Dropped my Pixel 6 and screen went black. Did a walk-in at ClickAway, they ran a free diagnosis within a couple hours to confirm the repairs, had fair pricing, and completed the work on time, maintaining good communication throughout. Having issue with the fingerprint scan, turns out that's a common issue with replacement screens (thanks /r for the help there) but Bozhidar has been great trying to find workarounds after Google stopped supporting the calibration software download. read more

We have used ClickAway for many years, and have been satisfied with their services. In this case we had a computer that failed, from which we wished to recover data if possible. Clickaway quoted us $200 to open the computer and check, plus another $300 to recover the data. We approved these expenditures. However, once the data had been recovered, the gentleman doing the work informed us that we would be charged another $80 for a drive to put the data on. I refused to pay this and instead provided a drive for the data (which we could have done in the first place if asked). Most of the data on the damaged computer was indeed recovered as requested, so the work was done. However, when I pointed out that this behavior is known as upselling and is classic unethical business practice, he insisted that he had informed us of the expense. I have no recollection or written record of such a notice, and my wife and daughter (who spoke to them first) have no memory of any mention of expense for a drive. I also checked that 1 Tbyte flash drives can be purchased from e.g. WalMart for less than $20, and would be even cheaper in bulk. Thus, I believe they were indulging in upselling, and would do so again. We will find another repair place. read more

They were able to solve my problems every time I bring a problem to them. I am a senior with little technical knowledge and I have old devices like an iPhone 6 and an old PC that still runs on Windows 7 that is no longer supported, but is good enough for reading emails and typing letters. I do not watch videos or stream anything, though I do still play solitaire. They are so kind and patient. I need a simple soldering service done. 10 minutes max job. I called before going in they said they offer soldering service. When I went in the man in charge said they would only do it for 200 bucks because it's not their main business and are busy with other orders so I have to pay the "premium" for them to take an interest to get it done. I said I'm in no hurry but am only willing to pay for reasonable fee for the time and labor required for the job. And I specified I only need the soldering done, would wavie the liability whether the chips work or not after the job. They said no with very a rude attitude. I understand a store don't want to do certain services. Especially small jobs like mine. But if you don't want to do it why not just tell the customers when they called you inquiring these services. And the worst thing is having a condensending attitude treating customers like idiots who know nothing about electronics. You know it's a small job. Just say no if you don't think it worth your time to do it. I offer 50$/hr for labor and they declined btw. Don't come up with stupid reasons trying to rip customers off. I can hardly imagine how they over charge on other services. read more

Note: Clickaway management phoned me, and told me this situation was due to staff scheduling problems and inexperienced management. I still intend to be their customer, and I'll modify my review if things improve in the future, whenever it is that I next need computer repair. ** In the past I've praised this store for its workers' intelligence, knowledge, and helpfulness. And all of that is still true, but lately its value has been severely compromised by its inability to meet its offered deadlines and do the work in the manner promised. I had a computer in which they'd promised me would be completed by late Saturday afternoon. It wasn't. Since they're closed on Sunday, I had to wait until squeezing time in on Monday after work to pick it up, and was out of computer access all that weekend, when I'd hoped to spend Sunday re-setting up my system. And why? Because they'd had walk-in customers late Saturday - as if that had never happened before - and that had thrown them off schedule. Look, a real emergency or disaster is one thing. But if you have work due, either make the walk-ins wait instead, or else don't make a promise that the normal course of business would make you break. Then the computer turned out not to have something they'd promised to install. Since it would be a nuisance to bring it back in, they offered to send someone out to complete the work. Such service! Yet they missed the appointment - some kind of double-booking, apparently. Came the second time, but half an hour late. What's under the store's control is both whether to keep their promises, and what sort of promises they think they can keep to make in the first place. ClickAway needs to rethink its service in this area. read more

Once again Click-Away Computer in Sunnyvale hit it out of the park. I had a problem with my my internet service and after contacting my internet provider and having to go through their on-line help and not being able to talk with a real person I was told that there were "no issues on their end". After contacting Click-Away in Sunnyvale, Jose was able to fix my issue in a relatively short period of time. He took the time to talk me through the process and made sure everything was working perfectly. I have always had a great outcome in their Sunnyvale store and have posted reviews about them several times. If I am posting time and again, it means that what they do there is consistent so take what the one-time reviewers say with a grain of salt. IT Technician Trang is a life saver! I came in on a Friday evening in need of help. My son had accidentally spilled water onto my laptop causing liquid damage to my laptop's hard drive. Since I have an older Mac laptop (Apple MacBook Air 13) Apple support suggested I go to a 3rd party for repair and luckily I found Trang. She's very knowledgeable of the work that she does as she shared with me she has been doing it for a little over 3 decades now! William greeted me with a warm smile, on a bad day of having to take in my computer for repair. i brought my alienware M17 in for repair when my computer decided not to recongize my 240v charger. Im pretty decent at fixing issues but when it comes to batteries & power supply I usually hand it off, especially when it comes to Laptops. Anyways, william was able to run the 100$ test and Im glad they did because we found that my battery was leaking & the charging port was fried. These M17s, from what i assume is a popular issue, need to be turned off and let die every couple days instead of keeping it plugged in continuously. speaking with william, i can tell that this is a very common issue he sees and if you are a gamer or use Alienwares; bring it to William. great service! read more

After a failed attempt at Geek Squad Mountain view, I "googled" places that could help me. I had just purchased a new HP deskjet 3750, portable scanner/printer combo but it was not functioning. I help support three Executives at a Company hence I was in panic mode. As soon as I walked in, I was acknowledged by Erik at the store that said he would be with me in just a minute. It feels good to be acknowledged right when you walk in. I don't think all businesses realize how that minor detail helps in making the customer feel comfortable and making the sale. Banny A at ClickAway in Sunnyvale is awesome. Microsoft tried to help me download Windows 11 on a USB drive as the regular download didn't work, ensuring me that all my files would be saved. The USB download didn't work and put me in a loop so I couldn't get into the computer at all. The 2nd Microsoft person I talked with told me I would lose my files and I should call a computer tech. The same day I called, Banny came to my house (it's an All-in-One computer) with a hard drive to save all of my files on and downloaded Windows 11. He explained as he went (and he works fast), and loaded everything I had previously onto the computer and set it up like I had it before. His expertise is indeed awesome. I had my computer have a lot of water spill on it and I knew it would be impossible to fix but it was worth a shot so I sent it here. As expected they told me that there was a flood that couldn't be fixed. They then offered to take out any memory I needed I didn't since I didn't need to. ClickAway provides great customer service. We have never used a computer repair service before but recently needed an on-site printer repair. We called other places that said that they did not service Dell printers and that we would not find anyone that could. I next called ClickAway and they were very responsive and scheduled me the next day. The technician, William Anthony, was great. He was a Dell trained technician and fixed our printer and offered us suggestions on how to keep it running. He called us to see if we got the follow-up information he had sent us. It is an older printer, but very reliable and has been a work-horse for us for almost 15 years. We are so glad we called ClickAway and we have our printer back. Every time I go to the store with a problem, I've received prompt attention and the employees had excellent troubleshooting skills. Being an engineer, I am always happy to see the kind of consistent, methodical troubleshooting that ClickAway provides. I had a problem with my Android phone, which was continuously restarting. No amount of uninstalling apps, powering the phone down, etc helped. It was impossible for me to get the phone still enough to a place where I could even figure out if the problem was hardware/software. Special thanks to Erik, who helped me out, and went above and beyond the call of duty to analyze my problem and find a solution. He determined the problem was with the hardware after systematically analyzing the issue, helped me backup my old files, and even offered to help me out with a loaner phone! I brought in my iPad because the screen was broken on one of the edges. For the rest, my iPad worked fine and I brought it in with full battery. They promised it would take a week for the screen to be repaired. I called and they said I could pick it up. When I got there, the salesperson could not find my iPad and asked me to call/come back on another day. It took two weeks to have my screen fixed. When I got it back, it had no charge. I thought that was weird since I brought it in with a full charge. At least, that would have been a nice curtesy to have it back at some kind of a charge in the battery. Came home and charged my iPad overnight. It went up to 3 %. I called the store who told me to bring the iPad back. Another week went by. The lady who had replaced the screen said that my iPad was 5 years old and that is why the battery was not charging (past 3%). Yet, when I brought it in the battery was working fine and fully charged, I told her. She then tried selling me a refurbished iPad for close to $ 400. I refused to spend another dime there. At least, the lady technician admitted her wrong doing and credited the cost of her labor: $ 70. But the $ 100 for the screen was wasted money. Anyways, please watch out for some of the 5 star reviews as they may be paid for. read more
