Great service had a table of about 12 people from our church after we had helped at the Food Pantry. Place is very nice and our waitress did a very good job getting all the orders out to us quickly. My wife had the Steak finger basket with Mashed potatoes and gravy. She loved it and everything was great for her. I had the Grilled pork chops and you get two with the meal. Cooked very good not dry as a bone when I cut into it. I had the side salad which was very good with Thousand Island dressing, also had fries with no salt/seasoning which was spot on. we had a very enjoyable time while we were there I did not provide any pictures being we with a large crowd. This is a very rustic-looking Texas barbecue restaurant. I ordered the chopped beef sandwich with a side of potato salad for pickup. It was $14. I really liked the sandwich, and I am glad I asked for extra barbecue sauce on the side because there was barely any in the sandwich. The beef was really good. The potato salad was not that great, and I really had to encourage myself to finish it. It was just very bland and unappetizing. The time was inaccurate because it said it would be ready 30 minutes after I ordered, but after waiting a bit I went in early, and it turns out it was already ready. They just needed to bag it. I would imagine the wait time should be pretty short because they usually have everything prepared at barbecue restaurants like this. read more

The baked potato was absolute perfection with the delicious bacon pieces delicately atop the loaded baked potato. Sour cream was delicious and their fresh butter delicious on it as well. The cheese is also good but all together and oh my goodness it was like a delightful symphony of blissful flavors!!! The tri tips are sooooooo good!!! The sausage is also awesome as well. Well it was my first visit and if you want me to come again customer service is the way to do it. The staff was super attentive from time I came in door until I left. Now if you looking for an upscale establishment this is not the place for you as this is your southern elegance with the trophy mounts of animal heads around the place. For the food I started with half a tumble weed which is basically onion strings. They were fresh and well seasoned. It came with a ranch type sauce and it was OK just not a big ranch dressing person. I ordered two meat plate with the tri tips and ribs. Meat was moist and flavorful. Sides were tasty as well. I am going back to try the steaks since I saw one come out and it looked delicious. I've been going to Mikeskas since they opened the doors, never thought I would see this day. The food is terrible! I ordered a chicken fried steak and it tasted like fish!!! Guess they are cooking fish and other foods together, the steak was so thin you couldn't see it in the batter! I know those are instant mashed potatoes you aren't fooling anyone. I spent 65.00 on a 2 meals, guess I won't be going back, it saddens me to see the quality of food at this establishment now. End of what was an excellent BBQ place. read more

Solid BBQ, above average rolls, and great service. Got dinner here with a good friend to catch up. Host staff was nice and seated us at a booth. Our waitress was very kind. Attentive throughout dinner. The dinner rolls here aren't average. I would say they are second only to Texas Roadhouse. Comes with a whipped butter and what seems to be a cinnamon butter spread. Can't go wrong with either but highly recommend the latter. Usually, I don't ask for refills of rolls but this time was an exception. Only complaint is that I wish the second round of rolls was warmer. Got the two meat BBQ plate with brisket and pork ribs along with broccoli salad and fries. Fries are pretty good. Nothing too great about them but also no issues. They were well seasoned. In terms of the broccoli salad, I got this because my friend recommended it and I've never had it before. I always try to get one side of veggies to be healthy. My impressions from first bite to last. Delicious. Maybe they added an extra dollop of mayo or an extra pinch or two of sugar but man that was the first thing I finished. Only downside is I don't think I got much of a health benefit from the broccoli. Probably better to get greenbeans if you're health conscious. Brisket was nice and flavorful. It was tender too but I did have to use my knife to break it apart. I would say average. Pork ribs were the better meat of the two. More flavorful and tender. I would say slightly above average. Both meats benefit from the BBQ sauce but you could also do without it. Overall, I would recommend this place. Not sure if I'm behind the times as well but it did seem a bit pricy relative to the portion size of meats I got (I think three slices of brisket and three pork ribs) for $17 before tax. read more

Ordered a whole chicken, cut up as well as 2 lbs of Tri Tip...first off, it took me waiting in the drive through 20+ minutes. Stupid me, I should have just left when I was there at 10 minutes. Get home with the food, and the chicken looked awful. The tri tip looked good, but was disappointed in the flavor. My mother reached out to Clem Mikeska's Bar-B-Q to address a serious issue regarding the quality of the food we picked up over the weekend. Unfortunately, the meals we received were extremely disappointing -- the baked potatoes were old and overcooked, the meat was burnt, and the overall quality was unacceptable. This was especially frustrating because, prior to placing the order, a young male employee assured us that the baked potatoes had just come out of the oven and that everything was fresh. That clearly was not true. As soon as we got home and discovered the poor condition of the food, both my mother and I attempted to call the restaurant. However, no one answered. It appeared that the phone had been taken off the hook, giving the impression that the staff had intentionally made themselves unavailable, despite the restaurant still being open. The next day, my mother called again and was finally able to reach someone. She explained the situation and was told that one of the owners would follow up on Tuesday to discuss a refund. Finally, she spoke with Angela Conlan, one of the owners. Unfortunately, Angela approached the conversation with an unprofessional and dismissive attitude from the very beginning. Her tone made it clear she believed we were just trying to get free food or avoid paying -- which was absolutely not the case. We had every intention of returning the food that same night, had someone simply answered the phone. We kept all the inedible food in its original containers and even documented the condition with photos and videos. My mother even sent Angela pictures via text to show the poor quality. Despite this, Angela refused to offer any real resolution. She repeatedly stated she would "send a check" but wouldn't explain why we couldn't simply pick up a refund in person. Angela continued to be rude and uncooperative throughout the conversation, even though my mother remained calm and respectful. Eventually, my mother told her to keep the money -- not because it wasn't important, but because we were so disappointed by both the food and the treatment we received. She told Angela that if the restaurant needed the money that badly, they could keep it -- along with their substandard food. Our family has been loyal to Clem Mikeska's for years. We've supported the restaurant and regularly recommended it to others. But after this experience, we can no longer support a business that shows such disregard for its customers. We will not be returning, and we will no longer be recommending Clem Mikeska's to friends, family, or anyone in our community. read more

Whenever my Mr is out of town working, I don't really feel motivated to cook. However, I am always motivated to eat. Sometimes I crave a good steak and head to Clem Mikeska's where I get the 16 oz ribeye with a loaded baked potato. Sometimes I order the green beans, other times I get the garden salad. Thus far, my steak has been perfectly cooked (medium rare) and the sides are tasty. I have never been able to finish the meal in one sitting, so I appreciate the leftovers later. From experience, I can also recommend the chopped beef sandwich, pea salad, and peach cobbler. Food was just terrible.I used to go years ago when I lived in Temple this isn't same place .Brisket was a ball of grease and fat No smoke ring no favor no anything When I called to speak to the manager it took 5 plus calls to tell me basically I'm stuck with this trash I spent over 80 and tipped the little jar to have no edible food now I hungry all over again .Sadness part the food use to be decent So it you want to buy more fat then meat this your place read more

A few times passing by this place, I've smelled the odoriferous air that surrounds their location; telling myself I'm going to eat their food someday. That time had arrived! While I was craving all sorts of food during the snowstorms, this was the winner of my choices. Upsettingly, their ribs did not meet my expectations of moist deliciousness, although they had flavor. Went this evening for Father's Day. I expect them to be busy, we understand that, BUT service was awful, food was cold and we waited 2 hours for our food. We took it home as soon as we got it to eat tomorrow when we can warm it up. We complained about it taking an hour for 2 orders of fried pickles and funny after we complained they came out 5 minutes later. This meal knocked my socks off and I can't wait to try more of the menu. I ordered over the phone - quick service and was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. Easily accessible location off of I-35, and the exterior/interior atmosphere is very nice. They have a drive through, as well as a to go area inside the restaurant. I was greeted quickly and the order was out in an actual minute. On the way home my truck filled up with wonderful BBQ smells. The packaging was very secure and easy to unwrap, and the food stayed hot on the 10 minute drive home. I always have to get ribs as a first meal at BBQ places, cuz if you can make good ribs you can make good anything. The pork ribs were so tender and smoky! Great flavor and they fell right off the bone. I got fries and corn as my sides, and they were also delicious. The fries were seasoned and thick like steak fries. The corn was buttery with an almost Cajun seasoning all over. Th ribs were adorned with two pieces of white bread, tons of onions and pickles, and a tub of sweet BBQ sauce. My sweet tea was amazing and washed it all down perfectly. I was surprised to see so many so-so and bad reviews when I pulled Clem's up on Yelp. We mainly went here to get take home meat so no sides. We were here on a Tuesday around 4:30 pm. At first we weren't sure they would have enough ribs but they managed to scrape enough together. All the meat was good, but the ribs and chicken were the standouts. The brisket had no smoke at all but it was tender. The sauce was a thin but fairly tasty. Positives...Sweet Tea, hot rolls, very tasty "tater" salad, western ambiance and solid hospitality. Negatives...brisket crust and jalepeno cheese sausage was way too salty, beans were bland and the ribs were overcooked (I was actually served an end rib with burned crust---who does that?) If you're keeping count, my positive comments outnumbered the bad but you don't go to a bbq joint for tea & sides.
