Tried the peanut butter chocolate in a mini size and it was the perfect late afternoon snack. Service Employee let us take our time to look over the many different cupcakes options. She was a joy to speak to, also. Ambiance Place appeared closed when we walked in but the employee ensured us they were open lol. I advise you to get there early because it was slim pickings in the aftermath. Would I go back? Absolutely!

As luck would have it, we celebrated my mother-in-law's 80th birthday with a towering custom cake from IveyCake. And let me tell you. Owner Ivey Childers makes a mean cake! They are literally works of art made by a creative decorator who demands perfection and uses the finest ingredients. The cake is very dense, what our family considers to be the ultimate texture for a cake. The frosting is super thick and very sweet. You can't eat too much at one time, which is probably a good thing. We had hoped for some sort of confirmation email to let us know the cake was finished. So we showed up on faith alone hoping the cake was ready for our celebration, and there it was! Whew! And not only will IveyCake create your beautiful custom cake, but they even sell cupcakes and small cakes on a daily basis in their adorable little shop. Go check them out!

We tried the egg salad, chicken salad, the viral hot cocoa with the peppermint marshmallow, plus a few bakery treats because obviously we have no self-control. That cocoa??? Unreasonably good. Like I'd go back just for that. They had kid sizes too, which is a major plus. They've got patio seating, which is always a yes, and the staff was super friendly even while moving at full-speed. It's a bit cramped inside, but everything about it is gorgeous. A quaint, charming tea room. My ONLY complaint and this is truly nit-picky is that I wish my biscuit had been warmed up. Will definitely return!

I LOVE a good bakery and I am kinda spoiled by over 30 years in San Francisco, where there is a great one every few blocks. I just found all the photos on my phone and realized I had not reviewed this place from last month's mini vacation. And honestly I know we got like 4 things for 4 of us to take home and snack on for the next day or so, but I don;t recall all the things we got EXCEPT for the white almond frosted cake(slice, but in a round shape). Everyone agree it was the one to beat, and not to take the crown, but it was the one that I chose. This reminds me that I need to find all the bakeries near me now that do "cake tasting" boxes and just treat myself every once in a while!!

I ordered the French dip which was non-remarkable. Poor quality beef with a slightly ransid taste. I would recommend you avoid this one. My guest ordered a chicken casserole dish and only completed half of it, mentioning that it tasted 'not fresh.' But, not being able to finish our meal gave us more time to receive chastisement from the surly server because two of our party were delayed in arriving and 'other people are waiting on a table', leaving me to wonder, 'why are they waiting on a table here? Don't they have any idea what they are in for?' If they did, they would be running from the tables. Like we will be from now on. This place was once a shining star and a local fave in Brentwood, now known mostly for the bakery and sweet treats. I recommend you stay on that side of the rail, too, and avoid the restaurant side. Because sugar can't fix sour food. Or attitudes.

They have a parking lot with free parking on the side of the building. It's a huge bonus that it's quick and easy to park. The shop has several cases that are always packed with a variety of treats. They have whole cakes, cake slices, decorated cookies, sweet scones, savory scones, rice krispy bars, seven layer bars, lemon bars, muffins, several types of cookies, and more. Even when I have arrived in the middle of the day the cases have been full and still have a great variety. I have loved everything I have tried here. My favorites are the rice krispy treats (especially the fruity one), the dolly bar, the almond cookie, and scones. The cake slices are delicious, but very rich. We split this into two or three pieces. They also have a shop next door that has a lot of cute party and gift items. If you have a sweet tooth then you need to check out Baked on 8th.

I've always wanted to learn how to make macarons but the process seemed intimidating and the cost for classes in my area is high. When my friends proposed this, I couldn't believe the value. We had a hands on class where Heather taught us the best tips and tricks to tackle macarons at home. I left armed with a box of tasty treats (that I made!), detailed recipes, and so many great pieces of general baking advice. My baking has improved already. I would have given Eat the Art 5 stars if my experience had ended with just the class. But now that I have lots of time and nowhere to go, I decided to put my skills to the test. I made macarons at home! Heather is obviously an artist and you will definitely want to do as she says and "eat the art." If you're looking for a girls' weekend activity or something fun for a bachelorette party, you will not regret taking a class at Eat the Art!
