I was extremely disappointed with this service. They advertise that they have tools to disassemble furniture, but in reality they aren't equipped to handle anything more complicated than Ikea furniture. They gave up on moving my couch after they couldn't figure out how to get it through the door, and they CHARGED ME for the time they spent failing to figure it out. They tried to pressure me into signing away liability so they could take risky moves with the couch. And when that didn't work they just gave up, leaving me to hire another service. Their movers are unprofessional and inexperienced. It takes more than the ability to carry a box to be a mover. Their inexperience turned what should have been a small move into an 8-hour ordeal. I had all my stuff packed and laid out for them to simply carry, but every time I would check on their progress I was shocked at how little they managed to get done. After all of this, their proposed resolution was a credit to my account, as if I would ever use their services again. The process of working with customer service to reach a real resolution might have even been more frustrating than the move itself. They don't put their customer service number on their website for a reason, it seems. Getting them on the phone to discuss my issues was near impossible, but all the while they kept sending emails saying my customer service issue was solved and asking me to rate the experience. You're better off going with an established company, rather than these cute little startups that trap you with easy online setup. DO NOT BE FOOLED. read more

Clutter is by far the worst moving company I have ever interacted with, hands down. I have moved many times, and Clutter takes the cake as #1 worst mover. First, they never told me that they do NOT ship items in storage outside of the San Francisco area. I had to have another moving company come to their storage unit, pick up my stuff, and ship it again. Very costly, very misleading! Second, they lost two of my boxes (with all of my bedding and pillows), and completely shattered my TV screen. I called them multiple times and emailed with Kendall on their Trust & Safety team. They would not hear my requests and denied my claims multiple times. They will not even hear my side, nor review my case. This review is just for the delivery portion of my moving/storage experience with Clutter. Everything went super smoothly. The team who moved my 30 odd boxes in less than an hour were friendly and efficient. The only reason I deducted a star was for misinformation I received from the automated texting service, which informed me around 6:40am that my team had begun driving, and would arrive in an hour or so. About 20 minutes later, they were 13 minutes away. Maybe their gps didn't account for traffic changes, and I shouldn't expect it to, but a a result, I arrived to the site 10 minutes after they did. They were super chill about it though, and the move itself went great. They even reassembled my bed without my asking them to. I'm happy with this side of my clutter experience. Part 2: My second delivery of items to my home went quickly and smoothly. I don't recall the guys on the team, but I've attached a photo of them. Part 3: I had my last bunch of boxes delivered to my art studio today. The ability to split up my belongings and have them delivered in different trips to different locations is a service I very much appreciate about Clutter. As with my other delivery experiences with Clutter, the team was punctual, friendly and fast. I had Vicente, Najee and Antonio for this job, and they were great. The ONLY thing that caused me some stress was again, the timing of the text updates. The window I chose for my delivery service was 8am-11am, and while I am grateful for Clutter's punctuality, I am someone who values every minute I can get asleep in bed, so when I received a text at 6:00 am that my team was in their way, it was a bit disconcerting. They called me at 7:50 to let me know they had arrived. It's great to be early, but when there is a 3 hour window, I appreciate having some flexibility within that timeframe. Each time this has happened, however, and I've met the team 10-20 minutes after they arrive, they haven't been put out in the slightest by it. Luckily, all of my deliveries took under an hour, so even with my lateness, we were well inside the allotted window of time. I don't know how scheduling works with these teams doing multiple jobs in one trip, but if each client is given a 3 hr window during which they can expect the team to arrive and complete the job, it would be great if there was something like a 30 minute grace period for the client to meet the Clutter team. Perhaps this could be offered if deliveries are under a certain size-- 15 boxes or less, for example-- so the completion of the job within that timeframe would be guaranteed, even with a slight delay at the start. Just a thought! Other than this small detail, I have been very satisfied with the storage and delivery aspects of my Clutter experience. read more

I generally don't write negative reviews but this was one of the worst moving experiences we've had and we've moved several times in the past 2 years, even from LA to SJ. We used their services to move out of our apartment on 9/30, then stored our stuff with them while we stayed in an Airbnb to wait for our house to be ready. To start, they broke our $2800 brand new TV. They also broke furniture and other items while moving and storing my stuff. I emphasized they be extremely careful with the very expensive 65" OLED LG TV, but alas, when I unpacked I found a break in the glass and the TV not functional. They did a really poor job of packing and storing the item, as they only did bubble wrap and put it in a cardboard box. The tv was free to move inside the box as there was nothing to cushion the space. This was not the only frustrating thing. While they were packing my items to move into storage, they dropped 4 boxes. One of which had my photos and frames and all the glass broke. One had an artwork that I bought and the canvas tore. This box was not reimbursed when I filed the claim because I did not let Clutter pack it. BUT, there was another box which Clutter did pack. And it had lamps and when it fell off the truck, the lamps broke as well. Then when I received my items, I found 2 furniture items, broken--I believe one was the item that fell, but another one was broken mysteriously as well. These two were packed by Clutter--so much for that I haven't opened all my boxes yet, but I'm sure I'll find more items broken. Besides broken items, they disassembled our dining table but didn't tape the screws to the table and now they're missing so we have to go buy screws to put the table back together. Their business model is also really stressful--they charge you $65 per hour per mover, and the send some of the slowest movers! There was one guy--Troy--who was in my bathroom for 45 minutes! And of course I got charged for that. My husband had to help move and pack because we didn't want to be charged way too much--for what turned out to be really shitty service. And then they take their time wrapping everything and over taping everything--and they still BREAK THINGS! I recommend everyone not to use this service. It sounds like a great idea, it sounds convenient and affordable, but it's been a nightmare for my family to have so many broken items and such poor service. They hire inexperienced movers and they expect to be paid at such a high rate and still move really expensive items. Avoid at all cost! My blood pressure cuff melted. My bag disintegrated. I was seeing this power residue and it was my bag. A lot of my clothes faded on each other because of high temperature in the storage. Oh my gush, there was rat shi! for days. You should see rat shi! ! My kitchen things, clothes, books, papers, kids toys, etc all had to be thrown away because of rat shi!, mold, and discoloration. Ok, the way the set the claim up is for you to find a store online that list your item for the price and if you cannot find the item they will only pay you $1 for your item. Yes! You heard that correctly. And, on top of that they charge you over 400.00 to remove your things from the storage, even if you go get them yourself. And, do not forget that is over 400.00 plus the monthly payments that they were deducting. Those high reviews are either payed, self reviews, or not real customers. Oh, the rats did not just lived and shi!!ed in my thing but they also had a feast on whatever, clothes, shoes, bags... whatever. Oh, my shoes and leather coat gone. The heat did a number on those. My boxspring and mattress both had large what looks like water strain on them. As, I unboxed my things I couldn't stop crying. They gave me a 1 hour window when they were to arrive both for packing and unpacking, and they were on time both times. The packers were very slow, but without even asking, Clutter reimbursed me for $500 of the packing charges. The unpackers were super fast and skilled.
