First time at Hurry Back, and I'll be back! I had the cheesecake and the mandarin orange chocolate. The mandarin was just the perfect amount paired with the chocolate, and I loved that the cheesecake was JUST cheesecake, not cheesecake and fruit. Both delicious. My wife had lemon poppy seed and French Roast. The lemon poppy was very refreshing, and not too tart. I didn't try the French Roast (I'm not a coffee ice cream guy) but she LOVED it. Brought home a pint of Dark Cherry Chocolate, and to be honest I'll probably finish that tonight. Delicious, and the people were so friendly and accommodating. Samples available! Hurry Back Ice Cream is a little food cart that has been in Sellwood for 11 years now. Parking is street parking as the food cart is part of a pod. They serve Philadelphia style ice cream which means it's eggless and just fluffier. We tried samples of Orange Blossom, Grasshopper, and Banana Cream pie. The flavors were refreshing and out of this world. The very friendly hostess told us the use real Orange for example in the orange blossom. We got the double size with orange blossom and Banana Cream Pie but it was difficult to choose as the Grasshopper was very good also. They serve it in compostable bowls of you go the bowl route but they have cones too. Worthy of a stop for sure! Every batch is made right there so it's pretty fresh! oh my goodness - this is run by SUCH a sweet family! I have celiac and had all kinds of gluten questions and they were so kind to answer - my spouse can't have dairy and they answered all those questions as well. It was hot and I enjoyed a strawberry pineapple scoop - I even stopped back (talk about hurry back!) to get another scoop of it after my lunch. So good and refreshing! Love that it's a small business and the staff was very nice. Nice selection of both diary and non-diary ice creams. Nothing too out-there but a good variety of some classic and less common flavors (orange creamsicle, maple...) I really liked the texture of the ice cream, perfect creamy and thick. I had the espresso ice cream which was a fairly solid coffee flavored ice cream. My wife had the Ghirardelli chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup and that hit the spot! The only downside is that this food truck is a couple of blocks from our house.
