This was an amazing hotel for a first-time Boston trip. It is located in the heart of downtown, in the most walkable US community I've ever been to. It is situated right near the Old South Meeting House and the Old State Building, which is smack-dab in the middle of the Freedom Trail. Public transit is about 1 block away on all sides and rideshare drivers can pick you up right out front for easy access. We even had UberEats deliveries that were really easy to navigate. The room is clean and spacious and has plenty of amenities. We had a single queen with a standing shower, a desk with 2 chairs, a kitchenette with a sink, microwave, mini fridge, and even a small electric stovetop. A great room for a great price. The only thing I wish was different is the toilet: you have to "pump" the flush handle to get it to clear out, but it's manageable after you get the hang of it. The staff working here are attentive and kind. Juberto helped us with check in and check out (even let us check out an hour later at 1pm), and gave a friendly greeting every time we walked through the door. The English pub downstairs, Elephant & Castle, is a great respite after a long day sight-seeing and we appreciate Jimmy so much for how welcome he made us feel. We have stayed here a few times due to it's location, which is perfect for the theater, but each time has been a little disappointing. The rooms are acceptable, but very small. We like the free bottles of water on each floor. On our last stay the front desk required everyone to check-in using a kiosk in the tiny lobby. It was much slower and as more people came in it got very cramped. It was so odd because the manager was helping people use the kiosk, but if he had just checked us in himself at the desk it would have been faster and more pleasant. I would consider CQ to be a backup hotel when nothing else is available. read more

Great location, very centrally located to a lot of tourist attractions which helped with not needing to get an uber every time. The first night we noticed that we woke up to the room being very stuffy but didn't think anything of it since we left early in the morning. The second night it was unbearable so we ended up requesting our AC to get checked but ended up getting moved to another room which was appreciated. read more

This is a lovely smaller Hotel located in a very convenient location for someone coming to Boston for leisure. Boston's freedom Trail is just a couple blocks away. There is public transportation also a couple blocks away. There are two young women who are greeting you when you arrive that couldn't be any more Helpfulpr welcoming Their names are Carla and Maya. Staff was very kind and responsive to our needs and concerns. Close to a ton of restaurants, sights and sees, and T lines. Has purified water stations on each floor that was very convenient. Honestly this is a very solid option by Downtown Crossing with all of the essentials plus unlimited water, an open lounge with coffee, and the nicest staff. The only downside is a small gym so you may need to wait for a machine if you go at peak hours. The rooms are on the small side but that is standard for the area, and the showers have amazing waster pressure. A solid option right by the T and Faneuil Hall. read more

Nice solid hotel for a quick stay in Boston! Not sure why the rating is so low, but this place did the job and then some: unlimited coffee/espresso/lattes and water in the lounge area (may I add that they have 'chilled sparkling water'), ice machine on your floor, and empty bottles for you to take and fill up with water. Wifi is decent and doesn't require a password. The room itself is small, but the water temperature in the shower was consistently HOT...that was impressive. The staff were also super friendly. They let me leave my belongings post-check out while I made a quick trip to Chinatown. CQ does not get 5 stars because of the small room compared to the price (~$270/night), the lack of a fridge in the room (I had to eat my food that I brought with me), and some breakfast would have been nice. read more

For the second part of my time in Boston I wanted a hotel downtown. Club Quarters was pretty centrally located with a less than 15 minute walk to the North End, Chinatown, Public Park, and many stops on the Freedom Trail. The lobby had hands-free doors for easy accessibility which was nice. They have a self check-in and out kiosk so you don't have to speak to another living soul the entire stay if you don't want to. The staff was friendly though! To keep the hotel more secure the elevator is only operational once you've waved your room key. My favorite perk was the bottle water, unlimited, with bottles and a cold water filling station just down the hall from my room. I didn't make use of the coffee/tea lounge area but it looked nice if you want free caffeine. Being centrally located meant I had my pick of coffee shops in the mornings, my pick was Ogawa that's a mere 2 minute stroll around the corner. As for the rooms- being a rather affordable hotel, especially downtown where they can be $$$, means the rooms are a bit bare bones visually. I was happy with my king sized bed, a nightstand, a desk, tv, and a shower that was stocked with full sized hair care products that you can snatch and be charged for, or use for your stay and they'll be refilled for the next guest as an eco-friendly less wasteful solution. The linens are not luxuriously soft, but the bed was comfortable enough. It was a quiet place, downtown but also kind of out of the way, and perfect for someone who just wants a decent room for a few days that's walking distance to good food and interesting sites. While it doesn't have the lore of other Boston hotels with famous guests or hauntings, it was a great place for me to pig out on cannoli and watch HGTV after long days of sightseeing. read more

This is nice, clean boutique hotel that offers discounted parking nearby. The staff is very friendly, they offer complimentary coffee , flavored seltzer beverages and hot chocolate. It is in a good location, walking distance to quincy market, little Italy, the Harbor and local restaurants and bars. There is also an Irish Pub connected to the hotel. Boyfriend and I stayed two nights for a short trip in Boston. Hotel was having computer issues when we got there so we couldn't check in--but they held our luggage for us and it gave us some time to explore the area a bit so we didn't mind. Check in was easy and fast when we got back. The hotel room was all we needed it to be--the shower was kind of tiny, which for me was fine, but my boyfriend is a bigger guy so it was uncomfortable for him. The hotel also has a free espresso machine in the lobby which was awesome!! Didn't even have to buy coffee on the trip haha. Overall a pretty good experience! read more

What a cute little hotel in downtown Boston. A short walk to Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market. the rooms are small but that is all I needed so it was perfect. Each floor had a water filling station with fresh bottles to use. --- best idea! In addition each afternoon they serve cookies and in the early evening they put out a few snacks. They always have coffee, tea and sodas for guests. There is an area where you can sit and work but it's small and others are there working. I wondered how many were hotel guests versus off the street but it didn't matter much to me as I was never there. Evidentially they serve the snacks during the week but not on weekends. Not sure I agree with that. The Elephant and Castle Restaurant is adjacent to the hotel so there is no need to go outside to get to the restaurant. The restaurant is the food for room service to the hotel guests which is nice. Valet is expensive. You can self park but if you don't know the area it is easy to let them park your car. You won't need it to walk locally as there is plenty to do around the area. This is a definite must stay again the next time I am In Boston. read more

The hotel here is great! They had free coffee and tea in the lobby which was wonderful and the check-in receptionists were so helpful! Especially Carla and Tristine they were very helpful in giving advice on where to go what to do and helped with our check in/out. As well the rooms were perfect just what you need and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also great it had plenty of countertops space. The staff was nice. The location is great. It is very close to Quincy Market and the North End. The room was very small. The TV and/or cable was okay at best. There is a restaurant attached that we did not go into. There is a sitting area with a coffee machine that also makes expresso, cappuccino etc. no breakfast. We got a room with two twin beds for my son and I. The beds were ok. We only got one pillow each. Would have preferred two. I would stay here again if I needed to. The Good: 1. Centrally located - it's about a 10-minute walk to South Station or Chinatown, a 20-minute walk to Boston Common, or a $4 Uber Pool ride to the Harpoon Brewery. 2. Uncomfortable pillows that are way too high and will hurt your neck 2. Old, dirty carpets 3. Rooms have a musty smell The Ugly: 1. Walls are not soundproof - we didn't hear any noises coming from next door, but throughout both nights of our stay, we heard the opening/closing of the room door at all hours. Every time this happened, we woke up, so we didn't really get a good night's rest while there. Pretty sure someone might be running a prostitution ring there or something. I'd like to do 2 reviews. The staff gets a 5. The location is good and easy to get to the T and Fanuiel hall etc. Price not bad. My issue is the place is old which I'm fine (pink tile, old rug, worn mattress) with but there are basic maintenance that needs to be done and one small 2 draw dresser isn't enough for 2 people. I had a room with a kitchen and desk. Oh and replace the convection ovens with microwaves. read more

This place sucks. The management sucks. This isn't pet friendly no matter what Priceline or Expedia may say. They don't pick up their phones when you call to double check if the hotel is actually pet friendly. The "manager" literally thinks she knows everything about every hotel in Boston and basically told us that none of the hotels would accept our dogs. I mean really? None of the hotels allow pets? Come on lady! She made us feel like trash for not wanting to board our pets on a weekend trip. Catch my drift? The place is awful. Don't stay here. The rooms from what I've read aren't even that amazing. It's not the only hotel in the area, there are other hotels that are just as scenic and near the touristy area of Boston. When we walked into the room we couldn't believe how small the room was. It's shockingly small! Next, we couldn't find a fridge and we called the front desk. We were brought up a mini fridge. The room also didn't have tissues or a plastic laundry bag. The website tells you to park at Pi Alley and the hotel will validate your parking for a discount. However, we paid for parking before we came and the front desk stated that we needed to get a physical paper receipt which it did not say on the website. This hotel's location and Daniel the manager are the only reason I am not giving it one star! You're steps away from Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, and a short 15 minute walk to the Boston Common. read more

This was a last minute stay to enjoy a wonderful sunny day in Boston. Staff was extremely wonderful and helpful! The parking garss Ashe that is discounted is 3blocks away and on the way to Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market which is only 8min walk from hotel. Hotel has a small loading/unloading area which is convenient to get everything in your room and then head to park your car and walk to the mentioned aware above. At night we even walked since it was delightful from North End (Italian Restaurants) all the way back to hotel and it was safe and well lit even you avoid some side roads that are darker. Cons: a bit run down in our room with couch upholstery very faded and worn out and bathroom had visible cracks on tile floor. Pros: safe, well priced for what we got and wonderful staff. AWFUL. WORST hotel we've stayed in YEARS!! They are literally living "quarters", NOT hotel rooms. The supposed "Queen" beds are Double to Full and about 5 inches thick and filthy and . They can barelyyy fit that tiny bed in that room because they don't have double nightstands!! There is about 10 inches of space between bed and window. We called Orbitz and the front desk allowed us to check out 2 days early without a charge and we walked to The Bostonian up the street and it was night and day. Club Quarters is a reallll embarrassment to the city of Boston. There's a reason it's the cheapest one in the whole area. Spend the extra $20. It's not worth this hostel living. Club Quarters Hotel in Boston is great in that it's quite centrally situated. I was able to walk to the Opera House and Boston Commons and to the area to the south where my friends/family live. Suite was spacious, seemed clean, and comfortable. Very much appreciated the extra counter space in the bathroom. A bathroom fan would be a nice upgrade for reducing humidity post-shower, etc. Overall, the staff was friendly and helpful. And I enjoyed having the option for sparkling water in the lounge, though the CO2 canister needed to be replaced (also coffee, tea, and still water). One note: though a better rate than some other hotels on the weekend we came (competing with graduations and a conference), the cost per night was definitely higher than expected (higher even than my last overnight in NYC!). read more

Can't complain too much because I got a great deal on this room and the location is PRIME. But there was a mystery stain above the bed on the headboard. And the room smelled so strongly of Ozick that I needed to reach for my inhaler. Just details of cleaning that got to me. I believe they only had queen sized beds. If I could give negative stars I would. AVOID THIS "HOTEL." I arrived and the front desk staff first ignored me as I waited and tried to help another guest before me. When they finally did help, they didn't have my reservation (even though I had an email confirmation) and made it seem like they were doing ME a huge favor by giving me a room. Who taught these people customer service? Or lack there of? When I finally get to the room there is blue tape all over the walls of this rundown place. I found hair and on my extremely lumpy pillows and stiff bed. One of the worst sleeps I've had in a while. And, to top it off, I had ordered food after a long flight and guess what was broken? The fridge. When I opened it, it smelled rotten and now I have to waste a full dinner from last night. What a disappointing and disgusting experience. Do not stay here if you can avoid this place. And I hope the manager sees this and talks to their staff about how to treat guests. read more
