Honorary Six Stars We walked into a 50 Licks Friday night and it was very straight to the point. Flavors on the menu board, pints in a stand-up freezer and two servers rotating to provide customers with their delicious ice cream. No other distractions on the walls or in the store. Their Mango and Sticky Rice Ice Cream is my favorite non-dairy flavor I've ever had and it's definitely up there in just overall favorites. Mango, coconut, pandan - it's all in there and just a really fun combo in frozen form. The other flavor I went with was Strawberry. This one was also packed with flavor and I'd also highly recommend. I sampled Lavender Salted Caramel, which had an authentic flavor but wasn't for me, since I just like a hint of lavender. I also tried the coconut lemon saffron which seemed lighter than the rest with the bright citrus notes. I didn't notice a textural difference between dairy and non-dairy - both very creamy. Our friends and I came back two more times to get a pint of the mango and sticky rice. I'd recommend letting it temper a bit since we ate it on the firm side and it wasn't as good as the initial scoops. Overall, I wish I could try all the flavors since we really liked most of the items. I would highly recommend Fifty Licks and it's not surprising they have a few locations spread through the city.
They have street parking and service is friendly and helpful. We got the double classic each and all flavors we chose were soo delicious. Highly recommend trying more than 1 flavor. Lavender salted caramel - 10/10 delightful. Unique combination that surprisingly works really well Matcha mochi - good matcha flavor, not the fake matcha that tastes artificial and sugary. Also has mochi bits inside which are very yummy Banana foster - tasted like fresh banana bread and it's not too sweet. No artificial flavor or sugar. My boyfriend was very happy with his choice Mango sticky rice - very yummy. I think adding mango chunks would've made it even more perfect! The coconut rice reminded me of tapioca pudding actually. Not too sweet and flavor tasted very natural
fifty licks is my go to ice cream place whenever in Portland. This is one of the few ice cream places I've been to than I actually get more than just one flavor. The service was good, they let us try multiple sample samples and the ambience was nice because it was air-conditioned for a hot day
Great Decor & Vibe. Visited this place at 10pm and this is one of the best option to get ice cream in town. The Matcha Mochi has best combined taste. There are tons of other flavors that also attempting but unfortunately is 10 PM and I couldn't have much dessert at that time. Service is great, once you come they offer you to take any sample before pick ones. Everyone is so welcoming! What else missing than coming for the second time?! They also give you loyalty food card for free ice cream! Da best so far in Portland
Really cute spot with a fun, pastel vibe -- kind of like a little ice cream dreamland. The menu is a bit limited, but the flavors they do have are unique and taste exactly like what they promise. I especially appreciated the dairy-free options -- super tasty and satisfying. I liked it enough to come back a second time during our trip! The ice cream was so good, it definitely didn't last 50 licks.
My partner and I were on the hunt for a sweet treat post savory snacks and saw Fifty Licks was nearby. It's on a fun strip with lots of other night life foodie attractions to try. I had a hard time looking up the current menu, which totally could have been user error haha. I walked in thinking there would be matcha mochi offered and was super bummed that it wasn't there. Instead I got the toasted milk, which tasted like cereal milk (cinnamon toast crunch) and banana foster. The tastes were okay, I was expected a more banana Nila type of taste for the foster, so I was a bit let down. The toasted milk was enjoyable but it would be nice if they had some cereal pieces maybe thrown into the ice cream base for some texture. I got two small scoops- they were HUGE! Def not complaining there, I enjoyed every bit! My partner got the mango sticky rice. That was delicious, they did a great job with the coconut base. I would say it probably needed a bit more salt to elevate the flavors more because it was good but was missing a little oomph. Extra mango pieces would've been good too! Seating is quite limited in the store, but the walkable location makes walking out with the ice cream part of the experience.
This is a super cute and popular ice cream spot. The employees are very nice and don't mind if you try a lot of samples. I will say the vegan flavors are a on the icy side so I would recommend a non vegan flavor if you like your ice cream more creamy. If you are vegan or gluten free though there are a ton of options here. Not my favorite ice cream in Portland but a cute spot especially if you're looking for somewhere allergen friendly.

It's never too cold for ice cream in my mind. I crave ice cream more so in the winter so I had to check out another popular Portland spot- fifty licks. With. Plenty of vegan and gluten free options they have something for everyone. Beautiful interior and super friendly staff ready to guide you on best matchups and favorite, you can't go wrong here. I opted for the double scoop coconut horchata and chocolate coconut caramel. Delicious flavor and made with love. A great ice cream spot! read more

It's cool, nothing write home about. They have different flavors of ice cream but the flavors can get a little weird which I'm not a fan of. Just give me regular ice cream without all the special ingredients they add in there. Pricey for a scoop of ice cream. Not sure if I will be back. read more

Great place that is open late. Came with a big group for ice cream. A lot of their flavors are vegan or coconut based which I'm not a huge fan of. I think I got the horchata flavor. Service was good but nothing memorable. read more

Came here on a Sunday night around 6pm and it wasn't busy surprisingly! The inside is so cute and bright and very clean. I tried a couple samples and the worker described the ice creams perfectly which I really appreciated! I ended up with the brownie vs blondie ice cream which was delicious! My friend went with more fruity flavors and I tried her strawberry ice cream which was so flavorful! Will definitely come back again! read more
Absolutely incredible service from Kayli. She was behind friendly and welcoming. The store itself was very clean - adorned hip decor and high ceilings. Don't forget to sample all their delicious flavors. After careful rumination, I decided on blueberry cheesecake and mocha mud pie. Divine flavors and textures led to an incredible mouthfeel. To top it off, be sure to add a gluten free waffle cone. Thanks! read more

I came here with my friend after dinner for a sweet treat, and it was perfect! Walking inside, there's quite a bit of seating, with both booths and bar seats. The space is open, bright, and very colorful--I loved it. Staff here are so kind and patient. My friend and I tried a couple samples before deciding on our flavors. I got the mango sticky rice and it was so delicious. They keep true to their flavors and represent it very well. It's also not overly sweet and the perfect amount of creaminess. My friend and I got the kid's size and it was great for just a small sweet treat. I would love to come back. read more

Ordered the Mango Sticky Rice (vegan) flavor with a gluten-free waffle cone. Should've gotten a regular cone in hindsight, but I don't regret getting this flavor at all. Wonder if they use real sticky rice in there... read more

Fifty Licks is a fantastic ice cream shop. I love how there's tons of unique, original flavors offered and some great takes on classic flavors. The service was great and the shop has some good tables inside to sit at. I got two mini scoops in a sugar cone. The mango sticky rice was ridiculously delicious. I loved the mango and coconut flavors. The matcha mochi was so good. The matcha flavor is present and the mochi adds great chewy bites to the scoop. I highly suggest visiting this ice cream shop. read more
a wonderful alternative to wanderlust !! i normally do not like the mango sticky rice at wanderlust back home because it is vegan... but it's vegan here as well... and it was SAUR GEWD. the matcha mochi was my second favorite, and the brownie vs blondie wasn't so bad either but i didn't want something tooo sweet . my bf got the banana foster and it reminded him of vietnamese flavors -- gave me banana bread vibes! also the staff was very patient and sweet. would want to try and sample everything hmMmmM (we basically did ahahah) read more

I appreciate that they label which ice cream flavors are gluten free and vegan. I was able to try a bunch of different flavors without feeling rushed, and they have a variety that has at least a flavor or two for every taste. My favorite was the matcha mochi - good matcha flavor, and the mochi bits were good texture. I also like that their vegan ice cream was just as creamy as their non-vegan ones. The seating inside is pretty limited but there are 3 big tables for a larger group if you can snag one. read more
I've said it all and I'll say it again, Fifty Licks is the goatest goat of all ice cream. They finally have indoor seating!! Sprint, don't run. They also have the cutest bowls for dine in use. My friends and I have been coming to Fifty Licks for years, and we always have a great time. Overall, we'll definitely keep coming back! Ambiance: 5/5 This is such a fun dessert spot, perfect for hanging out with friends and chatting. It's always clean and spacious, with plenty of room to relax. The restroom is shared with other restaurants and bars in the building and is accessible through a hallway, which is convenient. Service: 5/5 The staff here are always super friendly and generous with samples, which we really appreciate! Food: 4.8/5 Matcha Mochi: Our absolute favorite flavor! I decided to try this ice cream shop since it's a Portland chain. I ordered a double classic of cornbread honey butter and mango sticky rice. The ice cream is expensive, but it was so rich and decadent and I loved both flavors. Service was fast and friendly as well. They have some tables and chairs right outside the shop if you want to enjoy your ice cream right then and there. You can pick two flavors for the double classic or the double mini. They do offer a loyalty stamp card, for those of you who are locals. read more
What a delightful ice cream shop for dairy and non dairy lovers alike! It's been a while since I've stopped by Fifty Licks but I just love the simple pastel aesthetics. It really makes for such a chic space. They have unique flavors I've never seen in other shops but also classic flavors with a local twist. The servers were friendly since they answered our questions and explained some of their favorite flavors to us. I got a double mini of the Mocha Mudpie and Chocolate Coconut Caramel. Both are non dairy flavors and they both tasted amazing! I really appreciate when ice cream shop offers non dairy flavors that have complexity and taste similar to their dairy counterpart. I really like how creamy both the ice cream flavors were. Definitely need to hit up this spot again soon! read more

Friendly staff! Samples provided! Unique and fun selection of flavors. Ice cream has a smooth, soft texture. We had two flavors, the matcha mochi, with small mochi bits which is fun for texture people. And the blueberry cheesecake, rich and balanced with the slight tart of the blueberries. It's in a good location for those who want a sweet treat after dinner! read more
