I went in to see these guys when my car was making an unusually loud knocking sound from my drivers side wheel. I pulled over and called to see if they had any openings to be seen because I was afraid to continue driving on the road. After I told the guy on the phone what was going on, he suggested that I stop by so they can take a look to rule out any safety hazards, even though they were completely booked for the day. I went in and I was seen immediately. They were incredibly nice and you can tell that they have a great work atmosphere. After finding out that my tire was on the brink of blowing out, they called around to look for new tires for me. They went above and beyond for me with no charge for the diagnostics. I'll probably go to them for any future auto related issues/maintenance. A good mechanic is hard to find, in my experience. read more

I had a great experience with this shop. I became aware of CMARR from Yelp. I called to schedule an appointment. When I arrived I met Eric who was very nice and helpful. I drive a lowered vehicle and most franchise car shops aren't equipped to service my vehicle. Eric said they could take care of it. And they certainly did. Without a question these guys are simply the best! It is really hard to find an auto mechanic shop that is high quality yet affordable. Eric and Curtis are so honest and upfront about everything. I don't feel being taken advantaged of at all, and trust their opinion. I was overdue for an oil change and didn't feel like going to a chain for the hundredth time. I left a voicemail one night and they called the following afternoon; I was able to schedule a change for that day. They were incredibly nice and the oil change didn't take too long and it was the price I expected too. I had a question about a pinging I was hearing when I accelerated uphill; my car is old so I wasn't sure if this was "old car syndrome" or a serious problem. The guy at the front desk (wish I remembered his name!) asked me if he could take it for a drive up the hill to check it out. When he came back, he told me he thought it was a slight exhaust leak, due to the power exerted upon going uphill. He also noticed a slight bounce in the suspension. Good news is, none of it was serious or needed to be fixed. Needless to say, I was relieved! Great experience and I appreciated him going the extra step to check my car!!! read more

I was visiting from out of town when my car started producing a gasoline-like smell through the vents when I was stopped at a traffic light. Worried about a potential fire hazard, I went looking for an auto repair facility asap. I chose Cmarr based on the good reviews here. When I called them, they said they were booked for the day, but if I stopped by they would take a quick look at it anyway. I went in and they looked at my car promptly, assessed that it appeared to be an exhaust leak rather than fuel, so the car was still safe to drive. They offered to make me an appointment for further diagnosis and repair 2 days later, but I couldn't do that since I wasn't going to be in town that long. They still sent me on my way with no charge for their time, and no pressure, which was very generous. To be clear, I didn't get any repairs done there (yet), so I can't comment on workmansip or pricing, but I'm giving them 5 stars for their excellent customer service and helpful attitude. LOVE! Our move to Seattle was difficult and included a breakdown 90 miles outside of Fargo. It's a VW diesel, and the good people of Fargo (and I really mean that - everyone was super nice to us) had no idea of what to do with it. The combination just threw them out of whack. Anyway, long story short, we rented a UHaul and towed the car here. After looking at the Yelp reviews, this was a no-brainer. Cmarr took the car within a few days of our arrival. It took them a day or two to fix it - it was the water pump, which they kept and showed to us. The turnaround time was great and the price was more than fair. As well, everyone we worked with was super nice and basically a pleasure to do business with. Moving is stressful. I've found that there are a few basic necessities no matter where I live: a good doctor, a good dentist, a good veterinarian and a good mechanic. This place made it easy to knock the mechanic off the "looking for" list. read more

The only thing keeping me from offering a five-star rating is that I've learned not to expect a return phone call if I leave a message to set up service. On the last two occasions, I've left messages with no return call after 24 hours. I just had my back brakes "redone" because they didn't feel quite right. They were serviced less than 5 mos ago by CMarr. Apparently the back brakes weren't put on properly (at least Les Schwab assured me that I wasn't in imminent danger from them). I paid quite a bit to CMarr in addition to an $85 synthetic oil change. Boy do I feel foolish. I came to CMarr after Pat Abe closed his 7th Ave shop; I miss Mr. Abe and the fair and honest way HE dealt with his clients and our vehicles. read more

Took my 1998 Infiniti in for a 90K service, and Eric recommended that I also replace my front brake pads (which I knew were due for a change soon) and cracked axel boots. They told me that I still had a few months to wait on the brakes and axel boots, and never pushed me to fix them. Since my car was already in the shop, I gave them to green light to fix them both. They worked hard and finished my 90K service, brakes and axel boots all in one day! The prices were very reasonable and explained everything that was fixed to me. I went to this automotive shop after a recommendation from a friend. I spoke with Eric and he was very knowledgeable about the issues with my car. I had issues with my SRS light and power door locks. They did all the diagnostic work without charging me. They also found the issue with my airbag and suggested I check to see if the problem was covered under warranty before they fixed it. I have been calling a few auto shops today to find a good place to take my car for an estimate and repairs. I'm new to town, so unfortunately I don't have a whole lot to go on -- I've only been able to base my opinions on the brief conversations I've had with these shops. The first place I called (another Seattle repair company) was pretty abrasive, unfriendly, and unwilling to listen to my brief explanation of the car problems. Thank goodness I called Cmarr next. I spoke with an incredibly nice guy who listened and gave some feedback. We scheduled an appointment later this week, so I'll update my review once I get an estimate. I know this review doesn't account for pricing or the quality of work. However, it's really important to me (especially as a young woman) to find a repair company that makes me feel comfortable. I'm grateful I chatted with these guys, and I'm hoping their estimate and repairs are fair, honest, and of quality work. So far I have a really good feeling about them, and I'm looking forward to getting my car fixed here. UPDATE: Awesome!! I'm lucky to have found these guys. Curtis and Eric are fantastic, and resolved the two problems I was experiencing. I sincerely trust them and value their opinions and judgment. Had a non-functioning air conditioning system on my Lexus, and took it in for charging and flush. All went very well, with clear communication and creative effort to minimize cost. 1. They gave me an estimate on how long it would take, and called me within the time frame to say that the line was actually busted from what appeared to be front end damage (I had been in an accident several years before). 2. Rather than put in a new line for $200+ they figured out how to solder the existing one and patch the hole. 3. When I went to pick up the car they showed me the solder job. Price was reasonable. Very happy!! Just one complaint: their phone inbox is often full to overflowing and you can't leave a message, and they did not return my initial phone call. I had to stop by in person to make an appt. They are being loved to death. read more
