This cafe sales American Spirit cigarets for 12.50, the cheapest in DTLA. They are very nice and speak Spanish.

Love this place, great prices for convenience and they have the best tuna sandwich on the block. The family is great I'll keep coming back.

That alone is a huge plus because when do you ever find free parking on this side of town? You take the elevator up, and the space is really nice and modern with plenty of good spots to sit and get some work done. My biggest complaint is that even though they open at 8, the kitchen doesn't open until 9:30. I really wanted the breakfast sliders, and honestly, I almost wanted to hate this place because of that. But their matcha completely made up for it. I got the banana cream matcha, and it had a beautiful, vivid green color with the perfect balance of sweetness without being too sweet. It was seriously so good that I'd come back again. Just consider yourself warned: if you want anything from the kitchen, don't show up before 9:30.

Parking wise - there was an entrance to turn into that leads to an underground area. Keep in mind if you go this way, there is two elevators that you need to take to get to the shop, which is located at the 2nd floor. When I tried to pay before leaving, I had some issues with my credit cards accepting the payment at the station. On the way out, there was a worker that was able to help. I went on a weekend at peak hours so it was expectedly busy. It was a particularly hot day so had to settle for their outdoor patio. There was a wait to order. American Express is accepted here. There were a few things I got during my visit. Banana Cream Tiramisu Latte was the drink option; it was sweet and felt like it balanced the coffee well. However, I didn't feel like it stood out enough to go out of my way for it again. Wagyu Egg Sliders and Poke & Chips were the food options that I picked. The drink came out within a few minutes but the food took ~ 20 minutes before they brought it out. Both of the food items felt okay and not anything special as well. The poke was slightly lower on the list because they use tuna; could have been better with salmon. Overall, it was a pretty meh experience. WiFi is available, so it could be a working spot for those that need it. Tables were dirty given the volume of customers they had. I wanted to grab some coffee beans and they were out of stock at the time. The initial atmosphere seemed nice, so perhaps I should consider coming back on a less busy day.

Lots of interesting choices. The drinks were well balanced and not overly sweet, so you could actually taste the coffee instead of having it covered up by syrups or other flavors. The coffee itself was smooth, with no harsh or overly bitter aftertaste. I also liked that the flavors complemented the coffee rather than overpowering it. Loved the honey lavender matcha and peanut coffee. The drinks were beautifully presented too, so they looked just as good as they tasted. My son also recommended it, even though he had never actually tried their drinks. LOL. It was one of his friend's favorite cafes so I was really looking forward to going. Unfortunately, we couldn't find the right time to stop by until toward the end of our trip. I'm so glad we finally did though because I'm now in love! Rok instantly became one of my favorite cafes in LA. If I had tried their drinks at the beginning of our trip, I honestly would have gone back every day until we left! They have so many interesting drink combinations. This time, I tried the Earl Grey Matcha Duo. I love both Earl Grey and matcha but I wasn't quite sure how well they would pair together until I took my first sip. OMG, it was sooooo good!!! The balance between the Earl Grey flavor and the matcha was perfect. No wonder they've been recognized as one of the best places for matcha in the U.S. They also use Uji matcha which made me even more excited to try it. Our first visit to Rok was only two days before we left LA and I liked it so much that I had to have it one more time before we went home. On the morning of our flight, we got up a little earlier just so we could stop by and get their drinks before heading to the airport! I got the Earl Grey Matcha Duo again while my husband and son both tried the Lotus Einspanner. My son has never been a coffee drinker so I was surprised that he wanted to try one. I honestly expected him not to finish it but he LOVED it! He did tell us later that the caffeine really got to him, though. LOL. There really isn't a cafe in my area that does matcha drinks well so I was especially happy that I got to enjoy such good matcha during this trip. Rok has definitely become one of my must-go cafes in LA and we'll absolutely be back the next time we visit!

And I had an EXCELLENT chicken Chipotle wrap at lunch that was recommended to me by the gentleman working at memory look. I'm not certain where these wraps are made. Another gentleman would bring them from the building in the same complex. I LOVED my wrap. They have a ton of seating outside too but there aren't any outlets out there so it's harder to WFH out there unless you're fully charged. But was great for separate meetings we all had to attend. The photobooth was fun but we were so thrown off by it taking 8 photos, we had no idea how many poses we would have to come up with hahaha. I would definitely come back here anytime!

The drink itself was good, although I found the prices a little higher compared to other matcha spots I've tried. Service was on the slower side, and it took a while for the drinks to come out. The staff were okay, but not particularly friendly. Seating is limited, though they do offer a few outdoor tables and a bench inside while you wait for your drinks. The service was great. The employees were friendly, welcoming, and the overall atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. As for the coffee, it unfortunately wasn't my favorite. I tried the Cloud Latte and found it a bit too thick, lacking the smoothness and flavor I was hoping for. I also tried the Cinnamon Cloud, which was smoother but still tasted fairly bitter to me. Coffee preferences are subjective, of course, but the flavor profile just didn't quite hit the mark for me. That said, I enjoyed everything else about the experience and would be willing to come back and try a few different drinks from the menu. The service and ambiance were definitely highlights of the visit.

This was one of the closer coffee spot with good reviews that I found near the kbbq place (Seogwan by Yellow Cow Kbbq) my family and I ate at for lunch. It was about 0.5miles (3 mins drive). The coffee shop is super large, bright, and has nice background music. There are plenty of seats for people to hang out or study. There are also street parking but can be difficult to cross the street due to cars driving by so quickly without a pedestrian crosswalk on one side. I ordered their signature drink which was the orange espresso tonic with one extra shot for my husband, and the double mango matcha for myself. Both of us really enjoyed the drinks, especially the orange espresso tonic. It was refreshing, clean, and easy to drink. Normally, they include double shots of espresso, which may have tasted stronger for me since my husband wanted three shots, and I usually stick with two shots. The double mango matcha uses fresh fruit syrup so the mango flavor was not too strong and my drink was very creamy due to the signature mango cream on top. Usually, I would enjoy a creamy matcha but it made me more thirsty on a hot day. The service took a bit of time since they had to mix my matcha the legit way with the bamboo whisk. The matcha tasted like premium, ceremonial matcha since it was stronger and authentic in taste. Overall, both drinks were enjoyable but if I had to choose one, I would go with the orange espresso tonic even though I love mango matcha!

Van Dyke Coffee Roaster (est. 08/2025) is a relatively new coffee shop in Koreatown, Los Angeles, at West Olympic Blvd. The cafe features a very spacious interior x outdoor seating; thus, it works equally well for focused work sessions, study days, or a relaxed midday break. They have copious signature lattes, hot/cold coffee, coffee bags, pastries and friendly baristas. Their interior decor is modern with long maple wood center table and a relaxing atmosphere. I came late morning to grab a Flat white. And it was strong despite its hobbit size--8oz-- appearance albeit good quality. The female barista who wore a pulchritudinous blue checkered, white folded sleeves that almost matched my blue/white striped long-sleeved shirt was assiduous. I could have absconded with her. lol. Anyways, their service was spot on, however, the price seems above market price. Overall, I had a good experience from VDC. I recommend you visit.
