Do NOT use Bekins AMS or Wheaton for a cross country move. They will damage items and lose/steal boxes. They are borderline criminal. Insurance is pretty much a scam and you won't get anything back from the damage and losses you incur. And definitely check off every single box before they leave. They'll make up an excuse to leave quickly before you have the chance to make sure you have all your boxes. Moving is a big life event. You cannot trust this company for a big move. I do not recommend Bekins | Yolo Transfer. They were very irresponsible with my move. They lost a few boxes with valuable items and some personal belongings that are very hard to replace. They damaged the two doors of my new house, a few items were broken and now they are declining the liability. As I will take further legal action but I hope they can solve my claim ASAP. I have previously reviewed my move with AMS Bekins with a 5 star rating, but upon delivery I will amend this to a one star. The pick-up was fine and performed by what I assume to be a Bekins crew out of San Francisco (CA). The delivery was done by a owner operator who hired a crew here in Dallas (TX) - she knew none of them and they appeared to be some local hands for hire. And with that my main concerns started at delivery. The crew delivering were hired by the owner operator - she did not know any of them. I had a complex move with piano and this crew had no idea how to approach this. The driver (owner) provided some guidance. The second was when I started noticing missing or broken items. The driver insisted to pay on the spot in cash with video recordings - all OK I guess, but it turns out the issue is more complex. Bekins expect the driver to pay out of their pockets ( apparently not insurance) and then it impacts their ratings also. So now you have a double problem in that the driver wants to lock in any costs as well as limit their future earnings - assuming it is tied to their ratings. This is dishonest and frankly a disrespect to what I contracted Bekins to perform. I WILL STRONGLY RECOMMEND AGAINST USING BEKINS AMS or any of their affiliated services. On a move that costs more than $14k to then go about ducking and diving for less than $160 in total claims is a disgrace and not a company you want to move your house and what you care about. read more

They were amazing. Super detailed and careful when they were packing up our house, a bit too careful. They wrapped up little legos in paper, a Vaseline container in paper, a towel, etc but I appreciated it. It's better to be over protective than have all my things break. They were pretty quick and my final price was not tremendously over. Every time we've moved in the past, we ended up paying thousands more but this time it was very minimal. The guys were really nice and friendly. We had some difficulty getting the 18 wheeler in our new house but they rented a small uhaul truck to go back and forth, which I knew was a total pain but they did it and still had a smile on their face. It was also 100 degrees out, not a complaint. I would 100% recommend them to anyone I know. They were awesome! read more

Last minute the operations guy (who was NOT helpful) calls to confirm the move and tells me that they are going to pack and drive on the same day, delivering the next morning. A loading crew member stole my ATM card and engagement ring out of the bedroom closet where I put them to keep them out of the way while the house was crawling with loaders on moving day for our move from San Mateo to Seattle. After they left, I discovered my ring missing, and while I was frantically combing the bedroom rug for it, thinking I must have dropped it, I got a fraud alert from BofA that my debit card was being used in the East Bay. Then I realized that I was robbed by one of the movers. How did AMS Bekins handle it? Lots of lip service the next day when we heard from them, lots of "this is not who we are, we're sorry, we'll get to the bottom of it", then radio silence. Three weeks later, we still have not heard anything from management. The only word we had from Bekins on the progress of their investigation (?) came from the poor DRIVER, not management; when he delivered our stuff to us a week later, he told us they know which guy did it. Okaaaay. So what are they doing about this guy? We filed a police report with the San Mateo police, but I have no hope of ever seeing my diamond again. How was the move itself? Average. The stuff all got there, a few things damaged beyond repair, but that's par for the course with interstate moves. Honestly, everything surrounding this move was horrible. Shockingly poor communication and customer service - we had to leave multiple voice mails and emails to the coordinator to get our questions answered and the answers never came in a timely manner. These people are the THE WORST. We chose Bekins because they moved us cross country 30 years ago without incident, but then, my employer was paying for the deluxe package. AMS Burlingame office staff never gave the impression that our business was important to them. This was a truly bad move all around, and I will be reminded of it everytime I look at the ring finger of my left hand and not see the diamond that was put there 40 years ago. I can't express my gratitude for The Bekins AMS team. Dylan, Jana, and Andres and I want to say Daniel but for some reason I'm blanking on his name were perfection. I definetly was a little guarded when I read the yelp reviews of other's experiences and even mentioned it to Dylan who reassured me I would be well taken care of, and I really was from start to finish. Jana was so organized and took care of all the paper work, on on Move Out Day Andres and his partner were impecable. They wrapped and took all the furniture and boxes out of my studio in less than 2 hours. Unbelievably organized and experienced team. 2 Days later everything arrived in Irvine safe and sound. We needed 2 extremely heavy and big items (a large firepit and a 7.5ft x 8ft mirror) moved that our previous movers said they couldn't handle. Not only were the items super heavy, the mirror was a super tight fit through all the doors that it had to traverse. I called almost a TON of movers to see if they could handle something so specialized, and AMS Bekins was the only one that said they could and had the availability. Dylan was my main point of contact with Bekins, and he was really detail orientated - he asked me to take measurements of everything to make sure the mirror would fit, and recommended putting the mirror in a crate to keep the mirror safe during transport. They literally built an entire crate to shelter our mirror during the move! I was super impressed, and everything went really smoothly. The crew clearly was experienced and had good teamwork (it was really obvious compared to the previous movers we hired for our residential move). AMS Bekins might be a little pricier than some other moving companies, but if I highly recommend them! Especially if you have some sort of specialized move that normal/small moving companies can't handle. read more

AMS Bekins came well recommended from a friend and generally good feedback online, but our experience unfortunately did not live up to expectations. Conversation on the front end was all very courteous and professional. We were assured the premium we were paying for their services was because they employ everyone in house and do not contract out any of the work. We were also assured several times that the charges would not exceed the final estimate. On the day of the move the packers came grossly underprepared with materials. We had to run out to buy more boxes at the last minute and Bekins charged us $700+ over our estimate for additional supplies with the threat that they could not continue packing until we paid them. Our driver told us that the delivery was going to be arriving late because of problems he was having with his truck that meant our stuff would be sitting in the truck for a week before even leaving the state. The delivery ended up arriving late and on a holiday (after much discussion in advance about how to arrange the pickup so that this would not negatively impact the delivery). We were offered $40 in compensation by Corporate for the delivery being late for a move that cost $20k. The movers rushed through the unloading, putting boxes anywhere they can find (presumably so they could be done working early on the holiday) and not putting back together many of the things that were disassembled by the packing crew. The management crew from AMS Bekins went completely silent once they received our payment and after presenting our concerns with the whole process as well as numerous broken items and damage to our neighbors properties from the moving truck, still no response from management or corporate. If you're going to get cheap service with poor communication and logistics, please at least get it from a company that offers a cheap price or just do it yourself and avoid the hassle. read more

This is just a fair warning for anyone else who is thinking of using Bekins for a cross-country move - get the most expensive insurance offered and keep your inventory papers! Maybe even make your own inventory. My initial consultation in Oakland was fine. The packers and movers and the guy who was the lead mover in Oakland were pretty great. But then after that as someone else also said here "it was all downhill". They were mostly just pretty bad about communicating - I think because they outsource to local moving companies and are coordinating with so many different moving parts. I had to keep calling to find out my delivery date and window in Brooklyn which is such a headache when you're moving cross-country and really wasn't sure who my main contact person was at that point. This is also not my first time moving cross-country. I've had a better experience with Altair but I also had the most expensive insurance with them because I moved with a company. My very expensive bike never made it onto the truck from California to New York. I did storage for a few months before shipping my stuff east and I've seen other people say to be careful what you store in their warehouses. I'm not sure if and when it got stolen but that seems the most likely answer. However, because I only got the insurance that is 60 cents per pound - I only got $12 for my claim of $1000. BEWARE WHAT INSURANCE YOU CHOOSE. My bed slabs also didn't initially make it but luckily they found them on the larger truck. Glad they did because I wouldn't have gotten any money for that. I also ended up with someone else's loose shelves as a bonus - I hope that person got the better insurance. I had a pleasant experience overall with AMS Bekins. I was referred to them by a previous moving company that I used about 6 years ago for a move from NY to SF. I needed to hire a mover for my move from SF to LA just now. The previous company could not accommodate my move and thus directed me to AMS Bekins. Dylan arrived at my home to do an estimate and ended up going with them in the end. Sandra from the office was helpful to with coordinating logistics with the inventory pick up. The movers themselves Andres and Daniel are very professional, accommodating, and pleasant to work with. I don't know who is posting these negative reviews but when the previous company who I used for a cross country move (who provided excellent service) refers me to AMS Bekins only to have four different people from the company give me an overall pleasant experience, I think that speaks volumes. Please learn from our negative experience with this company and steer clear of them. In my opinion, they are either incompetent or dishonest - neither of which are good or acceptable. At the very least, get EVERYTHING in writing from them and watch them like a hawk - because in our experience they will try to go back on their promises and add additional unwarranted charges onto your bill. We had a big cross country move to make. We had AMS Bekins send out a representative to our home to provide an estimate for our move. He was free to spend as much time as he wanted and look all over our home. In the end, he provided us with a written estimate. It was higher than other companies, so we asked for a written guarantee that it would not cost us more than the number he gave us (a number they themselves called, seemingly simply enough,"not to exceed.") He provided a "not to exceed" number, in writing. Once we were locked in with the company and they had our items on the truck, they started trying to charge us more than the "not to exceed" price. Luckily, we caught them trying to do so, and called them on it. They stammered out excuse after excuse, but kept trying to trick us into paying more than the "not to exceed" number they had provided in writing. Again and again. For amounts large (thousands) and small. On the afternoon before our items were set to be delivered to our new home across the country, I guess they got tired of being subtle and we received a threat: agree to pay more than the "not to exceed" number or they would not deliver our items as promised, would send everything to a warehouse, then charge us extra to deliver them later. I mean, what do you do at that point? They have all of your stuff, you are in a hotel in a new town and helpless. So we had to pay more than the "not to exceed" number they had agreed to in writing. We complained to AMS Bekins, and when that was futile, we complained to Bekins corporate headquarters. After an investigation, they insisted that the seven individual times they tried to charge us more than the "not to exceed" price were each, individually, innocent mistakes (funny how the mistakes always worked to their benefit, not ours!) I think they either purposefully or incompetently provided us with too low of a "not to exceed" number and, realizing their mistake (not that it was very low - believe me!) they tried continually to figure out a way to get to a higher number. Moving is stressful and hard enough without having to deal with this type of thing. Our realtor told us that other clients of his had similar experiences with this outfit. Bekins moved us from the Bay Area to San Diego, and I must say we had a good experience. The estimator, Jim, was the most thorough of all the estimators (we got 3 estimates). The driver, Miguel, managed the process smoothly. The packers, William and Edward, were both very helpful and careful. The whole process was exhausting because, ... well, moving is generally a stressful time. But the movers did not add to the stress, in fact they helped reduce it. I had a cross country move from an apartment in SF to an apartment in North Carolina. I got quotes from different moving agencies and decided to go with AMS Bekins - as all the prices were about the same, but AMS was the most thorough. I worked with Dylan as we did a video call of what I had to move. I live in a walk-up apartment with stairs in the city, and would drop off at another apartment in a downtown location in NC [I needed shuttle trucks on both ends - lots of touch points of my stuff to get from point A to point B]. Jana helped answer all questions I had throughout the moving process. The packers / movers were friendly and efficient. The drop-off movers were again great. I double-checked the count of items together with the movers. Everything arrived fine, on time, and I paid what I was quoted. Looks like some people had a bad experience, and I think it all depends on luck of the draw for people you get, same with any moving company. So here are some things that I did to reduce my risk level: 1) I packed 95% of my stuff myself. 1) I asked about when the "van line" would be moving across the country. I then coordinated and booked my pick-up / drop-off dates, so my stuff wouldn't go into a warehouse. 2) I asked a lot of questions about the move and had them to be included in the quote (stairs, shuttle vans, packing, estimated pick-up/drop off date, etc). 3) I mentioned a few times I was paying for the move myself, not expensing to a company. [There are no deep pockets here if my stuff is lost/stolen] 4) I generally hung around the movers during the move, had casual conversations, tried to be personable, offered a bottled water/snack + tip at the end. They never called back on first contact or relayed critical details about the move to other staff, told us they would arrive at 9am showed up at 8amI told Darrin what was needed and he quoted something completely separate, consequently we paid a huge amount for 24 Pcs of furniture and 1/2 the house was never moved we had to do it ourselves and it cost us time and resources we did not have, BIG MISTAKE, NEVER AGAIN, the guys who showed up were very nice but the job was not what we asked for or paid for. What a disaster. Despite a no liquids, no chemicals policy (and in violation of California laws) their packers packed the following: Open containers of ammonia in the same box as open containers of bleach (two separate boxes they did this) Open containers of food: pasta, sugar, cooking oil - even though they were told NOT to pack food. They even packed a rubbermaid container filled with flour - by shoving the top into the container, and putting another rubbermaid container inside as well. What's the problem you ask? These boxes are for long-term storage. One of the packers seemed to speak English, but one of them clearly didn't. Obviously the English speaking packer wasn't translating for the non-English speaker. We've placed several calls to the AMS office asking to speak to someone who can do something about this. We've gotten a call back from the sales manager, who sent an e-mail (at my request) summarizing our call - only it didn't summarize our call. When I sent back my understanding of our conversation I got back nothing. So - we are seriously considering canceling the move. We have several other estimates, and a lot of incentive to go with one of the other movers. I'd avoid this company under all circumstances. read more

I'm so disappointed since my dad worked for bekins when I was a child, I've had such trust in their service until now! I'm the new owner of a home that bekins was hired to move the previous owners out. They caused minor damage to my new home and i was assured they would take care of it. It has been over a year now and after trying to get the damage taken care of since I moved in, they are now refusing to take care of it. From the beginning they have failed, but yet kept assuring me it would be taken care of. I would now NEVER recommend this business. Cameron was the sales person that assured the previous owner all would be taken care of but yet still to this day has not returned my calls, and Michael Foster, the store manager, refuses to stand up to do the right thing. Very professional from the first meeting to the unloading of the final box. I received estimates from many movers, from small independent companies to large ones. Jen took her time inventorying each room, and explaining how we could expect chages on moving day. The team was on time, took extra care to wrap everything, protect my floors, insure my belongings and get them unloaded and in the proper place at the other end. Very kind, hard working team. I received several quotes for my move and they weren't the cheapest but they were half the price of some and I can't imagine a better job. Agree with the review from Kristen K. Choosing Bekins for a move to Canada was a mistake. If you do choose them: 1/ Provide address and any advance notice requirements. The driver called on Sunday night and expect to deliver the next morning. That doesn't work for most high rise buildings. They won't do the research to do properly planning. 2/ Get a delivery date not an estimated delivery date. They have had 2 weeks now to pick a delivery date and haven't been able to commit to a date. 3/ If the estimated delivery date is longer than the drive ask what they do with your stuff. I've got 3 different answers as to where my stuff is and have no faith at this juncture that they know or are going to be able to complete the move. It's gotten that bad! 4/ Sales vs. Service. Bekins seems to be more of a sales organization than a service organization and know that they subcontract [ie Grace International] which makes matters even worse. read more

I can't recommend AMS Bekins highly enough. I just relocated from Diamond Heights in San Francisco proper, to north Scottsdale, Arizona. I had to hit very specific dates on very short notice, both for my move out of my condominium in San Francisco, and for my move-in in Scottsdale Arizona. Bill the estimator came to give me the estimate for my move. He was great, and turns out his estimate was spot on with estimating the weight and number of pieces that I had to move. More importantly to me, he listened to my needs and date specifications, and then clearly communicated back to me about what AMS Bekins could and could not do, which was perfect. Austin came next, who coordinated the entire move. Austin's communication was constant, professional, and spot in. It was clear Austin was working very hard to make sure I would be a very happy, satisfied customer - and his efforts worked - I am very happy satisfied customer!!! Last I want to call out and really complement Eric, Who not only was part of my packing and unpacking crew, he was the moving van driver who physically drove my stuff to Arizona for me. Eric communicated every step of the way, plus was always professional and polite - and really just a first class, Nice guy! Thank you Bill, Austin, Eric and the rest of the AMS Bekins crew! Very misleading practices. They will charge you for their employees *travel time* from their warehouse. Their packers were at our house for 4.5 hours, yet they tried to charge us for 8 hours. When I asked why, all they would say is "traffic". Two issues here: 1. They never told me up front this was their policy and 2. their warehouse is at most a 25 minutes drive from my house. Liars. After some discussion, they offered to take 1 hour off of their bill claiming that it took their drivers 1 hour in each direction. ha! The sad thing is I have used these guys twice before over the years and never had a problem. They must have had a "management change." Too bad they won't ever get my business again. UPDATE - Apparently reviews on Yelp get more action than complaining directly to the company. A "senior manager" saw my admittedly colorful yet factually correct review above and decided to call me to find out why I would say such things. Um, because it is true? To attempt to charge me for 8 hours when the packers were only present for 4.5 means something is fundamentally wrong. I can't prove it was intentional, but the bottom line is it did happen and to give me lame excuses (when I originally complained) like "traffic" just doesn't cut it and only serves to infuriate me. Anyway, it was a fair discussion I had with her. I pointed out that from her customer's perspective, there is no accountability in the way they charge hours and there should be. So I will add +1 star for the follow-up effort. Just wish they would have been more receptive to my complaint at the time of the complaint and not only after I publicly review them. UPDATE 2: The saga continues. I got a call from the person at the company who i originally complained to about the over billing. He repeatedly asked me what he could do to make me happy. I repeatedly told him "accountability". I got the feeling that he had no clue what I was talking about when i said "accountability". It's a simple concept really - make your process transparent to your customer so they don't feel like they are getting cheated, and more importantly, guard against billing "mistakes". The company representative restated a few times that "traffic conditions" can cause extended travel times. Each time I reminded him that they were not traveling during rush hour, and even if they were, it wouldn't take as long as they claimed (I guess he thinks they are the only ones who commute in the Bay area). Finally, I reminded him that the last time I talked to him, he promised me he'd review the time cards of the employees that did the packing, which never happen. He told me he would call me back. He left a message on my phone a day later telling me that the packers reported their hours on the time card to be 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM. How convenient, the original estimate was "8 hours". Of course, that doesn't jive with the fact that the packers were at my place from 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Someone is not being totally honest here. You know, if the company would just once say, "You know, I can see how from your perspective things don't look right ...", I wouldn't get so irate. But apparently they can't. Maybe they think both my wife and I are the liars here and are only engaging me because I wrote a public review. Maybe it is their standard billing practice to bill the estimated hours regardless of actual work done. Who knows. All I know is that every time I talk to them about the difference between how long I saw the workers at my house and what they tried to bill me, they always say the same thing, "traffic," which is the most bogus of answers possible. This firm has moved me two times, locally in the bay area. One smaller move (3BR) and one larger move (5BR). The most recent of which was in June of 2011. They did an outstanding job, and run a very professional outfit. No move goes without some small inconveniences, but these guys did a great job keeping their promises. If you get a quote, I suggest you explore a "binding price" which is different from a not to exceed estimate. For sure you should price out by the hour, not to exceed and binding estimates. They do very thorough site inspection and inventory of household items for accurate estimates in real time. Nothing was damaged in the move and they did a great job getting stuff down the stairs in my 2 floor home, without banging up the stairs. read more

The only reason Bekins is receiving any stars is because at least my belongings made it, well most of them. The move started off well with a professional coordination call with Cameron Eversole but it all went down hill the day of my move. Boris, my lead mover, shows up as planned on a Friday morning with one other person to help. He seems friendly enough but I'm immediately concerned when he tells me my move from San Jose to San Diego will take two days rather than the one I was quoted. I explained that is not acceptable since we had planned around this move (e.g. electricians coming on Saturday) based on the Bekins plan so Boris says he can speed things up by not taking inventory of my belongings and unlawfully skipping the weight scales on the I-5. I was later told by my move coordinator that was against Bekins policy However, upper management is now going back on this in my BBB claim saying sometimes inventory is skipped and there was a "misunderstanding" that Boris was explaining he was concerned he might be too heavy for the scales. That is definitely not what Boris said because my husband and I even asked isn't that against the law and Boris admitted it was but said he's done it before. Additionally, we didn't even come close to filling the truck (two bedrooms and a living room worth of items) so weight was not a concern. It gets better... I had an additional stop in our move and Boris arrives before my husband and myself. He proceeds to pack what he thinks should be packed and leaves before we arrive. When I called him to tell him he didn't grab everything, he starts yelling at me saying he's not turning around. I have to call my move coordinator to get him to return. When Boris arrives to our home in San Diego the following morning (he did make it at least), he mentions he's going to go to Home Depot to pick up a second person for help. He ended up not picking up casual labor but hearing that was concerning enough. Boris moved most things into our home until he tried jamming a couch through our doorway. It was bad enough the couch was damaged after that but he solicited my husband for help and his back went out because of it. I'm really glad I paid $3,500 to have my husband help him move. I had to tell Boris to stop trying to move out couch in because it did not fit and called it a day. Bekins nor Cameron never called to apologize for the move and in fact, ignored me after I reached out that Monday explaining what we went through. They charge $10/month for pmts by card-punitive. They're also late posting payments and their "access fees" (aka what I pay to see my stuff) are high. Ever since watching Legally Blonde and seeing the Bekins truck, I was sold. Actually, what sealed the deal was when I met my favorite person, Jim Diskin. He did my first move and he is a very detailed person. As I researched other moving companies, I felt Bekins was the right choice and I felt I got a fair estimate. The movers were all professional. This time around, I emailed Jim right away and asked him to come out. He came out the following week and gave me an estimate. I did get 2 other estimates and felt I was getting ripped off from the other companies. (1 estimate was low and one estimate was high - stating I had over 4000+ lbs more than what Jim stated) I told that other moving company you got to be kidding me!! (The person who came out spent 10 mins) I trusted Jim's estimate on weight as he spends the time to evaluate what's in your home (opening every cabinet door, drawer, etc.) and knowing that he was once a packer, he knows his stuff. Jim is honest and I knew in my gut I wanted him. He worked so hard to get me on the calendar and I ever told him I'm willing to pay extra for a guarantee load date (packing is done 1 day, then load another day). With the weight of my job, Bekins couldn't promise me anything so he contacted corporate but I got turned down. I wasn't going to take no for an answer and eventually was able to work it out with having my stuff sent to storage. Seriously, I felt like I was telling Jim, I NEED you & Bekins to do my job!! During the entire process, Jim kept me up to date on everything. He also called me during my move/load day to make sure everything went well. Who does that anymore? Once the sales done, it's done. Not for Jim. He genuinely cared that I got a proper pack/move whether from them or someone else. Move day: Tim, Jeremy & Reginald were such an awesome team!! I was so thankful that Bekins sent them (I called to tell Stacie that I want them to move it across the country!) The team was professional and moved as quickly as they could. Tim was so pleasant and fun to talk to. He definitely delivered a white glove service. You can tell Jeremy is a pro. Reginald took it for the team and crawl in the storage area to grab heavy boxes and etc. They were also so nice to my kids who at times were in their way. Everyone did get a sticker from them as a stamp of approval. Thanks Bekins for sending them!! When we come back, we want the same team! Late, late, late...late to pick up and late to drop off. When they picked up, they were coming from Idaho, and the driver had had gone over the legal limit of hours you can drive. So he's detained for 10 hours, causing them to arrive at 2.30pm (they are supposed to arrive at 7.00-8.00am, and one of their guys calls the day before to confirm it). Also, they promised four guys would show up, but only three did, and the best of it is that only the boss man doesn't actually move anything. The dilema is that I have to catch a flight to Munich, Germany at 9.00pm that night (great experience with Lufthansa, see Yelp review). I call a friend and will return the keys to the apartment the next day. They were very cautious however, and looked like they cared about my stuff. Everything goes fine after I leave, as well as the returning of the keys. Delivery is scheduled for Monday - Friday, but naturally, they come on Saturday. Almost nothing is broken or damaged; 1 bowl and a nick on a cabinet. Delivery was quite fast, too. Final price is yet to be determined, but I'm thinking a price reduction is in order. Two stars for the already resonable price and almost everything delivered safely. BOTTOM LINE: IF YOU NEED ON TIME MOVERS, GO WITH SOME ONE ELSE. read more

We just used Bekins for a move from South San Francisco to Moorpark, CA in October 2021. While moving 390 miles was stressful enough, we needed a reliable, trustworthy company to move our belongings with the utmost care and timely fashion. Bekins showed up as scheduled with moving personnel Chris and Ebarista. Everything was completed in just three hours. They both packed my belongings securely with packing material that took the worry about our delicate furnishings suffering any damage Their friendly personnel showed up right on schedule in Moorpark and Andreas Ramos did an outstanding job delivering and setting up our furniture. Nothing was damaged! It was money well spent and Bekins took the worry out of our move. I HIGHLY recommend them to others who are moving. Go with the best and don't trust companies that demand money up front. We had a friend who contracted with a lower priced smaller company who held their belongings hostage wanting another $2000 to finish delivering their belongings from California to Florida. I submitted a request for a quote last night. Bekins has called me 6 times so far this morning. 3 of the calls came one right after the other. Whoever was calling didn't get the hint when I ended the first 2 calls after 2 rings. One request should equal one call. OR even better one request should equal one email with a quote or a request for more information. I will not be using Bekins because I have no desire to constantly called by their representatives. read more

Bill Evans from Bekins was a lifesaver for a job I had. I had a large project where a big sign was being fabricated in Texas and it had to be installed in San Francisco on a certain date because of a big event with a bunch of VIP's attending. Both FedEx and UPS wanted too much money to ship this massive sign and there was no room in the budget for RUSH charges. I called Bill to see what he could do. Not only did he come in at a price that was in line with the original budget but he was able to get the sign to my shop on time. As a result I was able to deliver the sign to my client on time for a big event and the client was very happy. Bill made me look good and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. If Bill Evans and Bekins can do this for one sign I can imagine they do excellent work for more complicated moving. Thanks Bill! read more

I want to start off my saying Jennifer G was great. She was helpful through the whole process. She brought us boxes and tape which helped us out. This review is not based on her it's based on the company's ethics. It was clear from the start that they had a bridge to cross to get to my property. It has the weight limit clearly posted on the bridge. The single truck being used could have gone over the bridge but they weren't comfortable doing that. They decided to move everything out of that truck onto 2 smaller trucks. Costing me an additional 1,300. I tried everything to convince them to keep it on one truck. I even asked them to half the additional 1,300 with me but, nope it couldn't be done. I'm really disappointed. I feel I had no choice. I needed my belongings so they got paid. read more

Where do I begin...I was warned by friends that moving was incredibly stressful and now having just had the experience of moving our house of 43 years I can say it was the most stress I have ever dealt with. Thank God for Bekins. I had called around to many other companies and Bekins was top notch from the get go. They let me know that an agent would come to my house and take an inventory and let us know exactly what we would need and what to expect. Bill Evans showed up right on time, went into each room opened cabinets etc. He took his time and then e-mailed me the estimate. It was right around what I had expected. They delivered boxes to our door at no extra charge and the entire time Bekins checked in with us making sure everything was in order. Whenever I called Bill with a question he either answered the phone or promptly returned my call. The day before they packed the truck 2 men came to the house to help pack and thank goodness for this. By this time I was in a panic, almost catatonic, having no idea where and how to box all the stuff. They were fast, efficient, kind and labeled everything. The day of the move they were incredibly organized and I was really impressed how well they worked together as a team. We found some things that were hidden and without hesitation they boxed them up, no big deal. Last minute I asked if they could drop off a very heavy table at my sister's house two towns away. Not a problem. What I appreciated most about Bekins was that they kept in contact with me, were ultra professional and did everything they could to make a our move less stressful. read more
