Jake and his crew were awesome. We moved from Brooklyn to HB during the week between Xmas and New Year's and my husband drove our stuff in a rented moving truck so I wasn't sure exactly when he would arrive. I called Jake at the last minute, 3 days in advance, for help unloading the truck into our apartment on New Year's Day. He was willing to take the job and even to start at 9-10 in the morning. It turned out that my husband arrived sooner than expected so I had to ask Jake if we could push up the job to New Year's Eve. Again, it wasn't a problem. Jake and his guys were extremely careful, I didn't feel like they were rushing to get the truck unloaded as quickly as possible. They really took their time to not bump walls or ceilings or drop anything. I also didn't feel like I had to hover over them for them to be careful or work efficiently. Our boxes were labeled with descriptions of the contents rather than the room they were supposed to go into, so the guys tried to decipher the descriptions to figure out where the box should go. All in all, I was very happy with the work. Moving is stressful and great movers make a huge difference since there are a lot of shady bait-n-switch, careless, and high pressure ones out there. With any luck, we'll be moving out of the apartment and into our permanent home in a few months - we'll be calling Jake again to help with that move. read more

I called Jake at Clean Cut Movers about an out-of-state move from Hermosa Beach to Prescott, AZ. He responded first to my Yelp request for quotes and was at my house to conduct a visual estimate the next day. I lived in the home for 26 years so the move was more difficult than most. The quote was a verbal estimate as well as the promise move date. Not using a big name brand mover with a central US HQ office concerned me but was actually faster, smoother, easier communication with direct answers and less expensive by a lot. I figured if it was so much less money, something had to 'give'. It didn't! They were on-time, hustled, walked the house then planned the load sequence, handled all items as if they were their own and never once had to worry about a mover hiring temp workers from a Home Depot to make a move where they might not be as concerned about damage or taking items. These guys were like having your family help you move but were stronger and knew what they were doing. Despite my concerns, they loaded what I thought was impossible to do into a single truck, and finished early. The place was spotless, they were through, disconnected appliances and where needed disassembled furniture to remove and load it. The drive to Prescott was exactly on schedule and the off-load went right on time with a full crew all friendly, smart and conscientious. Not saying anything bad about the industry but sometimes moving companies don't hire the most outstanding citizens but these guys do and then some. There was no damage to any items and that included motorcycles and fragile furniture. They were master loaders with obvious experience. I would absolutely trust the estimate and their abilities and would use them without hesitation if/when, god forbid, I have to go through the ordeal of a move again.
