Professional, courteous, industrious.... just an all-around great experience. He even is a dog lover ! Our home and the one next door lost power. John, a super electrician, came out immediately and Neill was all over the job helping us. John could not find the problem and told us it was somewhere around the PGE panel or coming into the house. John was super. Neill then took over personally. It is hard to imagine in this day and age that someone who is high up in management would personally Shepard this job, as we are just homeowners. However, we have worked with Neill in the past and trust him and Boones Ferry completely. Neill had two young men, one lead and one apprentice (fourth year) come out. Neill hired a locate company. PGE emergency crew came out three times to help being encouraged by Neill. Neill personally came to the job site and supervised the finding of the fault for both homes. It turns out that the company that did the drain system for the house in 2019 nicked the power lines and instead of reporting and repairing it on the spot, just used duct tape, covered it with dirt and left. As a result over the years, water seeped in, rotted the line and it failed. When your crew dug up the spot, along with diggers I hired, the wire simply fell apart in their hands. Long story, the crew that Neill supervised fixed the line so it is now as good as before. This is important as it was so unusual that it took someone with the knowledge of Neill to find the issue. I cannot say enough about Neill and the way he handled this problem personally. He went above and beyond and our family and that of Bill and Sue Combs are forever grateful. My hat is off to the entire crew that helped us. The quality of the work, the knowledge and the way they worked with the customer, me, was extraordinary. We used BF Electric to have wiring installed to a hot tub. They finished in a shorter time than agreed on, and did a great job. Had them come back to install an outlet in a bathroom. Wow that guy was fast, and everything looked perfect when he was finished. They're very responsive to emails, and set up appts that are convenient. I think pricing seems comparable and fair. read more

We were referred to this company by a previous contractor and have continued to use them because their guys are consistently personable, professional, conscientious, tidy, and efficient. They walk through projects with you beforehand to determine your preferences which I really appreciate. We have done extensive remodeling on a number of homes and I can be that person who stands there watching a job if I'm not comfortable. I've never felt the need to hover with them - I know I'm going to get what I've asked for. We had an incident where one of their electricians accidentally drilled into the storage space above our garage while installing new LED lights on our garage ceiling. It was a mistake anyone could make. The owner, Stan, was probably more upset about it than I was. After sending him a couple rounds of photos showing the damage, he referred us to a flooring specialist who took great care of us. We didn't have to pay a cent to get the storage area floor repaired. It is refreshing to have a company demonstrate their integrity by taking care of any issues with a minimum of fuss. We recommend them highly and plan to use them going forward. read more

Reporting another positive review for BFE. Mid Friday afternoon, we had a power outage related to some fountain work being done by another contractor. The GFI tripped and so did the breaker. Lost power included the high amperage outlet we need to charge an electric car so we needed that with urgency. When I couldn't get power back with the simplest solutions, I called BFE and spoke to Keith. Even though it was late Friday afternoon, he said he'd try to find someone available and it turned out Daniel Hall was nearby in Tualatin. Keith called back shortly and told me Daniel would be at my house in 10 minutes which he did. Daniel fixed the problem in a few minutes and even inspected prior work done in September. This was excellent responsiveness which my wife and I greatly appreciated. read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews but I would not recommend them. The actual work was fine but at the end of the day..$400 to move a receptacle 6 feet was not what we were looking for. In all fairness, communication between BFE, the contractor who was installing a door was poor and I didn't micro manage enough. I gave them 2 stars for the work done since as far as I can tell it was done correctly. read more

In reading the Yelp reviews, you either love or hate Boones Ferry Electric. I am definitely in the love category. I had a switch stop working. Not a life or death emergency, just an aggravation. I called one Electrican who was booked out for three weeks. He recommended Boones Ferry Electric. Their scheduler was extremely knowledgeable and personable. He explained they were booked until the day after Labor Day. I figured I wasn't going to do any better and booked an appointment. Fortunately one of their electricians finished his job early and was available this Tuesday afternoon. Ron was a delight and solved as semi complicated problem. I'm from Beaverton, not San Francisco, but I don't know how change that mistake on my profile for already posted reviews. I had a very good experience with them. They tried to diagnose a problem that I was having so that I wouldn't even need to have someone come to my house. I appreciated that. The day after the appointment I had a follow up call suggesting that my issues may be outside of the house and to call our electricity provider to to get their help in trying to resolve it. i did. There was a problem in the power line connection in the neighborhood. I'm grateful that once Chris left the house he still kept working through fixes in his mind and could offer one that resolved our issue. Thank you! read more

We're in a house that needed a chandelier fixture to come down and replace with a can light. Was recommended to use this place and sad to say, their customer service is worth zero stars. The cost seems reasonable, time frame to get job done would have been fine. On the day of job, due to icy roads, my 11am appt never showed. The guy who answered (probably Daniel who isn't that friendly at all) informed me " oh yea we're on a two hour delay..and your guy won't be coming at all" I asked when they said they would have called me to let me know 1)they were on a delay and 2) my guy won't even be coming; as I have a newborn and timed this appt out, along with other house projects to make the electricians job easy. He said "oh maybe around 12:30 so you beat us to it" didn't offer to send anyone else out, I had to ask when someone could come out; he begrudgingly said next Thursday. Didn't even confirm the new appointment or apologize this had happened. I'd rather my give my business to a company who is professional, no matter how big or small the job is. read more

The folks at BFE were great to work with on our kitchen remodel and panel upgrade. From the start, Dan provided a well detailed estimate and had knowledgeable answers/solutions to all my questions. Ben and apprentice Matt were super efficient and friendly for the initial phase of work, and Ben was again awesome when finishing out the kitchen and a couple add-ons. I was especially grateful that Dan was so responsive throughout the project as there were some schedule adjustments and additional requests that came up along the way. Lastly, Ben was quick to fit in a follow up visit when half my kitchen outlets didn't work which turned out to be because I drove a screw through the supply wire while hanging out pot rack (thank god for circuit breakers!). I would recommend BFE to anyone needing electrical work and will happily call them out should I need more work myself. read more

I called six electrician firms on a Sunday needing help that day or the next due to a real estate transaction. 3 never called back. Stan, owner of Boones, called back first having an opening on Monday. When one of their crew that was assigned to me was running behind, they assigned Mark to switch over to my booking. Mark was very friendly, knowledgeable. The bill was reasonable. Overall, a great experience and I'd use them again in a heartbeat. read more

I hired Boones ferry to do work on an addition and after starting the job they told me they could meet our schedule and start the main part of the rough in on the following Wednesday I replied to the email an hour and a half later to confirm, Dan the Estimator/Project manager responded the next day and told me that I did not reply soon enough and that they could not return for 3 weeks leaving my project at a stand still. I left him several messages and email that he did not reply to and finally I got a call from the Owner, Jan and he began talking down to me and claiming that everyone in his office are professionals and very good at what they do and do not make mistakes. He tried to double bill me for labor on trouble shooting and included the labor that was already contracted work. He refused to admit to this and told me that I did not know what I was doing and he was a professional. Jan keeps making excuses to not complete the project and that any information that his employees gave me was not acceptable because they did not have the authority to make any promises, even though Jan the owner gave them the authorization to do so. I would never recommend them to anyone and can see why this company has been through several owners. read more

Boones Ferry Electric provided work for me several months ago and two of the items were not taken care of or remedied though I was billed for time stating it was troubleshot and resolved. I phoned to ask they come back and do the work and I never received a response, I contested two minor charges without hearing back from them though they continued to send bills. I finally called again to contest the charges and received a call back altering the bill and stating they would forward a new invoice. On the day the invoice was received in my mailbox, I got a call from the owner accusing me I did not have the funds to pay, that his "guys" did not receive previous calls from me and proceeded to insinuate I was to blame for any correspondence issues. I just wanted the work completed and had hoped they would do so and now have to find another company to do the work. I paid the bill but felt pretty neglected and beat up in the process. read more

Boones Ferry Electric provided work for me and the person that came out to do the work was great, when I received the bill I called and to let them know that I am effected by the Government shut down and would not be receiving any pay checks till the government passes a budget and that I would pay them as soon as I received a pay check again. I was told that the information would be forwarded on to the billing. then a few hours later I was called by a man at the company who demanded payment I told him the same thing and he told me " how is this my problem." he berated me told me that I was using the government shutdown as an excuse not to pay. he then asked for more information regarding my finances and made me feel like I was stupid for not having a savings. he then explained to me how things work in regard to paying his employees. I had only called to let them know what I knew before the bill was due so they would not have to waste time calling and asking about payment and to ensure them that I had every intention to pay them as soon as I could. read more
