Wrong Demo Last weekend, my wife and I were Boston for a wedding. We stayed at the Moxy Hotel. It was well-located in the theater district and a seven minute walk to the Four Seasons, the wedding venue. The rooms were a vision in budget chic. The major design motif was untreated, distressed, unpolished recycled concrete. When overpasses and bridges are demolished to make way for replacements, the discarded concrete must be catnip to the Moxy interior design team. They cannot seem to accumulate and deploy enough of it. Hipster-like in all ways. The dimly lit hallways feature concrete on the ceilings and floors. A real money saver. Who needs wood or carpeting when there is plenty of distressed concrete to go around? The room: Yes, concrete abounds again on the ceiling and floor. Don't need much as the room is about the same size as a compact SUV without cup holders. There are no closets, drawers or credenzas. We got three hangers. I had to use one for my tuxedo; I graciously offered the others to my wife for her attire. There was one easy-to-assemble round table and two chairs. One was an arthritis chair: if you didn't have arthritis before you sat in it, you would upon getting up. It was low as sling shot and I needed a hoist to get out of it. We relegated it to as our laundry area. The hotel, no doubt anticipating our every need, thoughtfully provided a laundry bag to accompany this chair. We used the other chair as a staging area for our daytime gear. We named it Wrinkles -R-Us. Part of the walls had an ersatz wainscotting, perhaps in an effort to soften the impact of the stained concrete everywhere else in the room. There are 10 pegs (not hooks), on the walls, some which we used for sleep wear and underwear. In no time, our room looked like a freshman dorm room with a roommate who never cleans up after himself. The bathroom: More concrete. No pegs (where one might hang a shirt or robe), but instead there were short, horizontal pipes, not distressed this time, which precariously kept the towels aloft. There was a aluminum stool, again recycled. We could never figure out why we would need a stool in the bathroom. Maybe to hold any falling towels? The door: it was a sliding door, much like you'd find on a barn. Never really closed. Best for couples married for decades whose privacy is largely optional. The toilet. I thought you'd never ask. The lid kept falling, slam! Such a charm for the middle of the night bathroom needs. We developed a strategy to sit up (or stand up) and grab the lid prior to flushing. The good news about the unstable lid is that prevented the wavering towels above it from falling directly into the toilet. The restaurant was on the second floor, so when we had to use the restroom, we went to the third floor. Upon exiting the elevator, we were greeted by a floor with furiously repeated black and white cross hatching design, obviously reminiscent of Ketamine. To keep things consistent, we were also welcomed by a deep purple flashing light. An acid trip, without the vocal and guitar stylings of Jimi Hendrix. Oh yes, the bathroom. Or bathrooms. There were choices. There was Gender Neutral and All Gender. I went to the All Gender first to see what impact it might have on my gender. Nothing. On another occasion, I went to the Gender Neutral. Also no change in my gender status. Both of these bathrooms offered the same, standard fixtures. I did not want to ask the front desk about their differences because I didn't want to seem like an out of touch, grouchy senior. Obviously, if you know, you know. I did not. Concrete and Ketamine. Not my demo. If I know of any itinerant dating app founders who want a crash pad in the theater district, I will recommend the Moxy. Overall, though, we managed to have a good time and lots of laughs. read more

For my first time staying at a Moxy. This may be my new favorite. Conveniently in Chinatown and the theater district yet still conveniently near boston commons and walkable downtown The location couldn't be beat. At check in I received two drink tickets and a card for my $35 per meal card from the bar/restaurant which I appreciated. The first three floors were open to the public but beyond that, a room key was needed and only operated for your floor which made me feel secure. The room I stayed in was small but well thought out in how to utilize the space with an entire wall of pegs across from the bathroom as well as the pegs under the tv holding the table chair and hangars. There was alot of street noise through the night which they had provided a noise machine to help offset. I travel with earplugs in my sleep kit so it wasn't a problem. After checkout I spent sometime in the lounge and bar before the show I was going to see. The space had working areas, dining areas and very comfy cushions and would definitely be a place I would spend time in if I were staying more than one night. The one issue I saw was that the parking garage is about 2 blocks away and was also fairly compact to the point that some cars would have to intentionally take up two spaces because otherwise the spaces were too tight to get in and out of the car. read more

I love Marriott, but I was slightly disappointed with this stay. The bar was a letdown--they didn't have the ingredients for a simple rum punch or even soda. I was told they hadn't received their delivery yet. I ended up sipping on a not-so-great rum punch and then tried to force down a Pepsi... which I unfortunately don't like. The room was cute, as expected, but I was really hoping for a view and that didn't happen. At checkout, I was told they'd make sure I had one next time. I was stuck in Boston for another night and decided to switch to CitizenM--and I'm glad I did. Overall, the aesthetic was still on brand for Moxy, but the experience didn't quite live up to expectations. read more

I had an okay experience at the Moxy Downtown Boston. First, it is in a good location. It's close to bars and restaurants. The staff was friendly and professional. My issue was that I had no heat on my first night and couldn't change my room because the hotel was sold out. I turned the heat up before I got into the shower. When I got out of the shower, the HVAC was blowing nothing but cold air. I slept in my thermals, socks, and a beanie. I woke up congested and coughing. I have asthma, so breathing in cold air all night wasn't a good idea. The next morning, I was able to get another room, but the damage was already done. Luckily, there was a CVS on the corner where I was able to get some items to help me with my cough. Oh yeah, as I was returning from CVS, the fire department showed up because the elevators malfunctioned. I wasn't about to walk up 16 flights of stairs, so I went back out and got something to eat. When I came back, the elevators were operational again. You are given a $35 F&B coupon to use in the bar/restaurant. It works out that if you buy a hamburger and a soda, you have spent $35. The Moxy is not for older, seasoned travelers. It has a very young Gen Z vibe. read more

Great Central Hotel in the Heart of Boston. Right next to Boston Commons!!!! Walking distance to several Charlie Trains.... Boston has it down when it comes to Public Transportation!!! Driving is a nightmare! It is a Micro Hotel so the rooms aren't big but it has everything you need.... Including a Private bathroom!!! We received a $Food Credit so Breakfast or our snacks were covered... Staff were very helpful and friendly!!! The only downfall was it can get noisy on the street below and it echos up.... We are by Tufts Medical Center plus on the weekends people are Partying on the street and cars and motorcycle are revving their engines. So the Weekends are a bit rough Also beware of the hidden "Resort Fee" that were charged after we checked out. This comes directly from the Hotel and not by the site you booked your room! read more

The room we had was incredibly loud due to street noise from 10pm to 3am - I'd never recommend staying here to someone else for this reason. Everything else was okay. Our room was on the 7th floor and overlooked the Thai restaurant for reference. We did not get good sleep Wednesday through Saturday nights because of the noise. read more

Not worth it. I booked one night because it seemed like a great deal for under $300 in the downtown area. Turns out they charged an extra $100 for a reservation fee, another $100-something for taxes, and $40 for "security". It's like i paid for 2 rooms! Didn't notice the charges until checking in. So, i thought ok, it is what it is. Then told them i need a wake up call at 6am. They called me at 7:07am lol. This place gets nothing right. Overpriced (scam if u ask me) and plus it's very gaudy and cheap feeling for the price u pay. If I would've known, I would've booked an amazing room down the block at a five star hotel, and it would've ended up the same price. read more

The Moxy is in a great location and has a fun vibe but when you get to the second floor and find out there's a $35 per night amenity charge, the fun stops there. It wasn't listed when I booked the room. They give you a $35 voucher for each night that you can use in the bar/food area but 2 drinks for $34, it didn't feel like a "perk" and the bartenders aren't the friendliest. You can only use in one transaction so if you only get a Pepsi, it was a $35 Pepsi. Up to the room, quirky, no refrigerator, decent view with floor to ceiling windows and had what you needed plus ear plugs which I thought was strange until you find out that your room is not even close to being sound proof. All night sirens and horns! I didn't feel comfortable wearing ear plugs to sleep so got very little. There was a sound machine on the other side of the bed, turned it up for the second night and it worked great for 90 minutes at a time! Towels were small and thin. 100 percent would not stay there again when the Marriott is a block away. read more

If you're looking for a clean, trendy and comfortable room, this is a good choice. The vibe is very cool. The location is great, too. So, 4 stars for just a place to stay. With that said, the peripherals leave much to be desired. The parking situation is confusing, at best. The food situation is even more confusing, mostly because the staff wasn't/isn't very friendly or helpful, at least not on the days we were there. Our breakfast order, from a very limited menu, was done incorrectly and had to be redone. The breakfast tacos were very good, though. The front desk manager, once she got involved, was great. What a wonderful experience! First and foremost, what a shocker when I checked in and received 2 ($35) meal vouchers and a drink ticket to use during my stay! What an awesome perk. And the food was delicious! The room itself, was enough space for myself - no complaints. Loved that they had a foldable table and foldable suitcase stand to use. The decor was beautiful! A mixture of woods and metals. The rooftop was lovely with a nice view of Boston. Located in the heart of Chinatown it was within walking distance of multiple train stops and bus routes as well as restaurants and shops. All in all a wonderful experience! This was my first time in Boston. The hotel is really nice and close to everything. I like the Moxy brand. Room clean and spacious with the view of the theater area. Got a complementary drink. Bar and restaurant staff were pleasant The bad. security knocked on my door around 3 a.m until I answered it stating noise complaints. I was asleep. When I went to the door I didn't hear any noise in the hall. I was traveling solo and it scared me because why?. There were lots of younger groups in the hotel but I didn't hear or had any issues with them. I called the front desk and got a gaslit answer basically saying it was routine. read more

Great location. I don't like that there was no valet and that the parking was whatever I came up with in either the public parking deck or the street. At night the street is very loud. They do put a noise machine and ear plugs in your room to help with the late night noise. There is a destination fee and you can use it as a credit for drinks or food in the hotel bar. It's your typical urban upscale Marriott: compact layout, minimalist decor, and concrete walls/ceilings . The room was clean with a good shower, but street noise was loud all night even on the 12th floor, which suggests weak soundproofing . With fees and taxes, it came to $300 for a weeknight in shoulder season. read more

Skip this hotel. I've stayed at tons of Marriott's and one other Moxy hotel and this place is not of the caliber it should be for the price. Super loud from street noise and had a really hard time sleeping both nights. Bedding included like a half comforter/blanket that wasn't really a full comforter with no backup blankets to be found. Bar and restaurant service were the worst of the worst. Day 1 service was slooooow despite there being no one else present. Bartender seemed more interested in socializing with other staff than actually working and then there were flies all over the food. Nope. Never even got our food after using our "voucher" on day 2 after waiting for 45 mins and asking what was going on. There are plenty of other hotels for you to pick from in Boston and I strongly suggest you do that. Very disappointed in Marriott. read more

I wanted to rate with 5 stars, but there were a couple things I have to note that push me to give the Moxy in downtown Boston an "ok" rating. I got a corner room with a nice view, but it also happened to be an accessibility room so the door had this interesting mechanism where it would automatically bust open upon key entry, stay locked open for several seconds, and then shut. If you try to pull it shut on your own, it's like playing tug-o-war! The room was definitely on the "cozy" side, meaning it was like a studio loft and meant for one person to move around in without too much issue. My only issue with getting a good night's rest was on the Friday night of my stay. A group of "hooligans" decided to have a dance party right outside the hotel at 2am and I was forced awake due to the noise disturbance. A limo was blasting music while people were dancing around it. I was definitely not happy at all, but when I called the front desk, they didn't do much to help and in fact, dismissed my complaint as if I shouldn't complain, given that it was a Friday night and that the hotel was "near a bunch of bars and clubs". I was taken aback by this attitude and this definitely influenced my lower star rating. Fortunately in the two nights after I didn't face issues with noise. The imposed "destination fee" is quite a drag...yes, you get a $30 credit each night of your stay to spend on food and drinks, but if you don't want to get your food needs met at the hotel, it can feel like a waste of money. I did manage to use it for breakfast on my last morning, and had some decent breakfast tacos, but I did not appreciate the ample amount of plastic waste right outside the hotel restaurant...instead of being lazy, they should for sure offer silverware and plates for in-dining patrons, and not just give everyone to-go cartons for their food. It was not even 10am when I saw the garbage right outside already full to the brim! Moxy hotels definitely bring a sense of style and feeling chic, but I found it to be overpriced for some of the things I experienced. There's also plenty of hotels in downtown Boston to choose from, so do your research beforehand to help decide what's best for your needs and what fits your priorities. read more

Great location. Surrounded by plenty of good eats, and things to do. More than likely you will be parking at the beach street garage which is about a 5 minute walk away. However there are parking spaces in the front so you can unload your bags first, which I wish I knew Before lugging them through ChinaTown When you walk in your greeted with an event calendar, we were disappointed that the Sunday DJ night was not happening as it said on the calendar but no biggie. We definitely want to come back and experience one of those events. 2nd floor is home to the front desk, as well as the bar. The customer service at both the bar and the front desk were good but nothing to write home about.... I will say we had an issue with our toilet not flushing when we got to the room as well as our key reader on the door dying, but they got someone on it and it was fixed right away. You do get a $35 voucher for each night you are staying, and coupons for free drinks. (as you do pay an equivalent resort fee each night) you can then vouchers use towards meals or drinks, but it can only be applied to one bill. This was nice as we had planned to have a meal and some drinks at the hotel one of the days we stayed. Admittedly the signature cocktail and the fig pizza were DELICIOUS! The rooms were very small and quaint. They had floor to ceiling windows... speaking of ceiling what is with the hostile cement ceilings!? Lol. They provide earplugs if you're bothered by the city noises or maybe if you're on a lower level the music may bother you. Overall I would love to stay here again, but I am young and enjoy a "quirkier" hotel experience, and I can see how it's not for everyone. read more

The best thing the hotel has going for it is its location. The Moxy tries to be edgy and trendy, targeting a younger audience. This is evident throughout the hotel, from the entry/decor to the shitty pop music piped throughout public areas. The hallways on each floor are dark and dank. it feels like to stepped into a bad 1950 noir film. The rooms are very small. My partner commented they feel like furnished storage lockers. There is 0 storage in the rooms, no mini fridge, no safe, no dresser or any kind of flat surface/counter tops to set things on!! everything is exposed. what do you do get are a bunch of hooks on the wall where they provide a hanging table and a hanging fold up chair to assemble in an already cramped space. If you want to hang up any clothes, there are a few hangers on hooks up on the wall for you. The TV in our room didn't work. The food here is really bad. If we had to pay for our meal we would have been pissed, but as Marriot Bonvoy members, we received 2 $35 food vouchers. If other Moxy hotels are this bad, we will not be booking with them again. read more

The rooms are cozy and very simple. Everything you need without extras. The gym was clean and had plenty of equipment. My room was off a busy street and there were plenty of horns and emergency vehicles all day long. The windows do not block or muffle the noise. Definitely recommend using the provided ear plugs or wearing noise canceling headset. read more

I enjoyed the hotel. I liked the vibe and appreciated the decor and location. While the young lady who checked us in on Tuesday afternoon was professional and very caring, we didn't get that same feel from other staff members. The staff in your "restaurant" that night didn't know the menu or the operation, and having to eat all the way down by the check in desk was a let down. They appear to be promoting "saving the planet" practices, yet there were no plant-based items to eat at the hotel - and one of the reasons we selected Moxy was that their imaging implied that they would have a sensitivity to non-meat items and sustainable practices, and those of us who embrace that lifestyle. They did not. We requested another towel and wash cloth at the front desk on Wednesday afternoon. We had not received it by the next day, so I returned to the desk on Thursday morning and it arrived two hours later. The lack of this basic courtesy was disappointing as well. We stayed for 1 night at the moxy as I got this on my points and hotel was very close to where we had to go for the night. The service and check in process was seamless. I asked for an upgrade, however there is no room upgrades. Only floor upgrades at the moxy. We stayed on the 17th floor with nice views of Boston. Moxy is a very simple hotel. The rooms are literally the size of my closet with the smallest beds. All of the furniture are foldable and hung on the walls. Thankfully we only stayed 1 night, did not even stay 24 hours. The staff also provided us with a $35 food voucher (which we used for our breakfast avocado toasts) and 2 free drinks at the bar. Overall, would I opt to pay and stay here again with my hubby, likely not. But with points, sure. Also they offer free coffee, hot chocolate and donuts! Definitely nice touches! read more

I travel a lot for business and have the opportunity to stay in a wide variety of hotels. Marriott is always a good option where I know what to expect. Knowing that The Moxy is a Marriott property was excited to try it out. Maybe I'm too old to stay here. Maybe I'm not their target demographic. Overall it was not a comfortable stay. The aesthetic is very industrial, lots of neon, bright colors, dim lighting, and cement. The environment itself is LOUD. Not people talking loud, but like walking into a club. When I got to my room the "loud" expectation was reinforced by a white noise machine and earplugs on the nightstand. The room itself was clean, modern, and had a nice view. There was a bed and a chair and that was it, as there wasn't space for more. They did have a small fold-up table and chair hanging on a wall, but I didn't use them. The bed was VERY sparse. There was a flat sheet and that was about. No real blankets or duvet. Nothing to keep you warm or make it feel plush. Overall, I don't think I'll be staying here again even though the staff was nice and the space was clean. read more

I was looking for a hotel with a fair price for the Boston marathon weekend. I was running the 5k so I wanted to stay closer to the Boston Common and this was a couple blocks away. Check in on the second floor. Quick and easy. My room was small, very boutique. No fridge. No tub just a shower. Plenty of towels. The table and chair for the room hanging on the wall. The bed comfy. My tv wasn't working but they sent someone and got it working. I had tried to turn it on from the tv and even that wasn't working but they came and fixed it. Great floor to ceiling windows. They have a bar and food area on the second floor. I was given coupons for a drink or bottle of water and both times I tried to use it they were out of water (I don't drink alcohol any more.) The biggest downfall was the nighttime noise. You can hear the cars with the crappy exhaust all night long. Check out was fast and easy. I was able to drop my bag at the desk and go watch my friends run the marathon. I'd definitely stay here again. read more

They added many hidden fees to the reservation. There is a "destination fee" that was not clearly stated at the time of booking. If I had known this, I would have gone with a competitor. They said it would be a hold of $75 a night, and my total fee came out to $163. I booked a double bed on a third party and paid the extra for the upgrade, but once I got to the room, it was a one bed. Also, the slide out table did not work, and I was worried it would be taken out of my deposit. read more

The best part of this hotel is the location. Has very much of a hostel feel, with tiny rooms and few amenities. Our room had no carpet, no table or chairs, no closet, and no microwave or refrigerator. If you plan on ordering food in or bringing to your room, you will have to eat on the bed. The bare cement ceiling is evocative of a jail cell, and from our location on the 6th floor the street sounds below were very loud. Earplugs came with the room, which provided some relief. Due to the cramped size of the room, if you are over 5'5 and 150 lbs navigating the room will be a challenge. For what we paid ($350 US per night) we were given hostel type accommodations. The front desk clerk was nice, and the location to attractions was excellent. read more

. I never stayed at a Moxy. Chose for appearance online of room and handy location between Green line Boylston and Orange Line Tufts Medical stopd. But the room is small, (not the first modern small room I've stayed in) and lacks necessities i want No table, desk of any size. (Use 2nd floor tables, loungey space.). Tiny and tinier built in night tables . I can deal with the pegs on paneled walk as substitute for a closet or coonin hotel room furniture. No clock or radio. A shelff anywhere would help. Positive aspects including nice shower, hotel amenities for all the unfortunate aspects of room furnishing and design don't make up for me, conventional room fixtures. No room fridge or microwave. No ice machines or buckets. I will have to go to front desk for a ration of ice Will hold bucket and bag of ice from 7:Eleven in next block of Kneeland St I'd even much rather be at "Yotel" for clever compact pleasant room. read more

Not for me, not my style. All the negatives you heard from others, small rooms, concrete everything, no King beds and the beds are low to the ground, boxed meals, dark. Add to that, in and out parking is about 8 blocks away in Chinatown; luckily it wasn't rainy during my stay. The positives, the bar had entertainment. A great jazz quartet, 7th Sun (or was it 7th Son) played 7/15 and I would go see them again. But I wouldn't stay at the Moxy. read more

I recently stated at the Moxy Boston Downtown during Memorial Day Weekend. This is my third time staying at a Moxy and as per usual it did not disappoint. This Moxy is very centrally located, right around the corner from Boston's Chinatown, and just steps away from Boston Common and the subway entrance. The hotel and room were very clean and comfortable, the hotel has a very fun and hip decor. Although the rooms are on the smaller side, which I was already expecting, they have the room setup in a way where you still have walking space and can arrange extra pieces of furniture as you wish, such as the foldable chair and table that was provided. Our room was available upon our early arrival which was nice to be able to check-in and settle quickly into our room after an early morning flight, before heading out to the city. The staff at the front desk were very helpful, particularly Jay upon check in. Overall this is a great hotel to stay at, I would stay here again! read more

Moxy hôtels have become my go-to's when travelling in the USA and abroad thanks to their fun atmosphere/decor and nice bar/cafe area that is good for socializing or doing your own thing. This downtown Boston location is close to my work so I pop over for lunch or post work drinks pretty frequently. I love the chill and comfortable look with plenty of seating options and plugs for computers. The menu is somewhat limited but overall very tasty- especially the Naan pizzas and grilled cheese pictured here. Cocktails, food, and bottled drinks from the convenience area are pricey but standard for Boston/hotel and quite good. Love this spot and hope to check out some of the many events/specials they host at the later end of the week! read more

When deciding where to stay during my time in the Boston area, my mind instantly went to Marriott since I'm a Bonvoy member and they usually have a wide selection of their brands in major cities. The Moxy stood out to me for several reasons - the modern theming, location in downtown Boston, and good reviews all played a role in my decision to stay here. Like most of my hotel reviews, I'll break this down into pros and cons - so here we go! The biggest pro the Moxy has is its location - it's in the heart of the theater district in Downtown Boston, and you can easily walk to several of the attractions in the area. Boston Common, Cheers, Omni Parker House, the North End, and the Waterfront are all within walking distance. The theming is also a pro - it's a mixture of funky and industrial with lots of neon, pink and black accents, and exposed cement walls/ceilings. I feel the hotel caters to the younger crowd, though I saw guests of all ages during my stay. Amenities are another pro - when I checked in I received two free drink vouchers to use at the hotel bar and three free meal vouchers (I'm assuming one for each night of my stay). They also host a lot of parties and events here both in the bar area and on their rooftop - the elevators have a calendar with all their events - I was really impressed with everything they had going on. The hotel is also large - 23 floors with a rooftop area, I didn't get a chance to go up but I can imagine the views were great. For cons, I would say the rooms weren't my favorite. I kept my expectations in check knowing the type of hotel it was, but still the room was a little too small for my taste, and a lot of the stuff was foldable (ie the table and chair) with little room for them if unfolded. The bed wasn't really comfortable, and it was too low to the ground (along with the toilet). I take it for what it is, as I feel the room kinda fits the aesthetic of the hotel - it's just not 100% my aesthetic. Parking can be a con depending on how you look at it - there's no valet, and if you want to park you have to use Tufts Medical Center Garage down the block at a $40/day rate. It's better than no parking, so I really can't complain. To close, I need to give props to the staff - everyone I interacted with was really friendly and enhanced my stay. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Moxy - it's a cool hotel with a lot of amenities in a great location, and I would definitely consider staying here again when I return to Boston. read more

The hotel was good - they give you vouchers ($35/night) to use at the bar, food, etc. during your stay. Hotel was very trendy, cool and smelled great. Location is FABULOUS; walking distance from a lot of cool tourists areas. Rooms are extremely small, so be prepared to get comfy with the people you are traveling with. Also our room was extremely loud between the sirens and night life. Unfortunately there is no refridgerator in the rooms so that was a disappointment as we were going to Boston for all the good food. I am giving it a lower rating because a week after our vacation, we got charged an additional $35/night for a "desintation fee", on top of what we paid for our room & taxes.... whatever that means. That was not all communicated to us, which is extremely disappointing. I called when I was asking about this additional charge and the receiptionst let me know what it was for, and I polietely told her that they should be very upfront with their customers about that and she got rude and defensive. Not sure if this is the same across all Moxy locations, but I will definetly be keeping an eye out in the future, as I have never stayed in a hotel that does that. read more

I liked the location and fun style of this hotel. It's in the theater district and close to Boston Common, lots of restaurants around. (Try Tatte bakery and Cafe, so good). Anyway, we got in really early, so we stopped by the check in desk (on the 2nd floor) to have them store our bags. They were actually able to get us in the room right away! That was really nice and we appreciated it! When we checked in, we received a coupon to get a welcome drink on them. Plus, we got 2 cards for $25 worth of food and drink at the restaurant on the same floor. We took our card and grabbed breakfast right after we took our bags to the room. The room was cool, it really needed a chest of drawers to store clothing, there wasn't a closet or even any place to put your clothes. That was weird. The bathroom was nice, very stylish. We had a corner room with a city view. One thing I want to make sure to mention is that I thought we would be able to see a nice city view from a high floor, but each day I would go up and see a note saying that the overlook was closed. On our last day, I asked an employee and he said that it hasn't been open in a long time. What a disappointment, the glass (and condensation) made it difficult to get a photo, would have been really nice to go out on the balcony. read more

Moxy is not my go to Marriott property, but it is a very good choice in Boston. Stayed again earlier this month and love the location, great for walking anywhere in the city with quick access to the T as well. Steps away from Chinatown, the theater district, Boston Commons, Newberry St. etc. The hotel is better than the typical Moxy being in a modern glass tower vs. a 4 or 5 story cookie cutter. If you score an upper floor, you'll likely have great views of the city. I was upgraded to a nice high floor corner room this time, so extra room and outstanding views of downtown and Cambridge. I'm not going to get into the basics with Moxy as a brand - you know what to expect and they are consistent, so if you can look past some of the "idiosyncrasies" (like your room table folded and hanging from the wall, etc), you'll appreciate this property. read more

Rooftop bar, location right in the heart of things- what more could you want? Rooms are small, and the noise from the street did carry even up to us on the 19th floor, but other than that the Moxy was great. Both the rooftop and standard bar were absolutely lit on the weekend, and the room was clean with a spacious bathroom and shower. Staff were friendly and helpful and check in, bar and breakfast service were all quick and efficient. read more
