Came here before going to Kin Thai which is across the street. First off, this bar reminds me of a Cheers type of bar. Everyone is nice and the drinks can't be beat. 1Star but should be 0 Stars, I rarely ever this low of a star, but this was an Absolutely terrible and horrifying experience at this dive bar called Clancy's in Long Beach. From the moment we walked in, our waitress had an awful attitude--no greeting, just a scowl. We ordered wings, fries, and a salad with blue cheese dressing. The salad arrived with brown, wilted lettuce, and the blue cheese dressing was so clumpy it looked spoiled. When my fiancé politely sent the salad back, the owner/manager became visibly offended and got right in my fiancé's face, escalating the situation instead of resolving it. "saying it was nothing wrong with the salad and dressing". Even after we said we'd pay for the salad (which we didn't want anymore), the manager remained confrontational and shockingly told our friend--who invited us, and is a local and I'm sure spends plenty of money there--to never bring us back, calling us "clowns." We were embarrassed and stunned. We barely touched our food, paid the full bill, left a tip, and left as quickly as possible. We have never been treated so horribly while spending our hard-earned money. There are plenty of friendlier places in Long Beach, do yourself a favor and skip Clancy's. My Fiancé is still upset a day later after the aftermath. We ended up going to tequila jacks up the street, and had a way better experience! read more

Wow. Just wow! My husband has owned his own restaurant, and serves and bartends. The bartender on Grand Prix Sunday afternoon was the sourest rudest bartender we've ever encountered. We paid for our round. Then decided to have another and offered to buy a round for the others sitting at the bar as well, she said she didn't know what they were drinking and basically shut us down. I've ordered the corned beef and cabbage 5 times. The portions are inconsistent and sometimes the beef is undercooked and very tough. Ashley who answers the phone is always (consistently) rude and unfriendly. Unfortunately, I won't eat there again, after 5 times, due both of the issues above. Matt is a douchebag bartender. He kicked me out and told me not to come back here because I got mad at another patron for continuously touching me while I kept saying no, no, no. I get I was angry and shouting, but the other patron refused to stop touching me. Despite me coming here regularly for a year and recently spending $20 on food and drinks, he claims that every week there's "some problem with me" without explaining what, threatened to call the cops on me for talking about my mental health struggles with another patron and that my parents push me to kill myself. The other patron even apologized saying she started it, asked Matt politely that it was her fault for upsetting me, and he still refused to let me back in. What a jerk. I hope the Raiders never win a Super Bowl in his lifetime as karma. read more

Love it here. It's a small place but nice if you don't like crowd's or loud music. I like the breakfast, 2 eggs 2 bacon or sausage and hashbrowns. They also have corned beef and cabbage I believe yum! Bartenders are just cool. Always. If it's slow they'll talk to you. If if it's slow they'll chat too. The bathroom is always clean. There is a patio area to eat. It's a very oriented football fan place. So come on in! It IS small so get a seat fast/early. I normally walk so not sure about parking. read more

Great selection of beers, great breakfast, TVs playing the games.. I really like this bar and eatery. The only times that I have been here are on a Sunday and for breakfast. I've had a few items, including their classic breakfast, the corned beef hash, and the breakfast sandwich stack, and have never been disappointed. Visited recently with a group of friends early in the evening. Food was very good, poor review due to slow service both from the kitchen and bar. One bartender who was overwhelmed and received no help not even from the owner who sat in a corner on his phone. Bartender was at a time out of clean glasses and also frosted or cold beer mugs, also had several customers tell her the draft beer was warm which she also mentioned to the owner who shrugged the bar tender off and still did nothing to support her. Place needs an update and an owner who takes pride in his establishment Owner may want to call Jon Taffner from Bar Rescue and ask for help. With some help and a Involved owner who really wants a great Irish Pub this would be a great place. Best thing about it was the food and the cook who puts out some really good Pub food. Hopefully the owner takes ownership and works to improve his establishment / Pub and if not sells it to someone who really wants to own a true Irish pub. A great place to hang out in downtown Long Beach. We came here on a weekday night and found that a lot of people come from their jobs to unwind here. There was one bartender who was doing the best she can waiting tables, taking orders and serving drinks. I didn't catch her name but she has long braided hair. Major props to her! Either give her a raise or hire more help. I love this place for being open late. Good choices in drinks on tap. Spacious place outside and inside for big or medium groups. It's the worst karaoke .. The rotation is favored. One person can sing 4 songs before a new person goes once. The host is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! The system is outdated. I'd your sign up at 9, you won't sing till 11 maybe midnight.. Not because there are many singers, but because the host runs the list according to personal preference. Many people complain and never return for this reason and it has a reputation around town as being the shit show... Fantastic little spot. Came for a music festival close by and the bartender (J want to say his name was Johnny) was fantastic. We came back all 4 nights of our stay. Wow! One of the more interesting stumble for me to go for a bar crawl. Clancy's is supposedly the oldest Irish Bar in Long Beach. Please don't ask how I was stumbling to find this place or why I wound up at this place. I think I saw the neon sign on the outside where "L" and "N" did not lit up, so I was thinking Cacy's. After closer look, I realized the bar from the past pictures I saw. Decided to stumble in to see the inside of the place. When you entered the door, it's a big a*s bar in a horseshoe shape. There's about 6-8 big screen TV all around the bar and two pool tables. There's about half dozen booth tables for dining. Apparently, the newly remodeled bar has dining addition to the establishment. The drinks were dartaaay! (Just how I like'em). It's very strong. I could have asked for a more smoother higher grade vodka. But hey! I'm a common man and I drank with the people. Yeah right....I just couldn't tell the difference. The price of the mixed drinks is about the same like any dive bars like Tiny's K.O. in Hollywood. They added different type of food for each day. There's different shows or games on TV for the patrons to watch. On that night, there was two chicks bartending the place. I know I know...Coyote Ugly. But nah, it's not like that, but you still don't want to mess with them. Long Beach bartending chicks are not to be the ones to be messing with. Maybe I found the nostalgic of an Irish bar and immediately assumed it's like Cheers, but the truth is everyone is friendly with each other and the bartenders are very cool. No real attitude and very down to earth. So yeah, I'm pleasantly surprised by the whole atmosphere of it as everyone here was no ghetto or Hollywood creepos on a dive bar. I might add, the restroom is clean too. So, it fulfill the five star for a dive bar. Cheap drinks, cool atmosphere, good vibe, friendly service, and clean restroom. Heck yeah! Oh, to be warn about this and it was a bit*h. I didn't know that Broadway is a one way street at that portion of that main intersection. So be warn on how you approach that section of the street. read more

I dig this dive. I've been here a few times for the real dart boards. We couldn't play this last time (Friday night) as the Karaoke took over. There was a bar crawl going down which is always a fun crowd. I order the Moscow Mules here. They now require an ID as collateral as kleptos keep stealing the copper cups. There is a small parking lot out front and we always seem to snag a spot. They also have pool tables and a few booths in the back. read more

This bar is clearly a popular spot on weekends. THey seemed to have redone the inside because the space looks very clean and well kept. The pluses are real darts - and I am not talking about the plastic crap that is no good. I usually get the Moscow Mule because it comes in the classic copper cup. Always makes a difference. The night we were there had kareoke. Nothing like drunk people singing. It was entertaining even though I didn't have the courage to get up a sing. Definitely a spot to hit. Parking can be a little tricky because it is at a major intersection. If there aren't any spots you have to roam the neighborhood and hope for some luck. read more
