I've been meaning to try this place for ages and recently a coworker friend mentioned she went and loved it so when I didn't wanna cook before work I brought my daughter by! The gal working and getting our food ready was super sweet and friendly all while also working the drive thru. Our food was delicious. My daughter got the chicken strips and fries and she loved the pickles that came with it. I got the chicken sandwich which was also wonderful. The fries were delicious as well. This place kinda feels like a mix of Wing Stop & CFA.

    Cockroach

The food itself was great tasting. We decided to eat indoors, because it was hot outside. While we waited some ladies near the counter/behind the counter were having a heated and loud discussion dropping f bombs left and right in Spanish and English. We have a 2-3 year old and not the atmosphere we were expecting. It was very unprofessional and inconsiderate of customers. We used to come here often a few years back and it had always been family friendly, this didn't feel like the case this time around. We almost got up several times to complain but also didn't want someone spitting in our food or something for complaining. On our way out I saw a cockroach dying by the bathroom/kitchen. Could have come from outside or from the kitchen. Either way it was completely disgusting and worst way to end our already bad experience. We really love this place, but it is pricey and although it was previously worth it, now this experience would make it hard to come back.

chicken is great, I've been to dave's, not a fan at all, this places blows dave's out of the water, chicken is good juicy, and flavorful. The fries are on another level, never been to a place where i enjoy the fries as much as the entree, i'll admit the price isn't the greatest, but holy it's so good i don't even care. the prices aren't ridiculous either, just a couple bucks more than your average fast food place

Josie was awesome! Fast & Friendly and food was great! Nothing but great vibes during a Friday night rush!

At first look the food looks good and the place looks clean... after ordering I went to the bathroom and found cockroaches, I then ate and the food was okay the fries were bad. I was done eating and a homeless lady walked in and asked kindly if I can buy her a meal, as I always help the homeless I gladly went to buy her a meal but the worker said it was "against the rules to buy for other people ". So the homeless lady starved and I left... 1 star.

I got the original heat chicken sandwich, waffle fries, and an Oreo shake. Like other reviews said, it takes a little while to get your food, but it comes out hot and fresh. I recommend eating inside. The place is very clean, has a few TVs, and smells really nice. The bathroom is very clean. Customer service was great. They greeted me when I came in and again when I left. The only thing that could improve the experience would be having ketchup and napkins in a more accessible spot so you don't have to ask every time you need more.

I like this location more off the bat. It has ample space and better access situation than the Fullerton location has. It's not Fullerton's fault though; they had to make do with the space they had. The food is great still. I even got a chance to try the tenders here. They were pretty damn good. I still Dave's has the best in the hot chicken market, but Clyde's were very close. Sure, they were smaller than Dave's, but they made up for it by including an extra one for me. That's a badass move from the staff, which they say is the standard because they know the strips come in a bit on the small side. For what it's worth, I think this is the Clyde's I'll be frequenting because of the spacing and atmosphere, but also just because of the distance and same quality menu.

This place needs some lightbulbs cause it looked closed but I guess they just won't leave the lights on like Motel 6. I should have tried the heat level that they request you sign a waiver for because 1930 wasn't that spicy. In fact the food was very average for the price. The fries were cold. The lady in the drive thru was at least nice and the box the food comes in thankfully is recyclable

If I'm going to be spending close to $60 bucks on chicken sandwiches I would like to get sauce on the side with my meals. The women at the window said they're a dollar each. I get it, I can just pay for it, but why? If I'm spending so much money already. She said the sauce comes inside the sandwich already if I didn't want to buy the sauce, so I said okay that's fine since I didn't want to make another transaction. None of the sandwiches had sauce, maybe a slight drizzle? But not enough to make the sandwich taste good. The sandwich was okay, a little on the dry side. It didn't use to be like this. I use to come here all the time, and it would always be juicy with a bunch of sauce and amazing flavor (and free sauce). I removed the pickles so you can see I wasn't exaggerating about the sauce.

Menu clearly states you can choose a side with your combo.

This was the worst experience I've had with this restaurant. The cashier would not let me order waffle fries. She literally said my combo only comes with regular fries. Then she tried to convince me that the drink she gave me was the correct size for the combo. It's literally a kid's drink cup. Also, I spent $30 for a combo and 8 tiny pieces of grilled chicken and they had the nerve to charge me a dollar for a side of sauce. I can't even tell you how ridiculous this place is.

Hot As Cluck 3 liece chicken strip combo. Comes with a bread and your choice of side. No pickles for me.

There used to be 9 breakfast food options that are no longer available. There were 5 rice bowl options that have been reduced to 2, and the 5 sandwich options are now down to 3. I'm sure for operation costs, they've had to cut down and just sell their top sellers? That's what I'm assuming because why else would you eliminate 75% of your menu? I was hoping to get some of the breakfast options for my kids and a few of the rice bowls, but since breakfast was no longer available, and I didn't really have many rice options, I just picked up the Korean bowl. I came home and ate the bowl and it was awful. The chicken was so so dry, it honestly tasted like they had gotten a leftover piece and threw it in the fryer again to warm it up. I'm so sad because I loved this place so much. But, with such a limited menu (we mainly came because my kids enjoyed the breakfast menu) and the food being so bad now, I don't think I'll be back.

I'm not a sauce person but this was hitting my tastebuds like no other! The service was pretty good and the shop is pretty chill with a lot of traffic with all the to go orders but still a cool little spot to eat at. And that's my take on it, Peace and out.

So here's my good and not so good. Good: the service here is amazing, friendly attentive and I watched every dine in customer receive extraordinary care. The portion sizes are huge and the whole restaurant felt like you were in someone's own kitchen on a weekend morning with all of the right smells in the air for a great brunch. Here's the not so good: it took 4 minutes shy of an hour to get lunch for 2 (2 order of chicken tenders, side of red beans and rice and an order of hush puppies ) prepared. Although the booths were full, most of the tables had their food, so it didn't appear to be a lot of tickets stacked up. When my order was finally delivered, and I took the10 minute drive back home, I opened the bag to fund 3 brown paper bags, wet, soggy and soaking in grease. Because the food hadn't been allowed to cool a bit and it was placed in a plastic bag with no way to vent out steam, every item was soggy and falling apart. The fries were wet and soggy, the chicken had all of the dry coat falling off and most the seasoning was pulled off of the batter that was left because of the water and steam. Additionally, the red beans and rice were so wet, they were almost soup. One of the orders had potato salad as a side, but to received overcooked soggy fries instead. The hush puppies were way over cooked, they had passed the golden brown cook level and were a black brown color and were sort of flavorless and really soggy from the heat of the plastic bag. I'm sure that most of this could have been avoided if I hadn't placed a to go order. But I'm leaving this review so that when you order from this little gem, you consider dining in or asking for the foot with plenty of lead time so that they don't rush, improperly pack the food for transit (let it cool off a bit) and have the time to make sure the order is correct, and cooked to a standard that best represents the business. Pomona needs Day-Days as a locally owned, black owned soul food restaurant. Switching from plastic to paper bags and giving the food time to vent will go a long way with quality for the customer. In the end the food tasked good, I'm sure was prepared with love, but fell flat on the delivery. All of that said, patronize this restaurant!!!!

A mystery shopper would likely confirm the same experience.
