We came to try Conduit for a birthday dinner and called ahead to make a reservation for the evening. Although the presentation on everything we had was pretty good, the only dish that really stood out were their crispy brussels sprouts and kohlrabi appetizers. The lobster flatbread was ok, the roasted mirepoix pieces were chunkier than they really should have been and made you feel a bit jipped on the amount of lobster used for the dish (probably would have been better with langostinos). Despite being rather sparse in the dining room, we were surprised at the slow pace of service.

The restaurant/bar has a trumpet as their logo and has some New Orleans decor. I was here for a Meetup group on Friday, February 18, 2022 after I had work travel to Loudoun County, Arlington was on my way home (although not my fastest option). I opted to get a fried shrimp Po Boy sandwich with mac n' cheese. It was great. I think it's the best Po Boy I've had the DMV although to be fair, I haven't had that many in this area, but this one was definitely delicious. Mac n Cheese was better than it looked. It wasn't the very best mac n cheese, but it was above average. I think I had a wine too as I barely made it there in time for happy hour, which ends at 7, as I had a movie walking distance from there at AMC Courthouse beforehand. I think I ordered straight from the bar for quicker convenience then ordered food at the table if I remember correctly. Server was nice, but took a bit of time, but it was a large group; it wasn't anything unreasonable. I also talked a lot with this woman, walked with her to her car (it was on my way to my car a block or two further) on that cold windy night. We talked outside briefly, but it was quite cold. So, we parted by but not before I asked for the digits; we exchanged phone numbers. See my 5-star Urban Thai review written on 2/28/26, which tells about my 2 dates with her. She was kind of strange, but she was a good person in spite of her not being a good match for me.

This is probably my 10th time going for this exact combo and I'm mad at myself for not capturing all the moments prior but it's hard to let the phone eat first when the food is that good! We got a burger, chicken sandwich and the steak salad! & everyone got an espresso martini! Truly we all couldn't stop raving about each of our individual drinks! It was fantastic! The staff is also always very lively and friendly and though always busy seemingly very attentive still! I can't wait to go back and go there for dinner and stay late for the drinks!

So I'll pose this questions to my fellow beer hunters. What matters to you most ... atmosphere of the bar, or an excellent selection of craft beers on tap, including a few that are hard to find, at rock bottom prices. If you are in the camp of the latter, then you will love Arlington Pub. I stumbled upon Arlington Pub a bit on accident. I was in the area and had heard lots of great things about Galaxy Hut and wanted to check them out. I got there about 4:15PM and found their door locked. Having to REALLY need to use the bathroom, I decided to hop across the street to Whole Foods, take care of business, and then figure out a place to kill time until 5PM. As I headed upstairs towards the restroom, I saw that my search for a place to kill time would be over quickly. Behold Arlington Pub. They had recently had a tap takeover from Oskar Blues Brewing, the brewery best know for Dale's Pale Ale. Tap takeovers are a great way to find and sample beers that you rarely see. In this case, it was the excellent Ninja Cow ESB. I found it a bit dark in color for an ESB, but had that characteristic ESB smoothness. They were on the tail end of the tap takeover, so some of the OB brews were tapped, but had been replaced with some interesting options. They offer a flight, so I decided to sample a few of the other OB offerings - their 10 Fidy Imperial Stout and Gubna Imperial IPA. I also threw in selections from other breweries - Sump Coffee Stout from Perennial and Allagash Curieux, a Belgian Tripel aged in Jim Beam bourbon barrels. These are all VERY strong beers, but the flight pours were generous, and there was no upcharge on the strong brews. The flight, normally $5, was $4 for happy hour. And prices like this is what makes you forget that you are enjoying cheap craft beer on the top floor of a hipster grocery store. My pint of Ninja Cow, normally $3, was a dollar off for happy hour. Throw in a double espresso to finish off after the flight, and my tab was under $10. And the bartender/barista actually functions as a checkout cashier, so there is no need to tip and no place for tipping on a credit card transaction. (I didn't ask if they were allowed to take cash tips ... I didn't have cash, so it was a bit of a moot point.) So if you can get over the fact that the this is a bar on the upper level of Whole Foods, you'll find Arlington Pub is a great place to kill some time and enjoy a great selection of craft beer at insanely cheap prices.

All the other Whole Foods have a much better Beer & Wine selection and are far more cleaner. The glasses all have lip marks and the tables have chunks of old food and are sticky ALWAYS! There are also numerous surveillance cameras & the lighting is extremely harsh above the bar which I find very odd. It's a shame because I love eating & having a drink or two at Whole Foods for it's a comfortable place to be alone & not feel like I'm at a meat market. I now many times go to the Fairoaks location which has lower nice lighting, is clean and has a great atmosphere.

Had a friendly greeting from Cat, who informed me that they didn't have any tables available at that time since it was trivia night and a popular time to be there, but one would probably be opening up soon. Thankfully I scored two spots at the bar and told her I'd take that table when it was available. So I bellied up to the bar and admitted to the bartender, Amir, that I'm not great at beer. He was gracious and had some recommendations and let me taste a few options. I landed on the La Chouffe Belgian blond ale. Tasty! And I loved the little gnome on the glass, the brand's adorable mascot. Friend joined, ordered a beer and we were quickly escorted to our table to order dinner. They opted for the classic house mussels, served with fries and several slices of bread for sopping up those tasty juices at the bottom of the mussel pot. I got the cheeseburger and subbed onion rings for the regular fries. Rings were great(!) but the burger was pretty dry and mediocre. We also shared some mozzarella sticks and they were tasty. Lastly, we decided to participate in the evening's trivia festivities. We didn't expect to do well, especially since we were the only 2-person team. Turns out we ended up getting 2nd place. Fun!

I brought my cousin and he remembered from the previous time that I performed there that the food was good and we're both kind of picky. Jose, the bartender was excellent all weekend. I ordered some wings and I asked him what flavor he recommends and he said old Bay, which I can't remember if that was even on the menu but they were outstanding. I don't always love breaded wings, but they were not heavily breaded and I am originally from Virginia so I'm very familiar with old Bay. I was actually a little nervous they were gonna go kind of strong on it to appeal to people that are out of town or just wanna hype up the whole old bay crab seasoning and it wasn't that at all. It was a great recipe. The next night, I got the burger and it was also excellent. Also, in terms of comedy, the comedy loft is on point. Most people don't know how much the size and the shape of the room matter but it makes a huge difference if you have low ceilings. I think that plus the brick walls just capture all the laughter and I've done shows in there that had 12 people and I've done full rooms and either way it feels explosive in there when people laugh. Anyhow, highly recommend it both for guest and comics! Thanks for a great weekend! Jeff Kane

The wings and truffle fries were almost $20 each - the exact same price as all the burgers. They only have canned cocktails and the selection is also very limited. I believe only 3 types of canned cocktails are available. There's a beer and wine menu but I'm not sure how exhaustive it is. Our food also took forever to arrive, long after the show started and we ordered about 20+ minutes before the show started. The seating is inconvenient and narrow, and tables and floors are sticky. I'm only giving it 3 stars because my cheeseburger was good and the patty was thick. I would come back for the comedy show probably but not get food or drinks. You're probably better off just getting soda for the two item minimum. I couldn't take any pictures since our food came late after the show had already started and we weren't allowed to take any pictures during the show.
