I come here every time I stay at the Marriott Villas. CJS is the closest reasonably priced breakfast place and the food is pretty good. It's located in an industrial center. Parking is easy. The restaurant itself is a little divey diner, nothing special. Today I got the Polish Sausage and Eggs which came with hash brown and toast. I also ordered banana pecan pancakes which were good. Others at my table got the breakfast burrito and Corned Beef Hash and Eggs. Typical breakfast food at a good price. read more

If I could lower on my stars, I would. July 4th, 2018, 12:32pm. Read all the reviews about great service and food. We pulled in for lunch. We were seated promptly, there were four tables with customers who were already eating. A nice man brought us waters and we reviewed the menu. Figured out what we wanted and sat waiting for a waitress. We waited and waited. Two waitresses on duty both behind the counter counting tips and messing with the computer. Two young ladies came in, the nice gent who poured us water seated them directly in the booth behind us. A full 18mins has passed, a young waitress passed us and goes to the table behind us asking if the ladies who just sat down, if they were ready or if they needed more time. By the way, this was the same waitress who seated us. That was enough for us, we got up and walked out. Seemed like you had to know someone to get service. Not sure why the lack of attention, maybe they have too much business and don't need to add to their success, either way won't be back. read more

I don't do a lot of reviews, but this place earned it. We were staying at the Marriott around the corner, and just tried this place by chance. We were pleasantly surprised by the friendly waitstaff and quality food. It's not 5 star gourmet. It is 5 star homestyle food. I had the corned beef hash with eggs, hash browns, and rye toast. I was really disgusted by the handling of the toast and food presentation line in the restaurant. The waitresses who handle the money and credit cards grab the bread right out of the bag without washing the hands or using gloves and put it in the toaster. They then grab it out of the toaster with bare hands and put it on the plate. This is a major health code violation and caused me to debate even eating the sub par salad I ordered. Not only that but one waitress rubbed her nose then proceeded to stick her hand in the bread bag. I would not recommend this place, and do recommend looking up their health code violations before eating there. read more

I'd say this is a local type place given its setting in an industrial park. It is a typical diner/ breakfast cafe in ambience and menu. When we went I had pancakes and my wife had eggs and bacon so we did a basic breakfast thing. My pancakes were overdone and had a burnt taste. The bacon was very well done, pretty much burnt as well. The eggs were fine. Since there are plenty of options clos by we won't go back, said would guess that others might have a better meal so it might be worth a chance. read more

"There's a new Sheriff in town, name's Reggie Hammond!" It's not the easiest place to find. As a matter of fact, you downright gotta HUNT for it. But it's worth it!! Well, neither of those is this place's style but I guarantee the service is very friendly and the food is damn good. The GF was satisfied as can be with her Banana/Pecan pancakes and I was as happy as a Pig in S**T with my corned beef hash. For ONCE, the eggs were done RIGHT!!! Waitress asked me "How do you want your eggs?" to which I replied "SCARY!!" I got a laugh out of her as she said she likes her eggs the same way.. No cellophane from a too hot grill, and the CBH came with just the right crust on its surface. Nice fresh fruit too!! Did I just land in "Munchkin Land"? The huge slabs of turkey ~gobbled~ as I cut my first bite, then "I" gobbled the rest of the sammich with hardly a word uttered from my all too verbose lips and without reserve. "Raylene", the very nice owner came over and chatted with us when we were recognized as "Yelpers", for the place was filled with "Cochella Yelpers" on their way to the festival. Dined here around noon on a weekday and somehow stayed a little over 2 hours because the service was terrible. An hour had passed, still hadn't gotten our food, and they tell us there was no more gravy for biscuits and gravy. So we wait another 30 minutes for a meal that essentially took 10-15 minutes tops to eat. At one point I asked a different waitress about our food and she blew me off and told me to find my waitress. Terrible service and the food was nothing special. Never coming here again nor do I recommend this garbage diner. read more

Great food, quick wait time even though they were packed. The owner personally came out to set up the silverware and chatted with us. The wait staff was very friendly and approachable! We were looking for a good local's breakfast place and found it here at CJ's. I had the French toast which was on thick bread and very tasty. The orange juice was like fresh squeezed and the hash browns crispy and delicious. My husband had an omelet and said it was cooked just right. The coffee was good and the waitress extremely friendly. One was prepared wrong and the other was prepared correctly but it was dry as the desert I was in . To most most importantly was the lack of friendliness in the diner. Great find for breakfast! It's nestled off the Main Street behind some businesses. I had their all meat omelette which came with hash browns and toast. Finished it all! I don't eat hash browns a lot but their hash towns were pretty good, which was also the concerns us of my family. The kids menu items were generous, my ten year old was satisfied. My other daughter could only finish half of her breakfast burrito because she was so full. Generally I would have finished it off but I was pretty full from my meal. Wifey had the two egg breakfast and she gave it a thumbs up. The staff provided good customer service and was very friendly, plus they kept my coffee cup full! read more

This is the best grilled veggie sandwich I've ever had! I came with a big party before our basketball game. I'm a vegetarian so I've had a lot of veggie sandwiches. This was by far the best. Even then, we still had to flag our waitress down to ask for them. Secondly, the price category should be more like 2 dollar signs, not 1. It was Saturday morning and there were no lines, and we were seated promptly. Reasonable price for breakfast, simple menu, nothing too fancy. Service was good. I ordered scrambled eggs, dry. Not only were they NOT dry, but they weren't even scrambled medium, and were very runny. I didn't notify the server of this, so they had no chance to correct it. I mentioned it after the meal (I ate everything anyway) and was assured that if we return, the server would make sure the eggs were cooked to order. Otherwise, a typical greasy spoon. read more
