Love the Verb! We respected it because we are huge music fans, wanted to have a centralized location to romp around Boston, and to attend a Sox's game. This location fit the bill a short walk to the green line, lots of food nearby, super for the Sox's game. Loved a stroll through the Fenway victory gardens nearby! Next time I am staying backstage in one of those awesome trailers! Our room was on the smaller side but we had two queen beds and it was comfortable for the three of us. We enjoyed getting different records each night. Overall we love the vibe of the Verb. Great free breakfast, lovely small pool and love the Japanese restaurant and all the records. I honestly don't understand the positive reviews. This hotel price gouges during events in a way I've never seen before. While we were checking in, we overheard the front desk changing a room rate down to $600 per night because, as the employee put it, "our prices were insane." Let that sink in**. $600 was the discounted price.** They had been charging over $1,000 per night simply because there was a concert in town. That's absurd. The hotel itself is basically an old motel with a fresh coat of paint. It's clean enough, but the old, dingy carpet, outdated feel, and cheap finishes make it feel like a budget roadside motel trying to pass itself off as a boutique hotel. Their biggest "luxury" amenity is a record player in the room, which feels more like a gimmick than anything else. Parking was the biggest disaster. Before we arrived, we specifically called and asked if parking would be available because we knew there was limited capacity due to the concert. We were told yes. We arrived literally five minutes later and were told there were no spots left, forcing us to pay over $300 in parking during our two-night stay. To make matters worse, as we walked to our room, we watched them valet another guest's car right in front of us. Nobody had left. A spot didn't magically appear. They told us it was reserved for special guests. Sorry my assumption for paying your outrageous prices for this motel was that I would be included in this special guest category. (update special guests were for the trailers they keep in the back) What made everything even worse was the staff's attitude. Customer service was nonexistent. Yes, the location is convenient, but Boston has countless hotels in great locations. Do yourself a favor and book literally anywhere else. This place is an overpriced, dingy motel with a boutique price tag and some of the worst customer service I've experienced. read more

In September 2025 four us visited Boston to watch some baseball games at Fenway Park and selected the Verb Hotel. The Verb is rock n roll / music themed that includes records and record players in each room; pretty interesting and nostalgic. We had two rooms with a view of the pool without balcony. My room was clean, smelled good, and was well-decorated. The room included all of the basics. The second room had a horrible sewage smell coming from the bathroom. We reported the issue to the front desk, and the staff member claim it would be repaired upon our return from our outing. Unfortunately, it was not resolved. The included breakfast hosted next door was very good. In addition, the breakfast staff employees were excellent. read more

In town for a concert at Fenway/MGM, we booked this hotel because it is an easy five-minute walk from the venue and about $100 per night cheaper than many nearby options. The property has a fun 1960s vibe, with music front and center, turntables in every room, and a big selection of albums to choose from. Once you get past the all-black hallways, the rooms themselves are a good size, very clean, with effective HVAC, relatively quiet nights, and one of the better-designed hotel bathrooms, including actual shelf space for toiletries. Staff were solid, and the included breakfast is more substantial than the typical "free breakfast" offered by many hotels. I booked this hotel through Airbnb not really knowing what exactly to expect. It EXCEEDED my expectations. My husband is a huge music fan and was blown away by this hotel. The entire staff was incredible! Externally helpful and kind. They were a blast to talk to, especially Cisco and Carley! We loved all of the music memorabilia around the hotel, and the record players in the rooms, SO COOL! The entire hotel was aesthetically pleasing and being right next to Fenway so just so cool. Super cool hotel full of rock n roll history and memorabilia. We were worried that it was would really gimmicky and kinda lame but it's anything but! So much has gone into making a cohesive image from start to finish. The lobby feels like you just walked into a rock star's home, the rooms are like backstage rooms at a show. You can borrow albums from the lobby to take back to your room to play on the record player. Everything was really clean. I loved that there's a small fan in the room so we didn't have to play fan sounds on our phone. We aren't breakfast people so we didn't take advantage of that. I didn't appreciate the partiers loudly returning to their rooms at 1:15 am. I was here for a week, and this happened on more than one weeknight. If I ever return I will reserve a trailer. Eat I am vegan, and my options at breakfast were above-average. I went for the waffles and the banana muffin. They also had some decent fruit. Hey, Verb, how about some hot and cold cereals (with non-dairy milk, please)? Mirian always welcomed me with a smile on her face. I popped in for a night while working late and after celebrating with coworkers. As comfort goes, it's not much different than virtually any other hotel. However, the music vibe sets the place apart. This is my first time at The Verb Hotel and I can say from the first day that it will not be my last. Michelle, Chris and the Front Desk Team were all amazing and made our stay so comfortable and heart warming amidst the pretty cold November weather in Boston. The warm welcome as they check us in, to the farewell and invitation to stay with them again as we checked out. The housekeeping staff were amazing as well as they maintained and kept the room clean and well supplied. The hallways and corridors were spotless and well maintained. The hotel is kept clean everywhere. The room have TV, vinyl record player where you can play vinyl records free of charge and you can borrow as much vinyl record as you can from their vast collection at the lobby. The room also have a fridge, flat iron, and safety deposit box. The hotel have a parking lot and valet service, a heated swimming pool, free bottled waters, and they have their own bar and a Japanese restaurant named Hojoko. Highly recommended. This hotel was so amazing and cool. I was gagged when I walked inside. I love the vibe and decor. The room was spacious and clean. You get a record player in your room. The have breakfast included. You pay an amenity fee when you arrive. They kind of tell you at the last minute. That's the only con. But it's worth it, if you're staying for a couple days or more. With the fee, it includes breakfast, unlimited water, pool access and you can play records in your room. A few records already come in your room, but you get more in the lobby. The Verb Hotel definitely has a.vibe. The hotel, formerly the Fenway Motor in and then a Howard Johnson's, has a unique look inside and out. The location is a stone's throw from Fenway! The hotel has "groovy" decor with rock & roll and pop artifacts sprinkled throughout. Every room has a turntable and your stay includes the ability to borrow any record from the collection in the lobby. There is also complimentary hot coffee & cold brew, as well as bottled water. Breakfast (included) is served in the adjoining restaurant. Items available included smoothies, muffins, hard boiled eggs, cereal, and waffles. We ate outside and enjoyed the lovely weather. The pool is not huge, but it is a lovely oasis in the middle of the city. The rooms have comfortable bedding. We had a standard room, but there are upgraded rooms such as pool view and rooms with a patio facing Fenway. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. We came as a family to support one of our own in running the Boston Marathon. The Verb is cool and funky and a great location. We loved the Elton John room with a balcony we had. The entire staff was continually friendly and helpful. The highlight of our stay was the after party from the race. Thank you to the rock star of the hotel Gabby for securing an area for our family to toast Nicholas in his life goal to run the Boston. The beer truck and music out front were so much fun as well. They serve a breakfast in The morning. Waffles, yogurt, bagels, cereal coffee, juice and hard boiled eggs. Nothing special but nice to have included. The price was steep at $500 plus $68 park and $32 resort fee. But the closeness to Fenway was perfect. No Ubers needed. Very good location. There is a Japanese restaurant attached to the hotel where you can get food and drinks. Only downside is they don't open until 5pm. So We did not get to try. It would be nice if it opened at noon. To have drinks and food available poolside. This is Not a 5 star hotel as you might think from the prices. I think the prices might be better on days when there's not a Red Sox game. What a wonderful hotel. Very nice staff! Everyone friendly and accommodating. The pool area was very clean with many comfortable chairs. The rooms are stocked with a record player, robes and the lobby provides free water and all the nitro coffee you can drink! They have a nice continental breakfast in the morning. Just walking around the hotel and seeing all the music memorabilia was amazing with a huge selections of albums to choose from and bring back to your room. It is also right in back of Fenway Park so it was easy to walk to the game. We were exploring and saw they were installing air streams in the back. The guys working on them have us a tour and we were able to go in one of the new air streams. Absolutely love this place, the vibe, the accommodations and staff were top notch! My family and I stayed at The Verb Hotel in Fenway.... It was incredible!! The funky decor and musical inspired theme made it such a fun experience. I absolutely loved all the small touches like the record player in the room and the silly puns throughout the hotel. We all especially loved the memorabilia and photos of the celebrities that were all over. I loved the outside area with the yard games. It was beautiful. You can even stay in an airstream if you want to. How cool is that?! The staff was so friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was perfect for my crew, plenty of choices for everyone! This place exceeded expectations. I booked a stay to help my kid move into his dorm at NU, which is a short walk across The Fens park (not Fenway ballpark) from this locale, and it made the whole trip much more pleasant and interesting than it would have been if I'd stayed at a more generic/impersonal hotel. As many other reviewers have noted, the decor is really well done with a fun and often clever retro music/concert theme. There's an attached restaurant/bar that provides breakfast in the morning (included in the hotel price) and offers a wide range of Japanese-ish and American comfort food at night. The staff were all great - friendly, helpful, and honest. Metered street parking is very limited but free at night, and reasonable during the day, if you can get a spot. The room was very clean and comfortable, although be aware that if you're near the pool it can be pretty loud in the evenings (even in winter!). There's no gym but they have an arrangement with another hotel around the corner and I think you can use their gym for free (I didn't). Other amenities include robes, unlimited bottled water, mini-fridges and coffee machines in the rooms, and hot and cold coffee on tap 24/7 in the lobby. Breakfast options are tasty and abundant, including smoothies, pastries, cereal, fruit, and made-to-order waffles, with attention to gluten-free and other dietary needs. The only negatives for me were the coffee, which was not good (but typical of Boston, TBH), and the very high cost of on-site parking ($73/day), due in part to the proximity of the ballpark - which is why I mentioned the street parking option above. Other than parking, the room rates are incredibly reasonable and far less than other options in the area. Thanks to the staff for a great stay! read more

Such a cool hotel! We stayed here in January to crash after a show at the House of Blues. Every person that works there was super pleasant. Love that they provide free bottled water! They also gave us beanie hats since it was very cold out that day. The pool is heated so you could still go in, even in the cold. I did not partake in that but a lot of people were! Love that there is a turntable in each room and you can borrow records from up front to play. Also the shower has a hole in it so you can put something outside of it on the sink...like a beverage! This place was so cool! For a motel/hotel this place was charming and is a Musicians dream. They even have a Yamaha acoustic guitar and a Fender Strat that anyone can walk up and play. When we walked in Ella took care of us and called us shortly after we were in our room to make sure our accommodations were acceptable. Which they were. During our stay, we wanted to watch the Phillies game but couldn't get it on our TV. We talked to Chris and he tried to see what the problem was and tried to find an alternative option for us. This was possibly the best hotel stay I've ever had. The property is amazing, cool and funky stuff everywhere you look. But what really took it over the top was the incredible staff. From the second I arrived they were so kind and welcoming. When I checked in they had already put some records in my room that they thought I might like - one of which was Paramore, one of my all time favorites! I was there in the winter and pool was heated and had great ambience at night. The real cherry on top is the free nitro cold brew on tap in the lobby! I couldn't get enough.
