Poor customer service. With no line, and no crowd, we were told we could not be served ice cream at 10:15 am because it would require them to move some of their baked goods. We went 1 block down to The Crown and were treated like paying customers should be treated. As my kids ate their treat, I watched a steady stream of customers come into The Crown. I came here for breakfast and got an egg + swiss cheese + tomato + spinach wrap for $6.75. Wrapped in a whole wheat tortilla, it fueled my morning hike. Stopped off here before a hike up into the Mohawk Lakes and got the Santa Fe, after our wonderful friend and tour guide told us to grab a breakfast sandwich from here. The bagels were hyped up, and being a snobby New Yorker, I gotta say, the bagels were pretty damn good. The Santa Fe came with egg, tomato, cheese, and green chile sauce. I've never had a brakfast sandwich with that kind of spread on it, so I was content. The staff there seemed to be a bit overwhelmed as there were two staffmembers when there was a sudden rush that came in right after our group. Our group was discussing if we wanted to grab sandwiches for lunch during our hike, but before we could even finish the thought, one of the staff behind the counter said they were focusing on just breakfast sandwiches, in a bit of an aggressive manner. My friend then asked if she could just get a chicken salad sandwich, as this is pre-made and wouldn't require much effort. The staffmember then let out a loud sigh and said he could do it and reiterated the focus on breakfast sandwiches. He then took 8-10 other people's orders, before finally scooping a single scoop of chicken salad onto the bagel, which I'm pretty sure the norm would be two scoops. My friend then asked if she could have another scoop of chicken salad, to which the guy behind the counter sharply said, "No." Bagels were high quality, everything was freshly made, but the attitude and customer service were definitely lacking and passive aggressive. My husband and I were in Breckenridge for less than 48 hours and visited this coffee shop three times. It's very casual and a bit disorganized (in a good way) and the baristas definitely take their time preparing beverages, so don't plan on going if you're in a mad rush. Which ... you shouldn't be if you're in such a peaceful, beautiful part of the country! :-) The upstairs is a traditional coffee bar with pastries. I tried the Mexican hot chocolate one chilly afternoon and also got my standard soy latte, which needed no additional sweetener or sprucing up. The downstairs -- open only until mid-afternoon, I believe -- has wraps and sandwiches cooked to order, as well as quiche. We got wraps for breakfast one morning and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and flavor. Just a fun, quaint little discovery along the town's main drag. As others have mentioned, you need to get coffee on the top floor and hot dishes a few stairs below; if you want bottled water, soda, etc, that is in a cooler on either floor. read more

Unfortunately Clint's doesn't live up to the hype for me. The set-up is strange: upstairs is the coffee bar with pastries and downstairs is the deli and bakery. If you want coffee and breakfast, you need to order your coffee upstairs and pay, then go downstairs to order your breakfast and pay. The set-up literally requires you to do everything in two transactions. According to my husband, the coffee is incredibly high quality and fairly priced, but I cannot speak to that because I don't drink coffee. Clint's specializes in bagel sandwiches. The bagels, overall, are tasty, but don't scream chewy bagel to me, and I have definitely had better bagel experiences. There are many different breakfast bagel combinations, but the eggs Clint's uses on their bagel sandwiches aren't seasoned. Had I realized this, I would have salted and peppered the eggs before leaving with my to-go order. Overall the ingredients are high quality, but the lack of seasoning is disappointing. The other thing I would like to mention is that if you order a simple bagel and cream cheese, the bagel will be served to you untoasted and requires you to put on your own cream cheese. I don't mind applying my own cream cheese, but the bagel should automatically be toasted unless I specifically ask for it untoasted. The prices here for coffee and food are very fair and affordable, but overall Clint's is very meh to me. read more

Stopped by here today in search of ice cream! (I may have an ice cream addiction!) this is a very cute little shop on Main Street, great location and very easy to find! We were greeted as soon as we walked in and the service was very friendly and helpful! They had a great selection of ice cream flavors at great prices! You can also sample the flavors :) I had the s'mores flavor and it was very tasty! Looking at their menu, they have a great selection of pastries and coffee drinks! The cupcakes looked really good and hot chocolate flavors sounded delicious! I also noticed they had an Acai Bowl, I'm dying to try it! I'll definitely be coming back for it! I'm torn with how to rate Clint's. There's a bakery/cafe upstairs and a sandwich place downstairs. The short review...I'd give the cafe/bakery a 5* and the sandwich place a 2*. Quite different, I know and here's why... I love the bakery/cafe upstairs. They're friendly and offer delicious homemade baked goods and a great selection of coffee, smoothies, and ice cream. Their prices are really reasonable, seating is minimal but it's a cute setup. I've had the almond joy mocha and roasted toasted almond latte, both yummy. It's a great local place that we enjoy. Okay, so for the downstairs. The guys that work the sandwich place have never been friendly, I can deal with that, but today they were just plain rude. I placed my order (kind of feel like I'm at the Soup Nazi...if you're a Seinfeld fan you know what I'm talking about, lol), so I placed my order and paid with a credit card. The cashier starred at me while I pressed 'no tip'. I think that's when it happened, that's when his rudeness went past his body language and out his mouth! He told me to wait for my name to be called, but my coffee was sitting upstairs (I ordered that first) so I was going to go up and grab it. But then he ordered me, in a very demanding, rude way, to stay downstairs until my name was called. I felt like I was being reprimanded...the tension was not what I expected when ordering a breakfast sandwich. They called my name, I said thank you and they glared at me the whole time I walked upstairs. I know this because my husband saw them and asked them if there was a problem? He wasn't aware of the situation, but could tell by their glare that something was up. Was this treatment brought on because I didn't leave a tip?! Aren't tips optional? Aren't tips usually given for great service? This is a counter-service sandwich place, I didn't know tips were required, required to be treated with respect. How's their food? Great! One of the best, most reasonable, delicious breakfast & sandwich places in Breck. Too bad it's ruined by unpredictably rude customer service. So that's why I'm torn. Food was amazing but the man who took our order was EXTREMELY rude and ruined the experience for us. It was our first time at the eatery so we were not familiar with the menu. We took maybe 5 minutes to look at the menu and he was very impatient with us and seemed agitated that we took a second to make our decision. They have a lot of baked goods that are displayed and several options to choose from - including breads and cupcakes. I was actually going in to see if the vegan ice cream was good and it didn't have much flavor so I didn't get any. I was hoping they'd have more of a selection since they offered so many different vegan baked goods. The coffee was good and so was the cookie so overall, it was a win. We went back another day and the selection was smaller. So, I'm not sure if they always have vegan options or it's on a day to day change out. I ordered a half-dozen bagels for $15 expecting to receive fresh, quality bagels for that hefty price commitment, especially because I had ordered the bagels at 8 in the morning. However, while half of the bagels were great, the other three were stale and hard to bite into! The people with whom I shared the bagels also voiced similar complaints. Just had a really rude experience here... It snowed 11 inches last night so we got up early to grab breakfast and hit first chair. Like an idiot, I forgot to bring snow boots, so walking to town, I chose my ski boots over my boat shoes. We walked into Clint's and saw the coffee shop upstairs and noticed that they had bagels and sandwiches downstairs. At the top of the stairs there was a sign saying, "For your own safety, no ski boots please." I decided, I've been wearing ski boots for a long time, I'll be fine. Walked downstairs, no problem. Then we're trying to decide what to order and a dude walks out of the back and says, "Hey man, no ski boots." I said alright and started towards the stairs. My gf asked what I wanted to order, so I said, "I dunno, but I have to leave." Then the dude said, "Learn to fucking read English man..." So we left and won't be back. read more

This was a great stop for a snack break after strolling up and down Main St (and also a break from the cold). The employees were super friendly and welcoming. I loved the interior- made me feel like I was inside a cozy cabin with sunlight shining in. As soon as you walk in, you are drawn to the winter inspired mural on the wall but then your attention is immediately drawn to all the yummy baked goods in and on the counter and the ice cream! Make sure that when you are ready to order that you walk to the other side of the counter or you'll be standing there wondering why no one is helping you. LOL I had a self serve coffee and a Blondie (chocolate chips and brownies) and my husband had a pumpkin brownie. The serving size for their baked goods are massive ....probably because they figure that most tourists will burn off the calories by skiing. LOL There is plenty of seating at the counter you order at or the bar that wraps around front and side of space. We hung out for a little bit to rest our feet, catch up on texts and charge our cell phones. Very good experience. Side note- they have a separate café with lunch type items down the stairs towards the back. Also, after the fact, I found out they sell Nitro Cold Brew! read more
