also fell off with almost every bite, and the sandwich wasn't well proportioned (one oversized tomato slice that wasn't cut evenly). Most importantly, it didn't taste like Nashville hot at all -- more like "Nashville not." Shrimp Po' Boy - Below average. The shrimp had a slightly fishy taste, and the bread didn't resemble proper po' boy bread. The greens were a spring mix, which felt like an odd choice. Traditional shredded lettuce would have worked much better. I've had po' boys in Louisiana, and while I wasn't expecting complete authenticity, I was expecting something closer to the spirit of the dish. This version missed the mark. Smash Burger - Probably the best of the three mains we ordered, but still just average. I've honestly had better smash burgers at chains like Shake Shack. Sides: The fries were great. We ordered the beer cheese sauce, which was fine but not necessary. The onion rings were the standout -- perfectly crispy with a clean bite. The homemade ranch served with them was excellent. Overall, I really wanted to like this place more, but the food didn't deliver enough for me to return.

The beer cheese was not the best and the pork roll a bit too chunky didn't make a perfect bite. As always they rock the chicken sandwiches out of the park. The staff was kind and knowledgeable. They offered some samples of items and were a great conversation. They offer gift boxes, cheese boards and catering. Their website states they offer classes and private events. I ended up with a jar of Noccioliva - Hazelnuts and cocoa join together with extra virgin olive oil in this silken chocolate cream $18 and change (delicious, puts our US version of Nutella to shame), French black cherry jam from La Maison du Piment - made with only rare cerises noires (black cherries) harvested near the village of Itxassou in the French Basque Country, cane sugar, lemon juice and pectin and local wildflower strawberry honey from A-Frame Apiary in Boyertown. They picked a perfect spot in Bristol Borough that they seemed to have partnered with Naked Brewing on. If you have kids the downstairs area is ok, but with live music I had to take my son upstairs to preserve our hearing! We found parking in the large municipal lot behind the building. Upstairs we found cozier seating at a high top table with service. Downstairs I believe you have to walk up to the bar or just sit at the bar for service. I also don't believe the full beer menu is available downstairs. The menu is full of tempting toppings and styles with your choice of regular/footlong dogs, hot sausage or kielbasa. I had a hot sausage with pepper hash and coleslaw. It had a snappy skin, decent heat and was delicious when paired with the sweet coleslaw and pepper hash. My friend ordered frank and tots and reported it to be delicious and filling. My son had a regular dog and we all shared a big pretzel with beer cheese. I had an IPA named Thank Frank that was about average for a West Coast style IPA and my pal had a couple of their darker offerings that he wasn't impressed with. Our server was nice and gave a great recommendation to add the pepper hash. She wasn't the fastest at coming to check on our beers so we bailed. I had one and she never asked if I wanted another and never refilled our waters. Prices weren't too bad. I would definitely return for some more of the interesting creations on the dawg menu, but the brews are really nothing special. Good solid time here and kid friendly, not so great service or beer.

I realize that inflation is a thing, but they've gone above and beyond what other shops are charging. On my most recent visit, I got a chicken cutlet sub (Primo sized) which weighed in around 17 ounces, and cost $15.99. Bottom line is that when considering the price per ounce, Primo Hoagies is higher than most other places that I get subs from, but their quality is at best on par with, and often lower than, other places I frequent. You can usually find a $2 off coupon to make the price a bit more reasonable, but I just can't be bothered. There are just too many other options for better sandwiches at better prices near me to justify going to Primo Hoagies anymore. If you want to charge a premium price, you need to offer something that's way better than the competition. Primo Hoagies ain't it. The corned beef hoagie at Marinucci's Deli is incomparable. It is layered with paper thin slices that are rich but never heavy. The dressing is balanced, the coleslaw adds a nice tang, and the shredded lettuce brings a fresh crunch that ties it all together. That's not enough. If you're from Philly you know that none of the above matters if your bread sucks. Well... Marinucci's offers seeded and unseeded rolls that are incredible. Please join me in thanking baby Buddha for this crusty, chewy yet fluffy vessel of perfection. The hoagie is massive, about the length of two of my hands long, and consistently excellent from first bite to last. I never watched Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones because every last loser on earth was all about it. The Beatles fucking suck and Bruce Springsteen can go shit in his hat. Pumpkin spice is for pumpkin pie and that's it, no matter what these dizzy suburban women say. So the decision to visit Johnny Longhots today was based entirely on poor reviews. The guy who ordered a sandwich to the hospital and found a cheesesteak to be "greasy" deserves to contract MRSA during his stay. The dope who complained his fries were soggy ordered his shit off Door Dash. He's lucky the driver didn't eat all of his fries. The folks who called out the teenagers who are getting their first experience working can all get bent. You weren't perfect when you had your first job. Don't forget people like you willingly locked kids in their homes during covid. It's no wonder some of them struggle with social skills and working under pressure. Have a little grace, then eat a bag of dicks for not being patient to them. Don't get me started on that dipshit from Brooklyn. That person who rated the place a one for the soda? I already know who you vote for. Onto the food - the menu is huge. There are a ton of choices with something for just about everyone. There's even gluten free options for those fucking people. There were four or five sandwiches in the running, but it was the Gritty Cheesesteak that ultimately won out on my first visit. And that's a strange decision for me because the Flyers stink and their fans are even worse. They're the worst organization in hockey. Maybe I just wanted fries on my sandwich. Yea - that's it. So the Gritty is a good amount of beef, fries tossed in Old Bay and topped with white cheddar cheese sauce atop a seeded roll. I added fried onions. The sandwich scores higher than the Flyers. I was a fan of the seeded roll which was super fresh. The cheese sauce was tasty and complemented the fries really well. They were super crispy, well seasoned and plentiful. The beef wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was tender and cooked well. All-in-all a good sandwich. The gals up front were attentive and friendly. They took my order quickly. Hats off to the kitchen for getting my food out promptly among the online orders. The place was pretty clean and had a ton of Philly Sports pics on the wall. The music on the radio was some throwback stuff - thank God it wasn't any of that mumble rap shit most kids play these days. Johnny's has a bunch of lunch specials that look worthwhile and a decent value. Locally owned spot worth giving your business to. It's a 4-star review from me that gets bumped to a 5 to spite the mopes who gave it a one.
