While I do trust the staff at Mutt-Hutt, I am a little disappointed with one thing in particular.... My Bailey (75lb German Short Haired Pointer) has stayed at the Mutt Hutt on several occasions. Both for day care and several overnight stays of both short and extended lengths. The advantage of this place is the cage free environment they offer. Bailey no longer sleeps in a crate at home so we thought it would be more comfortable for him to stay at a place that would allow him to socialize freely with the other dogs and at the end of the night, sleep on the hodge podge furniture throughout this house. The last time we picked him up, the staff said Bailey isn't allowed to stay overnight anymore. Ruh Roh! Apparently he "barks" too much. Huh? I could understand if he was aggressive, but he's not. At all. High energy, yes, but he's also the kindest, most gentle soul you'd ever meet. But he barks a tad too much according to the staff. That's like saying your child can't stay at day care anymore because your kid cries or talks too much. Nothing wrong with the kid. He plays well with others and is generally fun to be around, but he makes noise. What? Thanks anyways Mutt Hutt. We'll find somewhere else to take our pooch.

I like that I get a report right after each visit, the house is kept in order, litter box cleaned daily, cat food cans rinsed out, mailbox contents brought in (even though the mail was supposedly on hold). I even noticed that both the door knob lock and the dead bolt were locked when I returned, even though I left the dead bolt unlocked when I left because with the humidity, the door was hard to open. They host play groups, seems like it's done by size. When you book a session, it costs $28 and it is a private session for 30 minutes. About 9 months ago, I reached out to Kelsey needing cat sitting for my 13 year old cat, Zeus. By…read morethe meet and greet, I knew Kelsey was going to be amazing. She was able to instantly bond with Zeus and leave an amazing first impression! She has been great at taking care of him for me while I go on week long trips for my work in Minneapolis and also visiting family out in California. She always sends photos to me and tells me updates everyday while I am out of town. In November, she mentioned to me that Zeus was drinking too much water and recommended I get him looked at by a vet. When I took Zeus in, the vet diagnosed him with feline diabetes. I would not have been able to get him diagnosed as quickly if it were not for Kelsey looking out for me and his best interests. Kelsey has been also to help with administering insulin for me while I am gone so he is able to be his happy and healthy self while I am gone. Since his diagnosis, she has been great at sending me updates on his water intake and any medical issues that arises. Kelsey is a honest, hard working woman with a passion for all animals. She is dedicated to ensuring all animals in her care are taken care of and loved while their owners are away. I would recommend her to any person in the area who needs someone to take care of their animals. Normally I get very anxious leaving Zeus while I travel. With Kelsey, she has been able to elevate any concerns that I have and make me feel comfortable with traveling anywhere in the US (and Canada!).
