So I selected this place based on the proximity to my house and the ample selection of 5 star reviews. It was the second time my iphone screen needed replacing. The first time I went to iFixers on Stevens Creek, they have a small hole-in-the-wall/blink-and-you-miss-it operation that charged 100 bucks for a fix on an iphone 4. The guy had tattoos and was chill but clearly was not a tech wiz or pro - just someone who learned how to reinstall iphone screens. I was hoping to find some place a little more pro, and if possible a little cheaper. It was between this and Cupertino Iphone Repair (also with 5 stars, but a drive away from my house in Almaden). I walked into ClickAway, and all the people were cleanly dressed and professional. Everyone was really nice, except the bald guy who I'm guessing is the manager - he had a snooty condescending air about him that was hard to shake. Pointing out little errors in the few, less knowledgable customers' had made. Like walking over to a guy who had a problem with his MacBook Pro and scrutinizing: "Ohhh... It's a MACbook PRO. Over the phone you said it was an iMac Pro. That didn't make any sense to me. This makes a lot more sense now that I see that it's a MACbook." And the guy was apologetic as he was older and less technologically savvy. Whatever. Small thing, but.. unnecessary I thought. The dude is a pro. A certed Apple dealer. I'm sure he knew what the guy was talking about on the phone, he knows there's no such thing as iMac Pro. No need to embarrass your customer about it, bro. Anyway.. Cupertino iPhone repair supposedly fixes the front screen for 75 bucks, and I'm hearing now that they do front AND back for 120. Oops. Should've gone there. I stayed at ClickAway for the convenience and proximity, and it wasn't very busy so they said that they would have it done within an hour, as soon as their nearby tech got back if I wanted to get it done. Baldy assured me that even if the tech was late, he (as important as his time appeared to be to him), would take care of it himself. I had mentioned Cupertino's rate, and he assured me they were worth the 25 extra because they were certed Apple repair guys, and he compared Cupertino to guys on craigslist who would do it for 60 bucks. Whatever, I was stoked on my phone being fixed, and these guys seemed worth the premium - even was prepared to buy a 50 dollar otterbox case there to give them extra business, knowing I could buy it on Amazon for 29 dollars. These guys seemed to be worth supporting. 2 and half hours later I call them. "We should have it done within the hour." Sweet. You guys clearly haven't even started on my phone. Rockin. Guess I'm gonna sit around and wait with my friend who's number you have to call me on instead of running the errands i needed to with my day off. No biggie. An hour later, there is still no call. I finally drive there myself. I get there and they had JUST finished, and supposedly called my friend. I am visibly irritated, and they have already put the otterbox on my phone presumptuously, throwing away my old beat up case I'm assuming in the process (cause I didn't get it back). I nixed the case, and told them what they went for on Amazon. They offered no price match or compensation for their massively underestimated time for completion.. I work in retail and know you can't usually price match amazon, but given their poor service I thought they would offer me SOMETHING to make it right. I am somewhat calmed when Baldy cooly tells me he's throwing in a screen protector. Awesome. He comes back out with my phone, and sure enough there is a screen protector - poorly applied with at least 10 air bubbles underneath it. Lame. I pay, and take my phone out of there. I didn't whine and ask for a discount, though I should have. The squeaky wheel always gets the most oil, but working in retail, I believe they just should have had the good sense to make me a happier customer because they took almost 4x the amount of time they promised me when they were visibly NOT very busy, condescended me and their other customers (Baldy), and didn't give me anything to compensate - presumably because I'm 22, look younger, and they didn't think they needed to give a shit about a punk kid and what he thinks about their business. That said, this is only like my second or third yelp review I think, and it's worth writing it out long enough to say: Take your business elsewhere if you can. I hear these guys are good with computers, I'm sure that's true. If you got a big issue, they can help.. but MacWorld on Stevens Creek is fantastic for the same thing, and they are way cooler and nicer and timely. If you need a phone fixed, Cupertino iPhone Repair is supposedly better, friendlier, and cheaper as well. They managed to brick my iPhone Touch ID while changing a screen. They ended up making the problem worse than when I left it with them. Picked it up in the evening and the Min didn't know anything about the phone and called the tech instead. Rather than to be apologetic, the tech that worked on the phone was confrontational. And he was the assistant manager! Prima Donna attitude for calling him after hours. Dude: I didn't ask to call, I just wanted answers about my phone. If you can't be disturbed, then make it the store policy not to call you after hours. Duh. Don't take it out on the customer. The phone was nasty when I got it back. Sticky ass fingerprints all over. They told me the store manager was going to call me the next morning. Didn't happen. I had to call the store. These guys really don't care about their customers. read more

I brought in my laptops hard drive which was nearly fried. I had all my photos, music, and documents on it and my father (who usually fixes my computer issues) couldn't even find a way to get in and back it up. Once he decided we've hit rock bottom, we left my hard drive with ClickAway to see what they could do for us. They offered us a free diagnostic to see if they could even recover the data. The next day, we got a call saying that it was unreadable and they had to try a few things to see if they can recover it. The chances were slim to none. At this point, I was convinced that all my files were gone forever but I still had my fingers secretly crossed. The next day, we got a call saying that they were actually able to recover my data and that I should come in with a hard drive (since I had one) so they could transfer it back to me. I am very impressed by how professional, efficient, and hardworking they are. They literally tried everything they possibly could to save my information, even though the chances were less than slim and my hard drive was on the brink of death (it permanently died an hour after they were done!!). I really can't thank these guys enough for their services. I will recommend them to everyone I know and will be back in the future if I end up needing to again! read more

I would save my peace of mind and go to an apple store or another repair shop. The quality of the repair was lacking for the price. The service was slow, the communication about when your repair was finished was lacking. Overall, my impression was that it was a shady place that is just doing the bare minimum for its costumers. However, as soon as Mike offered to help (and carried my computer in from my trunk while I toted around my toddler) I was put to ease. Top ratings for quality and service; not so much for price... Earlier this year I had the cooling fans for two different laptops replaced. The cooling fan for a third one started making unhappy noises recently. I was in another state when the first two needed attention and back in California when the third one needed attention. In each case I purchased a fan online and the computer repair shop installed it, charging just for labor. I took the third one to ClickAway and they replaced the cooling fan for me. Their employees were helpful and professional and they completed the work on the same day I brought it in. So they get full marks for this. For the first time ever my computer got what appeared to me a massive virus that took over my operating system.. Had not clue how to fix, as I couldn't even run my anti virus. I have a 9year old Gateway!! Next day a friend said they had used ClickAway in Campbell and discovered there was one closer to me on Winefield. Call there general number and was transfered to the Almaden store. Spoke with Jeff, who turned out to be the Manager. He was very helpful on the phone and I went in that evening and dropped it off. Very friendly, said they would run an intial diagnostic and call within an hour to ensure the hard drive was okay, before trying to debug.. He called in less then the hour to tell me my Hard Drive was fine. Jeff recommended the $149 tune up, w/$10 discount to $139. Would clean up all the viruses and check everything else. It did take 3 days instead of 2. BUT, My computer is awesome, they updated all the software, installed new Anti Virus, gave me add'tl memory upgrade for free, added Moxilla and recommended a back up harddrive. Where has this place been all my life. I have three Dell's in my small business office. I'm reasonably capable with computer stuff but I was stumped when yesterday my employee reported the BSOD (blue screen of death) and subsequent failure on one of the machines. I did what I could then tried to contact my usual repair guy. He seemed to be MIA and I was desperate. I found ClickAway on Yelp, they were near by so I took the box over there. They asked only for my signature, no financial commitment at this point. In less than one hour I was called and told that two capacitors on the mother board had blown. This is a pretty old machine so repairing it for around 250.00 was not an automatic decision. I went back down there to see the patient and spoke with Chris who kindly pointed out where the trouble was and then gave me some more options including purchasing a newer PC that they had refurbished for 399.00. This seemed like the way to go except my old machine had a serial com port that I had to install in it to support a piece of equipment that i use regularly. No problem Chris said. We'll swap it in to the new machine. This turned out to involve reinstalling the operating system to from Windows 7 64 bit to Windows 7 32 bit because my old hardware would not work with 64 bit. I may never have figured that one out on my own. Bear in mind they did this all for the original quoted price of 399.00. By 5:30 the SAME day the machine was ready. I picked it up the following day and hooked it up. PROBLEM, no video display. Well i monkeyed around with it for a while and thought that might be a compatibility issue with my older monitor. I called Chris back just to get some advice (he had demonstrated the functionality of the machine before I paid for it so I knew it was on my end). He said, no problem, I'll dispatch a tech to come see what's going on. Less than two hours later, the tech showed up (I had stepped out so i missed him) and according to my employee, he had it working in five min. Apparently it was a bad connection at the cable. Maybe I had not plugged it in all the way I don't know. Any way, Chris and ClickAway hit a home run today. I am a business owner and I know solid Yelp reviews are Gold. I bought a new computer from this store in January 2016. It was upgraded to Windows 10 at that time and I have been very happy. The other day, I started getting messages on my screen that Windows 10 was expiring and I needed to change the product key. I called the store and was told to bring it in and they would take care of it. When i got there, I was told that I had to purchase a license from Microsoft because the windows 10 that was installed was a free beta upgrade and had expired. The manager would be there in an hour and would call me as to whether they would cover this cost, seeing i was not made aware at the time of purchase. I waited 2 1/2 hours with no return call. When i went back, I was told that he had been there, and that he said I would need to pay for the license and reinstall Windows 10 myself. The technician i spoke with at ClickAway stated multiple times that he was "just the technician" and showed that he could care less that the owner never bothered to call me. And after the owner told the tech that they would not resolve the issue, the tech never bothered to notify me either, even though he knew that i was unable to work at my job while the computer was sitting on the shelf at ClickAway. I called Microsoft Support and got a completely different story about the licensing. Their tech said there was no need to pay for a license, that it was already installed on the computer. She took over my computer, did the necessary entries and there was no charge. i had been to this store several times for other computer repairs before purchasing this computer and was very happy with their service up to that point. My understanding is that the store changed ownership/management shortly after i purchased my computer. I was told by a current employee, that the entire staff quit at that point and a whole new staff is there now. i will not go back to this store again. The lack of knowledge regarding this issue and the lack of concern for the customer is unacceptable. read more

I had a problem with my printer not staying on-line when not being used. Ashor came out and after working on my system, assured me all was well. The next day, the printer was off-line, inexplicably. Andy came out and said the problem was my printer, and that I needed a new one, and he just happened to have one in his truck. I declined his offer to install a new printer. Later, my 16-year old grandson looked at my printer, listened to my explanations of the problem, reset the network connection, and all is now well!
