This place is the best. I brought in my 10 year old vintage 17" MacBook Pro with a start up problem. Nam was fabulous! He listened to what I was experiencing, then had me demonstrate. He checked a couple things and recommended replacing the drive with an SSD. He gave me an estimate to replace the drive & put my data on the new drive. He said it would be ready in 2 days. He called me at 4:30 the same day & it was ready to pick up. It's flying fast again. Amazing! $300 was way better than a new computer for $2600. I am not from the bay area, and only came up for the summer. So I was a bit nervous about finding someone to trust with my computer. I looked up yelp, and luckily found Gonzalo. One of a kind, trustworthy, sweet, and clear. My computer wouldn't turn on, so I was thinking the battery was fried. I called him up and let him know I was on my way. Apparently it was not a big deal, and fixed it within (literally) 5 minutes. I was in shock. I know if I would have taken it anywhere, they would have made me leave it there, wait a couple of days, and charge me an arm and a leg. I brought a damaged power mac g5. They told me the video card was damaged and they also said the hard drive was damaged. So, I asked to just take care of the hard drive instead of the just fixing the video card. They were able to recover the hard drive and they also fixed the video card FREE OF CHARGE! I brought my own ext hard drive to transfer the recovered data, but my ext hd suddenly stopped working when I went to pick it up. They recovered the data from my ext hard drive and gave me a 1tb ext hard drive FREE OF CHARGE! I was frustrated at times, but they did their best to keep me happy. They were honest from the start. They made no profit out of me. I questioned that and they answered me with they're just here to help. I really appreciated that. These guys are honest and professional, thought my macbook pro had a graphics card problem, but Gonzalo knew instantly that it was an LCD screen problem. He even diagnosed it in front of me, whereas other places only took my word for it that it was a graphics card problem and wanted a full logic board replacement. My husband's iPhone 8 would not hold a battery charge so I brought it to CleverTech. Being an 81 year old lady with LIMITED technical skills I assumed the phone needed a new battery or maybe we needed to replace it. The guy at the front desk laughed & said it would be easily fixed. This shop is great! Before I quoted a lot of stores, and finally chose this. Facts have proved that I was right! Compared with other stores, they have no diagnostic fees. And they are very fast! When they were going to get off work, I put my computer to them. The next morning I was told that the computer was repaired! Often it takes two days to three days! This place is awesome. I brought two of my Mac laptops in for service. One is a 2010 MacBook Pro & the other is a 2015 MacBook Air. My MacBook Pro was functioning really slow and I would often see the rainbow wheel when I tried to open any application. I thought that was strange since I don't download much & I had plenty of memory still available. Another issue I had with it was my battery drained super fast, which was such a big inconvenience. My MacBook Air on the other hand was making a strange noise, which I figured was coming from the fan. I had just come home from a trip and it must've been rattled during my flight. We came in and Gonzalo greeted us and immediately started the diagnostic service. From the minute he started consulting with us, I felt comfortable. I'm not a tech junkie by any means, but he had enough patience to explain everything to me and always asked if we had any questions along the way. After diagnostics he recommended an SSD installation for my MacBook Pro & fan change for my MacBook Air. They did a great job with the laptops and I'm 100% satisfied with the quality of work, but i really want to put the spotlight on their customer service. There were two instances that proved to me that he Gonzalo wasn't just after my $$$. He could've easily gotten more money out of me by telling me to purchase an SSD with larger memory capacity, but instead he looked at how much memory I was currently using, and determined it wasn't necessary to go for such a large capacity since I wasn't even hitting half of 256 gb-- this saved me at least $30-40. The next instance was when I was telling him I think my MacBook Pro needed a battery change on top of the SSD installation, but he was honest and said I should try just doing SSD installation first because there's a possibility that service alone could fix my battery drainage issue & he even offered a full refund if I wasn't happy with the SSD. I won't be asking for a refund because he was correct about everything--the improvement on my laptop's speed and battery life after the SSD was installed is like night and day. It's been a week and both laptops are working like they're brand new. I'm so glad & relieved I chose to bring my laptops here. Reliable and honest, what more can you ask for? Also...I came in on a Thursday at 5 PM, and was serviced right when I walked through the door, and he told me it would be ready the next day by 6 PM. He called me at exactly 5:23 PM the next day telling me my laptops were ready for pick up. Reliable, honest, and spot-on time estimations?!? Brought my phone in and Edwardo fixed the screen and cleaned out the charger port within an hour. On top of that he put on a screen protector for no extra cost. The service came out to $95. I had to have my MacBook Pro repaired so I called around to get some price estimates. The other place I used to go to, which I liked for its excellent prices, gave me an estimate that was 3 times higher than CleverTech. So, I gave CleverTech a try. They not only did a superb job, they returned my computer to me the same day! The other place, which used to be my favorite place, always had a turnaround time of at least 3 days, often longer. Dude named Jesus just fixed my phone like new. Walked out with a new battery and screen, looks and performs like the day I unboxed it. I called in, they picked up immediately and i quickly shared my phone's symptoms. Diagnostics is free so they mention that they can check it out and fix it while you wait around. Since it was basically 1 mile from my house, I swung by and showed them my phone. Screen was bending, performance was getting flaky and lagging so they figured it might be an input and needed a screen replacement. The screen glads didn't have a crack in it, but was held together with the LCD by some tape I bought online. I told them that I read somewhere on a forum that it might be a battery issue. I'm not an expert, but Jesus kindly accepted my suggestion and checked it out. He gave me a quick quote for both repairs and got to fixing it. Battery was the first thing he replaced and he showed me my original battery and it was swollen and puffy like a bad lip plump. He said it would happen overtime since my phone is an iPhone 5s, and it is 2017... I figured that playing Pokémon GO non-stop over the summer didn't help. Jesus didn't replace my screen immediately since it wasn't cracked but I asked him if we could for good measure. He spent more time with diligence and carefully replaced the screen. I read my book on the couch. Just when I was getting antsy, he told me it was done. Seriously, I got a new phone now. He even aligned my selfie camera, cause you know how important that is. I wanted to give Clever Tech, and the employee who helped me, Gonzalo, my highest possible rating. I'm a complete tech imbecile. I needed help with things that normal people could probably handle pretty simply (updating operating system on old 2012 Mac, selecting and installing webcam but with webcam located 30 feet from computer while streaming video and audio to computer, selecting proper cable to connect webcam to computer, finding new battery for older 2008 Mac, selecting cable to connect old 2008 external hard drive to these 2 Macs). I put in a service request and a voice mail message to Clever Tech, expecting to check my email over the next 6 hours to see if anyone had responded. But instead, I got a call from Gonzalo 13 minutes later. He was as nice and as kind and as patient as could be. He was not at all put off my lack of technical ability.
