It was a nice refresher. The original butter with maple syrup souffle pancakes had half sugar powder & I think half brown sugar powder. These souffle pancakes were soft, and light. I bought a half portion of the salty egg yolk castella cake and I was told to microwave the egg yolk cake for 35 secs before eating. Microwaving the cake made the cake soft and salty egg yolk runny. It was pretty good. Overall, the service was great, and drink/food was good. Would I come back? Yes. Just a heads up, the cafe only has 2 tables. read more

It's well decorated with cutesy things to match the cute food & drinks they serve :) we were a bit bummed at first since all of seats were taken, but a couple was just finishing up and courteous enough to hurry so we could sit.. soo nice of them! I got the coconut cream brûlée banana soufflé pancake. I saw it on IG and KNEW I had to get it. It was everything I wanted it to be. The warm pancake was jiggly & had a slightly eggy flavor. The coconut cream was super light & not too sweet which is perfect for me. And lastly the banana brûlée topping added a sweet layer of crunch! I inhaled this. The whole thing. It was SO. GOOD. I know this doesn't mean much since I'm not a dessert connoisseur, but this is the best soufflé pancake I've ever had! Lol. Thanks to Yelp Hawai'i, I've been getting reacquainted with milk tea or boba beverage cafés in Hawai'i. I was introduced to milk teas or boba drinks way back in the 80s, 90s, and 00s during multiple travels to Taiwan, Hong Kong, and South East Asia. Heck, I even remember seeing cheese foam topped tea beverages in 2010 in Hong Kong even though boba beverages had already gained interest in the USA. I am an avid tea (and coffee) drinker but I rarely put dairy into the beverages as it not only changes the flavor of the beverage but I'm somewhat lactose intolerant. Hence my hesitance to drinking milk teas. When I came to Cloud Nine Café I was pleasantly surprised when I inquired about the use of a non-dairy substitute in the complimentary milk tea as my Elite Perk. Anna, the owner, stated that they use non-dairy substitutes unless the customer asks for whole milk. Phew! I was relieved and placed my order for the complimentary boba tea and as I was ordering, my husband surprised me by suggesting we get Cloud Nine Café's Signature soufflé pancakes. I quickly scanned the dessert menu and settled on ordering the Salted Cream Cheese with Macadamia Nut souffle pancakes. Anna said that it's her creation and wanted to include macadamia nuts to show her café's local connection. The friendliness and attentive service was inviting, welcoming, and relaxed. I felt Anna's passion for her business and engagement with her customers. After all, Cloud Nine Café is her local tea shop and is not a franchise. COVID-19 safety protocols are being followed as there are plexiglass barriers between customer at order counter, contact tracing forms are required to be completed, you're asked to keep your mask on unless you're actively eating or drinking and they do sanitize the dining areas after use. Making the soufflé pancakes takes about 20 minutes so if you're in a rush, you might consider calling in your order if it's going to take you some time to get to Cloud Nine Café. But, I think it's probably better to just order a couple of beverages, sit back and relax while waiting for your pancakes and you'll have them served hot and fresh. When Anna delivered our pancakes, I was impressed by their jiggle and the flow of the salted cream cheese sauce which looked like white lava. There sprinkles of matcha powder and drizzles of sweetened condensed milk on the plate. Indeed, this dessert was plated very nicely and I saw my husband's "look" which hurried me on with my photos. Eh, you'd think that he'd know by now, that the "camera eats first"?! Cutting carefully into the pancakes, the airiness of the top 2 pancakes almost made them slide off but my husband used his fork to counterbalance them, so I could take a photo of the fluffiness. The airy, cloud-like pancake tasted eggy and rich. The cake flour in its base helped to stabilize the meringue's air bubbles while giving the pancakes structure as these pancakes stood tall while we dove into them. Yes, they were jiggly, and eating these pancakes were not food coma producing. I would return for their other flavored soufflé pancakes or even repeat this menu selection. But, hold on... this Café offers other Taiwanese savories which we'd like to try such as the Taiwanese pan-fried rice noodles with tea egg or pork dumplings. I did notice that Cloud Nine Café has daily beverage specials priced at $3.99 so we're planning on returning for a couple of savory dishes when they're offering Thai tea or lychee-coconut tea. My husband ordered The Ube Smoothie. And I had an Americano. (Like I needed more sugar with that Brown Sugar Pancake) Fast service. The drinks came out in 2 min and the Ube Smoothie was yummy. I'm not a fan of Ube as much as my husband but it tasted home made not powdered. Not super sugary but just right. My Americano was perfect. Less that 10 min our Food came out. Oh my. I've heard about the souffles from here for some time, but never got around to trying it. Yelp had an event here and it was the perfect time for me to get one. They had a few flavors to choose from. I drank my boba milk tea in the meantime and it was perfect. The aroma wasn't too strong and the boba had just the right chew to it. I got it at 75% sweetness and it was just right. After brunch one day, my friends and I met at Market City Shopping Center to try this fun dessert at a "new" shop called Cloud Nine Cafe. This Hot and New Business took the place of Dragon Tea (which moved to Kalihi). It shares the same crowded parking lot with Foodland, Cafe Kaila, Walgreens, and Anytime Cafe. The decor is REALLY CUTE! There are several Instagramable walls that make great backgrounds for your milk teas. It's a bit tricky to hold up your souffle pancakes to the backdrops...lol... So, just position your heat-sealed cup up to the wall! I got the Mango cream Souffle Pancakes a couple of times because the fresh kiwi and Strawberry slices are so colorful and pretty... Oh... And healthy, too! I liked the light fluffiness of the pancakes and the subtle mango essence in the creamy sauce. Came on Sunday morning before church and left super satisfied. The tea eggs and dumplings came out first, with the pancakes taking the full 20 minutes they warn you about. The texture of everything was perfect. The pancakes were nice and fluffy, albeit my body was not happy with the amount of sugar I consumed. Delicious nonetheless. It's not heavy and all and when you cut into it you can see the fluffiness and spongy texture it has on the inside. It was perfect I've always approved of their Milk tea but this Caramel Soufflé cup was soooo good it was also a light soft texture that wasn't super sweet either. There are available parking in the lower parking area if the upper parking area is busy. After lunch at Ala Moana, my cousin and I made our way to get some dessert here. When we arrived, I was in almost a shock because there was nobody inside, except for a few patron. Maybe due to COVID-19 or due to the fact we aren't allowed to eat inside yet, but I wasn't complaining. My cousin and I ordered the Chocolate Cream with Orea Chips Soufflé and the Mango Creme with Fruit Soufflé. Chocolate Creme Oreo Chip Souffle This was by far my favorite between the two. The soufflé was nice and airy and light; Like a cloud! It had nice heaping amount of their chocolate creme on it and it went perfectly with the soufflé. Top it with Oreo crumbles and it was like heaven in your mouth. The chocolate wasn't too overpowering and had a nice lightness to it. I could eat it on every dessert. Mango Creme with Fruit Soufflé If you love mangos, this is the one for you. Their mango creme was the real deal. Literally tasted like they took a ripe mango and blended it and drizzled that on the soufflé. Topped with fruits, it makes for a refreshing dessert. I miss being in Japan eating souffle pancakes. I even learned to make them at home. But, only an expert can really make the best ones. I may have found a place in Hawaii that makes them well. While being out with my friends again, we went to get some sweets. Ordered the boba souffle pancakes $11, milk tea, and chrysanthemum tea. I had the chrysanthemum tea that tasted alright. Something you can get from a can but less sweet. My friend who drank the milk tea said it was "okay". The main part of coming here is the souffle pancakes. 3 pieces per order. Dining in would probably have a better presentation of the pancakes and the perfect Instagram picture. However, no dining in at this time. You have to eat the pancakes right away or it will be mushy. And so we had to eat it in the car. Pancakes were very light and soft, like eating air. The sweetness level was just right. The syrup was light. The boba was chewy and soft. I'd like to start this off by saying that I have been to this place multiple times since 2020 and have enjoyed the food every time I went. For souffles, my family and I ordered the Chocolate Souffle, Original Souffle, and the Brown Sugar Boba Souffle. So far, my favorite one has been the Borwn Sugar Boba one because it has just the right amount of sweetness and the boba has a nice chewiness to it. The souffle pancakes themselves are very light and fluffy. It easily melts in your mouth and is similar to a Japanese style cheesecake. I have yet to try a dessert on island similar to the one that Cloud Nine offers and I'm really sad that this location will be closing today. I hope that Cloud Nine does reopen sometime in the near future for more customers to enjoy their delicious food and drinks! read more

This place is super cute! I came here unexpectedly because I was visiting a friend who works in this building and wanted to try something new! I used to see Cloud Nine Cafe all the time all over social media since they're known for the souffle pancakes! However, since I visited early in the morning around 8:30 am, I wasn't feeling something too sweet. They had a special called Sunrise Special or something like that and I think it came with a drink so I got an iced mocha coffee. The Sunrise Special came with 3 savory souffle pancakes, 1 fried egg, spam, chees and some strawberries. It was definitely different! I did do to-go order and it was still warm by the time I got home. The iced mocha was okay, don't think I'd get it again. I'd love to try this place again except try maybe some of their sandwiches or even get a different souffle pancake. There's a few chairs inside, but not sure if you can actually sit down to eat. The soufflé pancake was really light and airy. We tried the brown sugar boba. I would have ordered either the mango or strawberry ones but the kiddo didn't want either. I have a love-hate relationship with bubble tea. As in, I love it and I hate that it disappears so fast. Cloud nine is a darling little shop hidden away in a strip mall next to Foodland. It's clean and safe, which is nice in covid times. They sell rainbow reusable straws! They have a few small Cafe tables open only for those who order their decadent looking fluffy waffles. I don't believe they're gluten free, sorry gf folks ‍. But, bubble tea is safe! My milk tea was tasty. It was just your standard black tea, 25% sweetened. The boba was perfect and soft. They offered a decent quantity. The avocado banana with boba was super yummy. The women who helped me was kind and patient since it was a little hard to hear her over the woman behind me who was talking loudly. On Cloud 9 at this cute little cafe! And by "On Cloud 9," I mean extremely happy! We got the Strawberry Cloud Smoothie, Strawberry Guava Smoothie (absolute favorite drink item on their menu), Strawberry Cream with Blueberry Soufflé Pancake, and Pork Dumplings (best I've ever had). The Strawberry Cloud Smoothie was okay, it was like strawberries and cream, but the strawberry flavor was a little faint for me. Great for pictures though! The Strawberry guava smoothie on the other hand was fantastic! The guava flavor is prominent and the strawberry balanced out the flavor and made it all work together nicely. The Pork Dumplings with chives and cabbage were literally the best dumplings I ever had. Plump, soft and filled with lots of different flavors inside. As for the Strawberry Cream with Blueberry Soufflé Pancakes, they were nice and soft, jiggly, but I think I had too much strawberry products (strawberry cloud and strawberry guava boba) that it overshadowed the flavors of this pancake. I gotta come back and try their other soufflé pancake flavors to see how I really feel about them. And you might have to fight for parking in the Market City Shopping plaza area...but there are cars that come in and out quite often. You just gotta be patient. read more

Came here for the first time and I wanted to try their fancy looking pancakes, but we were having dinner elsewhere so instead, ordered a large milk tea with no boba and with coconut creme topping. My wife ordered this specific drink cause she's all into her milk tea, but she didn't really like it. I drank the other half and I can't honestly tell you if there's a difference. My wife loves Hana Tea so sometimes I think she's automatically biased, but even Hana Tea somewhat tastes the same. I'm more of a mungbean type of guy when it comes to boba drinks. Prices are pretty cheap too. The staff was friendly and quick with my order. I was in and out in less than 3 minutes. There are tons of drink choices to pick from and pancakes. I will try a pancake one of these days. The parking lot is huge and shared with other establishments in Market City. read more
