Came here for happy hour with a friend. They have a fantastic deal! $7 adult capri suns. $1 oysters. $1 wings. $1.50 grilled clams and oysters. Everything was delicious especially the grilled clams! I also ordered the shrimp po boy as they were out of the catfish and the shrimp were a decent side. The Cajun fries were over done for my liking but nothing to cry about. I will say it gets extremely busy and you become forgotten! When we arrived our waitress was very attentive but once the crowd came in it seemed she didn't know how to balance all of her tables. It took us forever to get the check . We ended up waving down another waitress. Would def return early for happy hour and attentive service! read more

Lapin and I here came for the Louisiana Boil Mardi Gras Party. For around $70 a person, we had 1 pound shrimp and 1 pound clams along with all you can drink craft beer for 2 hours. They had around 10 different beers on tap. I believe they were -- Shiner Bock, Fresh Cut, Blue Point Lager, Abita Purple Haze, Captain Lawrence, Fire Island Lighthouse, Smutty Nose, Ommegang Wheat, Blue Point Summer, and Abita Seersucker. The meal was supposed to come with sides such as corn, potatoes and garlic noodles as well. I personally don't drink beer so I skipped the beer portion of the event. Lapin had two beers and didn't like them very much. They had five different sauces [Original Cajun, Lemon Pepper, Garlic Butter, Butter Cheese, and Claw Daddy Special -- which is a combination of all four sauces]. Lapin got the Garlic Butter sauce in Mild heat for his boil and I got the Claw Daddy Special in Medium heat for mines. The food came out quickly and was pipping hot. I got roughly 6 clams and huge portion of big shrimps. I personally enjoyed my sauce as it was very flavorful but not intense. Lapin's Garlic Butter sauce had a weird after taste and I didn't enjoy it as much. Lapin on the other hand preferred his sauce over mines. The garlic noodles were delicious and the half corn cob was good but overcooked. The event was supposed to include potatoes but I never got any. I didn't notice any of the other party goers enjoying any potatoes either. The service was fast and attentive in the beginning but towards the end they were less than responsive. We had to ask a couple of times for a new bucket cause our old one was overflowing with discards. Or when had to flag someone down for the check and had to wait over 15 minutes for our change. Came here last night (WEDNESDAY) night for their $30 Wednesday special and HH. You can only participate in this deal if you have more than 4 people in your reservation and everyone must participate. $30 included 1/2 lb of clams, 1/2 lb of shrimp, 1/2 lb of crawfish, 1/2 snow crabs, sausage, potatoes, corn and bread. Only the crawfish was left at the end of the meal - too much work for so little meat. Got the claw daddy mild sauce and also got the claw daddy spicy sauce on the side. The deal was definitely worth it in my opinion and i will be going back. I also got the adult capri sun - royal garden. Was truly disappointed in their drink. First off, the pouch was only half full when i received it (literally the drink was at the half point mark). Out of that 50% - about 50% of it was ice. Therefore, i paid $7(HH price) for about 5 sips of mixed watery soju. Def skip the adult capri sun and go for a beer... i sure wish i had. Our group also got oysters and fried chicken wings (part of their HH special - $1 each). Nothing spectacular about their oysters or sauce. Wings were extra crispy (which i love) but lacking flavor (which i dont love haha) It gets pretty loud in there. Maybe its because there was a huge birthday gathering behind us. This use to be one of me favorite places to eat some shrimp. My boyfriend and I came here on my birthday over my request. I ordered the garlic butter shrimp as I always do. I receive my order and the food is literally fire in a plate. Having ordered this dish on other occasions i knew how it should taste. I couldn't taste any of the flavors due to the amount of heat they put on the food. I had to return my meal because I wanted to be able to enjoy my lunch. My food came back in no more than 6 minutes at first this didn't seem suspicious. I was excited to finally dig in. I start opening shrimp and notice the same corn i had earlier was on this new plate that didn't bother me until i notice inside the shell there was still spice. THEY HAD WASHED MY SPICY SHRIMP AND POURED GARLIC BUTTER OVER IT. I wasn't going to pay for a meal that the chef decided just to wash and give back to me. So against my gut feeling I decided to return it one last time pointing out to the waitress the spicy seasoning still under the shell. My food came back bland with no flavor no taste literally just butter on some boiled shrimp. And less shrimp than I had before. I gave up and just didn't eat my food. THE FOOOODDDDDD ISSSSSS AMAAAAAZZZZZIIIIINNNNGGGGGG ! I don't even eat seafood and I love it here. I tried the King Crab Legs and Snow Crab Legs 2LB combo and it was amazing. I had the medium spicy and it was sooooo amazing. I couples that with their special sauce and Lord, I was in heavennnn ! They let it marinate and they aren't selfish with the food. Some other places, just barely give you what you pay for; NOT HERE! Maybe I'm not sure how much is what but I feel like I got a lot. I even had to have some of my partners to see if it was just my combo. His were even amazing. The idea of an adult Capri Sun is hilarious to me. Silly me not taking it seriously and gulping it as if it was really just a Capri sun. Let me be clear, THE ADULT CAPRI SUN IS STRONG!!!!! I had the Master Key... soooo yummy & also a Just A Dream *not my fav*. My friends and I also had grilled clams, Cajun wings, crab legs and shrimp. Everything was so good, fresh and full of flavor. Claw Daddy's was great fun and I'd love to come back with a big group. You can be boisterous here without bothering other diners or receiving complaints from management. If you're someone who likes joking, laughing and making a general ruckus, you can be yourself here! This visit was just my husband and I as we were intending on grabbing a quick bite at The Meatball Shop but on the way we passed Claw Daddy's and figured we'd go in to see if there were any free tables around 6:30/7pm. The seatme app on Yelp had showed no availability and I had spoken to the hostess 20 minutes before we arrived and was told there were no free tables. Surprisingly, there were at least 3 free tables and we quickly took one. I'm on a mostly vegetarian diet but I made an exception this night because I had been looking forward to trying Claw Daddy's for months! We arrived at 6:45pm so were able to order off the Happy Hour menu (offered until 7:30pm). We ordered 6 raw oysters ($1 each) and 2 craft beers ($5 each) The waitress came around around 7:25pm to ask if we wanted to order anything else off the happy hour menu before it ended and we ordered another 4 raw oysters. They were fresh and tasty, couldn't pass op on the deal! The waitress was friendly, helpful and it was a great plus that she came around to check on us before happy hour ended. We also ordered 1 lb of shrimp or 1 lb of snow crab legs in Claw Daddy's special sauce (medium spice) I found it a bit too spicy and would probably order milk next time because I found the sauce a bit too overpowering. We've eaten at The Boil a few times (another cajun seafood place) and like their sauce much more. Crawfish was also out of season when we dined in January, which was a disappointment. The seafood came with corn and potatoes which were as expected. We didn't order a lot of food but I didn't want to overindulge, especially since I don't typically eat seafood. If we come back, it'll be for the Claw Feast ($35 for a pre-fixe menu for party of 4 or more. (Visit was on January 3, 2018) read more

We returned for the crab legs but the service sucked this time. They brought out food quickly but didn't return after that. No drink refills and no water refilled. We finally flagged down a server and ordered more drinks but it never came. However once we finished our food - they cleaned up the table and brought our check. Then said the drinks were on the way. We cancelled them and wanted to leave. They added an 18% tip because anything over $100 is automatic gratuity. There were two of us ordering a crab pot so hitting 100 was guaranteed. The restaurant was not busy nor did they seem short staffed. We were easily just a forgotten table. I'm sure there are other places w/ the same food and better service. read more

If you are craving the 'get your hands and mouth dirty crab legs (or shrimp) in a bag with yummy spices/seasoning in a upbeat atmosphere' - this is the place to go. Horrible experience! I ordered two drinks, one for me and one for my friend who was in the restroom. My twin sister didn't order a drink because she left her ID at home. I specifically told the waitress I was ordering for two people, me and my friend in the restroom. She went on to say "Under NY Law, you are not allowed to drink two drinks at once." Extremely insulting to insinuate I was trying to order two drinks for myself. My friend who I ordered a drink for comes back, gets carded and places her order. A manager then comes after asking if everything was ok, we expressed our displeasure with the waitress's assumption and as opposed to apologizing the manager asked to see our IDs again. Then proceeds to say under New York we can't order two drinks for one person. There was three of us, one friend forget her ID at home. We told the manager we already ordered two drinks from the waitress, why are we being carded again? At that point we decided to leave and not patronize the business. The manager when asked why we were being carded again proceeds to say "I am not doing this, you can leave." I will be taking this up to corporate, no one should be allowed to feel this way nor should assumptions be made about patrons. We aren't criminals however we felt treated as such. read more

YES YES YES! Checked out claw daddy's from a recommendation from a friend. I was very very intrigued by their adult "Capri Sun" inspired drinks. They were not only well priced ($7 on happy hour) but they were super delicious (Can't go wrong with a little soju)! We ordered the head-on shrimp Louisiana boil ($15) with corn and potatoes and what's awesome about it is that you can pick your own sauce and sides. The amount of shrimp that came in the order was also a pleasant surprise, considering most places skimp out. I also ordered a side of garlic noodles which was absolutely delicious. It was a nice addition to the meal and came in a great portion. The atmosphere was very inviting. Staff was friendly and very attentive. It's definitely a place you want to stop in for great drinks and amazing seafood. My new go to spot when I'm in the area! read more

I absolutely love this place!! The waiters are very friendly and hospitable along with the bartenders. I came here during my second trip to NY and fell in love with the fact that all the lobster is live on site. Since this is the only way I like to eat shell fish it was perfect, and I don't say that about many seafood places. Since I love spicy food I ordered "insane scorpion sauce" with my bag of goodies. Came here tonight for a 6pm reservation for a party of 4 and it was not crowded at all. I didn't expect the atmosphere to be the way it was when I walked in, but it was awesome. The music they played matched the mood you were in while eating seafood and enjoying happy hour haha :) Service was fast and our waitress seemed pretty friendly. We ordered two dozen raw oysters to share, 4 chicken wings, and a side of Cajun fries. The only other time I've tried raw oysters was at a Filipino restaurant, and those were great, so my expectations were pretty high coming here. Nonetheless, I was not disappointed. The oysters bathed in lemon juice and red sauce (not quite sure what it is still) had a unique taste to it, and the meat was not too slimy-feeling. The wings were awesome with ranch sauce and the Cajun fries were probably my favorite side. We wanted more oysters so we decided to get another 16 and also tried 4 grilled oysters. The grilled oysters were very hot and drenched in a cheesy sauce, which added another unique flavor to the overall taste. I can't say which I prefer: the raw or grilled, but the grilled was definitely a nice ending taste to the night. No complaints here; would love to try one of the main dishes/crawfish next time. Prices are great and overall mood is perfect for an early weekday dinner. read more

The bbqed mussels had incredible flavor with a tasty curry dipping sauce. Jowl was tender, fatty, with a fresh fish sauce. Crab fried rice, excellent. Crab curry, very tasty. Crab glass noodles, sooooo good - must order! Overall Fish Cheeks is everything and more. I can see why this restaurant has remained so popular since opening years ago. Five stars!

It was carrying a large amount of roe, which I was actually happy about because I enjoy it and didn't want any of it to go to waste. However, the roe deep inside wasn't fully cooked during the initial steaming process. I had to go back and forth with Ash and the kitchen staff several times, but they remained patient, attentive, and committed to making sure everything was cooked properly. Ash, one of the managers, provided excellent customer service throughout the experience. While I was waiting, he kindly offered me a complimentary cup of New England clam chowder, which was absolutely delicious and very much appreciated since I was starving. Before leaving, I also ordered two more 2 lb. steamed lobsters to go. I explained my concern, and the staff made sure they were thoroughly cooked before packaging them. Both were perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. I truly appreciate the team's dedication to customer satisfaction and their willingness to make things right. Their excellent service, combined with consistently great seafood, is why I've remained a loyal customer for years. I highly recommend this place and will definitely be back. Thank you!

The ambiance feels straight of the golden age, which is an aesthetic I'm certainly a sucker for. Even their robust cocktail menu fits the bill and is one of the prettiest menus I've ever had the joy of perusing. Staff was able to sit us a little bit ahead of our reservation which was also much appreciated. Wait staff was also very helpful and attentive, I don't think I've ever had my water glass so topped off! Starting off with cocktails, this place is a gin bar through and through and you'd be making a mistake if you didn't try one of their many options. I went with the 10,000 words, which you simply just give a spirit of your choice (I picked gin of course) and whether you antes) wanted your drink shaken or stirred and the bartender does the rest, so a bit of a surprise! I wound up with their version of The Last Word which was delightfully citrusy but I was hoping I'd wind up with something a little more adventurous app things considered. My girlfriend got the blackberry G&T, which was not only very pleasing to look at but delicious to boot. For food, we started with splitting some zucchini blossoms and beef cheek bao buns (both come in portions of 3). Both were tasty, but I love a good bao bun and these were so light and pillowy, I could have just went for an order of those for my main course. For the entree I went for the roasted half chicken, perhaps the most unassuming choice on the menu but this was maybe the best roast chicken I've ever had. Prepared perfectly, cooked to perfection, excellent portion size, and the kicker of it all was the stunning gravy that I was tempted to lick my plate for. Chicken is very easy to screw up, and they nailed it on all fronts here. My girlfriend went for the Valerie Signature burger with white cheddar and this thing did not mess around! A very rich patty, cooked to her temperature of choice served alongside some garlic truffle fries that made an American classic feel just a little more elevated. Our experience was delightful and I'd love to comeback here again, especially to check out more of the cocktail menu and soak in more of that golden age aura the place gives.

Chicken was ok. had an OK texture; nothing life changing. lamb was fantastic, and fries were just fries (nothing memorable). For a NYC experience, a 1-time, 50 minute wait is acceptable. And, for $13, that's pretty cheap for the amount of food you get. I would eat it again if the line was 5 minutes. Otherwise, I'm positive you will find similar food/better food elsewhere.

We got the viral pancakes and they were everything you'd dream they be and then some for sure very filling and buttery. I got a "pick me up" and it was perfect gave me a beautiful caffeine kick to start the day I recommend for sure. The best item we ordered was the breakfast sandwich with hashbrown, scrambled eggs, and sausage. I think the eggs are cooked with cheese, and as someone who typically does not eat cheese, I didn't mind it. I don't know if I'll be back again - I think the concept of an asian twist on the classic diner does sound intriguing but difficult to execute. I also wasn't a big fan of the wait time. If you typically like heavier, diner food then this spot might be the place for you!

We ordered: -Cleaved cucumbers (5/10- these were good but average) -Fried sticky eggplant (8/10- these were fried but you could still taste the flavors and was a good size) -Very spicy pork dan dan (8/10- delicious but more reliant on the sichaun spice over flavors; not too spicy if you are used to it but can pack a punch if you aren't a spicy food eater; the noodles were great). This was actually my favorite meal in the market and I want to try their other noodles next time I come back to NY.
