I discovered this concept chain in N.C. and was exited to utilize their weekly meal plans once we moved to Va Beach to coincide with my workouts and busy family life. Here's my experience over the last 4 months: 1) My kids won't touch it. They eat many varieties of clean, real food and they don't care for 90% of what they have tried here (in store, takeout and meal plan). 2) As a family of 6, this will add significantly to your food bill if your kids won't eat the same as the parents. This store lacks stock in advertised family meals. 3) I gained 10 lbs eating Clean Eatz over 3 months. Since I stopped, I have started loosing the unwanted additional weight. 4) Their meal plans are not labeled and suggesting nutrition labels and heating instructions will only get you an eye roll from the "friendly" ladies behind the counter. This is a pain in the rear when trying to fish through 30 meals in your fridge/freezer; then look up individual emails to try and location scant nutritional information from the previous week. 5) Heating instructions are not one-size-fits-all. 6) Buying the weekly meal plans for two must be ordered separately if one person wants regular and one wants less or no starchy carbs. This means you BOTH don't get the discounted meals. So if I want the best price, then my husband and I both have to order together, however, ladies see point #3. 7) Speaking of carbs... do these guys have something against greens? I get so excited to se veggies on the menu and get let down when my green peppers look like a flake of what they should have been. So, all in all: if you have a difficult time with portion control and tend to eat all the wrong foods, then this place can change your life. If you have healthy habits and want to lose extra weight, you can get custom meals tailored to your dietary needs... but you have to wait for Tuesday pickup and the orders are all or nothing (example: you can not pick and choose extra veg because you don't like the starch options for one menu item, and extra protein for another). The steak looked like it but on the half of the sandwich that had more than a teaspoon, there wasn't much taste to it. Most meaty taste came from the grease left on the thick bready "flat bread". No veggies at all were in the sandwich. The tomatoes were nearly microscopic, maybe quarter teaspoon. The side veggie while not excellent or anything was as described and decent. I've been following them on social media so they've been on my radar but when I was looking for a healthy meal prior to a workout and did a search on Yelp, they came up and I had to give them a try! So glad I did! First off, I was impressed by the healthy menu and the number of options! They have salads, wraps, bowls and more! Everything is portion controlled so you left full without over-eating which we are all guilty of doing especially when we eat out! Clean Eatz will help you avoid this while also fueling you with great proteins and healthy options! Plus, everything was really fresh! I went in wanting a salad but when I saw the option to build my own bowl, I had to do that! I chose to do quinoa as my base, edamame, mushrooms, and zucchini as my three veggies and my protein was chicken. There were many options for building your own bowl so you could eat one every day and still not repeat what you ate! You also get to choose your sauce which comes on the side with the option to add their seasonings which sit on the tables. I chose the teriyaki sauce and it was delicious as was the entire thing! Bowls are ordered by small, medium and larger and I learned that the difference between the sizes of the bowls is the ounces of protein-I asked this when ordering and decided to go with the six ounces which was the medium bowl. This was the perfect amount for me and filling without being too much! A drink was also included in the meal price and they offer healthy options sweetened with stevia! Clean Eatz also offers to go pre-made meals or to go anything! I left with info about their meal planning program as well and really think we will give that a try later down the road! When checking out, an option to have a printed receipt pops up on the screen. Then asked the cashier for the receipt and he said "we don't have printed receipts." Then why was it displayed as an option on the screen, dummy? Fool was either too dumb or too lazy to give me my receipt. If they indeed don't give printed receipts (WHICH THEY ARE LEGALLY OBLIGATED TO DO SO, FYI), then they need to fix their checkout options. They have frozen meals to-go in a freezer without pricing on the meals--just a little sign that says the pricing outside of the freezer. How am I supposed to know which ones are "high protein" and therefore cost more without each one being labeled? You won't! Not until you check out, at least. And of course I picked all up charge meals (I'm fancy). Total garbage--label your products with their cost so people can pick to their budget accordingly. read more

We've been using their meal plans for several weeks. At this point I've tried at least a dozen of their dishes, so I think I have a representative sample enough to write this review. Clean Eatz does all of the meal planning, shopping, prep work, cooking, and cleaning for me. All I have to do is eat! It really saves me a lot of time and energy. And each meal is designed to be nutritionally complete and portioned properly. At about $6-7 per meal I think this is fairly priced. Most importantly, the food is doggon delicious! As I said, I've tried at least a dozen of their meals, and there was only one I didn't like. It's my fault for ordering something I knew I wouldn't like - I just had to try to be sure. Today my husband, son and myself ate at Clean Eatz in Va. Beach for the first time and the wraps were so delicious and fresh tasting as well as filling.Good food and good vibes . What I really want to rave about is the customer service and warm smiles on Shadae and Chris's faces. Ms. Shadae was courteous and patient as we looked over the menu and Chris who deliciously prepared our wraps was absolutely wonderful and came out to make sure our meals were good and even gave us some extra special treats "cookies" not sure that's the norm but he could tell we were sticking around a little extra time at our table engaged in deep conversation and surprised us with the cookies. i came here on valentines day. i had to go to an event and help my mom so i was feeling bad about not going to the gym and this made all the difference. i feel like a good balance to not working out is eating well. the store is very clean and sleek. which was really nice. this is a big store and im sure on a busy day they can hold a great number of people. i would likely bring a group of friends here to chill and eat with. they have some really nice menu options. one thing i immediately liked about their menu was that it was easy to read. some places have this huge menu and you have all these choices but to me that can get overwhelming. i like a solid menu with good options. if you want to beef it up do a promotion or limited time item anywhoo. I ran into my old buddy Patrick from my farm fresh days. im going to say he made my food cuz he's great lol but they offer a full sit in area for you to stay and enjyo your meal. i ordered a yogurt parfait on the side and i know a lot of times they can come with almonds which i cant have and the young lady at the counter stated she wasnt sure and quickly looked in their "nutritional book" and found the answer for me. that was awesome. they offer meal preparation even for families which is really nice especially when you dont have time to cook. i looked online at the options and there are some tasty meals there as well i could see myself trying. i go to school online and ive been meaning to test out ordering meals because the cooking before hand....life just...well i dont want to no need to lie lol this location is close to where i live but after looking on their website there are other stores coming soon to Hampton roads. there are also a couple of locations in NC which i visit frequently so its nice to be able to eat good even when out of time. so woot woot ! read more

We did the Meal Plans for the first time last week and we were really impressed. We tried 2 each of 3 different meals - and they were all excellent. We had the Southwest Steak Wrap - my favorite and so filling I cannot wait until this one comes up again. We had the Cheesy Beef + Macaroni - also delicious. We just paired it with some green beans.
