Shout out to Sky Bar for bringing the igloo culture to Virginia Beach!…read moreNow if we could just keep this trend going in Spring/Summer... May I recommend a possible bungalow rental, just like your igloos? Can you tell Summer is on my mind? Sky Bar is one of my favorite places to go. I love the trendy, upscale atmosphere, but they still keep you grounded with their prices being fair & reasonable. They usually also have happy hour, when Sky Bar is actually Sky Bar, not their homemade winter wonderland. I'm going to highlight their igloos though, only because it's something seasonal, and new. You get an igloo reserved for up to 4 of your closes friends, and the igloo comes with: -personal server -decorated, social-distanced space -two heaters -blankets you can take home -waters -and honestly so many picture perfect opportunities. The food on the menu was also amazing, and I am all about experience, so I would highly recommend the s'mores kit. It makes the atmosphere seem more bonded, it's a warm winter night where you are able to do this, and the s'mores kit just set the tone to be a little more perfect. They have their signature drinks, or regular drinks to order just like a bar as well. They also do offer non-alcoholic beverages if anyone was wondering, wish also makes it kid-friendly! Nothing in the igloo was breakable either, which was nice not to worry about. I wish there was a little more space, to maybe have up to 5-6 people. Either way, I loved it. I loved the experience, and I can't wait for next Winter to do this again! And that says a lot, because if you know me, I hate the cold. But I will face Winter if I know I'm going here!

It's a beautiful place. Inviting staff and upscale vibe. Every single visit, the food was absolutely delicious. Top tier flavors and ample portions. Sadly, last night I don't believe the heat was working. It was a tad uncomfy and everyone kept their coats on the entire time. I believe we all would've stayed longer if it was wasn't so cold. I assume it was a fluke, but I've never been there during the winter. Overall, I will always recommend this place because it's a great atmosphere and yummy food. You really can't ask for more but guess what...it's 1 block from the oceanfront & has a sexy outdoor patio as well so it's perfect for warmer seasons. Check them out and let me know what you think!

Not sure if the lounge did this or the city, but when we scanned to pay and park, it only gave us the option to park for 8 hours for $40 ??? We were def confused on that one, but went on with it since we were running late for the event. The atmosphere was cool and a good vibe. There was a live band playing and they sounded really good 10/10. The waitress was nice and attentive checking on us the whole night which I always appreciate. Our paint and sip tickets included a drink. The two options we were given was a margarita or a slushee. I'd give both a 7/10, they had good flavor and were cold and refreshing, but little to no alcohol in either and no buzz at all. We didn't order anything else after trying those two drinks. We also didn't order any food because the other paint and sip participants were saying the food they all ordered wasn't that good/worth the price. I wouldn't mind returning on another live band night, so I will probably be back just for that. My overall rate of experience : 7/10

I didn't frequent Peabody's since I have never been a person who loves dancing or DJs. Also, I was outside of Peabody's target demographic of 18-24 year-olds. This was during my "bitter chick rock" phase that still rears its head now and then, and one of my favorite bitter chick bands was L7! I saw their show at Peabody's on April 15, 1997. It was a great venue for this raw, bitter, loud band with a house packed and standing room only of fans trying their best to make a mosh pit. I guess Hole was my second favorite bitter chick band. Back to the L7 show. Classified as grunge, punk, and metal, I think L7 is more chick punk. Their guitarist was unavailable this night, and they replaced her with a local Va Beach chick guitarist who did a great job. The locals recognized her, I didn't. Smoking was allowed inside, and this audience was pretty aggressive for the times, with a lot of college aged guys wearing backwards baseball caps. That's fine, until the guys use their ballcaps as weapons to poke me in the forehead and face to try to keep me out of their mosh pit making range. The goal of the audience was to get to stage front. The audience even resorted to using cigarette lighters to burn each others clothes. Who does this? This show was during "The Beauty Process" tour and the setlist was great with songs from previous CDs including "L7" and other previous music. Par for the course, during "Cat-O-Nine Tails," a guy in leather bondage was brought on stage and then whipped with a whip by Donita, the lead singer. I'm confident this was just a show, and the poor guy wasn't hurt. "The Masses are Asses" is another L7 tune I like. Why no fifth star? The bouncers were interesting. They waited for patrons to make their way to the stage and for the most part, escorted the patron to the door - kicking nearly each one out. The crowd was "elbow to elbow" making it clear it was difficult to just take an overly rowdy and rough patron from the center of the crowd to kick them out. Still, the bouncers were sophomoric, and should have managed the crowd better. I'm happy to have seen L7, I'm happy my party were hurt, and I'm happy Peabody's provided a sizeable venue for an alternative show in the late 90s!

I LIVE IN ATLANTA! As Kings Hookah & Lounge sits in a shopping plaza, there is ample parking. Once parked, we headed on in. It was Friday Night 9:45 pm and the Cover was $20/males and $15/females. Cover!!!! Yeah, I forgot what it was to pay a cover. Ha. Once inside, we chose a table. The space is very spacious and has the usual hookah lounge decor and setup. There was about 9 people inside but the DJ was rockinnnnnnnnnn. I'm talking hit after hit and I was so excited that the DJ understood how to mix, blend, and play reggae. The service was... let me say this, for there to have been 13 people by 11am, service was below standard as it was super slow and bland. As the menu looked amazing online I was excited to eat. I decided on the Beef Burger and baby listen... it was trash. One - The bun was HARD and STALE. Two - The burger was of a lower quality to the point that the chargrill flavor that I love didn't even taste right. However, the fries were bombbbbbbbb. Extra crispy. Perfect saltiness and pretty golden color. Overall, it was... (insert a word here that represents my aggravation). Nonetheless, if you just wanna kick it, hear a BOMB DJ, and blow Hookah... Pull up to Kings Hookah & Lounge. Just eat before you go.
