My husband and I are regulars here and we love the food and service we always get here. I'd give that a 5/5. But where my 1/5 stars come from is the fact that I wanted to order the sauces on the size that are about 4 oz each. I wanted to order about 4 of them and the servers there told me I HAD to buy 1 side PER sauce container in order for me to place an order for sauces. I thought it was insane having to practically buy about $45 worth of sauces + sides. Of course, I bought what I had to because it was going to be for a party and not for myself- but I honestly think that was ridiculous given that we're returning customers and we love this place. I know it's not their servers fault it's management. So sad.

Bomb! Close in comparison to Boiling Crab. The 3 pound meal deal is such a good deal! You get 2 appetizers included. Between 3 of us it was the perfect amount of food. I forgot to snap a pic of the wings but I HIGHLY recommend. I got both bbq and buffalo, my favorite was definitely the bbq. They don't overdo it on the sauce and the wings are perfectly crisp. Food comes out quick and wait time on a Saturday afternoon wasn't too bad.

My favorite local go to spot when I'm craving shrimp boil. The flavors are delicious, I like the seasoning, the combo of garlic and spices compliments the shrimp perfectly. We usually add sausages and red potatoes to our 1lbs of shrimp. We counted 19 shrimp in our 1 lbs bag. Service is great. All the servers were very nice and tentative. Ambiance is nice, lots of booths and tables to sit at.

My boyfriend and I love coming here! Place is usually not busy and the food is great! We live the garlic fries! If you can't handle spice get mild and lower. Medium is a bit spicy. The sprite was crisp as well! Loved it. The service is good too!

Dinner at Claws for the first time with a friend. I ordered the shrimp with all three flavors. The shrimp was really delicious, strong flavors and fresh tasting, and the service was great. The corn was mushy - which is something I notice to be common for seafood boils - although wish it wasn't.

Catfish fillet was not good. Quality of catfish was poor. The fish was not firm like the catch we have in America. It was a SWIA catfish. Really mushy not flaky.Cajun boil was good . Customers service was bad. Our server was more interesting on watching the tv and their phone than helping us. It was only 3 table that was there. Also he forgot to add our garlic noodle that we ordered. Only seen him twice , taking the order and dropping off food. The host did more work than everyone in there. All the servers suddenly disappeared. Also they charge for sauce when I ordered a side of sausage. Total was $11.25 for sausage with their sauce.

Came back to celebrate my daughter's 25th birthday. It was an 11 person party so we ordered 8 lbs of shrimp along with sausage, potatos and corn. Also came with fries and spicy edamame. Food was great! We were served by Aaron. It was his 4th day working here. He did a great job with serving us.

We ordered the 3lb combo with chicken wings and Parmesan fries. AMAZINGGGG!! So fire well worth visiting. Ordered peeled shrimp and crawfish with the cannonball sauce.. Big crawfish definitely a lot of me and the flavor OMG!!! Do not get the edamame not worth it.. but to each their own, just saying that that's all. We originally ordered that but the flavor was not it somewhat tasteless so we sent it back and they were so nice about it. I will say service and food here and the pricing is amazing.

I absolutely love the seafood boil here. The seasoning is on point and is spicy with flavor. Staff was good at checking the table. I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the restrooms. Also the outside sinks were out of order.

Ask the Community - Claws Restaurant

    Can we reserve?

Are you you open? Phone number goes straight to voicemail :(

Are they open, call goes straight to voicemail?

Yes they're open. I think something is wrong with their end of the phone call because it always goes straight to voicemail unless you call like 10 times.

Does anyone know if they are open today? I tried to call but no one answered.

    I believe that are closed!

Does anybody know their hrs of operation? I have been trying to order for days now and nobody answers.

    Current hours are Thursday-Sunday 12-8pm 05/24/2020

    Do they take reservations?

No they do not take reservations

    Do they use msg?

    Nope

Are you guys open on Thanksgiving?

    No they are not

Do they sell their sauce by itself? If so, how much is it?

No, they do not. You would have to purchase one pound of seafood per extra sauce on the side.

The sauce in the bag felt a bit... watered down like it went for a swim before meeting the seafood. For a party of four, we ordered: SHRIMP LOVER COMBO, LOBSTER ROLL, SIDE OF RICE, BASKET OF SEASONED FRIES, AND MAD DOG XXX SAUCE on the side. Portion-wise, we left comfortably full and only slightly questioning our life choices. The Shrimp Lover Combo can't be modified. We chose Stinkin' Special and Spicy, which came with a plastic glove so you can dig in like a civilized gremlin. The Stinkin' Special was a generous blasts of Old Bay and enough garlic to ward off vampires. The Mad Dog sauce wasn't shock-your-soul spicy, but it definitely lingered. I was still feeling its friendly burn hours later and well into the evening. The LOBSTER ROLLL was tasty but fleeting. It's one of those dishes that makes you realize the meal is almost over right when you're hitting peak satisfaction. A little emotional damage there. We wrapped it all up with deep-fried Oreos and ice cream, which was an instant win. Sweet, cooling relief after all that heat. I came here salivating with such a craving after browsing Yelp for a great place to eat, which I…read moreusually do when I'm searching for something new to try. I came here for seafood, specifically their Oyster Rockefeller, because I haven't had it in decades. It's one of my all-time favorite dishes, along with foie gras, bone marrow, head cheese, suckling pig, and more. I was happily surprised to discover it's located across the street from my favorite studio, Mr. Inkwell's Classic Tattoo & Piercing. I guess I didn't pay close attention when I mapped out directions--a real downside of relying on GPS these days. I remember when I used to memorize streets, locations, and directions every time I visited a new place or traveled. Anyway, I digress. The place is fancy and spacious, with a market out front, divided into three or four sections: the bar stools right in front of the bar, the bar seating area, the main dining space, and an enclosed patio. The employees all looked experienced and mature, like they had been there for more than a decade. The three hostesses at the front were younger. After looking at the menu, I decided to start with their peach puff pastry topped with vanilla bean ice cream. When a dessert catches my eye, I often prefer to indulge in it first because I might be full afterward. It didn't disappoint. I took my time, savoring every bite. The freshly cut peaches had a nice bite, while the puff pastry was crunchy and flaky, with its very tasty cream. The vanilla bean ice cream was simply delightful. After finishing, I didn't want to spoil the high from such an amazing dessert, so I decided to take the oysters home. It's half a dozen. Presentation-wise, they're a bit underwhelming compared to previous ones I've had. And just so you know, I used to work part-time as a server at an upscale American restaurant at the top of a fancy old hotel in Long Beach, at a well-known authentic Italian pizza place in San Diego, at a small Korean bar in Torrance, at a family-owned Filipino restaurant, and at a Japanese fast-food chain, among others. Even with a full-time 8-5 corporate job, I still worked part-time as a server, dining host, and karaoke hostess. My three favorite pastimes are enjoying delicious food, meeting new people, and discovering new adventures. To continue, my biggest disappointment was that two of the six Oyster Rockefellers didn't contain any oysters at all! It's baffling how that could happen. Usually, Oyster Rockefeller looks bulky with build-up depth from the spinach, cheese, butter, and seasonings on top of the oysters themselves. But these looked dull and bland with a plain flat top. They also weren't that hot. It wasn't really appetizing. Two of them only had the adductor muscle (that round, fleshy part attached to the shell), which I actually love, by the way. So you see, I couldn't be mistaken, as I slurped the oysters only to taste the spinach, cheese, butter, and the little bitty meat muscle I had to scrape a little off the shell with a fork. There were definitely no chewy, soft, and tasty oysters. I hope it was just a simple mishap, especially for an upscale restaurant known for its seafood dishes. Hopefully, a member of management sees and reads this review and takes corrective action to ensure this never happens again. Please note that the usual price for great-tasting Oysters Rockefeller at a well-established restaurant is $30. This place charges $25, which makes me think twice. But then again, some of its dishes are priced a few dollars lower than most, except for the dessert, which costs a few dollars more at $15. However, I still enjoyed it so much that it doesn't matter to me. In life, there are always pros and cons when it comes to overall preferences. It is always up to you to try things yourself and not rely on someone else's opinion, which might prevent you from discovering new things. That said, I am willing to come back to try other dishes that look equally scrumptious and reasonably priced: Toodle-loo, my darling readers. Until next time.
