What a confusing ass experience I booked though "heroes among us" and it was a hot mess since. Beautiful hotel but everything seemed like the quality of a motel 6. Check in was a hot mess. Was double charged and they initially couldn't find my reservation which resulted in a delayed check-in. Eddy the doorman was an asshole and absolutely rude. His coworkers weren't surprised at all. The water pressure sucked and the AC turned off/on every other hour (we reported this and even the maintenance guy observed that it wasn't on even though it was "motion-censored". The shampoo/conditioner bottles weren't filled so thank goodness we brought our own products. The only great experience was the service we recieved from Barry . He was the highlight and our saving grace throughout the entire stay. He was polite, friendly and accommodating and attentive to our needs. Would never return read more

I am beyond frustrated with my experience at The Dagny. I flew into Boston specifically to run the Boston Marathon, an event I have spent months of grueling training to qualify for and prepare for. Instead of competing, I spent my weekend dealing with the most painful, relentless itchy bites I have ever experienced. The physical discomfort was so extreme that I literally could not run. I checked in clear and left covered in welts. To put in that much work and have the entire experience ruined by the condition of a hotel room is devastating. When I brought this to management, their response was insulting. They claimed to hired a third-party pest investigator, but they didn't even conduct the "investigation" until **after** the room had been cleaned. Of course they found "no traces" after a deep clean. It's a transparent attempt to avoid accountability. Despite the fact that their room was uninhabitable and cost me my entire race weekend, they are still refusing to refund me for my three-night stay. It is incredibly disappointing to see a hotel operate with such a lack of integrity. read more

Lovely hotel stay!! So glad we made our way here!! The hotel itself is gorgeous! The lobby, halls, rooms, and the two restaurants are all very beautiful! This is a great place to visit. The views are great, you are close to tons of fun stuff to do, great food, and more shopping than you could accomplish in a week within a few blocks. We hit up the Boston Aquarium and had a lovely dinner at Bostonian Public House. What a great day that was! The room itself is cozy and well designed. I like how the windows open up in the rooms. Fresh Boston air man!! LOL. Bed was super comfy, shower was great, just a good old time!! Amenities were pleasurable too. I'd live here if they would let me and I had the cash to drop. I like it that much! Pro tip! Don't leave your car on the street overnight. I did not see the sign that says, "tow away zone for overnight street cleaning". The parking becomes free after a certain hour at night so I thought I could just leave it there. Nope. $90 ticket on the windshield when I woke up. I am glad they did not tow me though. Really glad. That was a sour spot, but it wasn't much more than what the valet service would have been. Oh well. You live, you learn. Stupid sign was about 15 feet behind the rental car. I highly recommend choosing the Dagny for your boston stay. It's in a great location where you can walk to many coffee shops, restaurants and stores. The rooms were spacious and clean and the beds were very comfortable. The hotel does have a 35 dollar destination fee a day, but $10 dollars of that can be used towards the coffee shop a day which was a very nice amenity. The coffee shop is attached to the lobby which was convenient when I had to get some work done. The hotel itself is updated and luxurious with couches and seats in the lobby. They also have a gym and conference rooms on the third floor. The gym is huge with towels and water available. The only downside was the price of the valet and wait time for $70 dollars a day and a 25 minute wait. Other than that, I enjoyed my stay at the dagny and would recommend it read more

I recently stayed at the Dagny for the first time and I want to start by highlighting the service. It is a top-tier service where all of the employees initiate conversations and offer to help. The rooms are a great size and very clean. Bonus points for having the nicest hotel shower I've ever seen a detachable showerhead is an added luxury in hotels. The rooms came with a fridge, safe, desk, closet with hangers, coffee pot. The valet service is expensive at $70 a day, however it's convenient that you can text to order your car and don't have to wait downstairs. Just make sure to check your receipt as I was accidentally charged for another cars valet, but the valet manager fixed it promptly for me. While the hotel doesn't have a large lobby, there are a few seats spread throughout. They also have a restaurant downstairs that we ordered room service from. We ordered nachos, truffle fries and pizza. If you order one thing, let it be the truffle fries, they were amazing. read more

We stayed here 3 nights while visiting Boston. The staff was very friendly and helpful when asking for recommendations. The place was clean. Our view was great! The bar downstairs was very nice and the drinks were good. We didn't try the food. If you want a nice central place to stay, I would stay here. We were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go during our visit in the winter. We basically only ubered to Fenway for a tour. read more

Beware the parking. They say "parking available"which implies choices like self park or valet. But they only have overworked expensive valet. 70 bucks a night and we waited almost an hour for our car. The Harborside down the street has a deal for self park which costs about $40 a night and it's in secure lot. Also their @coffee shop and lounge" actually is less functional than a Dunkins. No toast, no eggs, cold avocado toast they can't heat. There's better hotel options within a block or two. read more

Love this hotel so far. I always like to stay in historic buildings the heart of things, and this downtown Boston hotel, which was busting first art Deco building, fits the bill. There is a fabrication library of the Libby, as well as a busy restaurant. The times are small (which is typical of historic buildings) but smartly decorated. Our room has something I really like--in addition to the bed, night stands, dresser and desk, there are two super comfy chairs with a table to relax in front of the TV with a drink or snack. The view is also pretty fantastic. The bathroom is large, and had a walk in shower, rather than a tub. I love that because I hate touching hotel shower curtains. They provide the extra little touches like makeup tending wipes, cotton balls, and q-tips. The toiletries have a wonderful smell. The location is fantastic, walkable to the North End, Fanuiel Hall, and Long Wharf . I stayed at The Dagny for two nights in December. I arrived in the evening - the front desk staff was friendly and check-in was a breeze. I stayed in a Deluxe King on the 10th floor. The room is quite large with plenty of space to work and stay and the bed is very comfortable. My only feedback is the room is quite dark. The hotel itself is beautiful and loved the attached coffee shop - The Tradesman. Love the location, close to the harbor and tourist spots like Fanueli Hall and the Old State House and only a 10 minute drive from the airport. Would definitely stay here again. read more

I stayed at the Dagny back in July and had a great experience. First off, the location is excellent.. walking distance to many options. The valet was expensive but I was able to park a few blocks over at Post Office garage for a much cheaper rate. Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. The restaurant inside is a plus, top rated and definitely the best espresso martini I've had in Boston and top 3 I've ever had! They also have a cafe attached which is a plus. As for the room, I have to say the pictures appear modern and updated but my room appeared to be outdated and patched up and over. There was a patched part of the wall, the shower bar was crooked, light switch busted, and the bathroom was outdated with maintenance issues. It just looked like sloppy renovations as compared to the presentation in pictures. The outlets next to the bed did not work and they offered to send someone to fix it but to no avail. There were a few windows in the room which was nice but definitely can see right into office buildings next door so continually closing and adjusting the two layer blinds was somewhat annoying. The bed was comfortable, housekeeping did a great job, and room was spacious. Overall, the price point was a great deal and I enjoyed my stay, just was not expecting the lackluster renovations compared to the aesthetic and design of main areas and the rest of the building. read more

Overall a good location to stay except that since this is located in the financial district, everything is closed after work hours. If you're looking for food or grocery, you need to go for a nice walk unless you have a rental car. Hotel room is overall nice and comfortable. No issues with the room at all except the coffee maker doesn't come with a mug to use but a tiny paper cup (perhaps around 3oz) which was odd. Service from staff was a mix bag. Came here to stay for one night with the girls while the boys went to a gaming convention. It was so easy to check in and the rooms were spacious and beautiful. The beds were very comfy. When it came to sleep I was knocked out right away. They also have an espresso machine in the room which was perfect for when we woke up in the morning. Didn't have to go anywhere for a quick wake me up drink. Oh! I also learned something new. If your pillows are too soft and your head just sinks right to the bed. All you have to do is ask the front desk and they will be more than happy to help correct that. read more

What a disappointment. First the good-location and cleanliness (though upon further inspection the bathroom did show some minor signs of mildew around the shower edges/grout). In the financial district, it is close to Quincy Market and the North End so it is central to those areas as well as the subway. On our last visit to Boston we had made a choice between The Godfrey and The Dagny and we chose the Godfrey (great choice). This time we decided to try The Dagny as it was closer to the reason we wanted to visit and with my limp we wanted a little less walking. Clearly, The Dagny is looking for that art-deco vibe and they fall short on that. I found the decor to be very stark. The room was nothing special and the setup was all lost negative space. A long hall in the room led to a small bedroom area. The king bed took up most of the room. The bathroom was too large and took up too much room space that could be put to better use. The sliding barn door to the bathroom was incredibly difficult to open and close, I even took a look at the rollers thinking there was something wrong with it - nope. The bathroom sink faucet had a tight handle that you had to push a bit to move - I can imagine people with arthritis having an issue with it. There were no real amenities to speak of except bottled water in the room and a refrigerator. I did like the option for a screen shade or a blackout shade, but again they were very tight and you had to have the chains perfectly in line and give a healthy tug to get them to go up and down. The heat/cooling system was very odd in that it was cool so I wanted to take off the chill and put the heat on but when I did the room actually got cooler and I finally shut it off (maybe I am an idiot but I couldn't get the room temperature controlled). The valet staff were very nice and friendly but at $70 a day on your bill, it is obscene (we only stayed one night). A hint - drop off your luggage and others with you then park about 5 minutes away in the public lot to save quite a bit (I couldn't do that as I indicated I walk with a hindering limp). The coffee shop was Tradesman and we both found the coffee to be bitter, but at least we had a room credit to use there (you have to charge it to the room to get the credit) which we hope to see on our final bill. There was construction going on but it was not an issue. There are two entrances with the Broad street entrance used for Valet Parking. If there is a next time we certainly will not stay here despite getting a really good room rate this time which rapidly increased after adding in all the taxes and "amenity charges"(that all hotels employ nowadays). The Glitz here is all superficial - there are better options. read more

The walls are really thin, you will hear hallway noise and they can hear room noise I'd assume. Fast elevators and space in them, so never waited. 5/3 Update. I received a reply from The Dagny management. They refunded a credit to my payment. This was the right thing to do. Beware of false advertising with respect to what's included in the $30 per day destination fee added to every room. Their website states it's a daily credit to be used in the hotels two onsite restaurants. We dined in the fin & point the first night of our stay. The credit wasn't applied to the charge. When I inquired I was told it is not available the day you check in. It is a nice hotel in a good location but if this is the policy it should be clearly stated. I did include this comment on their survey and got an obviously auto generated reply of thanks for completing the survey. If you are asking for feedback the manager should read & reply to the survey. read more

Room was quiet, except for the construction in am, but pretty common for Boston. The lobby is chic and clean. Bathroom was spacious with modern amenities. Bed was fairly comfortable. We made good use of the gym, which had just about everything. Housekeeping kept the room spotless. My one complaint is staff was unable to comp us for our included $10 daily money to go towards our in-house coffee, because we forgot to put room number down when purchasing. Really enjoyed my stay at The Dagny. I was in town for work and The Dagny was the perfect location and place to spend a few days. The decor has a very classic warm upscale feel, and the everyone on the staff I encountered was very friendly and helpful. The Dagny has two places to dine in the building, along with a cute library room at one end of the lobby. My room was a nice space with a very comfortable bed, large bathroom and shower, good closet, and nice decor. The only downside for me was that the rooms have robes, but mine didn't and I didn't realize it until the final evening! Oh well, hard to miss something you never had (others said they were nice, however). The Dagny provides a credit per day that can be used at the adjoining restaurants if you charge to your room (included in the "destination fee"). That was a tremendous bonus for me as Tradesman was fantastic and it saved me having to find places to grab breakfast. I had a coworker mention that they were not informed about it at their check-in, so the staff may not be consistent about telling everyone about this benefit. They also have complimentary music/drinks in the lobby (wine on Wednesdays and champagne on Thursdays) to start the post work or tourist wind down. read more

From the moment we stepped out of the car the tall doorman with a cool felt hat (I wish I knew his name and that's 100% on me because I know he already knows mine) was amazing, SO friendly and helpful and...FUN. Checking in Javier was awesome, but that truly showed when we (for silly reasons) asked to change rooms - Javier was so kind and helpful and immediately recognized me when I went back down to the lobby and got everything taken care of immediately and so easily. The Dagny was an enjoyable stay, and I was happy we decided to stay at this hotel rather than another hotel which I discovered had horrible reviews. We arrived to Boston late Friday night, after a long journey I was very happy to see that were delightfully surprised with an upgrade to our room, as well as valet able to greet us at the door to valet the car. We stayed for the weekend and the floor was very quiet which I was happy with. The room was clean and Art Deco style. The mattress was comfortable but the pillows kind of sucked. All of the staff there are very friendly and personable, so is the check-in reps as well. The reason for the loss of star as told to me by my gf is that there was no robes or slippers in the room as advertised, the shower wasn't great, there was no extra special surprise like greeting champagne or personal touch. Overall, good hotel to stay at for the weekend, but be aware the valet is $60 a night and the restaurant has weird extra charges, slow service, and wasn't the best. read more

Spot has potential. What made the stay was the great staff who went out of their way to help find a fan when the room was hot. Downsides are it's a revamped old Hilton and even with the shine up, you can still feel the old parts like no AC in the winter, slow elevators and not terribly good sound proofing. All in all a good stay of you can get a good price, and the location is good, but they could improve on the actual structure a bit more. I travel a lot and have not had an experience like I did at The Dagny. Stayed here with a group of 9 friends with several rooms booked. I don't typically write reviews, but this hotel has SOME MAJOR improvements to do on safety and customer service. POSITIVES: Decent location. Walkable to many nearby shops and restaurants. Bed was comfortable and room was spacious. Valet was quick, within 17 minutes, but disorganized. NEGATIVES: 1) Too pricey. Too many hidden fees and taxes (over $128) on top of room rate. 2) Customer Service. Was advised upon check in to provide my AAA card for discount to be applied, which I did. The individual who checked me in stated the number was already added to my reservation (my AAA number wasn't added to my reservation). I didn't push the issue over a $40 discount. I was not advised of any hotel amenities, on site food or beverages or the "surcharges", extra fees or "discounts" that I should have used or inquired about. How can I inquire about something that I know zero information of? 3) Customer service and Safety. I was abruptly woken up by a person knocking repeatedly on my door at 7am. Before I got to the door, it opened! The door was latched, thankfully. It was a male stating "you called me" and he was there to "repair the bathroom." After repeatedly telling this random man I didn't call him or need a repair, he still insisted while holding up a cell phone to show me his call log (?). I told him we didn't call for repair and shut the door. 4) Upon checking out later that morning, I was not asked how my stay was. I advised the front desk what had happened with an unknown or identified male who entered my room. They said "we apologize." I asked them if they could tell me who opened the door to my room and the reason for this person's entry into my room? The front desk clerk stated, "it was one of our engineers and they were at the wrong room at 7am. I can see it in the logs, they were supposed to go room 'X'". I thought this was strange bc room 'X' was a COMPLETELY different wing on my floor and the room number was NOT similar. I told them this was not safe and luckily I had the door latched, and it shouldn't be customary that ANY STAFF just enter a hotel room at 7am while people are sleeping. The front desk clerk apologized again, but the apology didn't change my feelings regarding lack of safety at this hotel. 5) Bell hop is disorganized and poorly communicated how our bags would be delivered to us. The lobby was PACKED full of people checking in and out, so it was not clear of how bags could be retrieved without asking staff several times of what to expect and where our bags were. 6) I booked a standard King, but was sent an email prior to my arrival that my booking was updated to a superior king. Which included plush robes and amazing view. The email also stated, "We look forward to welcoming you to The Dagny and providing the impeccable service we pride ourselves on." I received no robes, had a view of a yellow brick building,did not feel safe and received poor customer service. Overall, we encountered numerous issues during our stay. For a high priced hotel in Boston. too many questionable issues and concerns. We do not recommend staying here and we will not stay here in the future. read more

This is a beautiful hotel. The room was super clean and freshly remodeled . The location is centrally located and close to wherever you need to go in downtown Boston . The staff was the best !!!!! Hansel assisted me upon check in and definitely takes pride in what he does ! He went above and beyond to make sure all my needs were met . Great job management for hiring Hansel and for running a top not establishment . I will definitely be back and I will tell all my friends and family to stay there . Highly recommended . There are few hotels that care about the service instead of the credit card charge. The Dagny reminded me how things used to be - when hotels took pride in their service. The staff was friendly. There was even a doorman. The rooms were clean and felt high-end. I always appreciate when they have nice soap in the bathrooms / showers. The concierge checked on you throughout your stay. The location was great walking distance downtown. They had a great bar and café at the bottom for coffee / breakfast. I'd love to stay here again. read more
