A gathering of dear friends for dinner on a recent Sunday of a long weekend, our group had two wheelchair users and two young children. Staff were very helpful and attentive. Menu had nice variety, and half of us adults did the prix fixe (available Sun-Wed). I started with the Autumn Harvest Salad, which was fine. Main course of Salmon was nicely prepared and tasty. Apple Crisp to end the meal was comforting. I also got to try the Pappardelle which was quite satisfying. Drinks were made well. Overall we were all pleased with the meal and definitely with the service we received. It's a cool space, too -- I had never been to Clink or The Liberty Hotel, but going forward I will consider it for meeting up with friends. Right around the corner from Mass General Hospital, this was a nice quiet place to have a drink. A bit dark inside but it has quite a history as a prison so it was kinda cool to be there. I would like to come back when the Christmas trees are hanging! Service was very good- efficient and pleasant. There were a total 3 of us who were really enjoyed our dinner at Clink. Suggested by one of my fellow's, she had heard about Dine Out Boston 2025 that over 160 establishments participating city wide. Clink is located in a historic hotel located in the West End district of Boston in the Beacon Hill neighborhood. It was an easy 10 minute ride to and from our hotel. For a Monday evening, it wasn't that busy for dinner time and it was easy to get a reservation for 3 at 6pm. We all ordered their Prex Fixe Menu for $55 that includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert. I ordered the New England Seafood Chowder, we all chose Hanger Steak, while dessert was Tiramisu. My fellow colleague had a glass of Chardonnay while I had Merlot. Everything was delicious, food came out at a nice pace, friendly customer service, really makes you feel like you're in an old jailhouse. Overall, I'm satisfied. Would like to make the trek for another visit if or when I'm back in town. I recommend you try out Clink for great North Atlantic Seafood and maybe sample a drink in the lobby bar, it's located in the hotel lobby rotunda, very one of a kind atmosphere. read more

Four of us came here for during Thanksgiving weekend at which point of the lobby is decorated for Christmas. Ambience of the bar is the lobby. Some of the spaces are old jail cells left therefore the name. The staff is not particularly friendly they are very determined in their craft. The board was extremely lively when we got there but the drinks and decent and the one and beer selection are also decent. We ordered a pizza which was much better than expected. Overall satisfied but could be better. For really good cocktails need to go elsewhere. read more

Stayed a couple nights at the Liberty Hotel. This review is for the restaurant only. I enjoyed the hotel, everyone was kind, service was top notch, and you felt at a high end hotel. Sadly, the restaurant was the exact opposite. I clocked total dine time at nearly 2 hours. The server checked on us possibly twice. The saving grace would have been the food, but it was fairly uneventful. The turkey was okay, but the gravy was tasteless and the stuffing had a weird sweet taste to it. The mashed potatoes were not homemade. The cost was about $150 once you add a side salad for two. There is a ton of good food in Boston, I would suggest using your time and money elsewhere. read more

First time here back here in a decade. It is great that the unique dining experience of eating in a former jail is once again coupled with an updated menu that feature much more traditional than the last time I was here. Steak and chicken entrees were perfect and generously portioned. We really ended watching the John Taffer-esque manager screaming at any employee he could in the open kitchen. We were questioning whether it was perhaps part of the."prison" experience or if he was unaware of the brick walls made every word audible. It really was super entertaining from our perspective and made for a memorable dining experience, so keep an eye (and ear) out for him. Really look forward to returning. read more

Staying at this hotel, I decided to try their complimentary breakfast this morning -- and it was a pleasant surprise! I ordered the pancakes, and they were excellent -- crispy on the edges, soft and fluffy inside. The sausage was especially memorable, juicy and packed with flavor. The presentation was also nice, with the "CLINK" logo dusted on top of the pancakes -- a fun touch. Overall, I would say this was a 5-star breakfast experience. I'm excited that I still have another morning here and hope to try more items on their breakfast menu during this trip. One more highlight is that the restaurant and hotel are located in a former jail, and they've preserved some of the old prison features and décor -- definitely worth checking out while you dine. read more

We came here for dinner on a Saturday night and the food did not disappoint. However, there was room for improvement in other areas. On a Saturday night, we would have expected the restaurant to be busy and full of life. However, the restaurant was a bit dead, with mostly empty tables and not much of an ambience. Additionally, they had an issue with their smoke fan system the night we were there. The smoke kept coming in waves and our eyes were watering. Very strange. We asked out waiter what was going on and he was not helpful and had a bit of an attitude about it. Also strange... Luckily, the food was really great - like exceeded my expectations. I would highly recommend the salmon entrée. The tuna appetizer was amazing as well. Overall, the service and ambiance wasn't great so I would probably recommend going somewhere else, but in a pinch, this does have great food, and it's next to the liberty bar with the upside down Christmas trees so it is easy to grab a drink there after dinner. read more

We came here for breakfast everyday since we got that as the option for the Marriott welcome gift for platinum +. The breakfast included option for the continental breakfast or you can choose a different option up to $28/pp credit. I like that you didn't have to sign for anything if you didn't exceed the amount. All the breakfast items I tried were very good. My favorite was the smoked salmon that came with a perfectly toasted bagel, capers, arugula, and half a lemon. We also came here for dinner one night and it was pretty good as well. I think for dinner I would recommend Scampo downstairs instead because the seating there is much nicer and more comfortable. They have more options for dinner as well. Clink has the whole jail house setting and most of the seats, you are sitting on a wooden chair. The service at Clink was very good, though. read more

Stopped by here twice while we were staying in the Liberty Hotel for dinner and breakfast. I love the theme through the restaurant and entire hotel. The fact they incorporated the jail theme was amazing. Starting with breakfast the food was good. Nothing was stand out, but everything was rather tasty. I did appreciate that the requests for items on the side were made. I know sometimes that can be annoying. Only downside was with other patrons. There was a group next to us that were so loud with a lot of children playing and throwing toys. It definitely tainted the experience however I know that doesn't have anything to do with the restaurant. Now we dinner it was amazing. The food did take a while to come out, but I think it was worth the wait. The starter bread hit the spot! Absolutely delicious along with the oysters. The meals are rather large, I think you could almost share. We had a table of four and if we could go back I would share three meals because we had a lot left over. Our waiter I believe his name was Ben was great. On top of our food orders and constantly refilling out drink. I would recommend if you are in the area or staying at the hotel. I've gone here twice now and have had great experiences each time! I went the Saturday after Halloween and the bar was dead. I was able to very easily get a barstool and enjoy two cocktails. I got a cool dia de los muertos themed drink with a syringe. The second time I went was a Saturday in December. It was PACKED. The Christmas trees were up and the place looked extra cute. There was a long wait to order a drink at the bar and the whole bar was standing room only. We took our drinks up to the third floor since there were some empty seats there. The ambiance at this place was fun, but the lobby is the better attraction. I was at the hotel for work meetings with someone who was staying at the hotel, which justified the $40 parking and very challenging MGH area traffic. If this isn't your situation, I'd honestly recommend visiting a historic restaurant in Boston instead for the expense. Tip: if you remember to ask them to validate your parking, the cost dropped to $30 or $35. Unfortunately, two out of the three times that I ate there I forgot to validate. I recommend the breakfast potatoes and mimosa for brunch-haven't had one in 2 years and it was surprisingly tasty. I'd recommend skipping the dry eggs though and going for the burger instead. My fellow diner didn't love his omelette either. Service was friendly and attentive. I was really happy to see a dairy free dessert item on the menu--the apple cider sorbet. Unfortunately, it wasn't amazing and I wouldn't order it again. Still, the quality of food was much better than the typical hotel restaurant meal, if you are already at the hotel. read more

This is located on the second floor of the Liberty hotel in Boston. We actually didn't sit IN the bar we sat in the hotel lobby at a table as there was a DJ playing on Friday night. While we weren't there for the food we did order a few things. The beat salad, oysters and chicken tacos. The oysters were good EXCEPT one which was bad and they came out with a new one... they didn't really apologize or comp anything but you could smell that it was bad. If we didn't know oysters well it could have been a bad case of food poising. The chicken tacos had lots of flavor, a bit of heat and a good portion. I expect the prices here to be high since it's a hotel restaurant but I didn't expect the pizza to be that disappointing. South shore bar style pepperoni pizza - pizza was dense and super doughy. One of the most disappointing pizzas ever especially for $28. Bolognese - so good. The sauce was flavorful and the burrata added a nice creaminess to it. Who doesn't wanna visit a restaurant located in a jail turned hotel? This place is located in the 2nd floor of liberty hotel . When we went there, we were able to experience the live band and rub shoulders with the upper echelons in suits. The service here was fast and pleasant, our server had such a great energy I thought he had just found Jesus. The bread was fresh out of the oven, it was so soft and chewy inside and crispy outside. The appetizer we got was tuna tartare $29 with prawn chips. It was so fresh, seasoned in the sour citrusy ponzu sauce, sitting on a bed of avocado. The blood orange glazed duck $44 had a good amount of duck leg, the orange and foie gras sauce gave it an umami flavor. The skin could be crispier though. The sauce was not seasoned well, some parts were more salty than others. The bolognese $38 was wayyy too salty, omg, even the burrata could not save how botched this dish was. read more

I was staying at the Liberty Hotel while in the area for work (I always stay at Marriott Hotels). I usually eat at the host hotel due to convenience. Sadly, I got really sick, food poisoning. I ordered the Ceasar Salad and Burger. Burger was supposed to be cooked medium. It looked like it was so I don't know if it was the salad or burger. But given how many times lettuce has gotten people sick (eColi), I'm not sure. I went back the next day after I stopped getting sick and told them what happened, they blamed me and told me it must've been something else. That it couldn't have been them. But I hadn't eaten anything that morning, or that evening, so it wasn't my fault. I wish they would've taken me more seriously, but nope. Disappointing. Definitely won't recommend or eat here again. Especially given how badly they treated me after getting sick. Foodies beware. read more

What could have been a decent Christmas brunch was marred by a level of service I would have expected at an IHOP, not a place that charges $24 for an omelette. The host was pleasant but from there on it went downhill. When the waiter brought the orange juice one of us had ordered, he realized he forgot to bring a cup for it so he left the jug of OJ, of which he was refilling others guests in the dining room with, on our table for a minute while he went to retrieve a glass. This thoughtless act could have endangered anyone else who was served from the pitcher. While we were patiently waiting for our food, the waiter said "I'm sorry the food is taking so long, the kitchen is backed up", which he also told the table next to us even before they placed their order. We had not been waiting long at all and seeing the look of disappontment on their faces was sad-great way to start a Christmas meal. When the food arrived, the burger which the waiter had asked when ordered "Do you want that cooked medium?" was mid well to well done. Less then 2 minutes after our meals arrived the waiter rudely dropped the check off, never asking how anything was and just walked away. He did the same thing. to the table next to us and the women looked to me said "We just started eating, why are we getting the check already? Did he do this to you too?" and I nodded yes. Never did he ask if we wanted a drink, a dessert or inquire how our meal was. I understand it's not ideal to work on Christmas morning-I've been in the restaurant to business for 20 + years and have worked more than my share of holidays-but to blame the kitchen and rush guests because you want to go home is not the level of service expected for the price they charge. Burger was mildly overcooked, and the rest of the meal was no better than others that I've paid half of the price for. read more

The parfait and fruit bowl were great and had good quality fruit, not the sad stuff you see at other hotel breakfasts. The croissant tasted much better than it looked and was light and not too buttery. The chicken sausage and avocado sandwich had a nice kick with 2 layers of jalapenos. One minor complaint is that their over medium eggs were still way runny. Fresh ingredients, good quality, and super convenient when you're staying at the Liberty like we did. Weekend brunch is popular, so budget some time as you'll likely have to wait a bit. Not a big deal, as you can lounge on the plush lobby chairs and soak up the history of the place. read more

I enjoy going past hotel doors to explore different eateries whether they're within walking distance or a short drive away. But one morning during our 4-day stay at The Liberty hotel in Boston, hubs suggested we stay put and have breakfast especially since we were tired from all the walking we did the day prior. Clink is located within the prison side of The Liberty hotel- so you get all the original natural brick walls. There was a short line by the time we came down from our room at 10ish am (and no- we didn't go down in our pajamas), but didn't wait more than 5 minutes to sit. Our server was pleasant- but was also fast and awkward- maybe because breakfast is served from 7am-11. Short menu filled with wholesome plates. My husband enjoyed his granola bowl with fresh berries- but the banana tasted green and was unripe. Avocado+Tomato Eggs Benedict (without the hollandaise as I wanted it) was good and the eggs were almost perfectly poached- except, the 'English muffin' was super thick and doughy. While we didn't leave the hotel, the convenience factor of not getting in our car and search outside for breakfast was all there. Clink is an upscale bar and restaurant located on the second floor of "The Liberty Hotel". The hotel is a former jail and they incorporate many of those former elements into the design and architecture. We decided to stop by Clink's Liberty Bar for some drinks and charcuterie. We chose to be seated out in the main "lounge" area, near the front desk. Our server was incredibly kind but it was clear, he was the only man running around getting people taken care of. The service could be heavily improved. Our server isn't at fault for a lack of proper staffing by management. We decided to order a few specialty cocktails. Unfortunately, we were told a 4-Diamond hotel was out of all those ingredients to make said drinks. I was totally astonished and expect more for the price. If you have craft cocktails on the menu, have what is needed to concoct the drinks! We settled on the Red Sangria over one of the specialty cocktails. Their "Liberty Bar" menu is huge and there is something for every taste. They have a vast selection of appetizers, seafood, local artisan cheese pizzas, sandwiches, tacos, dumplings, and dessert. We ordered the "Chef's Tasting Board". The board was filled with Italian cured meats, sausages, crackers, crisps, and multiple artisan cheeses. There wasn't an item on the board that we did not enjoy. It was phenomenal and a solid portion for the money. Plenty for two to share! Lastly, we decided to order the Sautéed PEI Mussels. The Mussels are sautéed in a tomato-saffron broth with Portuguese-Chorizo, Herb Butter, Fennel, and Wine. It is served with Toast/Crostini. The mussels were very clean and VERY large. They were some of the best I've had in the area! The portion was size-able, plenty for two to share. Service could certainly be improved. Our server was phenomenal, despite doing everyone's job. He was literally the only server available on the floor. That naturally led to lengthy wait times. I would strongly advise booking reservations, as the main restaurant and bar is typically packed. They offer multiple menus as well for Breakfast, Brunch, Lunch, Dinner, Dessert, & The Liberty Bar Menu. Atmosphere is upscale and classy. I'd leave the kids at home, it isn't really a venue or destination cut out for children. I'd highly recommend The Liberty Bar/Clink. However, there needs to be a major overhaul in terms of service. Furthermore, the person responsible for procurement should never let a bar run out of ingredients needed to make many of their drinks. read more

Came here for Sunday brunch. The atmosphere is obviously the selling point of this restaurant (plus the convenience if you're staying at the hotel). The food was fine - not bad, but nothing to write home about. My main complaint was service. It took 20 minutes after being seated for a waiter to come take our order. Two tables who were seated after me were helped immediately, but my table sat twiddling our thumbs for 20 minutes. Our drinks were never refilled and the bill was unceremoniously tossed on the table about 2 minutes after the food was brought out. I had the omelet and asked for avocado with it (for an extra charge). No avocado to be seen, but you can bet that extra charge was still on the bill. I decided it wasn't worth getting corrected because the waiter was so inattentive that it would have taken more time than I had to spare. The waiters for tables around us seemed good, so I won't write the whole restaurant off just for this experience... but it was a bummer. read more

My first time in Boston and finding restaurants that would give us a unique feel of Boston, this didn't disappoint! By far, one of the best dining experiences I had for a long time. The food was amazing, especially the strawberry individual cheese plate, our pasta bolognese was delicious and our cocktails were perfect! The place wasn't busy, since it was a Thursday and early. The only suggestion I highly recommend is to play background music. It was so quiet and most of the guests were couples, it would have made the place even better. I would come back and hopefully be able to go into the Alibi Bar, which was closed for a private event. read more
