It was a cold and very lightly drizzly night when I came here with friends, but the line was out the door. It kept moving, though, so the wait was actually not bad at all. There were so many flavors to choose from. I wanted a coffee ice cream, but sadly, they were out, so I settled for a chocolate salted caramel. I didn't expect how much I would be getting - a single scoop on a double was a LOT of ice cream. It was delicious, though. It was also pretty easy to find a place for the four of us to sit down and enjoy our ice cream, so that was nice. I'd love to come back the next time we're visiting to try other flavors. read more

My favorite and most underrated ice cream shop in Portland. I mean underrated here more in that less people in town seem to know about it - those of us that have been know it's legit! It's a lesser known gem for all of us living in deep southeast. All the flavors are solid and I always have hard time choosing which one I want. They have quite a few gluten free and vegan options as well Line can get long, but they are always well staffed and I think the line moves pretty fast. Never had a problem with parking, and it's a great central location along Woodstocks main drive which makes it a great "add-on" stop when I am doing any errand in the neighborhood. read more

After sweating for 10 minutes and only 1 more person "allowed" inside, we drove 10 min south to Luna's Ice Cream in Milwaukie. Easy parking, waited for less than 5 min to be served! Cloud City really needs a more efficient way to serve customers and allow a longer line inside the store on hot summer days! read more

In January, I wrote a review discussing the racism I experienced at this establishment. I was contacted by the owner via email after my review. The owner asked how I would like things resolved. I went ahead and informed him of what I recommended such as: 1. Writing said employee up. 2. Learning how to create an inclusive space with the example of Rose City Coffee Co. as a starting point, as I have always felt safe there. 3. Contacting me back for follow-up, so that I know some form of accountability was done. I informed him that it is up to him to decide what to do, but sadly, he never bothered to follow up with me, and informed me of whether or not steps had been taken to address the racism at his establishment. I am extremely disappointed that I never received an email back. If he would have followed up, I would have considered returning to his establishment, but I am afraid I cannot say this. There was a major rupture as a result of the lack of accountability without the repair via accountability that is necessary. I believe, as a matter of respect, I deserved a follow up. It's a small space but I love the custom flavors that they have. You can tell how much love they put into their ice cream based on the ingredients. The staff is always bubbly and friendly and I appreciate their patience while I try every new flavor! I will say that they can go around and clean up the tables more often. This is a really good ice cream spot. Definitely above average. If you like mix ins this is the place for you. The cookie dough flavor is almost 50% dough to ice cream ratio. I got the circus friends which was really good. I feel like there were almost too many cookies mixed in but that's just my preference. I tried a couple flavors and they were all good, but I ordered a regular size scoop of the Circus friends, which is sweet cream ice cream with mother's frosted animal cookies. Friday 9/22/23 Found the best ice cream spot in Portland while doing Yelp searches for ice cream. There was a decent sized line to get ice cream so I know off that alone that this place had potential. The customer service was great and friendly. I was allowed to sample the flavors I wanted and the worker who took my order was very nice and cool to talk to (top tier customer service). After sampling a few flavors I ended up getting my ole reliable cookies n cream in a double cup for $7.75 and it was really good. It was creamy and had a great balance between vanilla ice cream and Oreo cookies. Would definitely recommend this spot and return whenever I'm back in Portland. read more

Driving on Woodstock, I almost always see a line coming out of Cloud City in the evening--especially in the summer. So, I finally decided to give it a try and I can see the hype! The inside of the shop is fairly small for the amount of business it gets, so after getting your ice cream (unless it's not busy), you'll often eat it outside. The shop has a good variety of flavors as well as some really good vegan options as well! Service is always really friendly. When I went, I got a scoop of earl grey blueberry and a scoop of coffee to share with my boyfriend and the portion was HUGE. The ice cream itself is really really good. It's rich, creamy, and the ingredients used in each ice cream flavor is such good quality it's really brought out through the richness of the milk and cream. I love this gem of an ice cream shop! This place is underrated since it's a local favorite. It's certainly one of my favorite ice cream shops in Portland. I went because I heard there are several non-dairy flavors here. The setup is nice too, you can easily see all the flavors in their respective tubs. What I underestimated is the amount of non dairy flavors they have. I checked on their website and the menu at the door and saw several non dairy flavors. When I actually went inside the shop, there were about 8-10 flavors, much more than the menu stated! I got a little too excited by the many choices, so I went with a single scoop of Marionberry Lime. The scoop was a sizeable amount so I regret getting the single and not a split single. The marionberry was bright and refreshing, especially with the lime in it. I and my companion stopped in here after a horrifying experience at Dairy Queen, and I'm happy that the DQ was too huge of a risk to take because Cloud City was great! We got there are just the right time because when we left, there was a HUGE line. The locals seem to be in the know! I ordered a chocolate milk shake (16 ounces), and it was really good, but insanely RICH! I'd recommend the smaller size (12 ounces) for anybody considering getting one. My companion opted for a milkshake with both the "circus friends" (Mother's Circus Animal cookies) ice cream and cookie dough ice cream. My husband chose strawberry & thought it was good. I got a waffle cone with dark chocolate and tiramisu scoops. The cone was one of the best tasting waffle cones I've ever had! The tiramisu had great flavor but I think they took the lady finger element of the tiramisu concept too far, as the whole thing was grainy with crumbs in the mix. It could be improved by making the creamy custardy elements more silky smooth, with a ribbon of the lady fingers. That said, I gobbled it down just the same! The dark chocolate was soooo silky, smooth and dark. I loved it! read more

My daughter didn't get her full experience since she dropped her cone, but I gave her some of my ice cream. All the flavors I sampled were all good and they give very generous scoops. I feel like the staff were ok, but not as friendly as other ice cream shops I've been to. Maybe that's the vibe of this ice cream shop. The flavors make up for it though. Their salted caramel was one of the best flavors of ice cream I have ever had. The neighborhood/area was also so cute, where people actually stand around and enjoy their ice cream in the parking lot instead of just taking off in their cars.
