What can I say other than - GO! It's one of Atlanta's oldest bars and disco that serves the mature crowd. It's located in the heart of SW Atlanta on Campbellton Road in a shopping plaza. Parking is free and the door is free from 6-9 PM. After 9 PM it's a $15 cover. For my Mom's 75th we reserved a table for 10 and planned to dance, eat & drink to our heart's desire. As a long time patron I was embarrassed Friday. After being away for business for a couple of years I moved back and was going to go my favorite spot, Ellery's. I had even bought a friend along and told them great this place in. Got there at 6:30 hopping to get a good seat. Thete were not a lot of people in the club but ALL of the vacant seats were reserved. There were six people at the bar and the rest were RESERVED. Even seats by the wall were RESERVED. No one at the bar seemed to give a damn that we we looking for a seat. Went to Ellery's for date night on 9/30/25. I hadn't been in years! So I was a bit excited. We arrived before 9 p.m and there was a line formed already. We were 19th & 20th in line. Paid $15 each to get in and there was NO WHERE TO SIT!!! Supposedly reserved tables & the bar had napkins all round holding up seats! Although, the bartender at the main bar hinted if we paid her "Straighten Me" we could get a seat. We were beyond PISSED! We weren't in there no more than 5 mins before asking for our money back!! No refund given. We left anyway. Oan, the staff is RUDE with the exception of the young lady who tried to assist us (Cousin of the owner). Unless you're a GOAT in heels, wear cute flats/wedges. Just left Ellery's very disappointed. We were in line 20mins before the doors open. After paying $30 for entry all the seating was reserved. I asked to speak to a manager for a refund and I was told that they dont give refunds by the waitress. Never saw a manager. We were there, inside, no more than 15min. There is a shared parking lot with ample spaces. This is a club that caters to an older audience. The older crowd welcomes you in with open arms. You can tell this place has been here for years. Everyone was very friendly and the bartenders were very fast getting the drinks out. From what I could tell they were heavy handed with the mixed drinks, so you were definitely getting your money's worth. The music selection matches the audience. For a experience like no other, this is a spot you must hit up. There chicken wings and fries where good and my lemon drop was good. Service was really slow but it may have been do to limited staff. Having grown up listening to bands like Lakeside, Confunksion, the Barkays, the Ohio Players etc, I found it nice to find this old school club on Atlanta's southwest side. Service was good, drinks were just right and the wait staff, very friendly. The only drawback when ordering liquid refreshments is you have to practically hunt your waitress down if you used a credit or debit card because they run all transactions in the back office. With all the technology afforded us these days, I find that quite odd. The other night, my sweetheart and I wanted to go dancing because we have been here before and always had a good time. I don't know what the DJ was thinking, but when you are of a certain age, every now and then you want a slow song playing to dance with your lady. C'mon man, slow the party down every now and then! Not a big deal, but he needs to remember that. We went here on a Saturday night. Parking lot was packed and so was the inside so if you go on the weekend get there early. Entry is $10. Ladies no tennis shoes of any kind. We got inside and headed to the bar. With only two bartenders working the main bar it took us over an hour to get a drink. Fee did her best to cover the bar and handle receipts from the servers. It's definitely too much for one person. They need more bartenders for that type of crowd. Also, the card service is very slow. It took about 20 minutes for them to return with peoples cards. Didn't like the fact security walked cards to the back to be charged then bring them back. Service was just all around slow. The music was nice. Some old and new school mixed together. My girlfriends and I found this place online and it was way south of where were staying but, based on reviews and the atmosphere that we thought it might be we drive 30 minutes to get there. We are from Augusta and were visiting for the weekend. We had so much fun and it was an awesome crowd. The DJ was amazing and the drinks were so good. We met some really cool people and everyone loved to dance. They were having a good time which is what we were looking for. The server was super nice and the minute we walked in the door she greeted us and found us a seat and took great care of us. We did order food and I had ask for my fish to be cooked very hard and almost burned but, they did not do it. My friends enjoyed their food but, I only had fries. It would have been nice to have them remove the cost but, I did not complain just figured it was not worth complaining since they were all so friendly.
