The menu on the front of the pop up tent
    Jim L.

I was pleasantly surprised at a new pop up food vendor at San Leandro's Bay Fair's farmer's market, joining the great tamale, indian (get the lamb curry) and kettle popcorn stalls. The very large menu is at the front, the food is already cooked, and they seem to be making some in the back of the tent. They keep the food in steam baskets and closed trays. I got the chives pancake, 3 for $15. A single folding table that seats 6 is between it and some bake goods stalls, so you might not sit. That is okay, because it is finger/chopstick food, and i took mine home 10 min away and it was still hot and tasty. Yummy, soft and tasty, each pocket of goodness can fill 1 person's snack craving. Yes, going back and trying other stuff.

SO GOOD!!! I can't wait to come back. This might be my favorite potsticker place!! Highly recommend getting the pork potsticker :)

Food was really good! They were at the Concord Farmers' Market in Todos Santos Plaza. The people running the stand were very nice. We got the vegan siu mai, har gow, scallion pancakes, and apple buns. The apple buns look like apples which was really cool

    Chive pancakes with pork dumplings

I'm lucky that Dumpling King comes to the Santa Clara Farmer's Market each Saturday because they are amazing! I always get the shrimp har gow (so sweet and plump!), but they also have other good items like pork dumplings, pancakes, and more. Recently, toward the end of the farmer's market, they gave me several dumplings to try for free when I ordered a chive pancake. Very sweet and great service even during the long lines :)

Jiang Bing first time trying ever. Pretty good.

I went to get some Mansera bread (I usually go to the one in Palo Alto) but church is closer by the one in Campbell, so I decided to pick up some bread and apparently there is a huge food stall thing happeng on the street that Mansera bread is. I did not know such an event took place in Campbell. Which I am going to have to check out as someone who loves food. So many places looked good, and right in front of Mansera bread was Dumpling King. I've always seen Jiang Bing on TV and wanted to try it. Seeing it being made before my eyes, I knew I had to try it. I got the grilled bbq pork Jiang Bing and their popcorn chicken, which they were raving about. The Jiang Bing was excellent, well seasoned and well cooked egg wrap with the perfect amount of veggies and meat ratio with some good sauce. I think I need to try their chive pancakes next. Their popcorn chicken was okay. It was made fresh, so that was good, but 13 dollars for the amount that I received was a little steep. But yeahbcheck it out yall

Tender and delicious shrimp and chicken dumplings at the Campbell Farmers Market. They came with a tasty spicy dipping sauce as well.

They open early and we dropped by around 8:00am to leave our order for pick-up at 10:15am. I found a copy of their order sheet online. It was slightly out of date but it worked out just fine. I handed it to the order taker and she entered it into the computer. There were two items that they apparently no longer make, Egg Custard Tarts and Pork with Peanut Dumplings (Chiu Chow). She rang me up, I paid and she told me to be sure to bring in the itemized receipt to show that I had already paid. Fast forward to 10:20 and I received a phone call to let me know that my order was ready. We were already on the way but hit a bit of traffic that we hadn't expected. Once I arrived, I got into line. When it was my turn, our order was actually sitting on the counter, bagged up and poking out of a food warmer bag. What'd we get? Shu Mai Ha Gao Beef Balls Steamed Tofu Skins in Oyster Sauce Steamed BBQ Pork Buns Steamed Egg Custard Buns Pan Fried Stuffed Bell Peppers with Shrimp Pan Fried Chive Dumplings Pan Fried Turnip Cakes Deep Fried Sticky Rice Meat Dumpling Egg Rolls Steamed Sticky Rice in Lotus Leaf Congee with Pork & Preserved Egg Congee with Fish Everything was delicious as expected except the Steamed Egg Custard Buns was quite "bready" and the Custard was completely set rather than wet and flowing. No pictures this time since we've ordered most of the same items before.

My group and I stopped by recently for morning dim sum, and we were incredibly impressed by the changes. The Atmosphere & Vibes The modern, newly remodeled interior looks fantastic. The space feels much brighter, cleaner, and more upscale than before, making it a wonderful environment for everything from a casual family breakfast to a larger celebratory gathering. They've managed to create a contemporary look while keeping the welcoming energy alive. The Food: A Noticeable Step Up While the new decor is great, the real star of the show is the improved flavor and quality of the dim sum. You can tell they've refined their recipes and perhaps brought in some fresh culinary talent. Here were the standouts from our meal: Baked BBQ Pork Buns (Cha Siu Bao): Absolute perfection. The tops had that ideal, sweet, crumbly crust, and the pork filling was savory, rich, and not overly gelatinous. Shrimp Dumplings (Har Gow): A true test of any dim sum kitchen. The skins were perfectly translucent and delicate without tearing, packed with plump, snappy shrimp that tasted incredibly fresh. Siu Mai: Flavorful, juicy, and well-seasoned. The texture was spot-on--not dense or heavy. Egg Tarts (Dan Tat): The puff pastry was beautifully laminated and flaky, holding a perfectly smooth, warm, and subtly sweet egg custard. Service & Value Despite the upgraded ambiance and food quality, the service remains efficient and attentive. Teas were kept hot and refilled promptly, and the dishes arrived fresh and steaming from the kitchen.

So what happened when my friend spoke one to the host? She laughed in her face. We got our food fast, but it was only decent. They also missed a couple items we marked on the menu. And the waiter who was wearing something different from the rest was VERY dismissive when they ran out of a certain item and when we tried to ask some questions. Overall it was a really bad experience for me and my friends which is crazy because they weren't always so bad!

I guess this was when it started to get less busy. Within an hour, half the diners were already gone. Service was a little slow. They did not have enough servers working all the tables. Our server barely came back to check in on us. The only thing we needed were extra tea refills. The food on the other hand came out in a timely manner and were steaming hot when they got to our table. We ordered about a dozen dishes and they were all delicious. My favorite dish was the Golden Tofu Cube with Salted Egg. It was a little salty and the inside was soft while the outside was crispy. I also liked the Stir Fried XO Sauce Rice Rolls. It was flavorful, tender and I thought they used the right amount of sauce for my liking. The dining area was quite big. It looked like they had just hosted a party the night before since their speakers equipment were still out. This place did have a parking lot which might look big but it could easily fill up during their busy hours. I was lucky to find an open spot when I got here.

The baked pork buns are good - slightly different in that there's no glaze on them but the outside was crispy and the inside tender and the filling was tasty - they are why I'm giving 2 stars. The honey walnut prawns were inedible - the sauce was hard lumpy globs sitting randomly on top of fried shrimps, truly disgusting. The scallion pancakes were not crispy or flaky - Trader Joe's are better. The tofu rolls were cold on one side, like refrigerator cold, while the other side was lukewarm. The jellyfish salad had no flavor whatsoever, just the very slightest hint of sesame. No salt, nothing. The seaweed salad was decent. The deep fried mochi puffs with meat filling were bad. The outer shell was too thick so the inside was uncooked and doughy. Inedible. And, the cold chicken feet were so tough they were in edible. I didn't know you could make chicken feet like that, so tough. Again not really any flavor, they were just tossed with a little bit of chili sauce and hardly any of that. And no vinegar chili sauce for dipping. I would not recommend.

The staff told her we wouldn't be seated unless our entire party was present. About 4 people were late, but they still seated us. The restaurant kind of felt old and somewhat dirty. But hey, it was my dad's birthday. I wasn't paying for lunch. We occupied three tables and ordered from both the lunch and dim sum menus. I enjoyed dishes like shiu mai, pork buns, walnut shrimp, fried rice, fish, and fried noodles. The sesame balls were tasty, but the service was slow, and I had to follow up on our order. I didn't care for the bun with the hot dog or the other noodle dish. Later that day, my daughter mentioned she had found hair in a pork bun and that her cousin had eaten it. She also said every item he picked up had hair on it, which was disappointing. I didn't confirm this with my cousin, but it would have been helpful to have someone inform the staff. Fortunately, no one at our table found hair in their food, which was a relief. Overall, the food that I ate was fine, but I wouldn't make a special trip from San Jose to visit again...unless it's a fambam family treat.
