My husband and I were very impressed with the quality and portion size they give!! Our waitress Brinleigh was fantastic!! She offered great suggestions on food and was super friendly!! She is a huge asset to the restaurant. We were talking to other customers around us about the food and her service. Well I heard a lot of great things about this restaurant. I was completely disappointed. I took three people to eat along withy self. One got the veal cutlet, two open face roast beef sandwiches and a chicken Parmesan. It was 5:30, right at dinner time. Food was ice cold. Chicken Parmesan was disgusting. I have no idea what was wrong with the chicken. But it was nasty. The waitress seemed off. She spent way too much time at the table of the single guy next to us, neglecting what we needed, such as refills. Been to Clemmons kitchen in the past and a the food and service was usually pretty good and had no complaInts. However today the service was very lousy. Only saw the waitress twice.....To take my order and when I got my food. Didn't even get a refill and was empty halfway through my meal. Probably won't be back any time soon. read more

This Christmas I purchased my 95 year old mother several gift cards to one of her favorite restaurants, Clemmons Kitchen. Unfortunately just 3 days before Christmas she fell and broke her femur. Sadly we had to relocate her to an assisted living facility in Salisbury. No one else in the family lives near Clemmons so we asked if they would bend the no refund rule because of our extremely unfortunate and unforseen circumstances. They absolutely would not listen to reason or our pleading. This is not a huge corporate type of restaurant like Cracker Barrel or the likes but a small one restaurant business. They could have easily refunded if they wanted to but instead chose to be jerks about it. Customer service at it's finest. Shame on you! read more

I've frequently eaten here and have never experienced the level of service that I received the last time I went here. After putting in our order, we sat there for 40 minutes and watched three other tables that came in after us get their food and ask for to go boxes and still hadn't gotten our food. The waitress, Michelle, never acknowledged that we hadn't received our food. She said something to us when we got up to leave, she gave no apology, all she said was that she put the food order in when she got it. I love it when a restaurant will let me order lunch for breakfast. My chicken salad was delicious- loads of hot crispy chicken. I wish I had asked what was on the salad because I had to spend ten minutes picking out the green peppers and onions. Hubby had the veggie omelet with a side of pancakes. The pancakes were HUGE. If you have been to a southern diner you know exactly what you are getting into- sandwiches, some entree/pasta options, fried food, homemade chips, etc. Clemmons Kitchen boasts all of this at a great price. It used to be my family's go to spot for breakfast (specifically we would go for the french toast). I have absolutely nothing against Clemmons Kitchen. It is what it is trying to be: a solid family restaurant that offers affordable food that tastes good and quality service. Is it the best meal you will ever have? No. But it is plenty good enough for a weeknight and has been for me for over 20+ years now. Please eat here- but don't expect a 5 star fancy restaurant- thats not what they are going for. read more

After 40 years this restaurant is still kicking. Serving up some of the best fried chicken sandwiches, fresh salads, homemade daily specials that change from day to day and much much more . I've never had a bad experience and I really love the entire menu. The service is phenomenal and all the girls are super informative and bubbly. Absolutely the best old school diner experience in the area, no question. Lots of seating, and it's comfortable and well laid out. Menu has everything you want on it and then some. Quality of the ingredients is very good and everything tastes great. Service is super fast and never leaves a cup empty. They even offer you an extra egg for no charge on the breakfast combos! We are here quite often, and I love the diner feel to it. The recent exterior update makes the whole shopping center much more appealing, hope that some day they get to do the interior. The food is 90% of the time really good, but you will always go into places like this and get that "over rushed prepared meal" or one that looks like it was sitting under a heating light. Their cakes are generally pretty good, but I can never seem to find consistency between outings and how the desserts taste. I have a problem with the Men's room at this place. It is just kind of dingy, and a few times it was just a disaster in there. My son doesn't like going in there to wash his hands sometimes, which is kind of funny. read more

Me and my dad used to come here a lot for breakfast. It was always pretty average. The waitresses were always very nice, and there was hardly ever a wait. And if there was, it wasn't very long. However, we stopped going because my dad couldn't get his breakfast order the way he wanted. Most people fully understand, and don't have an issue serving gravy over a biscuit. But when he asked the waitress about it, she said she wasn't sure they would be able to do that. She ended up asking the kitchen and they were able to do it, however she ended up bringing out two whole biscuits with gravy, in addition to the rest of his meal. We have had this issue a couple of times, so now we just choose to go somewhere else for breakfast. Other than this issue, this place is actually pretty good, and worth stopping in. read more

I have heard so many great things about the fried chicken that I assumed it was going to be like it. My son had the mini pancakes, and my wife had the veggie omelet. I have had the tenderloin before, it is so moist, and very good. The chicken However was not what I had imagined. I had said something to the waitress about it being like the fried chicken, and she said it was. It was more like the tenderloin, but was very moist and good, but not sure I would get it again. Our food was good - typical meat and 2 meals - but they were packaged poorly for takeout. When my husband went to open his, it completely flipped out of the container onto another container ( luckily, so we could salvage some of it). A heavy entree had been put on one side of the container so there was no support for the food. Be aware of this - it was the same in several of our containers. What a super mess!! read more

My family and I have been in Clemmons for about 2 weeksI had a procedure at the hospital so this was our go to place ! The young lady who took our order saved a piece of their famous coconut cake! Baked spaghetti is an interesting thing. It's an American (Southern?) twist on an Italian classic. A majority of Italian restaurants don't even have it on the menu. But it can be delicious and a wonderful comfort food. And Clemmons Kitchen has an awesome version. A generous portion with perfect noodles, an appropriate amount of pleasing and agreeable sauce, and smothered in cheesy goodness. And at a reasonable price. We have been here once before for spaghetti, on someone else's recommendation. It was great and we had awesome servings. This time, we chose the veal. It was awful. I can honestly say that it was the worst veal any of us have ever eaten. It was tough and very fatty. That is the exact opposite of what one expects from veal. We had to stop eating it about one third of the way through. We told our cashier about it. She told us that she would tell the kitchen to make it better for next time. However, there will be no next time for us. We left hungry, paid full price for terrible food, and will not be back. Our waitress was friendly though. read more
