For high tea, family members and I visited the Four Seasons hotel for the second year. It's become an annual tradition right around Christmas, at various locations like the Taj and one in the seaport area. This visit was exceptional in pretty much every way. The environment was beautifully decorated for Christmas, like last year, and I had to take some pictures to have as desktop wallpaper on my computer. We had a very nice time and the selections on the menu were impressive. I went with the carrot cake chai black tea, mainly because it had pumpkin pie kinds of spices and vanilla rooibos. It tasted wonderful, like an autumnal tea, and all our teas came in beautifully decorated tea pots, apparently from Australia. The Four Seasons also does this interesting thing where they give you a liquor that fits with your tea order, to be added if you wish or drank by itself. I had a sip of mine and from someone else's, a bit strong for me but a bailey's one was alright. I'm fine with just tea myself! As for the food, this year's high tea was one of the best I've had. The menu was different from last year's, which was great too but in my opinion this seemed like an upgrade. Some of the food items included pieces of salmon in a little pastry, mini lobster roll, peking duck crepe, curried chicken croissant, a beautiful deviled egg, vanilla bean and brown butter scones, an eggnog tart, and a Santa hat shaped raspberry pastry. We even got some alternate options for a lactose sensitive person, so that's a great plus as well. The atmosphere was elegant and calming, and the service was great. Very nice hotel. Room could use a desk for business travelers. Very nice bar on the second floor which I think gets sold-out to weddings on the weekends. Otherwise, not really bar, more of a lobby coffee shop. And there's aslo a coffee shop but was closed mid-afternoon on a Saturday, which was really strange. It feels a bit small for the building because I think it's split between a hotel and residences, so the hotel is small than it appears. Not uncommon these days at high-end brands but a negative in my mind because the result is usually less common space and lower quality services than a large hotel might afford. The big problem for us was the HIlton Park Plaza right behind us was on a multi-day, noisy (drumming and horns) strike. I would NOT stay here, particularly in the back, until that is over. read more

Friendly service. From check in, housekeeping, room service, housekeeping and attendant at the pool. The room was exceptional. Roomier than most hotels in the area. Amenities were great. A room called "the vault" had free snacks, use your room key to get in. The location was across an awesome park- safe and peaceful. read more

I stayed here this past weekend and had a lovely stay. The staff was mostly phenomenal. The bed was a dream - so comfortable. The room was well appointed and large. The view was of a weed filled roof but overall enjoyed the room and bathroom. Only hiccup - I had drinks two nights at the bar. First night, the bartender was great. He made a perfect gimlet. The second night I sat down and immediately jumped up and pulled a shard of broken glass out of my backside that was lodged in my fanny (lol). I gave the shard to the bartender and gathered some napkins and brushed off the seat. We found several other shards of glass on the bar top and only then was the bar wiped down. A prickly mishap (ouch!) but otherwise it was still a good night. The bartender from the night before appeared when I was ordering my second drink so I got to order another perfect gimlet :) read more

I actually didn't stay there but was at the Sheraton across the way. If you plan on getting any premier room with a soaking tub in front of the window, if there are curtains...CLOSE THEM! Numerous times we were able to see right into their bathrooms, kids brushing teeth(and fighting for the sink haha) a couple naked getting to the tub, someone else getting out of the tub etc. If you're spending over 1k per night, I would hope at least curtains or shades are an option. But if they are not, then shame on Four Seasons! I closed our curtains...not necessarily for our privacy, but for yours! read more

This is a nice hotel, but nothing extraordinary. I'd say it doesn't hold up to the cost. Numerous service hiccups left us disappointed. When we arrived, our room wasn't ready. They offered to upgrade us to an executive suite which we were told would be ready faster. This meant I'd be sleeping on a pull out couch, but they assured us it was a comfortable queen sized pull out. They held our bags for us and texted us when the room was ready which wasn't until 2:30 pm. Not really any faster than a standard 3 pm check in time. When we got the keys, they informed us they had already taken the bags to the room. We went up to the room and our bags were missing. We called the front desk which apologized and said they would be brought up right away. After 30+ minutes, we still had not received the bags, so we went back down to the lobby as we were being held up from waiting at this point. The bags were on a luggage cart just waiting in the lobby. We told them we would just take them up ourselves which we had no problem doing originally. They apologized again and said they would take them up "right away". No one moved to get them. We told them we'd been waiting 30 minutes and needed them immediately and we'd just take them ourselves. Only then did they finally have someone bring them up with us. Bit pointless at that point after such an inconvenience. We requested pillows and a mattress topper for the pull out couch and for turn down service at 7:30 pm. They came at 6:30 pm instead while we were still in the room and had to request they come back at the time we had asked for of 7:30 pm. We had received a bottle of wine to the room, but there was no corkscrew to open it. On our way back to the room we asked the front desk for a corkscrew. They told us to go the the 2nd floor restaurant for some reason. We told them again, we just wanted a corkscrew to take up to the room to open the bottle brought up earlier. Again they said to go to the 2nd floor bar. For the 3rd time I said we already have the bottle of wine, we aren't looking to buy wine at the restaurant, please give us a corkscrew. At this point another person at the front desk came over understanding the confusion and said she would have a corkscrew sent to our room. We received it about 5 minutes after getting back to the room. The pull out couch was made up when we returned to the room after dinner but there was no mattress topper like we had requested. We asked at this point, 11 pm, for them to please bring the topper we had requested. They said they'd bring it right away. At midnight, we still had not received anything, calling the front desk again, we asked for the topper to be sent right away. Finally someone came about 5 minutes after that. They did not offer to remake the bed with it and we had to remake the bed ourselves with it. This turned out frivolous as the topper was paper thin and could not add any comfort to the metal in the pull out couch. We asked for a roll away bed the next day which was a whole lot more comfortable. Do not recommend trying to utilize the pull out couch bed. Various other minor issues made this quite a frustrating stay. There was a wet spot in the carpet near the bathroom door, no clue from what. In the shower they gave us 2 shampoos instead of a body wash, it was corrected the 2nd day. We had a $100 credit to use at the hotel but were not told it could not be used on alcohol. Perhaps our own ignorance, but would have been nice to have been informed of that before buying $20 cocktails in the restaurant. The AC did not fully cool the room down. We had it set all the way down to 60 with the fan on high, the room felt like the low 70s, still too warm to comfortably sleep for us. The mini fridge made a weird popping sound randomly throughout the night. The curtain rod came off when opening the curtains, it was held by a thin metal clip that was easily bent, strangely poor design. This was a nice hotel, everything was clean, the decor was pleasant. The staff were all kind, despite the timeliness issues. We had a good view looking towards the commons. The rainfall shower was great and had a good amount of water pressure. The coffee shop in the lobby with free espresso drinks was a great addition. There was also a cool "vault" room with free snacks. These things could not, however, outweigh the negative experiences and left us with no desire to return here again. read more

I had the WORST experience at your dining room at the Four Seasons at the Public Garden in Boston on Dec. 1. I was taking a good friend out to lunch. We drove up in a luxury car and the valet said it was $45 CASH to park. I said I was lucky to have cash, and then he said it would only be $40. We walked into the Fr. restaurant on the first floor. There was no one at the hostess station to greet us, and finally we saw a waitress who said to sit wherever we wanted. Then a woman in a black outfit with an Ipad walked over to the table and asked for my name and cell phone no. and if we were hotel guests or residents of the Four Seasons condos. REALLY! I asked why, and she said "In case you leave anything here or there is a problem with your credit card." We were dressed well and could obviously pay for for lunch. Shocking and insulting. Finally the waitress came over. I ordered a salad with shrimp and my friend ordered tofu. The waitress asked if I wanted the shrimp RAW or grilled. I asked about RAW, and ordered it grilled, obviously. Anyway, she brought the wrong drink for me, forgot to bring more breadsticks my friend had asked for, etc. The salad had no flavor in the skimpy dressing and my friend said she liked her entree, but I'm not sure she was just being polite. The bill was over $100 plus tip...The coke and tea were $10 each. I don't mind paying exorbitant prices for a delicious, elegant meal in a wonderful restaurant, but this was a horrid experience. Shocking. I don't know why we were so mistreated from the get go! I will never go back to the Four Seasons at the Public Garden. Appalling. read more

The best, most enjoyable breakfast in the Western Hemisphere is in the Four Seasons on Boylston St. Huge windows onto the lively and beautiful Boston Public Garden are the backdrop to really exceptional food and service. My Lobster Benedict had more lobster than a typical lobster roll, and it was so deliciously chewy that I was the last person to finish eating. The name of the restaurant, 'Aujourd'hu', is French for "amazingly excellent, and prices are much too low for this quality". I never mention names in reviews like this, but if the Wonderful Wilma is in attendance when you go, you're in luck. read more

This is my first time at the Four season in Boston and i must admit that the bed oh man that bed was so comfortable not to mention the sheets and pillows were as well. It was a good size room. We were on the 7th floor, not a lot of traffic in the hallway which helps can't stand when you can hear people walking by. Overall we were happy with the room and the service. OH and their late night chocolate chip cookies and milk is a must try SOOOOOO Good, we ordered 6 and i left 2 of them overnight. The next morning was still delicious with water, It's walking distance to the restaurant "Cheers" and TD Garden. You can enjoy the scenery and walk around. read more

This past weekend we stopped into the bar for an afternoon cocktail. We were on a girls trip to celebrate a friend's birthday. The bar is such an inviting, cozy and beautiful place to spend some time relaxing and getting away from the busy Boston vibe. The young woman, Nadia, who waited on us was exceptional--she was so professional and personable! When she found out we were on a celebration weekend she surprised the birthday girl with a beautiful sweet treat. Absolutely fabulous! I love the Four Seasons already....but this one is the best I have stayed at. Wonderful room service! The concierge, (Rebecca and Julie) made our trip five stars. They will arrange drivers, restaurants reservations...assist with itineraries and it's all first class. The bellman/valet are so friendly and remember my name every day! (impressive!) I'm here with my granddaughter and she loves the indoor pool overlooking the park with beautiful sunsets. The location is prime. Shopping, dining, and strolling the park. Housekeeping is a ten. I stayed two weeks ago in Four Seasons Vegas and last week at Grand Floridian and it's beg for towels. Here they have full housekeeping. Yay! When I'm away I want to do....nothing. Five Stars plus...stayed at VX on Beacon Hill las time and this is our new spot read more

This is a beautiful dining hall and the staff are all great. There were two screaming children throwing food and being extremely disruptive, but I could see that the staff were still super polite and accommodating. We came just for desserts and everything was wonderful and came quickly. I especially loved the cookies and the cheese platter. This Four Seasons is bliss. Can you imagine waking up with the sun greeting Boston Commons as you find yourself escaping a cocoon of the amazing bed of a Garden View Executive Suite? Well dreams become reality on Boylston. The room, location, and genuine service are second to none. What really impacted us was the genuine service. While it is a very nice and can easily be said this is a luxury hotel the staff is reserved, down to earth, and embody the true meaning of service. I do not feel as though there are pretentious airs here from the employees. Upon entering our room the hotel had a handwritten note for our stay as well as some water and apples for us to enjoy after a quick jaunt up 95 to Boston. The room was generously sized and the view was second to none. I truly enjoyed having the sun shine off of The Massachusetts State Capital as we enjoyed a relaxing morning after a beautiful sleep. The gym was nice and room service was prompt. Honestly, the beds are so amazing here we both do not remember falling asleep. The beds at Four Seasons Properties are stunning but the ones at this location are unparalleled to this day. I would highly recommend anyone looking for a stay in Boston to enjoy the Four Seasons on Boylston. read more

This was truly a 5-star hotel experience. From the several staff members that greet you warmly on the way in, everything was as good as you would expect from the Four Seasons name. Once again, I stayed at a sick hotel way nicer than anything I would pay a normal price for thanks to the wheelings and dealings of my wife. Most importantly, the rooms are top notch. Not only are they obviously clean and well-kept, but they are very spacious as well. I've been in some hotels of this caliber where you feel like you are in a box, but this one had a feeling of a bedroom and a little living room area almost, along with a corridor on the way in. Also, the wifi is complimentary, which is a nice touch that saves you from that hidden $15-$20 daily fee you often cough up once you check in to mess around on your laptop. The 24-hour fitness center is also very high quality for a hotel. Plenty of cardio machines and weights to work off that Saturday night dessert buffet they have at the Bristol Lounge Restaurant within the hotel. Lastly, the location can't be beat. Located smack dab in the middle between Boston Gardens and the Commons on Boylston Street, it's perfect for getting everywhere good you need to go in Boston. Assuming I can get a decent rate, I would love to stay here whenever visiting Boston. read more

Spent a four day weekend here lapping up the luxury. My initial encounter was to call the concierge to ask about music venues and to validate my restaurant choices made using Yelp and Opentable. Although I used Yelp for my food choices. David, a jazz musician himself, helped immensely. Marianne, another concierge, helped with ferry tickets to Provincetown. OMG the gym!!!! All Hoist equipment which is my favorite. Not too close together, 12 pieces of cardio, numerous circuit, free weights, balls, kettlebells, straps & bands, foam rollers, medicine balls, bosu, stretchmate, and Cybex station. Also several infused water choices as well as regular. Great sound system and selection of tunes. Sparkling clean! Rubberized floor made for gyms. One wall of mirrors and one wall of windows to maximize light. They also have a row of lights down the middle of the ceiling. Mishap on the curb out front and they were helpful. First night no maid service which was surprising but on spot every night after that. The housekeeping service was fantastic. One day we were in the room and Devi was so accommodating. Lots of extra personal touches! The rooms have large TVs with lots of channels and HBO. Location is within walking distance to so many things including a beautiful park across the street. Great stay! Service was excellent. Workers are super friendly and we're very helpful. The coffee service in the morning was amazing. From shower caps to make up removers to slippers and robes. Everything was excellent! Anything that requested the hotel made sure to provide us like another fridge for our room! Loved my stay here. This was my first time at a Four Seasons, and it surely did not disappoint! I arrived around 9:30am, and they already had my room ready, which I feel like never happens with hotels! The room of course was great. Beautifully decorated, a nice super comfortable king bed with updated large flat screen TV as well as a vanity area and sitting area with chairs and table. The bathroom did not have a bathtub but did have a great rainforest shower. I also love the L'occitaine bath products they have. A complimentary water bottle was left in the room, and they also did a turn down service in the middle of the day. When I got back to my room later that night they had filled the ice bucket with fresh ice for me, which was very appreciated. Customer service at the front desk was great and super friendly. They have complimentary coffee and pastries in the morning for guests. I used the gym in the evening, and it was great. Well updated, many machines, and no one was even there, so I had the whole gym to myself. The gym is equipped with fresh towels, ice water, and fruit water as well as apples. A staff person was even nice enough to offer me a water bottle during my workout when she passed through the gym. Checkout was easy, and my experience could not have been better! read more

Stayed for 2 nights everyone their was A plus so cheerful and eager to help. What a wonderful gem of a hotel in Boston. Didn't get to use the pool but I'm looking forward to the next stay. The room attendant was always there for you no mater what time it was. Had a 35 dollar burger and I've got-a say it was dam good. The room was clean and spacious loved all the mirrors in the bathroom can't wait to do that at home . And the bed was like one big pillow. Stayed here for two nights for a Med school reunion. Wonderful hospitality and excellent service. Rooms were a nice size, decor was lovely and well thought out with regard to function. There was even a large mirror and place to do hair and makeup on the far side of the room near the windows. Enjoyed having complimentary fresh ground coffee, small samples of pastry and fresh fruit in the cafe each morning. Baristas were so friendly and eager to please as were all the bellmen, etc. Highly recommend this Four Seasons any season of the year. read more

I was so excited to finally stay at the Four Seasons but after my stay, I'm not 100% sure why it's so "superb." The employees were all so gracious and the room was nice but nothing stood out from other places I've stayed. The bed was super comfy but the water pressure was non existent and the towels were so scratchy. Also, a lot of the tv channels didn't work. I don't mind paying a good chunk of change for a hotel but this one left me wanting more. If you are coming to Boston, maybe choose the other Four Seasons or another hotel entirely. read more

It pains me to write a bad review for a Four Seasons, as all my past experiences at other Four Seasons have been so spectacular...but this one - Bleh. Went in on an quiet Monday night with a friend to have a few drinks at the Bristol Lounge. After being barely greeted by the bartender (female) with not a smile or "my pleasure" to be found (a hallmark of all the good 4 and 5 star hotels...it makes the experience so pleasant and makes it seem that your business is so valued!!) we settled into our first two drinks. The drinks were very good - great tasting and very original seasonal cocktails - kudos for that much. We got nary a glance from the bartender after that; not one check in, not even a glance as she talked off the ears of an older couple who she clearly knew at the end of the bar. Girlfriend and I decided we wanted some appetizers but couldn't get the attention of the bartender or any of the waitstaff that was rushing in and out from behind the bar - finally after about 5 minutes caught a bus boy's attention and ordered some food. A standout: Avocado Fries with some kind of cilantro dipping sauce - amazing. Again - no acknowledgment, checking in, or any of the general niceties offered at most Four Seasons/Ritz level establishments during appetizers- Nada. Finally girlfriend and I decided to bail as the level of service was not NEARLY worth the exorbitant prices. And don't get me wrong - I have no problem with Four Seasons' prices when you get the level of service expected for the price - but to be treated like I'm in some low level Hilton or Sheraton or Holiday Inn at $15-$18 a drink? I don't think so. I'm offended by the idea. To top things off, the valet was $23 (just last week in the Four Seasons Montecito - an EXTRAORDINARY experience all around, in much nicer digs, the valet was complimentary) and they failed to mention that when I came in....and oh yeah... It took 15 min for the valet to get my car out of their own garage, with no other patrons present, at 11 o'clock at night - in other words, no one else for them to wait on. When I complained to the front desk, they took the cavalier attitude of "well it's just always that way here" which is the LAST thing you want to hear from any customer service rep when you've just dropped almost $100 in less than an hour for a sub-par experience. Oh...lest I forget...the women's bathroom was a hot mess. Not dirty, just messy. The grossest thing? A display of tampax and maxi pads on the counter was covered in a dirty towel. Are they kidding me?? Beyond the pale. read more

Deluxe Garden Suite. Traveling to Boston was a whirlwind experience with the massive tropic storms and meetings all day driving from office to office. A surprise upgrade to the deluxe garden suite was AMAZING. It was seriously the size of a mansion - at least compared to other hotel rooms I've stayed in before. My favorite part of the suite, the amazing bathroom! My CFO was less than impressed, he didn't get the suite (unless he considers a suite a regular sized room) ... but he paid for mine! :) read more

My gorgeous room overlooking Boston Common was wonderful, the spa & fitness center felt like an oasis of calm and every staff member treated me like royalty. Room service food was very mediocre in choice, quality and taste (and I tried a couple of times), but at least the wine was good, which saved the day.
