$4 hot dog is the cheapest quickest seatable bite around here (if here for small claims, courts, etc). Or else go to the court house snack area for cheaper snacks and maybe $3roller hot dogs. Located inside Cathedral area. Enter on Temple street, and it'll be up the stairs to your right by gift shops. $2.25 chips. Takes credit card.

Valero grill located here in church area. In la. Great spot to chill and relax after mass we had some breakfast burritos and they was yummy yummy. Price not to bad and there is plenty of seating here. Staff was nice and friendly. I recommend stopping by. But there only open on Sunday at this time till 2 pm. Hopefully they get more support

Turkey pesto panini with no tomato

I came here after mass one day on my lunch break. The menu is very simple and includes soups, sandwiches, salads, and pizzas, among other items. I decided to try the turkey pesto panini. I'm a bit picky and ordered no tomatoes in it, which wasn't a problem at all. I waited only a few minutes for my lunch to be ready. It was served with potato chips, which weren't oily or greasy. I think my panini was pretty good. It did have some cranberries in it, which gave it a good flavor. The pesto wasn't too prominent, which is something I would want. I'd definitely come back and try some of their soups. The prices here aren't bad either. With tax my sandwich came out to a little over $8. It was filling enough to hold me over until dinner and didn't make me feel too full. I do recommend this place and I'll definitely be back!

Galero Grill's the Cathedral of Our Lady of Angels on-site Cafeteria. It's small with a good selection of breakfast and lunch foods. They recommend 3 vegetarian salads for lunch ($9). I just wanted one ($4). My small salad was a nice size. The cheese danish was too. Tasty. Spiritual lunch on the patio by the water fountain with city workers and tourists.

This place is in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels. It's a pleasant place to eat, but the prices are a tad expensive. I think the nice outdoor seating makes up for it. The Cathedral is such a beautiful place and most of the people I saw there weren't going to church. Like another reviewer said, some guys were just talking about politics and having lunch. (I saw people like that too, maybe we saw the same group of people haha) I had a cheese pizza and it honestly wasn't very good, but the tranquility and beauty of the Cathedral kind of made up for it. Maybe the pizza here just sucks, I don't know. It was totally not worth the price so next time I might order something different. It's just such a pretty place to have lunch at! My friend had the cheese danish and said it was really good. I guess I'm getting that next time.

This restaurant is located on the second level of the Our Lady of the Angels cathedral, across the street from the building I work in. There are a lot of marginally acceptable cafeterias in these government buildings, but I really enjoy this place. It can be a bit pricey, but if you stick to the soup and pizza slice combo special for lunch, you won't be disappointed...as long as you remember it's cafeteria food and not a gourmet cafe.

I really like this place. Every time I have to come to the Cathedral for an event, I like to come in for a cup on Coffee, sit down, and chit chat with some friends of mine who also arrive early. I haven't had the food there yet, but hope to have the opportunity in the near future to dine in. The staff is very nice and cater to their customers well.

I love the chicken quesadilla of Galero Grill! I have tried the panini and the bbq brisket quesadilla and even though every thing was good my favorite will always be the chicken quesadilla! It comes with pico de gallo, guacamole and sour cream. The place is on the inside the cathedral building right in front of the main church. The place is super clean, the people working there is very friendly and attentive. The prices are affordable, and they have seating area inside and outside the place. I love it here!

Decent cafeteria style food. Staff is friendly. This is a nice location located in the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels plaza. It is a nice quiet location to have lunch. On the weekend, it is mostly the church crowd after mass or visitors visiting the cathedral.

    Nice salad from cooler!

I got the #1 bestseller and it did NOT disappoint. I can see why someone wouldn't like it because it is rather plain but I prefer plain sandwiches myself. I like the ingredients to speak for themselves and not be coated in extra sugar or salt. I'm also a big fan of pistachio, the amount they put on is not for the faint of heart... hehe This place is clean, the line is efficient and friendly. I recommend stopping by. This location on Wilshire Blvd in Koreatown is the smallest of the three I've visited, with under 10 seats available. It's a compact shop, and most customers opt for takeout. It's a narrow shop, and most customers take their orders to-go. I've previously enjoyed the La Paradiso and La Toscana, with the La Paradiso being my personal favorite. For our first visit with our son, we asked the staff for recommendations, and they suggested either the Venice Beach (Turkey) or the New Yorker (Roast Beef). The staff was incredibly generous, offering a roast beef sample, which our son loved! We also appreciated them providing ice and straws for our water. We ordered the New Yorker ($19.00) with roast beef, porcini cream, tomato, and arugula. The sandwich was thoughtfully cut in half, perfect for sharing. The schiacciata bread boasts a crispy exterior and a soft, chewy interior, which beautifully complements the meats and cheeses. We opted to substitute the porcini cream for mozzarella, which was sliced into perfect bite-sized pieces and tasted incredibly fresh. The roast beef was thinly sliced and tender, the tomatoes were fresh and sliced to perfection, and the arugula added a delightful peppery crunch. It's a well-balanced sandwich and one of the best in LA. We would definitely order it again. A big thank you to the female staff member who expertly cut the meat and offered samples, assisting us in making the perfect choice for my son's sandwich. This experience was truly a positive one for our family. I would definitely return to AAV for the excellent food and service. Given the small size of the shop, takeout is recommended, especially during peak hours. The sandwiches at AAV are so good! Fuggedaboutit!

It's almost like a mini pizza but with delicious crisper crust that isn't overbaked. 4/5 Fried Cod Laffa had a magical mix of flavor. Personally I love the contrast between the texture of the cod and the variety of fresh vegetables. The sauce complimented and brought all the ingredients together. The soft yet firm Laffa held this hefty meal. Had to eat half for lunch and half for another time. It fills you up! I would get this again when I'm here. The interior has this gorgeous overhead natural light with some hanging plants that almost like introducing a bit of natural nature indoors. The menu is not complicated or very large, and has a specialty item like a stuffed bread with different options named after possibly the founder of the restaurant. Khachapuri is the item, but we did not get it this time. We got a Chicken Ceaser Laffa wrap as well as a Chicken Parm and Bolognese sandwich. They did not take very long to get prepared and brought to our table. These are very good size sandwiches, you can easily eat it as two meals. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and helped us make our decision on what to order. It is a very bright place. Has odd artwork, not really a style or anything. A picture of a cow, a watercolor landscape. A fish chart. Something else that I forget.... Just odd, does not really work together, but oh well. Maybe these are from employees or were donated or something. But on to the sandwiches.... They were really good. I think I liked the Ceaser better than the chicken parm and Bolognese sandwich. But it was a hot day and the Ceaser was a bit more refreshing. The bread and wrap were good. Lots of sauce and dressing. Lots of stuff stuffed into the sandwiches. Good stuff. Parking can be tricky. I would like to try out some of the other menu items one of these days.

The Godmother is good but disproportionately acclaimed, and I'd never wait in line to get it. Thankfully, it's easy to order ahead. I did this through DoorDash on the drive over to Santa Monica, where we were already headed to catch a Sunday afternoon play. We walked in and saw the zoo at the deli counter, then learned that DoorDash pick-ups were in a different corner of the grocery. There was a confusing sign that indicated "catering & on-line pick up around the corner to the left," which in its ambiguous phrasing, led me to a place I wasn't supposed to go (it was apparently only for catering orders, but what about "catering & on-line pick up" excludes DoorDash orders?). A snippy employee cast me out and completely ignored my explanation about the sign. But other than that, the pick-up was quick and painless, much better than waiting in that line. It was like going to the DMV with an appointment vs. without (one of my favorite Broad City gags). We looked around the store, which was quite nice, a sizable gourmet grocery with lots of wine, deli goods, tinned fish, etc. My husband bought a lemonade and learned that Bay Cities doesn't take credit cards. (He was able to use an ATM card.) We took our pick-up order, bagged in a maximal amount of plastic, and grabbed one a handful of shaded tables in front of the store. We'd planned to take our sandwiches to a park, but this was a pleasant place to eat. I got the Godmother with the works: prosciutto, ham, capicola, mortadella, Genoa salami, and Provolone; hot peppers (you can also get mild), Italian dressing, mayo, yellow mustard, lettuce, onion, tomato, and pickles, all on a fresh Italian roll. The bread was great, sturdy with a good crunch, and I liked the sandwich well enough. It was OK+ for sure, just not really a standout in my map of Los Angeles sandwiches. I also ordered a side of snap pea salad, with fresh snap peas, mandarin orange, black sesame seeds, sesame oil, and salt. I love snap peas but I guess I don't love them quite this raw and underdressed. This was a disappointment. If I lived in Santa Monica, I might go to Bay Cities more than once every 16 years. But unless I'm still missing something, it's not really worth a drive.
