So been going there as it has continued to take a huge dip, tonight was the kicker I keep going back cuz of friends and loved ones. So 15 players at 15 bucks a player they take 2.50 a player charge 8.5 for a beer the another 45 to the bar I in my 64 years have never been to a bar that takes money out of tourney mony , they get all the drinks of players and friends@would be close to empty if pool wasnt happening! Well for a long time neighbor, I frequent the Clayton club. I realize they have changed ownership, however, there have been no upgrades no music to speak worthy of and the prices are way higher than other bars within 5 miles. It is a shame they don't understand their clients who patron their business. Lower your prices and you will have a better attendance. Maybe one star read more

I've enjoyed going to Clayton Club for years. But during festivals I noticed recently that the prices fluctuate based on (I don't know?). So I tested this yesterday. I went to the outdoor bar for a beer. $9 for a Coors Light bottle. Wow! So I went to the indoor bar later and ordered the same thing. This time it was $8. Then back outside for a third one. Different bartender, I ordered a diet coke and a Coors Light. $14. I asked how much the beer was. $11. I told the bartender it was $9 out here just a short time ago. The bartender then ended up charging me $11 for both the coke and beer. I will say this, I didn't recognize any of the staff so maybe they were temps for the festival? Or maybe they've changed management? Either way, I'll avoid CC during festivals. read more

This large man cussed me and my friends out for absolutely no reason tonight. He told us to "shut the f*** up" multiple times before even entering. Look, I was in college and I've experienced men at entrances to bars/parties who have a crazy power trip but I draw the line at a real establishment in a small town like Clayton. First time visiting this local bar. What a cool historic spot. The bartender, red hair and glasses, I think her name is Stevie, amazing!!!! She pours a great drink and is very friendly. We've been to this place 5 or 6 times now and still have yet to have a decent experience. Definitely a regulars bar and bartenders clearly show favoritism. Drinks have been different prices from different bartenders. Has taken forever just to get drinks, they don't clear chairs from the bar on busy nights so you're ordering between people sitting down. The vibe is off in there and clearly they don't care about people coming back. I've had bartenders put others drinks on my tab. I think I'm done trying to give this place a shot as our local watering hole. This place has potential but whoever is managing it doesn't do a great job. read more

Went to the bar with my wife last Friday night to see our favorite bar tender J.B but she wasn't in. We were served by Stevie with the red hair who I'm pretty sure had been drinking before we got there. She asked me to leave a review and she would give us free drinks. We stopped into the Saloon the other night on our way home from work and my boyfriend and I had a terrific time listening to live music, chatting with regulars, and checking out the local pictures on the walls. The place is decorated top to bottom (there are truly boots and bras hanging all around) and it's just full of a fun and friendly vibe. Even a small library of books in the corner next to the skill-claw grab-machine game (which is stocked full of stuffed animals and some adult prizes). It had been years since either of us had stopped in here but bartender Rebecca made us feel at-home and welcome. Stopped in for a drink after having dinner across the way on Tuesday. The bartender behind the bar, a red headed lady with glasses probably late 30s, literally said "IDs now guys". Not a hello, nothing.. I brushed it off put my friendly face on and walked toward the bar. Handed her our ids, the vibes were just weird. My boyfriend and I each ordered a drink. I got a high noon, my boyfriend got a corona with lime. Our friend, told her he'd take a water. She said "I'll give you a cup and you can get it yourself" and pointed to a water jug in the corner. My boyfriend asked about the darts, she gave them to us. We received some weird stares like we didn't belong but didn't really care as we figured it is a local bar and that happens. Another friend of ours showed up and joined us. After about an hour just minding our business playing darts, we started playing pool. My boyfriend went to the bar and asked her if she could do yager bombs. She said "when you ask me again don't mumble" , he said louder "can we do two yager bombs", she literally mocked what he said in a slow annunciated way and said "you need to learn how to annunciate your words and speak more clearly." I was literally in shock that she talked to him like that. As if that wasn't bad enough to make us never come back, she began yelling across the bar and me and our friends asking who was driving, our friend raised his hand and she said "oh Mr. Eyebrows over there?", I said "yes the guy who is only drinking water" , she's said "okay well just had to make sure since these two apparently want yager bombs." I'm looking at my boyfriend so confused because we literally had one drink each and now a yager bomb and shes yelling across the bar all in our business about who's driving. It did not feel like this was coming from a place of concern but more trying to embarrass us. It was all around just incredibly odd. We were so uncomfortable. We quickly finished our game of pool. She was then at the end of the bar talking to what seemed to be regulars saying how "she will go toe to toe with anyone who wants to irritate her" pretty much saying that she won't hesitate to be smart with anyone. I'm thinking , we have seriously been nothing but extra nice since we came in here. I'm not sure if it was cuz we are young, or not regulars. But it was seriously the most uncomfortable bar experience ever. I didn't even feel like I could stick up for my boyfriend , or make a comment about us only having one drink without her freaking out on me to impress her regulars. I would not recommend this establishment due to the rudeness and unprofessionalism of this bartender. read more

2 months ago I made reservations for their Beer Garden for 100 people for 9.16.23 3-6pm. We have supported the bar by bring them bands (unpaid) that bring their own following. I have booked this 100 group already 2 times this summer. We attend bands often. Each time I have tried to deal with misty it was extremely difficult because misty won't return text or phone calls. Each time I had to go to the bar and find Dean. Dean said he didn't deal with the calendar that was misty's job. Then he would ask misty to text me. Another words, you must chase them to do business with them. When I tried to confirm with misty (normally the establishment will call to confirm but with misty you must chase her to confirm. Last week I tried to confirm with her. To date she never answered me, yes or no. All I know is she said she made a mistake that she would fix. (I suspected she had double booked us.). I tried for a few days to reach misty but no luck. Today I was able to reach dean by text. He said YES misty double booked us and we were canceled. Before you decide to hold a party in the beer garden you might want to think twice. It's not possible to find a new venue 2 days before your event. I have been going to the Clayton Club for 50 years. Now I will wait for the new owners before spending another dollar there. Sad sad day! read more

I can't begin to explain my disappointment from my last experience at this bar I was there on Friday night with a couple friends and we had a few drinks. There was a female behind the bar amongst others, but she was the one we had a bad encounter with. We sat outside talked. And after 1-1.5 hours We went to close out our tab, my friend, put the tab on her card and we were sitting there finishing our drinks, and the bartender grabbed the receipt and started yelling (yes yelling )at my friend saying that her tip wasn't enough, and that if she can't afford to go out and tip well then she shouldn't go out and telling us that we needed to leave and I've never had an experience like that in my life. I have waitressed for almost 10 years and a tip is not guaranteed and I strongly believe it is earned not guaranteed. even so we hadn't left yet and we were going to be leaving some cash, but after her raising her voice and being so rude, we promptly finished our drinks and left this was not our first time at this bar and usually our experience is OK. I've been coming here every once in a while for a couple years I live in town but I found this absolutely unacceptable for an employee to behave like this. read more

Clayton Club has new owners. So give them a chance. WE LOVE the beer garden for large parties. There is NO charge for using this space. I recently attended a Celebration of Life. The there were over 100 people and the large barbeque was used for our lunch. Live music a few times over the weekend. See calendar.
