As I previously mentioned I receive a text the day before my scheduled service that provides the 2-hour arrival window. Sean has never deviated from that 2-hour window which means I don't have to waste a lot of time sitting at home wondering when the technician is coming. I had discontinued my bait station service several months ago but I recently noticed droppings outside near my trash cans. Prior to this month's service, I texted Sean on a Friday to let him know about it. He replied within an hour and when he came out Monday he identified the droppings as rat and lizard and refilled the bait stations. Bottom line; great communication skills, responsive, knowledgeable and affordable. I definitely recommend Valkyrie Pest Control.

When you're buying your first house, especially an older neglected property, it's hard not to feel overwhelmed and honestly a little suspicious that everyone is trying to upsell you or take advantage of the situation. Mike from Grayson immediately gave us peace of mind. He was kind, honest, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. What really stood out was his honesty. He actually recommended that we not do termite treatment because it wasn't necessary. He pointed out that what I thought was termite damage was actually wood rot caused by malfunctioning gutters. That level of integrity is rare and instantly earned our trust. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and took the time to educate us instead of trying to scare us into expensive unnecessary work. As first-time homeowners, that meant a lot. Once everything was completed, we genuinely felt relieved and much more comfortable moving into the house. He quoted us a very fair and reasonable price for remediation and pest work, which included cleaning and disinfecting an affected area, repairing screens, setting traps, and multiple follow-up visits. They even gave us a slight discount for using them after the inspection. Nick Grayson, the owner, and Domingo came out on a Saturday to help clean and prep the property because our movers were arriving Monday. That alone says a lot about the company. Nick mentioned he's been doing this for over 20 years and it absolutely shows -- no BS, no scare tactics, no upselling, just fast, honest, high-quality work. I joked that he must really hate pests at this point and Domingo happily replied that he's been exterminating for over 30 years. They arrived on time, ready to work, and got everything done quickly while still being extremely thorough. They also treated our home and property with a lot of respect during cleanup, which we really appreciated. Since they treated the property, we genuinely haven't seen a single insect. The treatment was also pet safe, which was really important to us -- we only had to leave the house for about an hour or two. They also have a dedicated office person coordinating scheduling and relaying information, which made communication smooth and easy throughout the process. That said, these guys are clearly in high demand and now I understand why. Give yourself at least a couple days if you want to book them because truly honest companies that do quality work at fair prices are hard to find. If you're a first-time homeowner and can get on their schedule, you can absolutely feel safe trusting them with your inspection and treatment needs. Grayson is worth every penny and I would absolutely give them 5 stars without hesitation.

Squirrels were destroying my hardscaping. My backyard is terraced, with three tiers above the lawn…read moreand staircases on both sides. The squirrels were tunneling beneath the stairs and near the retaining walls, causing significant damage and potentially compromising the integrity of the yard. Over the past two years, I noticed that the coyotes whose yowls once woke me at night seemed to have disappeared. At the same time, my backyard squirrel population exploded. I did not want to use poison, so I started with less aggressive options. First, I placed strong-smelling squirrel-repellent balls inside the den openings. I even wore gloves because they smelled so awful. The squirrels were completely unimpressed. Next, I baited rat traps. The squirrels knocked them over and ate the bait. Then I bought a device that was supposed to lure the squirrels inside and kill them instantly. It caught nothing. It did, however, attract spiders. I added fake owls throughout the yard. Some moved in the wind, while others were solar-powered, moved, and screeched. The squirrels ignored every one of them. Eventually, I hired a company that treated the numerous squirrel dens. When we continued to see many squirrels, I called the company back, and they treated the dens a second time. It still did not solve the problem. Finally, I called Ventura Pest Control. Ryan explained that their approach was different. During the first week, he placed food around the yard so the squirrels would become comfortable eating it. The following week, he placed the same bait inside traps and returned each day to remove the captured squirrels. The results were remarkable. Ryan caught 12 squirrels on the first day, four on the second, and two on the third. After years of damage and multiple failed solutions, Ventura Pest Control solved the problem. I only wish I had called them first.

We live in a condo complex and the HOA recently had our property tented by Ventura Pest control…read more A couple days before they were scheduled to tent our property we called and informed them that there was an active Red Finch bird nest in one of the eves. They sent a supervisor out by the name of Leland. He told us that Red Finches were not protected, and that they would tent over the nest killing the baby birds. After hearing this, I chose to move the nest myself, knowing that the birds would have a low likelihood of survival after, but figured it was better than them getting tented over and having no chance. A few days later I found out that Red Finches are protected. I called Leland he proceeded to laugh and say "didn't you move the nest?" I explained to him that yes I had. But only because he had it for me that they were going to tent over it. I am going to report them to Fish and Wildlife, but was hoping you could help get my message out that Ventura Pest is at best unethical, but more likely just blatantly breaking the law. I doubt that Leland is operating/acting on his own. Either Chuck Cooley, and the Moberly brothers are negligent but more than likely fully aware and involved with these illegal practices. Ventura locals should not support this business.
