had the best experience at Cliff Dining Pub last night! we were worried initially because the parking lot was PACKED, but when we walked in there was no wait and we got to sit on their patio which has incredible views. They have a really great food and drink menu. We started with drinks: My husband ordered an old fashion and I had a margarita. both were SO good. we will always rave about a place that makes our favorite drinks well. we ordered the calamari for an appetizer and then we got the steak mac n cheese and pesto pasta with chicken. All were incredible. we ended with some espresso martinis, the tiramisu and the vanilla bean butter cake which was to die for! Our server Alli was incredible. Unfortunately we couldn't tip accordingly since we were in a large group (22% gratuity was automatically added which is higher than usual). My husband's burger was cold and his fries were under/over cooked. My salad was basically a ton of spinach with a small piece of chicken, onions I asked be removed that weren't, and fried cheese so hard I could barely cut it with a knife. Hi All, I visited the Cliff 2 weekends ago for dinner and had a decent experience. The problem is that when my friend got home he got very ill and puked everything up. He had not eaten all day and once the salmon was up, he was back to normal. These things happen with fish and so it goes. I wrote the Cliff directly through their website sharing this experience asking if they could please refund the cost of the salmon as it poisoned my friend, but no one replied... so here we are. Fish here can be questionable, which I guess in Utah could be expected ... but I don't really have this issue at home in another land locked city. The halibut was great, apps were tasty, drinks are fine, service was solid, view is wonderful, but the lack of response over my friend's food poisoning is disappointing to say the least. read more

I had gone next door to Cultivate because it sounded interesting but the two plastic Barbies with the fake eyelashes claimed it would be a 45 hour wait. Before hopping back in the car and leaving we thought to check at The Grill. Despite the bustle we were seated immediately in the bar area. Our server was quick to bring water and take our drink orders. They have a lengthy craft cocktail menu however the drinks start at $12 and go up from there. And anyone who drinks in Utah knows you're just throwing away your money. Go for the beer. Seven bucks for a pint is still on the pricey side but it's what it is. Everything from the Hungry Joe Fries (basically potato nachos) to our pastas was perfect. Tip: ask for fettuccine with the Cajun chicken pasta instead of the cavatappi. Delish! Cliff is going downhill. Service was average. The greeters although kind were catty like 17 year old school girls, waitress was kind however very slow to bring coffee and food was brought out cold. We had brunch and cold over easy eggs are not very appetizing. The potatoes had a good crisp although also served cold. No whipped butter for the French toast that was also served cold. Had the syrup been served warmed it would have helped but that was also cold. Sad to see a family favorite brunch spot becoming unfavorable. We will not be returning. read more

I loved how you could pick to sit in the dining section or the pub. Both had fun atmospheres and areas for larger parties. The food was really good!!! We couldn't stop eating! The front desk staff was a 3 star! Not interested, helpful or friendly. Our waitress, Alex, was fabulous, a 5 star for her! Helpful, friendly, even smiled!! I came here for the first time in 2021, and fell in love with the Blackberry Prosciutto Flatbread. Unfortunately, they change their menu frequently and that flatbread has not made an appearance since. We recently went back and ordered the Mediterranean Pasta and the Soul Chicken Sandwich. The Mediterranean Pasta was disappointing and did not have very much flavor. However, the Soul Chicken Sandwich was enjoyable and we really liked the potatoes on the side! The restaurant is located near the base of the mountain and has some beautiful views of the valley. They offer outdoor seating in the summer which offers phenomenal views. read more

UPDATE: I took owner Nikki up on her invitation to return and try the tiramisu tonight and took the opportunity to try a few new dishes. I came in half an hour before closing on a whim. As a result of the expanded dish tries and yet another night of accurate and detailed service by our server, I have raised my score to five stars. My earlier suggestions from my last visit still stand, but with a fuller set of variables and another night of service to draw from, I can confidently recommend this place without reservation (note: you will want a reservation when you go; it's a local favorite). * tiramisu -- lovely soaked ladyfingers and came in an elongated slice. The cream wasn't too sweet nor the dessert too soft. Lovely! I will have it again. * corn chowder -- lightly spicy and very flavorful. I enjoyed this more than the chicken tortilla soup due to less veggies, which is totally personal preference * Dirty Bird wings -- these were a total winner! Amazing service. I would say that's the best part. The parking was hard! We literally had to wait for another car to leave. It's a small parking lot that services a few businesses and restaurants. The sushi was unreal. My favorite roll was the deep fried volcano! It had such a yummy taste and perfect texture. I will be back and I plan to try some of the appetizers. The vibe here is upscale or casual if you want. A lot of people come more done up and dressed in dresses or skirts and high heels. I love that. They also have a bar area so bring ID. You rock!*** Environment My husband and I came to The Cliff Pub for brunch on a Saturday and it was smashing. The food and service were excellent and the ambiance was cool - an unlikely mix of contemporary steel-and-glass edginess and the heavy, dark mahogany wood of traditional smoking rooms. We were sat right away, in front of the kitchen which was so protected by the glass wall we never heard anything. Also, the area with the sports televisions is divided in such a way that you aren't disturbed by enthusiastic fans in the dining area. The patrons ranged from older folks to elementary-age children, even though it is a pretty adult atmosphere. Everyone seemed comfortable. The covered, outdoor dining area has a lovely view to enjoy while you eat. Also, I was happy to see that the restrooms were in the main lobby, instead of in the dining area, to prevent meandering between tables to find one. Food and Service We decided on the Chicken N' Dumplings and the Cliff tacos with grilled halibut. We also ordered the Cliff Kiss and the Ancho Mama's Marg cocktails. The Cliff Kiss had a strong orange taste but not a sunny, beachy one - it had depth and was more sultry - delicious and boldly low-key (is that even possible?). The Ancho Mama's Marg was amazing - it was smoky, warm, and spicy. It left you with notes of cinnamon after the initial heat. It was a perfect complement to the heavy, traditional mahogany wood paneling. The main courses arrived in a reasonable amount of time (so, they probably aren't using a microwave). The Chicken 'N Biscuits were fantastic. The cheddar chive biscuits were tasty but the best part was that nothing became a mess of combined ingredients after you dug in. To the last bite, each component was distinct. The chicken was thick; a real, unmolested tenderloin with flavorful batter. The gravy was thick and not bland at all. The only negative I can say about it was that the gravy was so good, we'd have preferred more of it. The Cliff Tacos were stuffed with super-fresh cabbage, pico, and other wonderful things. I ordered the grilled halibut tacos and it was cooked perfectly. The fish tasted perfectly fresh and were generous portions - no fish tank/ocean taste or smell. The corn tortillas were perfect as well. Finally, we ordered the Vanilla Bean Butter Cake and it changed our lives. Warm, rich, with an unexpected cake texture (it feels so much like a butter loaf but so much lighter)...it was amazing. The vanilla bean ice cream provided real flavor to the cake and didn't taste as if it was neglected in favor of the case. The raspberry sauce somehow added even more wonderfulness to this outstanding dessert. Tarty and sweet, but also mature. Go eat this. You will not regret it. We're were just passing through Draper on the way to the airport, and found this place on Yelp. There aren't many places open on Sunday in Utah. Also, it was Mother's Day, and we didn't have a reservation for dinner. The staff was still able to seat us quickly in a nice table by the window. Alex, our server, was prompt and attentive. We ordered the calamari appetizer to share, and it was pretty good: not too much breading, and not overcooked. However, the sauces were merely, meh. Hubby ordered the Cajun pasta with blackened chicken, and said it was good with just the right amount of heat. I had the pasta Primavera with salmon and it was delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly. Their sangria was also tasty. The restaurant is quite dark inside, because of the moody ambience, so it was good to be close to a window so we could read the menus. The Cliff is a great place for any occasion, whether you want to celebrate something, go on a date, or even just coming to grab brunch or a quick bite to eat. They have something for everyone. We came to the Cliff for a retirement dinner, and they took care of our large party in the center dining room with a great view. I ordered a really tasty seasonal guava drink, but I was worried that it would have too strong of an alcohol taste. Our waiter said that they could add more simple syrup into the drink to adjust to my liking, which I really appreciated. Now I ask for that in almost any alcoholic drink I order! I ended up with the prime rib and a chocolate lava cake. Both very delicious, however I think the cut of prime rib for the day was a little too tough. Me and my boss spent a majority of our time trying to cut through it. The experience wouldn't deter me from trying it again though. The chocolate lava cake was divine. We hadn't been to the Cliff in a very long time. No real reason because it has been great every time we have been there. I am happy we went back! The place was very busy but we were greeted promptly and seated right away. Appetizer: Mexican Croquettes Main Courses: Blackened Salmon Chorizo Chicken Desert: Creme Brûlée Janzeen was our server and even though she was very busy she took our order quickly and was attentive to keeping our drinks full and her desert recommendation was spot on. The only thing I would change is the choice of channels on the TV next to our table. Service - Matt is an amazing server, same with any other staff member we met today! Food- atrocious, low quality and poor execution. Who ever is running the kitchen needs to rethink EVERYTHING. Chicken and biscuit - no biscuit in SIGHT! Bland. Used toasted brioche buns instead of biscuits. Who does that? Carne asada burrito - only thing in the burrito was rice.... And cartilage... what I assume should be carne asada. The meat tasted off and dry. I believe we were served rotten meat..... I've never had meat taste like that. We love to visit both The Cliff Dining Pub in Draper and Xetava in Ivins. We just had another memorable meal at The Cliff. My husband had his usual prime rib and I had the salmon. We tried the Summer Salad (delicious!) and split a piece of the strawberry shortcake for dessert. We love to sit by the window near the sushi bar. The view is amazing and our waiter, Scott, always takes good care of us. He is friendly, prompt with his service, and checks back with us frequently to make sure we have what we need and are enjoying our meal. We love The Cliff because of the food, the view, and this kind of attention to make sure we have a good dining experience. We are frequent visitors to St.George and go to the Xetava restaurant in Ivins at least twice on every trip. We were pleasantly surprised to learn the owners of The Cliff are the new owners.
