Whether it is per a Physicians order or for New Hire employee screening...make an appointment. With the limited staff, they were super nice and efficient. Also, when you arrive there is no where to sit and they have people standing so with my bad hips I have to stand for over an hour waiting for service. Who makes a patient stand for OVER AND HOUR. I went to the front desk to be checked in for my appointment and I had to email a few things to be checked in. Friendly staff and good experience throughout the entire visit! I've gone here a couple of times for myself, today the employees were great with my three year old who needed her blood drawn. Daddy held her down while one employee helped and the other drew her blood, CPL employees have a great work ethic. Masks are mandated but in the field of medical professionals who handle patients and bio all day, it's understandable. They take appointments and walk ins. I arrived for a blood draw. There were four people waiting in the waiting room when I arrived. There were two ladies at the front desk looking at a computer together. It appeared as though one was in orientation. While I waited in the lobby for over an hour to be called, a lady came out of one of the lab rooms, asking what the delay was. One of the ladies at the front desk said they were trying to find a toxoplasma level that her doctor ordered. I thought to myself wow I would not want my medical information broadcast for everyone to hear. I continued to wait. Evidently this location on that particular day only had the two female employees working and they told me their computers were down. From what I observed, they were checking people in, running their insurance, ordering the labs, and drawing the labs. I was called back into a room, one which was unkempt and appeared disorganized. There was phlebotomy trash on the floor, and used tourniquets on either side of the phlebotomy chair. There were tubes of blood from another client left on the table next to the chair. I was close enough to read that person's name and birthdate. I have been an RN over 30 years and worked with collecting labs and processing them so I questioned how long that blood had been sitting there when it should have been placed in a centrifuge and refrigerated. They called another client back into the same room that I was sitting in waiting to be seen, then realized their mistake and placed them in another room. A client was at the desk talking to the two ladies about his insurance. I heard the employee say loudly "you only have Medicaid." When I finally was waited on in the phlebotomy room, there was no hand sanitizing or washing by the two employees. Even though there was a hand sanitizer bottle in the room, it was not used before or after touching me and my blood. They used tourniquets on me, not cool. Their gloves were discarded, then they went back to the desk to work or to the other phlebotomy room to tend to other clients. My suggestion is to thoroughly educate staff on correct infection control, safeguarding HIPPA, and proper handling of patient's blood tubes. If there were additional trained staff present, that may have been helpful for the staff and clients. read more

I went in early even though I had an appointment and I still had to wait about an hour. They finally called me but only to check for ID and insurance. So I had to wait a little more to go back. I would highly recommend scheduling an appointment in advance as the lines can get quite long even during once they open. The service here at this location is spectacular! I didn't get a chance to get the name of the receptionist that was on the computer and sorting paper work, but she was fast and got the line moving! I had an appointment to get my bloodwork done. When I showed up, the doors were locked but I could still see a room full of customers waiting and workers going about. It was 111 degrees outside and no one answered my knocks until well over 10 minutes, even with me calling the corporate customer service number who said they should be open. Someone finally opened the door and the rep flippantly told me he decided to lock the doors and close the clinic "early" bc they were full. Customer service is lacking and there's an extreme inconsideration of locking ppl with appointments out in triple digit heat in the middle of July. It's simply dangerous to lock ppl out in the extreme heat like that. read more

Always go to Quest, but my daughters pediatrician sent her to CPL & went to this one since it's a few mins from my house. The receptionist was rude & unfriendly , didn't even say Hi. It was my daughters first time giving blood & the phlebotomist ( who was also the receptionist ) did nothing to make my daughter feel comfortable . Worst experience. Ever. I strongly advise to not go to this CPL location. The woman that checked me in was extremely unprofessional. I listened to her talking negatively a previous patient with the other check-in person. The phlebotomist lacked compassion in every way possible. I sat down and asked, "Can you please use the smaller needle?" She responded that it wasn't necessary and the other needle is the same. So I shared with her, "I have been doing this for 10 years and every time the bigger needle is used there are issues." Her response was, "You've been doing WHAT for 10 years?" I shared with her that I've been doing bloodwork every 3 to 6 months for the past 10 years and that whenever the larger needle is used, there are issues. She said she needed to see for herself and put the band on my arm. She said, "If you want the smaller needle I guess I can get it but it doesn't make a difference." I said, "thank you" and she walked out of the room, but before fully leaving the room said "it doesn't make a difference either way". When she came back, she was extremely rough with me - roughly wiped my arm with the alcohol wipe, then roughly dried it with gauze. For a couple of hours after the blood being drawn it felt like someone had their hand wrapped around my arm with their thumb digging into my inner elbow. I live within 2 minutes of this location and I will gladly go out of the way to a different location to avoid the unprofessionalism and lack of compassion that this location has to offer. read more

WARNING. They are NOT contracted by Blue Shield. They are out of the network. They conveniently will not tell you. You're "supposed to ask". You will end up being billed $900 since Blue Shield won't pay. Besides, receptionists are super rude. Don't bother calling either. They won't answer the phone. Terrible place. Based on the reviews. I would be pretty hesitant to try here. Fortunately, my experiences here have been good. I have been here 3 times in the past 8mo. The main reason being that my doctor's office shares the same building. Making it a matter of convenience. Each time it was fairly quick, simple & no hassle. It should be noted for my visits, it was not particularly busy. If I recall correctly, 2 of the 3 visits, I was the only person there. The third visit, there was 1 other person waiting. If it hadn't been for the one phlebotomist that drew my blood and was pleasant, responded to my questions, and did what I asked, this CPL would have received a single star instead of two. I tried to call for over 2-hours before going here. For two hours, no one answered the phone, not once. I was checking to make sure they were open because I didn't want to waste a twenty-minute drive only to find out they were closed. I expected that when I arrived, it would be "packed" since they were so busy answering the phones. To my surprise, there wasn't a single person there, except for the three people behind the desk. When I went to the front, I asked why they hadn't answered the phone? Two people didn't say a word and looked at me like I was speaking a foreign language. The one good phlebotomist responded to my question when we went into the "draw" room by saying its some sort of corporate "thing." Since he drew my blood with care and precaution, as I asked, I give this CPL two stars. Had it not been for him, it's a one-star start to finish. For all I know, maybe the others didn't speak English since they were Chinese, but how can you hire non-English speaking employees for this type of position? read more

I have never been to a CPL before today and I have NO idea how they got such bad reviews. I was in and out in less than five minutes (I usually wait 1-2 hours at labcorp, even with an appointment sometimes), the front desk staff were so nice and informative, and the lab tech was so friendly and I legitimately didn't even feel the needle. I will absolutely be coming back to this location and am so happy to have found a hidden gem! read more

Absolutely rotten customer service. They treat their clients like they are nothing but a nuisance! No greeting from the two front desk employees in fact they tell you to sit down and don't want to answer simple questions such as do you take my insurance and is there any paperwork I need to fill out. It has 1 Star for a reason! If I could give it less I would. I sat here for an HOUR the other day. The waiting room filled up during that hour and no one was called back for a blood draw. I arrived at 11:48 am, which I figured was enough time to be drawn before their 12:00 lunch because only one other person was waiting. Rather than get off their lazy behinds and do their job, the phlebotomists just let the people keep coming in and would draw any blood until their lunch break was almost over. They could've told us at check in that they weren't sticking anyone because they needed a lunch break, that way we could've left and went back later. To make the experience worse I get a phlebotomist (younger African-American girl) who clearly is a newb. She wipes with alcohol as quickly as she can then fans it to dry, which is ALWAYS a no-no in phlebotomy! She sticks, then rams the needle up the vein twice because she messed up and "doesn't want to have to stick again". Stay away from this place!! SO PAINFUL!!! The workers have nasty attitudes and seem to just hate life. Go to the CPL on Rainbow for a much better experience! read more

This is one of the worst establishments I've ever been to. Extremely slow, receptionists discuss private medical information much too loudly, and are extremely rude. The phones been ringing since I've gotten here and it has yet to be picked up. There are people with appointments that the receptionists confused with others by face and started reading off their information aloud. read more
