We recently had our vehicle towed to the Classic Body Works lot when our truck engine caught fire. We called the company to make sure our vehicle was there. The person on the phone stated that he could not check because his system was down. my wife called several hours later, and he was rude to her. He told her that he had already spoken to me and that his system was still down. I rented a car in Astoria and went searching for my truck. It was on their lot not 100 feet from the office door. It amazed me that he did not even attempt to look for it. My insurance company moved the truck to a dealership for repairs. They even had the nerve to charge us storage fees even though he didn't know the truck was there. Bad service. read more

Would not recommend. Ever. If I could give a zero star I would. It was a nightmare that I'm still reminded of regularly even though my experience happened 2 years ago. I brought my car in to have the roof repainted. $3000+ ok... they gave me back my car on a Friday. Someone had managed to back it into a pole, they'd fix the bumper. Well I left with my car and it began pouring rain... for 3 days. Would have been fine if they had recalibrated my moonroof. It began raining inside my vehicle, standing water in the floorboards. By the time I got to them Monday ( closed on weekends) my car was still drenched, and they tell me 'oh we also forgot to vacuum out the drain ports and they were still full of paint sanding garbage'. So they fix that and I am told my bumper piece will be in soon and they'll take care of it. Forward 5 weeks. No call, nothing. I call them and confront him about it, he finally tells me that 'the part is enroute and we can schedule an appt about a week +1/2 out'. (Aka he didn't really order the bumper) okay, so after the bumper it will all be over finally... well, it wasn't. Forward to bumper fixing day: I get my car back from them and drive away, only to realize that now when I put my car into reverse my backup sensors are offline. So I bring it right back and they toggle around for a bit and suggest I make another appt so I can have it fully taken apart again. Well that didn't work. And after that disappointment, the main guy then has the audacity to tell me I should pay the dealership to get it fixed... Well needless to say my car has never been the same. A $23k vehicle reduced to electrical problems, faulty equipment, and water damage because of one company's inability to function as a professional and well run business. Honestly, if I could go back in time to redo only one thing in my life, it would've been to take my vehicle to a different shop. Would've saved me so much $$$, time, destruction, and heartache. read more

I was recently in a predicament where I slid into a ditch that had very long field grass and as it was raining the ditch was full of water. I hit the ditch and itnwas like hitting a pillow. the only real damage was my bumper on the passenger side caved In a little bit and my fender flare was ripped off. in fact, I was able to drive it from the tow yard to classics, when Classics bodywerks failed miserably on every turn it took, I eventually drove it 4 hours to my home town in Renton WA. So this was not a totaled vehicle by any means. Until classics got a hold of it, now it's a total loss and if I could I would sue them. but here is the story. its long because, well they dropped the ball and everything needs to be told.... grab a blanket and popcorn.... Now i dropped the car off monday before lunchtime, and was greeted i believe by Bob. I had explained the accident and he Said he would not be able to do any work on it for repairs until 6-8 weeks as they are booked out til May. That's fine, I just need to the driveable to take it to a shop in my area. He said he would pull the jeep in overnight to dry it out and will get an estimate going. well I call everyday because that's my transportation home and I live 4 hours away. Finally Thursday is the day we recieved an estimate for 6400$ to get a new carpet, which they say they will do and it will be done in a week. That's fine. Do the work, I'm told it will be done by next thursday. In one week. i can rent a car for a week that's no problem, not even really thinking about why can't I just drive it in the condition is in, I trust him when he says he will make it driveable for me, that's literally his only agenda with my jeep. Make it driveable. Well, Wednesday comes around and my wifes to confirm it's or will be done When the said it would be done so I can figure out if I drive down there or not. she is told, that they recieved floormats when they ordered the carpet, and to order the carpet we neea to pay our deductible upfront. Well that not how insurance works, I pay when I pick it up work done. Then they say thatvwe owe for the frieght charges of the floormats that they got instead of the carpet, WHY WOULD I PAY FOR YOUR SCREW UP. at this point I'm getting very upset. It's in Oregon, and ive rented a car for a week already, they haven't done the work needed to be done to make it driveable, and im being charged for floor mats, and being charged upfront for all work to be done? This is ridiculous. Then I start think long why the HELL do I need carpet to drive the car, let me see what they are charging for this carpet. 3100$ no wonder they say it needs to be done, they cherry picked what needed to be done, picked something that is cheap but they can charge an arms and a leg for with insurance just paying it without thinking about it. I've worked in 2 body shop, and I can tell you carpet is not that expensive on a small suv. They are charging 1800$ to replace the carpet and $1300 for the carpet. Your smoking tok much dope to think that is justifiable so I stop all work on it from here on out and I'm coming to pick up the car, is it driveable. He tells me Yes, but the car is full of mold. Wait, I'm sorry, did I hear that right? Your telling me you didn't dry it out the first night when you were suppose to, or any other night in the 9 days you have had the car. so I'm 10 days with possesion of my car they wrote an estimate and ordered the wrong damn thing. And they had the nerve to tell me when I picked it up that I hope I come back to them if I ever need. Well at least I ended that place with a laugh. Because it was nothing but misguided information on timelines and parts, I could have driven the car home that day that I dropped it off and gave it to someone who knew what they were doing from the get go. All they had to do was an estimate, and that took 4 days. You guys at classics Bodywerks should be embarrassed and to pay for my rental car and here is the big reason I want to sue them..... if they had dried the car out, I wouldn't have a car that is a total loss due to permanent water damage because of the length of time it took to dry it, that it had water rusting, mold growing everywhere, issues that could have been avoided if you had done one of two things. Either given me my estimate and sent me in my way, or dried the carpet out that night. You guys will never get a recommendation from me, you will in fact be told about everytime some one brings up the word body shop, or astoria Oregon. 1 star, because that's as low as I can go. read more

I was told to come on down and he would help me out an hour later when I got there he had his coworkers tell me he wasn't there and went home an hour after he started work and everytime I stopped in I was told he wasn't there when he was hiding in the back. Not very nice or cool. He had been great in the past excellent and was a great help but changed after he got a promotion to the back office where he doesn't have to see people anymore. Then his coworker looked at my car they had done work on several times before and said they no longer work on older cars and referred me to another body shop that when I looked it up doesn't exist. My advice is find another body shop like they told me after driving all the way down there and then being turned away as he hides in the back and has his friend lie to me. There's nothing classic about it they need to change the name to Modern Bodywerks read more

We took our truck here after we hit a deer on the front driver side. It did take a couple of months to get our car into the shop, but once the car was in, it took no time at all. When we received the car back, I couldn't tell there was ever any damage. The people I encountered at the shop were very nice and courteous. They even asked if I (as well as my dog) needed a ride home when I dropped the truck off. I would recommend this shop to anyone who needs body work on their car or truck. read more

Worst Auto experience ever with these guys! Took my car in for an estimate and was told $243. Booked my car in to have the work done. After they started the work on my car, they called to say the cost just went up to $500 because they didn't realize it was an Infiniti and how it requires all this extra work. Owner lied and threw his female estimator under the bus saying it was her fault she didn't know what she was doing, he continued to lie and say he was on vacation when the estimate was done. Lie!!! He was actually present at the time of my vechile estimate. I refused them to continue with the work and took my car back. My hubby actually completed the work at home without any fancy auto body equipment. Turns out what they said was super complicated to fix is actually a really easy task. Do not trust these guys to be honest with your car. read more

My 2014 Buick needed body work on the right front fender (deer collision ) and I took it to these folks. My wife and I just moved to Astoria 6 months ago so we were rolling the dice. Pleasantly surprised. They worked with our insurance company flawlessly, did quality work, fender looks brand new, and we're happy. Note: They were very communicative, even called to tell me they weren't happy with the paint match and would need an additional day. Some might be angered by that but I appreciated their attention to detail. Happy with the work. As the commercial for another product says...."like it never even happened". read more

The towing side of the shop gets a big NO !! They must get a rebate from the government ! for employment of the handicapped they did not make it to the shop my wife had to chase them down ....They just told me it was my fault that an insurance Co. got the address wrong and the driver is unable to call and get the right one so It was my problem ( NOT MY INSUREANCE Co. ) but still my problem The driver could not put the small pick up in the bay ....I think that it took skill . and On His way out could not stay on the drive way with the gravel ...I guess that took skill too so off to the soft grass he went and lets ruts so deep a mower could be lost for a week ! I have seen more skill at the school lunch room for the special education kids . If I broke down I would never call this person to tow my car....... Would toss a light road flair into the rig and call it a loss and go on with my life like I never had it... than to call their tow part of the Co. Yes, they were the low bidder, and that's because their bid was incomplete, as was the work they performed. My wing window replacement both leaked and whistled when returned to me. When I inquired as to rectifying these deficiencies, I was told that the window latch was loose and the replacement was another $89. I didn't stick around to find out the labor cost to install the replacement. Shun them lest you receive similar treatment. read more
