    Chicken Shahi korma

Small venue, delightful polite staff. Best chicken dishes, korma and vindaloo we have Jan in a very long time. Lots of flavors. Nice on the thinner side naan. Will be back! Ambiance is usual strip mall style but very kempt and clean.

While the food smelled great, all the protein in the curry were quite dry. The vegetable curry was the best in my opinion because the vegetables were cooked through and soft (not mushy). There are better Indian restaurant options. Garlic naan (4 slices) - great garlicky flavor, no complaints here Keema naan (4 slices) - was ok, first time getting it ever so not sure what to expect. The meat in the naan was dry Chicken tikka - ok flavor with a bit of spice (can hardly taste it) there were large pieces of chicken which were dry Butter chicken - mild in flavor, also had dry chicken Lamb vandaloo - lamb was also dry, flavor was mid, has bits of carrots in it Navratan korma - the best tasting one IMO, vegetables were cooked through, balanced flavor Service - we were a table of 4 and the server kept mistakingly giving us sets of 3s (3 cups of water, 3 sets of utensils...), food was also slow to come out

Ordered takeout from here for a large family dinner. The owners were friendly and helpful when I picked up the order. They labeled all the dishes, so it was easy to distribute at dinner later on. We ordered a lot of things, but I only tried the stuff I ordered which were the paneer samosas and chat papri. Samosas were a decent size and tasted good. I would say the chat papri was a lot creamier / has more yogurt than I'm used to from other Indian restaurants. I ordered it as my meal, thinking it was going to be more on the dry side and not super white (I'm assuming from a lot of yogurt) and more "healthy" as I've had a lot of other versions that were different. It was just okay for me. Everyone else also enjoyed their food, so overall I'd say it was a good choice.

They sold me expired rice pudding two days in a row! I didn't mind it the first time because I thought it was just a mistake and it was just for today, no they sold me EXPIRED rice pudding again! This tells me they don't check their foods before they serve or cook them. I went to google thinking it was normal for the rice pudding to be thick but both me and google know it's supposed to be liquid. I'm so disappointed this could cause serious health issues.

(RESTAURANT NOT RECOMMENDED!!) first off i called their phone 3-5 times and no one picked up, second i ordered the butter chicken and it came with yellow rice (which is NOT indian rice), the rice is sweet which is disgusting. They're so cheap they couldn't even afford to give basmati rice or some decent rich with it. Third the chicken was cooked to shit, very chewy, so sweet (i ordered spicy), food was OVERLY expensive compared to the food quality, i recommend going to another restaurant.

Awesome food and awesome service. Great amount of patience with helping to choose vegan options. I'll definitely return!

A class act in the Frederick dining line-up. Virtually ten straight years of positive experiences deserves a mention.

How in the world have I never Yelped this place? I literally order take out from them weekly…read more I'm going to prefix this review that if you're the kind of person who thinks Moby Dick has great, authentic food... you shouldn't come here. Kabob n Karahi uses authentic spices, and what you get is like the difference between chef boyardee and actually going to Italy. This is a very local chain, and the restaurant honestly feels a bit like a high school cafeteria. It's probably not the place to go for a date night. :) This is why I have gotten take out 47191 times and eaten there once. The food is amazing, and going in does have the benefit that they'll often have specials not in the menu. I'm currently polishing off a lamb kabob, and I actually found a black cardamom pod in it. That's such a different flavour than you'll get most places (and despite the name, it's not cardomom). It's rich in sumac and just YUM. Stop in and grab dinner in the way home, for something flavourful, unique, authentic and just plain different.

The whole meal was packed with flavor and I enjoyed it. I do wish the portion of the meat was slightly more and I really want something spicy but thats not really an option. The kheer (rice pudding) and gulab jamun (cake balls) were great! The kheer has a really good flavor and I always mix them together which makes a great combo.

Yesterday, Friday, August 28, 2026, we took our guests from New York to Toosso, located at 20921…read moreDavenport Dr., Sterling, VA 20165, for lunch. Our guests were particularly interested in visiting because Tooso is a familiar name to many people from Karachi. Their first impression, however, was less enthusiastic, especially considering the restaurant's size and ambiance. We live in Herndon and have eaten at Tooso several times, although, for some reason, there had been a gap of a few months since our last visit. The restaurant appears to have changed since then. The seating area has been reduced, apparently to make room for office space and employee facilities. The place now has a somewhat rugged, basic appearance, although the atmosphere remains clean and peaceful. It is casual and somewhat dhaba-like rather than polished or formal. The service is largely self-help: customers have to pick up disposable forks, knives, spoons, and paper napkins themselves. For lunch, we ordered bowls of qeema, grilled chicken, chickpeas, bread, and rice. Unfortunately, we felt that both the quality and portion sizes had declined compared with our earlier visits, while the prices had increased. This was disappointing, particularly because we had recommended the restaurant to our guests based on our previous experiences. Tooso continues to benefit from its longstanding reputation as a halal restaurant serving authentic Pakistani-style food. Its location is convenient, with easy access from Route 7, and parking is usually readily available in the adjoining lot. Overall, while Tooso retains the name recognition and reputation that have made it popular among people familiar with Pakistani food, our latest visit did not quite live up to our expectations or to the standard we remembered from previous visits. I would give 3.0 stars based on our last visit. Zafar Iqbal, PhD
