It's more on the "let the ingredients speak for itself" which I really dig. In the end, you don't feel heavy after the meal and you feel like you had a hearty and healthy meal. My favorite was the lamb shawarma. He toasts the outside pita and it gives it a nice crunch. The lamb is fresher than other places and he doesn't over season it to hide the lamb smell. Other places - if you notice - tends to use cumin a lot of mask the lamb smell. Not here though. The falafel sandwich was okay. It was colder than the lamb shawarma. But the falafels were made right there in front of you. I got the sujuk sandwich too (which is a type of sausage). It was a breakfast burrito basically. Our order took 20 mins to make and he makes it right when you order. So be prepared to stay there and peruse around. Some ingredients there were interesting. The one thing that caught my eye was a bottle of pomegranate molasses. He sells it close to 50% what Harris Teeter would charge and he has various brands of pomegranate molasses. I use pomegranate molasses to make grenadine for cocktails. Also has orange blossom and rose water (also both used for cocktails) I like this place and the guy is nice and sweet.

Everybody was very nice and allowed us to basically sit where we wanted. Our waiter was very attentive, and took care of all of our needs. My wife got the Gyro Platter with rice and Lemon Potatoes. She loved it. I got the Gyro Pita with a side salad and my son got the Gyro Pita with fries. A friend of ours got the Chicken Souvlaki with Lemon Potatoes and we all lived our meals. For dessert, we all got the Chocolate Brownie, which had some whipped cream on top, and came warm. It was absolutely fantastic! The burners weren't keeping any of the food warm enough. A non-paneer sabzi is necessary and standard but somehow, nowhere to be found. The floors should NOT be sticky. Ever. But especially 20 minutes after opening. Now moving on the food itself: Hits: - peanut chutney: glorious, delicious, wish I had actual idli or uttapam to eat it with but the fluffy and soft mysore bonda was fine too - curd rice: lovely classic flavor and texture, hit the comfort food spot - Chai: hot, flavorful from the chai masala, and again very comforting - Lassi: right combo of tangy and sweet without being milkshake-like thick Gobi Manchurian: good as a dry app, right amount of breading for the cauliflower. This was spongy idli texture which is great for...regular idly. Masala idly should have some crunch. Also not warm enough. Totally off putting to the point that I couldn't finish. I can overlook service issues in a buffet if the food is good. I can overlook issues with food if the service is great and issues easily rectified. The thing is, there were multiple servers at the ready but they couldn't get it together enough to provide a bowl for sambhar (what are we supposed to eat it in?!?!), we had to ask for serving spoons and tongs more than once and didn't get water until the tail end of the meal. This place just isn't worth the almost $20 they want per person for a buffet. Save your money and irritation.
