I had to have a brief argument with the security of the building because they initially refused to let me move out my belongings on a weekend, that I had to talk with the property manager for a permission, which is ridiculous because u telling me i can't move my stuff out anytime I want? and I was told to move my stuff carefully to avoid damaging the building's floor. I am so confused because if that was a concern, the building should not have been used for a storage facility? As someone with experiences moving across cities and using various storage facilities, DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION if you want the flexibility to move out your belongings comfortably at any time. I have never have this kind of problem using storage until I used Stuf Storage at 115 Sansome St.

I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years but they no longer value my patronage. They not only raised the monthly rent multiple times (which is expected for inflation) but they also discontinued a discount that I had on my unit since they knew I would be a long-term renter. When I tried to negotiate a compromise, all I received back was pretty much a "Don't like it? Then get out." I hate businesses that don't keep their word. Very disappointed how they've become just like any other public storage location. =(

We sent our kitchen assembly instructions ahead of time to make sure they were aware. My overall sense is that Carlos is fairly capable and experienced but either his team or him are not as careful as we had damages to our finished wood toe kicks and our lacquer cabinets looked like they had been dragged over nails as they were being assembled. I didn't appreciate that they made 0 mention of it at all and I had to point it out. As the homeowner, I essentially had to baby sit them for 5 days through the install since it felt like they were incapable / unwilling to read the kitchen cabinet installation instructions in detail and I caught several mistakes early on during the cabinet assembly that made me hesitant to leave it unattended. Carlos's attitude was particularly bad through the entire experience as well. Always made it seem like we were inconveniencing him or being too nit picky even if we caught some mistakes. At one point, he even threatened to quit after the assembly but before the installation simply because he had underestimated the complexity of the project. We did have a 1 day delay due to some plumbing / electrical issues but that's pretty typical as far as kitchen cabinet installations go AFAIK. In the end, they were able to get all the kitchen cabinets installed, albeit with a lot of effort from my end due to the more custom nature of the project. The price was affordable and the work was solid (minus the scratches) but for me the bad attitude wasn't worth it.

We reached out to Steven and asked if we could see his trailer in person before committing to renting. He was happy to oblige. We went home and booked immediately for our August family camping trip. We loved our 4 days with the trailer. The convenience of not having to set up and break down a ground tent (in our case multiple tents) and a camp kitchen allowed us more time to enjoy the actual trip. Our Jeep Wrangler easily pulled the trailer up into the hills around Truckee from the Bay Area. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we would need to cook all our meals. Having a refrigerator was a huge plus and the solar panel remained fully charged each day with only a few hours of direct sunlight. We were notified 2 weeks before our trip that water would not be available at our campsite. Having the 25 gallons of water available with the trailer took that stress away of having to bring extra water for drinking and extinguishing our campfires. The bedroom has plenty of storage space for our clothing and toiletries. Even cubbies for my books. Overall, we had an amazing experience and can not wait for our next adventure

I can't say enough good things about Steven, Susie, and San Francisco Overland…read more Steven was engaged and informative even before booking, answering questions about the size of trailer (I'm 6'-6" tall and do indeed fit inside for sleeping), the size of the roof top tent (Cal King!), and the capabilities of the trailer. Once booked he pointed us in the direction of youtube videos that provided tutorials on the how the various trailer systems worked. He answered a number of additional questions about trailer capabilities and even provided a service to help find locations that fit our overlanding capabilities/desires. It was great to know that we had location options that were vetted and that we knew the trailer could accomodate. Check out was quick and informative. In addition to all the pots, pans, utensils, spices, etc. you could need, the trailer included little extras like freeze dried fruit treats, bug spray, cleaning wipes, and more. Because of the clearance of the trailer we needed to rent a hitch, and the one supplied was top notch (Weigh Safe). We definitely put the trailer through its paces, and without question it is more off-road capable than my truck. When we set up camp everything was in its place and good to go despite the bouncing and shaking and dust bath the trailer endured. The kitchen worked out great for us, although if you are not tall you might want to bring a small collapsible step stool to more easily reach the counter. The cooktop was clean and convenient and we had plenty of water for our three days. I was impressed by the electrical set up. 200Ah of lithium plus a 200W solar panel handled the fridge and water pump and lights with no trouble at all. Drop off was as quick and convenient as the pick up. Steven did a check of systems and items and sent us on our way. There aren't many overlanding trailers available for rent, and I'm appreciative of the opportunity to try one out as we consider whether its a type of rv'ing that will work for us. I wouldn't hesitate renting from Steven and SF Overland again.

**The TLDR summary** Wow. This company is amazing. Based on my personal experience over 3+ years, I would wholeheartedly recommend them. Excellent on customer service and quality of storage. They're pricier than self-storage options, but worth it to me for what I needed at the time. **For those of you who can spare a few minutes** Here's my best attempt at a summary without OD'ing: This company is truly amazing. And this is not a gratuitous misuse of the word. In my experience with Clutter, they have exemplified what excellent customer service is. Truly a rarity. I pray they continue working at such a level and I hope everyone has such an experience with them as I have had. I rarely take the time to write reviews, but when I've experienced something truly outstanding (or terribly horrendous), I feel it's my duty to share the good news (or send a warning). I moved in a scramble in the spring of 2018. What was originally meant to have been a short-term arrangement, turned into 3+ years of my items being in storage. At the time of the move, I was so lucky to have gotten the name, Clutter, from a friend who had just learned about the company. I've just recently (Nov 2021) transferred my items from Clutter to a self-storage facility, only because I needed to purge thru the items before planning for a move from the Bay Area to the East Coast. For the 3+ years that I've had my items in storage, I fretted that something might have happened to them. I've just unpacked several boxes I had stored in Clutter and was shocked to see that much of the linens and clothing still had a fresh laundered smell. Like, it's crazy!! I did a good job packing, but much of the credit also goes Clutter's system. They put all your items on a huge pallet and shrink-wrap everything. So, it's hard for anything to get into your items - like moisture, bugs. I'm SOOOO impressed, guys. Like. I neeeeeeeever rave about any company or service because most services are average at best. Yet Clutter has really stood out big time in every category (save cost - they're pricier than self-storage facilities). I'm so sad they're not East yet (they're not in Boston, at least). If Clutter were to remain as consistent in their service during their expansion as they have been in my personal experience, then I would never bother to move or store with any other company. My experience with them has been THAT GOOD. Before the mic drop, lol, I want to send a shoutout to both groups that helped me out during my initial move and final delivery of items. @Jefry, @Alex, @Kareem (Nov 2021 Team) I want to give a shoutout to the team that recently delivered my items (Nov 2021) - Jefry, Alex & Kareem. Thanks SO much, guys! You guys were awesome and so efficient! @Reginald, @Markieth, @Miekeo (May 2018 Team) To the team that initially moved me out (May 2018) - Reginald, Markieth & Miekeo - you guys saved me! Shoutout to both groups, they were SO amazing. A special recognition to the 2018 crew (not sure if they're still with the company). They really had nooooo idea what they were getting themselves into, lol. It was an emergency move that I was unprepared for, and they were so patient and careful with my items. From what I have unpacked so far, NOTHING is damaged or broken. Thanks, SO, SOOOO much!! @Clutter Team To the team that prepared my items for final delivery, to all the customer service reps that have helped me and answered all my questions over the last 3+ years, and to those working behind the scenes - thank you all soooo much! **Closing Summary** *Customer Service* Their Customer Service is THE best I have ever encountered with ANY company. Their attentiveness, responsiveness, availability, etiquette has been superb. *Quality of Storage* The quality of the storage has really amazed me. None of the items I have unpacked so far have been damaged and none of my linens/clothing have been ruined. *Cost* On cost, Clutter is more expensive than self-storage options, but they were worth it to me, given the circumstances under which I moved -- the help they offered, the novelty of their service with being able to see exactly what I had in storage and having the option to piecemeal deliver items if necessary, or have other items picked up at different locations without having to be present. 5 stars all the way! Clutter is awesome. I had no idea that there was any such company out there that really truly does it all for you. I was completely lost and overwhelmed I had sold the home that I had inherited from my recently deceased father and had no idea how I was going to get all of his and my belongings 2 storage unit without having access to a truck. I also do not live anywhere near here and so do not know anyone that I could ask to come help with a lifting or moving. I found cluttr well searching Google for storage units. To be honest I actually laughed I thought to myself this can't be true there's no way that they offer vehicle and Movers who come and actually inventory and pack all of your belongings load them into the truck that they bring and take it to the storage for you. That's right no talking no moving no lifting no truck rental no unloading. They give it all at no extra cost to you. I can't believe at 4 not much more than what you would pay for a self storage which if any of you have had one in the past are currently have one know that Self Storage not only is up to you completely to move and whatnot there's all kinds of things that suck or can go wrong. Your stuff is taken to a secure facility with very little access to your belongings actually the only access is 2 a select number of employees. The website could use a little work as far as how you make your order and inventory what it is that they're going to be picking up. Not everything is on their list so you're not always able to put exactly what it is you're restoring also I think that they need to find a way to let the customer know way more specifically exactly what to expect and how the process works. Other than that they contacting me by text first thing in the morning of my appointment to let me know that they were still coming and the names of the two people who would be coming. I continue to receive text message updates until they arrived exactly on time and a huge moving truck. They were very kind and we're incredible with getting all of my stuff secured and in their vehicle. Justin and Juwaun were my Movers. They were extremely professional and as I said we're here on time. They worked extremely hard and I watched as they diligently wrapped and secured each and every piece a furniture and box with my belongings and loaded it into their truck. I ended up having more stuff then I had been able to put on the pre order confirmation. They we're super kind and worked with me to get as much of it during this appointment as they possibly could. I will never again use a self storage. If ever in the future I find myself in need I will definitely be using cluttr again. I will also you telling everybody I know and letting them know to tell everybody that they know that if you are ever in need a storage clutter is the place to contact. That is unless you enjoy having to pack and carry and pick up all your heavy furniture and boxes not to mention have to bother all your friends and family who you don't want to have to come break their back or waste their Saturday picking up all your heavy shit or renting that truck or those family members having to let you use their vehicles just to have to get it to the storage unit and pick it up again then by all means go with one of those self storage units. Otherwise if you're like me and enjoy the Peace of Mind of 2 people coming free of charge and doing all of the work for you then you should call cluttr. They are amazing and I wish they had been around longer because all the times I've moved this is the only one that I can say because of clutter with a whole lot more stress-free. I would like to post a consumer alert to warn people about a very unethical company called Clutter Moving and Storage. My main complaints are that this company practices fraud, deceit and theft. The first instance started when the company representative gave me a hard quote, then Clutter changed the price without informing me, then the company charged my credit card exorbitant amounts (almost triple their original quote) without my knowledge. During the move, they failed to pick up my belongings as agreed upon leaving many items behind, failed to inform me of their business policies, left early and then tried to charge me for 3 pick ups instead of 1. I had to hire other movers to complete the job which I was not expecting. After that, Clutter attempted to hold my belongings hostage refusing to release them until I paid their extortion fees. They even threatened to auction my belongings if I refused to comply to their intimidation tactics. After I complained to the Board and District Attorney, they finally agreed to release my items. But then Clutter tried to make me sign a general release stating that I had no rights, which would include me having no recourse even if they stole or loss every item in their possession. Because I was aware of this company' shady tactics, I refused to sign the agreement without an addendum. I wrote multiple emails advocating for my rights because I knew the business practices of this company. This addendum stated that my belongings would need to be returned undamaged and in full which is the LAW. Two days ago, when my belongings were finally delivered, after 1 year of disputes, many items were NOT returned, Even large items such as mattresses, sofas, and full boxes were not returned. Thousands of dollars worth of personal belongings were not returned. Clutter either lost, or stole these items. Clutter now takes that stand they they will not do a thing about it, They say they will not make a single attempt to retrieve or compensate me for these items, They say that I have no rights. Even though the foreman stated that I should file a claim and stated that Clutter loses many items in their storage facility, which they find later, the Clutter support team told me that I have no rights to reclaim the lost or stolen items. They say I don't even have the option to file a claim. Clutter essentially stole or lost many of my valuable belongings and now says that I can't do a thing about it, nor will they assist in any way. Like I said, I wrote many emails stating that my items must be delivered in full and undamaged but Clutter has taken a hard stand to do absolutely nothing about their wrongdoing. Clutter is the shadiest operation I have ever dealt with and I don't recommend that anyone use them if they actually care about their belongings and their checkbook. Approximately two years ago, I rented a storage with Clutter in Walnut Creek CA. Clutter came packed my one bedroom storage and took it away somewhere in Hayward CA. I requested the storage to be transferred to me last month and here is what happened: 1) Since day one Clutter know that I have moved to SoCal and am not in their so called "Geo". No one bothers to tell me that they would not transfer my belongings back to me and I have to pay a third party to do so. My billing address was in SoCal; surprisingly enough, I called three times, a month before the anticipated time of delivery, a week before and 48 hours before the my drop off window and all the representative said that all I have to pay is the hourly rate of the staff when downloading my storage in my new condo in SoCal. 12 hours before my window, Jay from San Francisco office called me and said that Clutter would not be able to transfer my stuff and he offered that Clutter will pay a third party to delivered my belonging on the same time window that I had. All I was asked to do was to call and set up a truck to truck transfer time and location with the third party. Few hours later, Jay called and he said it was a miscommunication and I am responsible to pay for the transfer. He even offered me a company that would charge me $1500. Long story short, I flew to Oakland, rent a Uhaul, loaded everything in it, drove to SoCal and dropped off Uhaul here. a trip worth of $1000. DO NOT TRUST what these people tell you. They change their mind or hide information from you. 2) Almost 70% of my entire storage goods were damaged. I have not visited the storage even once! My storage should have been sitting somewhere in the storage. I was shocked to the point that I still believe they intentionally damage my goods for some reason. I had a protection insurance which covered up to $1000. They paid $1000 right away. But the amount of damage to my goods are more than $4000. I claimed about $2000 since those were the items I had a receipt for. 3) Today after I opened my last few boxes, I realized that my computer case, an HP Pavilion, is missing! The amount of information that I had on that computer were priceless. STAY AWAY from these people; they look professional at the beginning. At the end, there is zero quality and customer service! Clutter absolutely screwed me for my move and, unless you find it enjoyable for a moving company to cancel on you the morning of the move, I recommend you go with someone else. I had booked this move almost 3 months prior, I had received automated emails regularly leading up to the appointment, and I even called earlier that week to confirm (and received profuse assurances). I was scheduled for 7am-10am move-out with Clutter. I had got up early to receive them but at 8am the day of, I received an email that said they won't be able to make it "due to operational issues" and that they were unilaterally rescheduling my move to two days after. Stop and think about this for a second: you spend all week packing up your stuff. You've communicated the move-out date with your current landlord; they're probably ready to hand the apartment to the new tenants. You may have taken time off from work. And suddenly, your moving company sends you an email (not a call or even a text) AFTER your appointment time that they're not coming. Sorry! What are you going to do? How are you going to get your stuff out in time for the next tenants? Do you need to take more time off work? Where are you going to sleep for two days while you're waiting for them? Do you have clothes available or are they packed up? Clutter doesn't seem to realize that their customer's move is time-sensitive. Moving is a highly stressful time for people. It can't be pushed around like a casual coffee date. When a moving company says they'll be there, they better be there. Clutter does not seem to understand this. "Operational issues"? I booked my moving date many months ago and they were caught surprised? How could that be? When I tried calling them that day, they kept trying to blame me for not having my SMS turned on. That is such a weak excuse. Even if I had my SMS turned off (which I never found a setting in their website to turn it on), it is still their responsibility to call or email ahead of time to make sure we resolve the issue promptly. And again, I called earlier that week (4 days before) to confirm the appointment and I was assured everything was all set. This was not an acceptable experience and I wholeheartedly recommend AGAINST using Clutter for your move. Your move is hard enough. Don't take risk it with Clutter. read more

Beware of Clutter.com! What they fail to tell you is that when they say they will price match--they won't! More importantly, they fail to inform you that their storage space is only 4 feet high! So if you have a 10 by 5 by 6 foot storage, you need something 75 square feet to match which is likely more money. I am especially upset as they told me last August that the price for my new storage with them would be no more than $403 a month. Lo an behold they recently stole $700+ and $800+ from my credit card! I reached out to them on September 18, 22 and 26 for a breakdown of the money that they were trying to steal from me. Finally, today, I heard that my new storage was going to be $760 per month!!! This is more than double what I was paying before and nearly double what they told me and I agreed to pay late August (before I cleared out my 2nd unit). This is blatant "bait and switch". I have contacted an attorney. IF you do want to use them, insist on everything in writing and be clear if you are discussing square feet or cubic feet. One person with whom I spoke seemed to think that they were the same thing! Every time they came to pick something up, there was a problem. I really wish I would have investigated more before I made the mistake of using Clutter.com! The only good thing about Clutter were most of the guys. Only one crew was bad. I had a pick-up scheduled and it kept getting later and later so they switched crews and failed to notify me that they would be there earlier than what had been agreed to (2 hours late). Because they got there late, they were unable to get all of my items from my storage. They had to reschedule. Since there were very few items, the guys there and I told them to bring a small truck. Clutter did not and some guys came with a big truck. They refused to park in the driveway of my storage place and on the street. I took a day off work for nothing plus the guy accused me of being violent. I am 63 years old and NO ONE has ever accused me of being violent before! Overall, 4 out of 5 crews were good. Sadly, of the $65/hour that we pay to Clutter, their workers only get about $20 an hour. They finally came back on September 11 which means I had to pay an entire month of storage! They tried to just tape it and throw them into the truck, which will cause a lot of tape marks and bumps and scratches. I asked Daniel to wrap them a little before they do that, but he insists that he can not do it. It's the company's stupid policy. At the end I have to use clutter's boxes and moved everything into it. This is a stupid policy. what's the big deal wrapping my item around? Ask for them and together because they make a great team. My experience: Growing up, I moved about over ten times with my family in and around the Bay Area. Never once did we hire movers because of financial strain so I, as an adult now, associate moving with so much mental and emotional stress: from coordinating back and forth with my parents to getting sentimental as I pack aaand not actually packing. So when my cousin recommended Clutter, it was important that I wouldn't not get stressed. I expected upwards of $350 for packing and storage and tip, but for my situation, I was hooked with a $200 monthly rent for a 5 x 10 storage unit. The very few times you ever use movers or storage need to be seamless experiences and the farthest thing from stressful. Clutter made a great impression on me as a well-oiled machine, and getting better. Note: My time slot was pushed back into the next (from 11am-2pm to 1pm-3pm on 12/21) and I was offered to reschedule if I needed but my options were limited to after the holidays, and thus after my lease was up. I would understand being pushed back, considering it's the holidays and at the end of the month, I'm not the only one moving out a place. Complaint Details Date: March 21, 2024, @approx 7 am. Only two men arrived when I specifically asked for a minimum of 3 to help me move from a 3/3 bath home, even though I only moved one bedroom, dr, lr, and some kitchen items. You sent more movers last time for a small job (8 items) and less now for a more significant job (20+ items)? What a shame and a significant deliberate sham. Your pricing is not transparent, and you use bait-and-switch and predatory tactics. I do not value your dishonesty and price gouging while underperforming at best. You all wasted my day and interfered with my work. After calling eight times, I was still waiting for something to happen and for someone to help. Clutter lied to me and failed to help. None of my other home furnishings were moved as planned, except for one bed. The guys said they were not given enough packing materials despite my full and thorough inventory and walkthrough, which included pictures uploaded to their website. They quoted me a full 7-9 hours of work to move, and I did not agree to the exploitative time or price projection. They moved approximately 20 prepacked boxes/crates, packed at least eight boxes with my help and a bed, and then charged me $1527.38 (7.48 hrs total). They were not here that long. The movers arrived at 7:07 am but started the job after 9:30 am. THE DRIVERS TOLD ME THAT SINCE I DID NOT AGREE WITH THE QUOTED MOVE , A QUOTE THAT I NEVER RECEIVED PRIOR TO THE DAY OF THE MOVE, THAT THEY WOULD NOT START THE JOB UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO SPEAK WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE. That was their suggestion. I was told that I would not be charged until the job started. Customer service was closed and the drivers said they would wait until they opened for me to speak to someone at NO FEE. They lounged, asked for Tylenol and something to drink was offered. They relieved themselves, talked on their phones and other social media. They also took a 40-minute lunch. You have the nerve to charge me for that!!! I request a FULL refund. Every individual whom I've dealt with before (Customer Service), during (Department of Transportation LICENSED MOVERS) and prolonged storage (Customr Service) has been keenly receptive and responsive with clear straightforward solution to my specific needs. Within one's own account, bar codes with pictures of actual items are downloaded for the customer to view. I recently faced a challenging situation with Clutter due to their unreliable scheduling. My initial appointment was set for 7:00-11:00 AM, but at 9:19 AM, they rescheduled it to 11:00 AM-2:00 PM. The movers finally arrived at 1:16 PM to handle a one-bedroom job (packing and moving) that typically takes 3-4 hours. However, they had to stop at 3:30 PM because they couldn't work overtime which I found out when they arrived. This was despite having already shifted my appointment earlier in the day due to a previous client adding more items, which delayed my start time. Upon arrival, the moving team realized they couldn't complete my job in one trip due to prior delays caused by the additional items from the previous job. In the middle of this, their dispatch canceled my appointment while the movers were already present. The process of finding a new date was extremely frustrating and took 2-3 hours, accompanied by a lot of resistance from Clutter. This left me scrambling to extend my lease and figure out the additional costs I would incur. I had previously written a review praising the second set of movers for their skills which were great, but I must emphasize issues with Clutter's scheduling and customer service, especially after my claim was denied with it only in review for 12 hours over a weekend. While the movers themselves did an excellent job, Clutter's scheduling and customer service proved problematic and costly, with no acknowledgment of the mistake that heavily impacted my life. Today we used Clutter to put a bunch of our stuff in storage and it was an amazing experience. From scheduling our appointment to payment to customer support to the actual moving team, it was all extremely smooth. Clutter takes all of your items and moves them to a storage facility out in Tracy the size of 8 football fields. They put all your items on palettes so they're not in actual storage lockers. The team was extremely professional and very fast. David, the team lead walked me through the process and the team, Maane', Manuele and Brandon were all courteous and careful. They labeled each box and took a photo which gets uploaded to your account. If you have them pack for you, they photograph and itemize your things as they pack. If you need anything back from storage, it's just a $9 fee for them to deliver that specific item back to you. They carefully packed everything and they even had extra boxes and packing material at no additional cost. The best part is that because it's not an actual fixed storage locker, you are charged for only the volume of space you use in their facility. Everything is done online including payment, scheduling and cataloging of your belongings. Compared to an actual storage facility, we end up paying for only what we use. I highly recommend anyone in the city who doesn't have a ton of storage space to consider using Clutter. I've read a lot of comments about seeing the Clutter trucks appear around the city since COVID started, which is true. I started seeing them pop-up almost overnight. However, when I started looking to move, and specificity for a storage unit, Clutter was something that was populated on a basic Google search for me. I have only had storage unit experiences in the past, and having to move many times in SF meant I needed to move, myself. I'm sure every SF resident knows the stresses of moving, and because I didn't want to deal with all of that while moving across state lines I wanted professionals. Thus, this was my first experience with professional movers. I have to say I was just completely impressed. They constantly blew my expectations away every chance I assumed would be difficult. Their website was straightforward, to the point, and super easy to use. Their pricing specials honestly couldn't be beaten for the amount of space I required. My movers, Marlyn and & Javier were on time, professional, funny, & were incredibly patient with me. They took the time to take before/ after photos, carefully break down every piece of furniture I had, & were helpful when I asked questions about my plan. They constantly kept me informed on how much more space I might require, and assisted me with contacting support when I wanted to increase my insurance package. This team was truly phenomenal. The setup and arrival were communicated clearly and effectively. The team easily assessed and estimated any changes to my storage plans, clearly and proactively communicated that and kept me up to date on any possible changes and all options available to me. I have a lot of delicate, mirrored, and heavy objects that they handled with incredible care and very professionally worked with me on any special requests/concerns about the objects. In addition to that we were dealing with some tight time restraints and changes. Anna gave me several great options to choose from and made sure to check in with me regularly on my needs and to ensure I was comfortable with both the time constraints and the progress of the move. To help adjust she worked on pulling in an extra team to ensure everything got moved within my needs. I was greatly impressed with her and the team's flexibility. The additional team members joined in and worked seamlessly and comfortably. The team worked great together which also put me at ease that when they are needing to coordinate moving heavy and fragile objects but also efficiently packing to ensure they were not wasting the space since the storage cost is based on square footage used/needed. As a side note, as a woman alone in a house it is sometimes daunting having 3-5 strangers come to your house in general, but also during a pandemic. We recently moved across the country to New York from San Francisco and after five years of living in the same place, this move was big and stressful. We heard about Clutter from a friend and it proved to be perfect for us. We moved to New York for six months and our plans from that point are undecided so we wanted to put most of our belongings in storage in the meantime. This is where Clutter comes in. They're safely storing all our stuff and the cost is extremely reasonable. We didn't want to pay for more than the Garage Plan so Clutter helped us store the maximum amount that fit into that plan without going over and then having to pay for more. We sold, gave away or stored the rest of our things elsewhere but the bulk of our belongings are with Clutter. Clutter's service includes packing assistance, moving and transporting all items to their storage facility. Anh Vu and Jesus were our movers, they worked hard and well and they were sweet. Anh Vu confirmed our items could fit into the plan we wanted and at my request removed the automatic additional monthly insurance fee. Clutter only charges for work done in front of you and they don't charge extra for fuel and travel time as most movers do. Clutter packs, moves and stores everything all in one go, which is convenient and terrific. I'm glad we went with Clutter and will definitely recommend this service. read more

Clutter is the best service that I have ever used! They are so amazing and friendly to take care of all of my moving problems. I had the best ever moving experience with clutter. Plus, the cost for moving is really low, they only charge me for storage fee, for the entire moving service(packing, wrapping, labeling, disassembling, lifting and moving to storage are totally for free, it's unbelievable, is it? But that's true, their business model is just so creative and awesome! I super love their website and system, you got all the in-time notifications on your moving day via text message, you can click the link in the text message to see the mover's exact location and how long it takes to get to your place, you can best coordinate your time. Everything they pack/store for u is well maintained by the system, they take pictures and assign barcodes for each item, you can easily track all of your items in your account. Great if you want your things packed up and moved as quickly as possible. Awful if you want your things kept safe and returned in one piece. Do not trust this company to take care of your things!! The are only obligated to pay 1$ per pound of your item if it is damaged by their own negligence. I was so excited at first and impressed with this company, it was a really easy service to set up and we paid extra to have them pack up our one bedroom apartment and store our things while we had to move out. Unfortunately it all went wrong when they returned our things and many of the items were damaged beyond repair. Our two night stands, our bed frame, clothing and mattress, and a few frames survived. The same can't be said for our large tv that was cracked and had to be thrown out. Our dresser that was butchered had to be repaired for 850$, two scones that were cracked and thrown out, a new large area rug returned with moth worms had to be thrown out, plastic bins damaged and thrown out. Frustrating since I paid for the packaging service, the move and to store our things for over a year. Ended up paying over 4,000 to clutter just to have out things returned damaged. Save your money and your belongings! Use a different moving company!! read more

I have never been made to feel as hollow and sad by a company as Clutter has made me feel. I have felt every negative emotion in the book as a result of their storage services. At first it was anger, anxiety, fear, frustration, and disbelief, but as my working relationship with Clutter grew, I began to feel nothing but sadness. Sadness for the way I've been lied to repeatedly; sadness for how I've been slowly stolen from: my time, my energy, my money, my belongings. I say "stolen" because Clutter has repeatedly made false promises and material misrepresentations that were relied upon by me and my girlfriend in order to secure our business and ensure that they continued to benefit from our business relationship. That is the definition of Business Fraud. Not only did they defraud us, but they delivered our items in shambles: missing and damaged pieces of furniture, shattered belongings, and nearly every single cardboard box has been significantly damaged. I will be submitting a claim for the damages, but if past experience is anything to go by, they will most likely continue to mistreat me as a customer. I found clutter via just searching moving/storage services and was instantly intrigued by the website and the instant satisfaction of having two-in-one services. I booked an appt ASAP and originally just booked for the curb side pick up. Leading to my appt day received reminder text as early as two weeks prior to my appt letting me know of the COVID precautions being taken and also the preparations that needed to happen prior to the day of move. The day of my move I was given text messages of the location of my team and estimated window of arrival of the team. My originally team was delayed, but I was instantly notified that a new one was on the way and should be arriving shortly. As I was waiting, I decided I needed to upgrade my service to full service to include some furniture to be packed up and disassembled. It was so simple and just let the movers know at arrival that I needed this service and they said "no problem!". With the additional furniture into my order it did increase my storage unit space and cost but it was without hassle and I didn't mind the price increase. They were done in about an hour! Clutter is the worst service I've ever used, full stop. Their compensation model is pay by the hour, and it shows... We were quoted 4-4.5hrs for our move time, and it ended up taking 10hrs. Not because we had that much stuff, but because the movers weren't doing anything (when we moved with a different service as we moved in, it only took a few hours)! We called Clutter after 4hrs of 'moving' to let them know that our movers weren't doing anything, and they responded by sending us a 2nd team - of which they charged us for labor overage! Meanwhile during all of this, my roommates and I had to do all of the packing and much of the moving ourselves even though this is supposed to be a full-service offering where Clutter does everything. We effectively paid $2K to move ourselves! Clutter was extraordinarily stubborn and refused to provide us a meaningful refund. I wouldn't have paid $500 for this service, let alone $2k. Please shoot yourself in the foot instead of hiring Clutter, it will be less frustrating! Update: Clutter left a comment below to make a good show publicly that they were working to help us out. There were two main issues: time taken and damaged done. The move took twice as long as estimated, for no good reason that I could see. There were 4 guys working on the move, which is the biggest crew I've ever had for a move. They did a lot of standing around. Often only one person would be carrying things, while the other 3 stood by the truck and waited. One of them explained: "It always takes longer when there's an elevator." It does--if you use the elevator for every single trip, which seemed to be what they were doing. I'm on the 3rd floor. Previous moving teams from have always carried boxes up and down the stairs, using the elevator only when it was needed for larger furniture, or at least loading the elevator full before sending it down. It has always been quick before. This team's approach was incredibly inefficient. So, the damage: I chose Gentle Giant because they said that they specialize in moving pianos. I have a large upright piano, which they knew. This team of 4 was completely unprepared to carry it up the stairs at my new place. It was agonizing to watch/hear. In the process they banged up the drywall, wooden stairs, railing, banister, and floor--thousands of dollars of damage. I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 because Gentle Giant (or their insurance) did pay for the repairs, although dealing with their insurance person was unpleasant. Overall a very stressful experience I wouldn't want to repeat.

They worked quickly and got our entire 2 bed, 2 bath packed up and into self storage in under five hours, which was impressive. The second time, William and Max helped us move to Oakland. They were on time, organized, and clearly experienced. We were out of self storage and in our new home in under four hours. Moving is inherently stressful, but they made the process far smoother than expected. I would absolutely use Kalin & PO again. Highly recommend.

They dealt with some bulky and heavy items down stairs at both houses without complaint or incident. I would definitely call on them again if we have the need. The only reasons for 4 stars rather than 5: minus 1/3 a star for insisting on cash and charging extra for electronic (not debit or credit card, mind you, just Zelle or Venmo). To me, this is an annoying trend in smaller businesses. Minus 1/3 a star for all three movers spending about 40 minutes trying to reassemble a sleeper sofa - that was a lot of cash burned! They had taken it apart much more quickly, and should have kept in mind how it went back together. And minus 1/3 a star for leaving all of the wrap used (which was a lot, but justified, I think, because there was no damage to any of our items) for us to dispose of. They did put it into a couple of big trash bags that we provided, but we still need to get rid of it.

The moving team earned rave reviews from everyone: great communication, punctuality, and helpfulness from start to finish. All in all, the move was efficient and damage-free. Coupled with the fact that they are local and Employee-Owned, and their pricing is transparent (no hidden fees or extra charges as we saw with other companies we considered), choosing Up & Up Moving was the best decision we made.

The movers are consistently punctual, hardworking, and strategic, not to mention they are experts at Tetris. Our most recent move got complicated fast, with multiple pickup locations, last-minute changes, custom logistics, and Brandon was extremely helpful. He met every curveball with a genuine can-do attitude. He was honest about what was and wasn't possible while still making a lot of good things happen, and worked with us to land a fair, affordable price. He made a stressful move feel totally manageable. Even though our most recent move took us out of the area, but we will recommend Up and Up at all our Bay Area friends!
